666  Other / Meta / Re: Are plain btcjam links allowed in the lending section? on: April 04, 2015, 09:56:39 AM
In this case the person is promoting a BTCJam "Reputation Scam".  Takes out small loans at first, growing in value, then runs when the loan value is high enough to make the scam worth while.

In this scammer's case he managed to fund a 11btc loan, and now he's asking for a concurrent 2.2btc loan.  They will never be paid back.   Undecided

Yes that's an additional problem: a big percentage of posts linking to BTCJam seems to be scams. However that's not a reason to report threads. I really think these posts should be removed because they are spammy and don't contribute to the forum (regardless of them being scammy too or not).

IMO a post like the one you linked in OP is against #1 forum rule No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads. So, You could report it and see if mods agree.
Probably, IMHO, is a scammer trying to get big fast bucks.
667  Other / Meta / Re: id Quickseller These people ruin my good name on: April 04, 2015, 09:36:01 AM
please find the search for bitcoin then you give a bad reputation to those who no guarantees, I just do not id

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=88.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0

Because you are obviously a scammer after 10 posts asking for loans with no collateral besides you gave quickseller like 10 negative trust ratins wich by the way it wont affect him in anything so stop wasting your time and make another account then or use valid collateral and this wont happen

I opened the thread is right and do not spam, and I want to ask in the thread that provide loans, whether it is in say spam, if indeed I apologize spam

as long as you act like a kid and dont stop doing this kind of things specially asking for 1BTC loan without collateral your trust rating wouldnt change, stop all this things you've done and "maybe" ask Quickseller to remove the negative trust he left to you..

I hope he cleans back good name
and already I edited yesterday in the first post that I borrow just started with 0.05 1 BTC does not because there is no guarantee please refer to in the first thread I thank for everything I make a thread not to fuss just looking for a loan, but he did not seem like there were borrowed as I, and all subforums been provided by the admin and I do not make the wrong thread and do not spam

Again, you asked for a 1 BTC loan with NO collateral several times. You could maybe get a no collateral loan if you had a very good reputation, but you have no reputation only the negative.

Just stop wasting your time because you will not get a no collateral loan with no reputation at all!

It seems he doesn't understand how the trust system works  Roll Eyes , it is normal that if someone (newbie) is asking without providing a valid collater that someone will receive a negative trust.

The rule is "no collateral no loan" and Quickseller took the right choice, and you deserved the negative feedback.

Most newbies here are looking to get some quicky money, aka scam.Which is a shame.  Undecided So, they don't care about these rules.

Yep,Quickseller made the right choice. Smiley

Agreed. I triggered my alarm bells, also. However, i think it may also possible duid88 simply failed to understand forum rules due to him not being a native english speaker. Probably, he is using a online translator to/from an Asian Language (e.g. Malay or Indonesian). I also left him a feedback; however, since EcuaMobi and Quickseller already left him a -ve one and I' m not strongly convinced of him being a scammer yet I put it neutral. I can replace it with a -ve one once i would be strongly convinced of him being a scammer, however.

#1 This[1] is spam.
#2 You are a Newbie, there is no "good name" to ruin
#3 Asking for loans without collateral or history here makes you look like a scammer, thats why you have the rating.

it is not spam because I was angry and provide feedback over there, why give a bad reputation arbitrarily so

It's still spam so, You need to calm down and start thinking with a cold and rational mind. As I've told you in the other thread if you really have good faith your reputation could still be recovered.
669  Other / Meta / Re: suggestions to create a facebook page on: April 04, 2015, 08:50:37 AM
Voted: NO ,

Because I think the actual forum doesn't need a facebook page, there is reddit and twitter and a facebook option is not good. However I think you can create one, but you must write "unofficial" in the name of that page.

+1. I am also afraid of newbies coming here to make official things instead of admins. A newbie doing just that look to me as trying to build up trust & reputation from the community.
670  Economy / Lending / Re: need 1 BTC loan on: April 04, 2015, 08:43:32 AM
Please don't waste your time guys, OP don't even understand what you have been talking about.

+1.

