681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: October 13, 2023, 07:38:36 PM
Netherlands 0-1 France at HT.

Netherlands could really do with getting at least a point in this game if they want to qualify without worrying. They’re not currently in a good position in the group. Greece beating Ireland which would leave Netherlands 3rd in the group, 3 points behind the Greeks. Big 2nd half from Netherlands required.
682  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitMEX founder projects $750,000 to $1 million #Bitcoin price by 2026 on: October 12, 2023, 06:01:46 PM
That kind of price range could come this decade but if it does then I think it’s more likely in 2029, a year after the 2028 block reward halving. I think possibly that $750,000 to $1,000,000 per coin in 2025 or 2026 is a bit too much.

The only way I see Hayes being right here is if there is unprecedented institutional demand due to spot ETC’s being approved. Even then though it would take something like an epic run away from the $.

I think maybe 2028 or 2029 we could see those prices, if we’re lucky.
683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 ACTUAL DISCUSSION THREAD! on: October 12, 2023, 01:44:40 PM
Australia currently 50/3 needing 262 runs from 241 balls. They need a run rate of 6.55 per over, it’s definitely achievable but isn’t going to be easy.

South Africa set them a sizeable target with their innings of 311/7. This is going to be an exciting watch, I urge you to tune in if you can.

Spain vs Scotland should be a good game tonight, obviously Spain will be favourites but Scotland are doing really well. They have 15 points with 5 wins in 5 games.

almost 10 years of bitcoin for me.. .. life before bitcoin and life after getting into bitcoin.

My 10 year anniversary in bitcoin is in May 2024. Hopefully we have an approved spot ETF by then & an ATH maybe.

I was a fresh faced mid 20’s noob back then. I have done very well from bitcoin but my God, it ages you.
686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 11, 2023, 03:21:39 PM
Maybe he’s decided to avoid them because he associates them with gambling and knows if he meets them he might do something stupid and blow his winnings by gambling them away.

Maybe they always ask to borrow money from him and with a big win they will expect him to give them some. There could be lots of reasons why he is avoiding them, let’s not judge him without more context.

My body is ready (LFC_Bitcoin)

@StockmoneyL
Does the ongoing geopolitical and humanitarian crisis have an impact on financial markets? Absolutely.

Nevertheless, there are compelling reasons why we anticipate #Bitcoin  will achieve a new one year high before the halving.

Our target: 48k before the halving, and here's why:

🔹Temporary war-related market effects (source: investopedia.com)

🔹Pending approval of a Bitcoin spot ETF, drawing substantial investments from major financial institutions

🔹Escalating global inflation rates in countries like Venezuela (400%), Zimbabwe (172%), Argentina (113%), Sudan (71.6%), and Turkey (47.8%) (source: Forbes, Aug 2023)

🔹Upcoming halving event, intensifying scarcity-driven price increases

🔹A growing influx of institutional investors embracing Bitcoin, solidifying its investor base (source: NASDAQ.com)

Today I bet for India in this India vs Afghanistan match. Bet on India at 1.8 odds.  Hope India will win the match by defeating Afghanistan in today's match. However, I don't know how useful my future will be here. Do you think I can win the bet today?

Definitely should be a winning ticket. India are famous for their cricket, Afghanistan shall we say less so Cheesy

Afghanistan got 272/8

India are currently 94-0 needing 179 runs from 40 overs to win. I would say it’s looking good for you.
689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 11, 2023, 01:21:34 PM
If you find yourself in a situation where you've lost money while gambling, it's important to remember a few things.

Try to stay calm and avoid chasing your losses by continuing to gamble. Take some time to reflect on the experience and understand that gambling is ultimately a game of chance. It's a good idea to set limits on your gambling activities in the future to avoid such situations.

You can seek support from friends, family or even a professional who can provide guidance and assistance during this time.

Practise responsible gambling, don’t play with more than you can afford to lose.
690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 11, 2023, 11:12:09 AM
Hazard was brilliant at Chelsea for a couple of seasons, he really was. It’s also true that he didn’t score more than 16 goals in a Premier League season once. He was also a massive flop at Real Madrid. He’s been all but retired for about 4 years if we are totally honest.

