    • 1x Antminer S1 with Super Flower Golden Green SF-500P14XE 500W
Nice set up, but I hope the S1 is undervolted, otherwise I can't see why running a S1 today would be worth it.  An S3 will use the same wattage as an S1.
    663  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BCMonster.com Mining Pool / [PPLNS Payout][Pays TxFee] 5th Block found! on: March 23, 2016, 06:50:28 PM
I just found this pool, I like discovering these small pools.  I've been pointing one S5 at JohnnyBravo's pool a bit, I'm going to share it's time here, too.  Just one little guy trying to show his support for the other little guys, good luck!

Web page has been really slow to load today, though, not sure what that's all about.

    +1.2 = mikestang

Looking very flat this period, but we've seen sever where things take a drastic turn at the last minute, so here's to hoping!
665  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S3 Setup [HD] on: March 23, 2016, 03:31:42 AM
    Change home router to 192.168.1.1
It is much simpler to change the IP address on one of your computers to 192.168.1.x to then be able to access the antminer rather than changing your router and possibly f'ing up your whole home network.

What's your frequency setting at? 400?
Default on the Avalon 6, at least how it showed up to me from Block C, was 500 freq and I have not changed it.  I set fan min. to 40.  I am honestly shocked at how quiet and cool it is compared to bitmain products, and how it uses less watts at the wall than expected.

Where can I find shift information for my worker on the pool?  What is the N value in this pool's PPLNS?  I looked for a payments page on the web page but did not see anything, sorry if I missed it.

I wonder if the 602 price for the s-7 has caused Yan to not be able to compete with it.
I am more interested in the efficiency along with the quietness for home mining.
I would think that if anyone ran one of these A6 miners, especially with a new fan, and compared the (lack of) heat and noise that come off it versus an S7 (or even an S5!) they would not think twice about buying the Avalon 6 over the S7.

As to noise, with the new fan I cannot hear the miner in most rooms in my house, it is very quiet.  Quieter than my S5 or S3.  For the past several days I have seen 3.3TH with ~985 watts at the wall, very nice.

BitQuick.co is still down. Please read below.

    March, 17 2016 - 10:24 AM EST

When BitQuick was first founded back in August, 2013 it was founded with the intention to make Bitcoin trading safer and simpler. Through the years, we have always put customer security as our top priority. In February, 2014 we were the first US trading platform to implement proof of reserves following the Mt. Gox incident. 2015 up through now has seen incredible growth; BitQuick reached $1.5M 30 day trailing volume just last week, 15x where we were in January, 2015. This would not have been possible without our loyal and supportive customer base.

On Monday, March 14, 2016, our server fell victim to an attack that gave the attacker unauthorized administrative access. The breach was immediately noticed, and the server was shutdown to prevent any further damage. We are still performing a formal investigation to determine the attack vector, and specifically what information was obtained from the server. Due to additional security mechanisms in place, no funds were taken, and all ID’s (driver’s licenses, passports, etc.) and emails remain secured. Sellers were emailed withdrawal instructions Tuesday evening. All outstanding orders and withdrawals have been processed. Only 3% of all funds remain unclaimed. Support is still available at orders@bitquick.co.

We have always provided our customers with the highest level of security and convenience, and we will not restore service until we are 100% confident we can continue to provide the same level of service that our customers are accustomed to, and deserve. This will occur once the investigation has been completed, the attack vector has been patched, and the rest of the source code has been audited for security. We estimate that this process could take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. An update will be issued to all BitQuick customers once the investigation has completed, and once service is restored.

Until then, we will continue working as hard as we can to restore safe service access. We really appreciate the support from everyone, and we will be back soon.

Well in that case what you really want in the bitmain R1 w/Crazyguy's software patch on it, that will basically eliminate the zombie issue.

Good luck with it, let me know if you are able to do anything cool with it.

So are we still waiting for picks?

Picks start after the 600th block for the period, so

    https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Adjust time:    After 1532 Blocks, About 10.8 days

When that reads 1416 blocks picks are open.

    Replied to PM.

Price is for a flat-rate medium USPS box, so afraid it doesn't get less expensive.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you going to do with it?  Who knows, maybe you'll luck out and it will work for you as mysteriously as it stopped working for me.  Smiley

    Mike,
If you have not shipped it off to e-waste, I'll take it.

I sent you a PM, I still have it.  If you are in the 48 continental states then it's yours for 0.03 btc.

That of course is way above the 35 value I set for a minimum fan speed.
It is permissible, by definition, to exceed a minimum value.  Your fans will not go below 35%.

Ran all night and all day like a champ, it's so much quieter with the new fan I can barely hear it in the house, very nice.

    Code:
    {"hashrate1m": "3.76T", "hashrate5m": "3.39T", "hashrate1hr": "3.33T", "hashrate1d": "1.86T", "hashrate7d": "458G", "lastupdate": 1458419183}
    677  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: March 19, 2016, 07:00:20 AM
I didn't recall the freq. setting in the gui, I'll check it out tonight.  Although I was very happy with how it ran without me changing anything except the fan setting.
    Frequency was/is set at 500.

New fan is installed an spinning at 3780 rpm.  Ambient temp. tonight is same as last night, but unit is running cooler after an hour it's 34 62 71, but hash is also down tonight vs last night at 3.29TH so that could be the temp. difference.

It is much quieter, barely 61 dB.  I can't hear it when I watch tv or when I'm using my tower computer.

One other thing I noticed, you can restart cgminer after the 4.9.0 update and it won't reset to 4.8.0.  It's only when you do a full reboot of the machine that it reverts back to 4.8.0.