Please don't waste your time guys, OP don't even understand what you have been talking about.

yeah right I'm running out of time here, because it gives a bad reputation to my id, and I was very upset once you try to read the first page of my post one part post, I described with bold assurance that when they criticize

IMHO, you are handling the whole issue in the wrong way. As I said before, not following the no collater, no loan rule make you look like a scammer. Your repeated refusal to provide a valid collateral & spamming multiple loan requests around the forum only reinforced EcuaMobi and Quickseller  convincement of you being a scammer; so, they both have valid reason to give you a substantiated (with reference link), valid, -ve trust feedback. Also your unsubstantiated spamming of -ve trust feedback against Quickseller only make you look more scammy.
Maybe, You've made the mistake of not reading the sticky before asking posting your first loan request and making multiple loan request but if you really have good faith you could still recover from it.
Quote
Try following this:
1. Calm down;
2. Apologize to Quickseller (better in public, maybe in the thread you started over the issue);
3. Be quiet for a while;
4. Learn forum rules and start being a constructive contributing member of the forum;
5. At some point in the future politely ask to EcuaMobi and Quickseller to remove or turn neutral their trust feedback.
If you cannot provide a valid collateral, you may still ask into lending platforms like btcjam or bitbond. IF there you cannot find lenders, you may revert earning BTC. e.g. freelancing for BTC or enrolling in a signature ad campaign.
671  Economy / Lending / Re: need 1 BTC loan on: April 04, 2015, 07:54:12 AM
your trust/reputation is not worth 1 btc. I don't think anyone is going to give you a loan and if they do they will likely never see their money again.

it seems you want to ruin my reputation by giving a bad reputation, your date if I have at my house you

IMO it seems you missed the meaning of no collateral, no loan rule: in order to get a loan you must give collateral that is equal, or preferably higher to the amount you are being loaned. Also, the sticky point out that collateral also needs to be something that can easily be sold like Altcoins or precious metals, but things that can be sent electronically are preferred.
What is considered collateral?

Collateral is something that can easily be resold to cover the loan value plus interest should the loaner default on the loan.

- The best collateral is another crypto-currency, such as Litecoin (also written as LTC).  Coins must be moderately traded on multiple exchanges.
- Some digital wares such as domain names can be considered as long as the user cannot recover it.
- Small valuable items that can be shipped though the mail - i.e. gold, silver, iphones, etc.
- Large items, such as a motorcycle or guitar can be used if you live close to the person giving you the loan.  Try localbitcoins.com

What is not considered collateral?

- Items not in hand.  Don't trust a user that promises to give you something *when* they default!  Tracking numbers only show something has been mailed - it could be an empty box.
- Future income.  You can prove you'll make xx coins in the next few days, but nothing forces you to send those coins to pay your debt.
- Identification.  So what if they can prove who they are.  Are you going to spend more money and time taking them to court on untested legal grounds?  You'll probably just walk away, like everyone does.  ID is useless.
- Games codes or similar.  To verify the collateral you need to use the code, which destroys the collateral.  Consider this a purchase, not a loan.  (Post in Digital Goods instead)
- Most new alt-coins or alt-coins that trade for satoshis are not good collateral as they can become worthless overnight.
- Paypal should never be used - they are anti-bitcoin and will rule against you 100% of the time.  Escrow can't even help, as paypal charge backs can come over 6 months later!
- Most valuable online accounts can easily be recovered by social engineering (the user contacting support to say they were hacked, and regain control of the account)
=snip=

People here simply try to explain you that without providing a valid collateral of enough value you have almost no chance to get a loan here. Also, as the sticky point out failing to obey the no collateral, no loan rule without enough community reputation & trade history assure you a fair quote of -ve trust feedback due to you behaving like a scammer (i'm not saying you're one, yet).
=snip=
If you completely ignore this sticky and make a loan request with no collateral, without having massive trust on the forum, the chances of you getting negative trusted feedback and therefore having a Trade with Extreme Caution tag is almost 100%.
=snip=
Also, your abusing of trust feedbacks is not helping you in your loan search because, while you have the right to give Quickseller a -ve trust feedback if you think he is a scammer, you have to substantiate it with a reference link and you're not allowed to spam multiple feedback just to game the trust score algorithm.

672  Other / Meta / Re: suggestions to create a facebook page on: April 04, 2015, 06:41:28 AM
I think admins are able to do it by themselves if they need to make an Official Bitcointalk.org Facebook page.
I voted NO since I am a Twitter fan.

673  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion of illegal topics? on: April 03, 2015, 09:05:41 AM
The rule is you are allowed to post topics as long as they are legal in your own country. If you can distill and sell liquor in your country, you are welcome to make a post about it.

Where I'm from, it's legal if you're making it for personal consumption but it's not legal to sell. You still need to apply for a license and pay taxes if you want to do that.

Since discussions tend to involve multiple people, wouldn't IPs need to be checked to insure that all participants are posting from countries where the activity being discussed is legal? So if three New Zealanders are participating in a discussion about methods of making moonshine then I assume that's OK from reading your post but what would happen if an American entered the thread? Would their posts get deleted?