It’s a shame but during what should have been his peak years, he was injured & overweight most of the time. I’d argue that his transfer fee and output at Real makes him one of the worst signings in history. He also went more than a year without scoring a goal in the Premier League.

To summarise, great player when he wanted to be but nowhere near deserving of some of the accolades he gets.
691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Relying on gamble wins is dangerous to mental health on: October 11, 2023, 08:56:34 AM
You can’t rely on potential gambling winnings as income. It just doesn’t work for the vast majority of people. Gambling should be a hobby, you should see it as fun. The moment it stops being fun is the moment you need to stop and assess what you’re doing.

Never gamble with more money than you can afford to lose. It’s just worth the misery that losing brings.
692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 11, 2023, 08:02:21 AM
Regarding Chelsea vs Arsenal, I can’t envisage Chelsea getting anything from the game. Arsenal have momentum now and that’s so important. Chelsea have players that could hurt Arsenal but they’re just a bit of a mess at the moment, unless they really raise their game, all I see is an Arsenal win.

Q4 is here, halving getting close, likely spot ETF’s approved in the next 6 months. The pumpening is close [stifler.gif]

Bitcoin Halving in Just 200 Days 😳

Ever wondered where Bitcoin was 200 days before in the previous halvings?

In 2016, BTC was -65% below its ATH.

In 2019, BTC was -60% below its ATH.

In 2023, BTC is currently -60% below its ATH.

So, even if it seems like Bitcoin's price isn't moving much, it's following a similar pattern to previous cycles.

@BitQua
Why do I believe that #Bitcoin  will reach $60K+ before the end of the year? It's due to the Green Channel, which began forming in 2017 and remains unbroken. Regardless of the path #BTC  takes, it should intersect with this dotted line. If the dotted line is touched in 2024, it should mark a new all-time high (70K+). However, we've never witnessed a new ATH without a retest of the previous peak. Combining these two arguments, we arrive at a potential $60K+ value by December 2023.

@BoldBitcoin
October and November are the two most bullish months for #Bitcoin  historically.

Brighton 2-2 Liverpool
West Ham 2-2 Newcastle
Wolves 1-1 Aston Villa

It was the day of draws until Arsenal stepped up on landed a big KO on Man City to win 1-0. Very early on but Man City look weaker than last season. They’ve lost back to back PL games for the first time in 5 yesrs.

On we go to the international break.

Another week for Tottenham Hotspur to play out another game against Luton who are some how still getting use to the EPL and is going to be another free win for the visitors (Tottenham) that's to their fans and some online stakers but I don't see Tottenham Hotspur winning this game.
Luton might be poor in their performance but I think they're going to take this game like is their last game in the EPL and they don't mind spoiling that unbeaten strict for Spurs today but I can just tip today's encounter between the newly promoted side against Spurs as a draw.

Spurs will probably win but it is Spurs after all, losing and failing to win trophies is in their club DNA. Their form won’t last, they have a really small squad. I can’t see Luton getting a result but it wouldn’t surprise me. Spurs are like an elephant stuck in a tree, you don’t know how they got there but you sure as hell know that they won’t stay up that high Cheesy

Come on Luton Wink
698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 06, 2023, 08:26:52 PM
Nobody likes losing a bet but if you get hysterically upset then it means you are either betting more than you can afford to lose or you are too emotionally unstable to gamble. There are places out there that can help you with both of those situations.

The number one rule for gamblers is to stop when it’s not fun any more. Never gamble with more than you can afford to lose.

Anybody still got significant fiat sitting on the sides, waiting?

I am mostly done buying with funds that I set aside selling some in 2021. I do have a fiat nest that I could plough back in, if there was something akin to the COVID mindrust event but that will only be used in an extreme dump.

I’ve been wondering for a while what, if anything, could cause a bad dump now with the halving so close. People aren’t stupid, they know bitcoin moons after each halving. Would a recession send us that low? How likely do you guys think a recession is now?

Just having a good think, looking for opinions.

Hoping Liverpool put officiating incompetence behind us this weekend and see a vengeful performance with a win against Brighton. I like what I see so far and an incompetent/corrupt bunch of officials in the Spurs game will not change that. The Red Men are going nowhere, I expect a win on the road at Brighton.

Elsewhere, the Arsenal vs Man City game should be a cracker. Hopefully we’ll see lots of goals, a draw would work out nicely for my team.
