... what would be the bonus for him?

I've wondered about that for a while too! -ck, any easy way to estimate?

It's always been a small reward for small miners. It's approximately equal to the minimum payout threshold for the pool so if you were always below threshold, it would start putting you into the next payouts list.

I've been tempted to increase it but if I increase it too much that would start biasing towards the biggest miner, taking away from everyone else and we only really have one very big miner.

Hi ck,

I'm getting a strange json error in my logs.

Looks like connector.c is not stripping HTTP from the json before it submits to json_load

Code:
Connector created new client instance

User-Agent: sgminer 5.1.1

{"id": 0, "method": "getblocktemplate", "params": [{"capabilities": ["coinbasetxn", "workid", "coinbase/append"]}]}

this is on latest bitbucket update from 2018-6-14.

thanks!
 Andrew

Hmm, nope, it looks like your client is sending a http encapsulated request for getblocktemplate instead of a json message and ckpool is simply dumping the entire message as is, rightly saying it's not valid json. Looks like the client is trying to mine with the defunct getblocktemplate mining protocol instead of stratum. It's also a shitcoin miner based on the mining software id it's giving you.

Alas it was also a stale block like the last orphan. The pool knew it was a stale share and had already moved on to the new block when it was submitted but it gave it a go anyway. You can see the response from bitcoind after it is forced on an inconclusive result.

The only way we can win under those circumstances is if we win the next block as well. Maybe one day we'll be big enough for that to be possible. Most pools wouldn't even report stale share attempts at blocks like this.

Cheers, just about to walk down to the waterfront (I'm on vacation) and have a Little Creatures Pale Ale on tap.

Thanks! However, more information is needed if it's going to help us find a block. What are you drinking??

P.S. I hate and actively avoid the drama but someone seems hellbent on finding an excuse to bring it up.

Hey guys wondering if anyone has figured out a possible solution? I tried switching my T1's to performance mode and I'm getting the "Error - failed to recv spi data" on two of my machines. On one all hash boards are down and on the other one board is down.
In performance mode you're overclocking them. There is no guarantee that you'll have enough power at that level, nor that the chains will be stable. You need extra power and aggressive cooling to make it likely to work, but even then it's not guaranteed.

I even know 1 pool op that has blamed ASIC firmware versions for bad luck (not mentioning any names, but his nickname rhymes with guano Tongue)

Touché.

last 10 blocks add to 1002.3   which is 100.23 luck

053.5
060.5
003.9
105.2
052.2
227.7
245.4
057,4
065.5
131.0

1002.3
100.23 % = exactly normal

So far asic boost is close to the same as no asic boost.

but 10 or even 20 blocks is a same sample.

numbers come from here

http://ckpool.org/pool/blocks/

169.3
016.4
054.4
033.7 = orphan
028.5
123.2
164.0
127.8
181.4
171.5
195.6

1265.8  or 126.58%  this is poor luck  and  was compounded with the orphan

21 blocks since asic boost 1 orphan

we will see what the next 10 blocks bring for us.

under 100 or over
Note you can ignore the orphan as the next block includes the orphan's shates here.
