Craptsy down again.

Might be time to move my coins off to Mintpal once its back up. Just about had enough of their laggy servers & login issues & they have had more than enough time to fix it. My patience has run out with this exchange.

Not down had a web server kicking folks off for a bit its fixed.

All the data is encrypted on the network. If you have the keys, you can decrypt it, otherwise you have no idea what you're hosting (and assumably zero liability).

Not sure the zero liability flies actually.
670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Official] Cryptsy News and Info (Mining Contracts 2 MN2 now available) on: April 23, 2014, 12:49:13 PM
There is a lot of Malware and phishing sites out there targeting crypto.
  • Cryptsy Dogecoin (DOGE) Live Ticker (Replaces BTC address on any page with someone elses)
  • predictcoin.org (phishing)

If you have more you have seen or found I will add them to the above list.

Bottom line ANY 3rd party application relating to Cryptsy or Bitcoin is not endorsed by Cryptsy and in most cases is Malware or phishing and you will lose your coins without Two factor authentication 2FA.

Who is providing the mining?
Currently the provider has asked us not to disclose this information. You can be assured that we would not do business with anybody who is less than reputable.

In other words, "just trust me guys, exchange operators never lie"...

I say, PROVE THERE IS MINING HAPPENING.

As it states we cannot reveal it per our contract. We can however assure you mining is happening.

Again we are a US based company under its laws and jurisdictions our CEO is a public face we are HQ'd in Florida would be pretty bold to run a scheme such as your implying.

So if you do not trust that the mining is taking place its quite simple you are not required to buy them.

Mining Contracts 2 (MN2)

Bitcoin Mining Contract #2
This is our second issuance of mining contracts for Bitcoin with a total hashing power of 100Th/s.

What is a mining contract?
For this offering, we have 100 Th/s of hashing power dedicated to mining bitcoin which is part of a much larger network of hashing power. This means more consistent payouts of blocks mined. Every day, users who own shares of this will receive 1/10000 of the payout for each share owned. Users can buy any number of shares available (each share represents 10 Gh/s of hashing power). These are lifetime shares, which mean they never expire.

How much do I get paid and when?
The 100Th/s total hashing power is part of a network of over 3 Ph/s. On a daily basis we calculate and distribute to users who have shares of this contract 1/10000 of the total contract payout to each of the shares. If you own 100 shares, then you will receive 1/100 of the total contract payout. You must be holding shares at the time of disbursement to receive a payout.

Who is providing the mining?
Currently the provider has asked us not to disclose this information. You can be assured that we would not do business with anybody who is less than reputable.

What is a lifetime contract?
This means that it isn't a term agreement like 1 year. You could continue to hold these for multiple years. There will, however, come a time where Bitcoin difficulty has risen to a level where 100 Th/s is no longer producing very many dividends. We anticipate a full rate of return within 12 months or less with shares still having value at that point.

Mining Contract 2 Specifications

  • 100 Th/s Total Mining Power
  • Lifetime Contract - Payouts on this contract never end
  • Available in increments of 10 Gh/s
  • Total Shares Available: 10,000
  • Initial Price: 0.180 BTC Each for first 24 hours of offering (04/22/2014 18:10:00 EST)

  • Price: 0.19 BTC Each after 48 hours of initial offering (If not all sold)

673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange owners please add an option to de-vote on: April 22, 2014, 08:35:27 PM
I request all the exchange owners to add de-vote option so that we could de-vote shitty coins to not be listed.
Thank You!

There is a de-vote feature on all exchanges do not trade them and they will eventually be delisted.

677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: White coin forked & Cryptsy froze deposits on: April 20, 2014, 01:35:53 PM
coins showed after exactly 12 hours  Roll Eyes
that must have been one hell of  a "fork" lol

Think Ill say it again since you failed to read the earlier replies it was not a fork. Crashed wallet..... And yes a crashed wallet can take more than 12 hours. Why no announcement takes us time to determine if its going to be a short or a long fix.

takes 2 secs to make an announcement , also don't say fork if it isn't one it damages confidence.

I still trust cryptsy more than the others over all, but still they need to work on keeping customers informed.

also the title of the thread is misleading now since there was no folk. I saw this and immediately assumed there was a fork.

This is exactly why exchanges shouldn't suggest there is one if they don't know what is wrong. Just seal the market, say there is an issue and you are working on it ...do it at once so people know you are looking into it, and update as you find out more facts. Seems easy enough.

An announcement was made in chat for exactly the reasons you stated we typically do not tweet unconfirmed bad news about a coin as we do not want to hurt the market. Maintenance took a bit longer than expected is all.

Wallets break, fork crash etc. Ours is currently having issues Cryptsy developers didn't write the whitecoin wallet. Once we get it running on the chain again deposits will process  and withdraws will go out.

cryptsy says a fork with no evidence? perhaps the wallet just crashed.?

i just have just withdrawn white from mintpal and worked no issues?

More than likely cryptsy having problems since i don't see issues on any of the other exchanges with it.

Our wallet is back online our wallet had issues was no fork.

That's what I thought. Glad I use Mintpal!

Mintpal has the same issues we both have wallets go up and down. Its the joy of having so many opensource cryptocoins.