EDIT: Also, it seems to contradict mrprep's post which suggests that any discussion about home distilling would not be allowed:

OP of the unnoficial rule thread here. If I'm not mistaken, the server is hosted in US. As such, you'd probably should avoid in-depth discussion of illegal activities in the US. For example, discussion of how illegal drugs affect people physically or mentally in the Off-topic board I guess is OK as it isn't prohibited by law to speak about illegal activities (documentaries on TV and youtube channels, etc. do it, hell, even wikipedia explains it sometimes), however, asking how meth is made would be deleted, if not noticed first by the authorities.

No, we dont have to check IPs as its really not that big of a deal.We dont have to monitor users, its on the individuals involved if they get caught doing something they shouldn't be. I'm pretty sure 99% of the time, something can be illegal in your country, but not illegal to discuss (as mprep said) the only time its really an issue are in sales threads, and even then its on the individual. If you buy some psychodelic blowfish that's illegal in your country, its not our responsibility to make sure that you did your due diligence. This is a global forum, rules and standards are different from country to country. Its not our job to enforce the thousand ridiculous rules of countries around the world.

I can assume from your comment that a informational neutral feedback (thus not affecting trust score) like the ones left over the MSDN Keys affair could be useful & helpful. e.g. I my country selling software keys outside official channels without COAs is a misdemeanor, or sometimes a felony, accordingly to IP protection law and other laws. Personally, I would like to save some bucks from keys but having to deal with courts & to pay advocates are too much to myself. So, I may put a neutral warning with references to remind users to check the relevant applicable laws before trading like this: Selling Keys from MSDN is not allowed as per Microsoft own TOS (see http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/selling-product-key-from-msdntechnet-and-or/cf40c328-67ce-49b6-bbb6-c28cda92c06e) and may also be a misdemeanor or felony in your jurisdiction accordingly to IP protection law and/or other laws. This can apply also to Keys from other software houses. Always do your own due diligence before engaging in a trade!
674  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Help the forum and earn Bitcoins! >>>>Increased the reward to 0.1<<<< on: April 03, 2015, 08:34:51 AM

Mind you reading OP rules before posting the post you quoted here?

=snip=
How to get this?

  • Report a spam.
  • While reporting, take a pic of the report including the URL bar*.
  • Make a quote of the post you reported and copy it.
  • Post the quote of the reported post, screenshot you took and reason for reporting it here.
  • Whenever your reported post gets deleted/moved/locked, you will earn 1 point which is worth 0.1 mBTC.
  • You will get your payment when total points claimed by all people reach 10(1mBTC), else weekly regardless of the points.
=snip=

IF You had followed the said rules, You have been able to check the action taken by mods on the post you reported. Without a quote we cannot have conclusive proofs of the action taken (if any) about the post you claim to have reported. So, You shouldn't be too surprised if OP will not pay you the reported post you quoted.
Probably a mod could look at it, if they have enough spare time.

678  Other / Meta / Re: having an issue on: April 01, 2015, 06:26:37 PM
i am having an issue here.. i am not able to understand that ::

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

the activity one

the time one i think is every 2 weeks the unix time stamp or something like that. every 2 weeks you can climb on grades (i think)

but the activity one is tricky..  activity = min??  or does it require a number of post counts to get ranks??

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0 is best thread about activity.

Yes every "two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration" you can gain a activity level (One level is more then one activity point).

It does require 14 posts to gain a level. Again that is per every two weeks.  You can post more and it is ok but 14 post is min to gain activity level every 2 weeks.

i actually came from that link you share before posting this.

ok here is the thing, i was brand new 4hours 30minutes ago (registered 2 days ago) pstarted posting my first yesterday] then i logged off

today i come, explore the forum cause i want to learn about bitcoins, asked questions and posted on many threads.

4hours 30minutes later, i am newbie with 18 activity.. if i continue to stay on the forum and post (not spam of course) will my level change from newbie to err jr member i think comes next, today itself or in 2 weeks??

also,

Member:           Activity: 15,
Full Member:   Activity: 60,
Sr. Member:   Activity: 200,

15 to 60 makes 45 activity, does that require 3 x 2 weeks or it might happen in a week/ day/ days itself?? ( since i explore bitcoins, i post a lot [[again i am not spamming anywhere]] i am just here to learn and understand bitcoins...

then from 60 to 200 how much time that is going to take?
i saw many profiles not with 15activities and registered since 5months ago or something..

also many profiles registered february but managed to be junior with 56 activity, will their activity continue to grow till 60 or they will have to wait for the next 2weeks for it to happen.. i saw yesterday was the activity update..

i am very sorry if i am troubling someone, like i said, just here to learn

I see no issue at all. Yesterday activity was updated, due to 2-week period ending, so your activity went up...then you logged in today, you started posting and so you started gaining more activity. Activity can increase of only 14 pts every 2 weeks.

To know when the next update came, I suggest you looking into this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0

Cool
