Pain to see

How much odds you got from 10 parlay game ? First time to see members who are from bitcointalk share 10 games parlay and only one missed. It's really rare because most of these pain mosthly I see on twitter.

The odds for that 10 parlay game were 12.78

and I lost it, sadly. But look what a bet I won later

The odds were over 50.00! OMG, I'm so happy! I forgot to submit it for the Perfect 10 | Week 114 promo, but, honestly, my win is enough, innit? Smiley

Anyway, I'm going to participate in this one, [$2,500] Perfect 10 | Week 115| Sports, and I hope I won't forget to submit it, if I win.

Well, I 'd say multibets do bring me more money than single bets, but maybe it's because I make them more often. It definitely brings me more fun becuase when you win with 100x or 150x of your bet on sports it's really cool, innit? Once I almost won 200x, but I cashed out 48x before the last game was finished only to realize later that I was right in my prediction and I could win 200x! Anyway, my personal record wasn't set that time and even today it's still around 150x.
Yep, it is wonderful for emotions. Even if you lose, you watch every match stats and results, until the lose. And if you win such multibet - you can dance - even $10 can become $1000. It is like win in a lottery. But for my strategy it is too risky. I call such bets "to feed a bookie". Smiley
PS. The best result was about 50x, but the bet was about $20 if i remember correct, i don`t calculate such bets.

Wow, you won $1,000! Congrats! My win on sports bets was never so big. I did win such money in poker online, but never in sports betting. Of course if I bet $20, I would win $3,000 with my 150x multiplier win, but I never bet $20 when betting on sports, unless it's a free bet. With free bets it can be $40 even. Btu when I have a $40 free bet I try not "to feed a bookie", like you said, and my odds are below 10.00 usually. Smiley

Yes, and whether you believe it or not, I have seen people on the internet, citizens of the United States of America who believe that in order to fully defeat the cartels and decrease their economical power a new set of drugs are supposed to be legalized and normalized in that country. I have read them to say cocaine should be legal in the United States in the same manner marihuana has been legalized. Even though I can agree the war on drugs has mostly been a failure, I don't believe allowing those kind of substances to circulate for recreational purposes is the solution, even if the government guaranteed the purity of them and also applied taxation on it's purchase.
We could also argue that even if Cocaine gets legalized on the USA, criminals will just move onto other more addictive substances to continue to fill their accounts.

If people can already develop very serious problems from their bad gambling behaviors, I don't even want to imagine what would happen if drugs like crack and cocaine become more widespread and easy to access to the general public. Because the legalization would imply an increase of offer and hence and decrease of price in a very short period of time.
  Sad

It's a big question what would happen if all drugs were legalized, but from what I know prohibition is not the answer. Same with gambling. If it was illegal in all countries it wouldn't mean people would stop gambling. Hardly. Rather they would find ways to gamble on the dark web, or in some shady places situated in the dark alleys. I'd even say you make something more attractive to some people when you ban it.
684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: December 26, 2023, 11:01:09 AM

I'd say, only good luck would be enough. Smiley Your knowledge and analysis is nothing when luck is not on your side. But let's be realistic, no one can be lucky all the time. And then we see that in reality all the other factors start playing a role. But then again. as every gambler knows, you can do everything backwards and with the help of good luck you can win still.

Luck is the best explanation for a gamblers wins, especially when gambling on virtual games or games that deal with random AI generated numbers. Those games are all about lucks, but when we talk about sport betting, most wins are fueled by the knowledge of the gambler towards his selected games. One can have full confidence on the outcome of a selected match and bet towards it. Indeed there is a room for knowledge when talking about gambling wins.

I would argue with that. In sports betting you can't win big without risking, or, in other words, without counting on good luck too. If you bet on team that is most likely going to win your odds will be like 1.1 or 1.05 even. You'll never win big, even if you are right and your bet is as high as $200. And we all know that you can lose with 99% win chance because of bad luck.
685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 26, 2023, 10:28:28 AM
Recently I was around a physical bet shop close to my area and I observed a man who was shabbily dressed walking in the gambling house. I got into the place to observe what his intentions were. He walked straight to the gaming attendant, placed his bets in a highly coordinated manner and quietly walked out of the physical gambling house. From the way he was well organized, you will never know that he was mentally unsound apart from his dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard.

When I inquired from the attendant, she said he was a regular customer and that he usually raised money for gambling through the manual jobs he does around the area. She also told me that he has never misbehaved and acted violently in the gambling house so she was comfortable with him.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?

I'll tell you this, "physically observing" is not enough. Someone can appear mental to some people while being a leader of a nation at the same time. Not allowing to such person access to a casino may cause international conflict, you know. Smiley

But if seriously I don't know if it's actually legal to bar from entrance people with dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard?

We may hate the fact that some people have alts, it makes me feel like a fool, if it is so easy, I could just have 10 accounts, merit each other, have all 10 of them at hero, make about at least 70 or so dollars each, and have 700 dollar income which is a great salary and that's just one week, make 2800 dollars a month and that's being super rich in my nation, but I don't, because it is not allowed. BUT, also a casino doesn't care, they warn you not to do it, but if you 10 accounts and they are unaware they are yours and they all write 25 posts each, and they are all quality posts, they would be happy unfortunately, that's just how it works.

No, you couldn't have done that. To have an sMerit you have to earn 2 Merit first. Only then you could award someone with a merit. Even if we ignore the fact that sending each other merits would be spotted pretty easily, you'd need more than a hundred years to make 10 hero accounts this way.

Maybe the average bettor does not even care about those kind of news when comes to where to put their money. If the news is not directly related to Biden and his presidential bid, the odds won't move at all.
I also agree on what you say about when we may have a better time with this kind of betting market if we wait for the political campaign to reach the stages of debates between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, whatever they say on the debate stage can heavily influence on the decision of the voters and also on the odds of the markets.

I have also noticed that this news is not being spread at all by corporate or big media who have some affiliation with the political left, as expected.

Yes, the debates can impact the situation big time. Actually, it's hard to imagine Trump winning the debates in the eyes of the viewers, to be honest. Well, his hardcore supporters will not change their mind whatever happens, that's for sure, but people who are hesitant will take Biden's side I'm sure.

And for now gamblers vote with their bets for Trump more and more:

Many people think "Trump is the safe bet", even in this very thread, and I don't blame them, seeing what's going on around, but I personally think, oyu bet on Trump and you simply lose bet, that's all.

he did the best for himself, how hard it was for him to let go of his gambling addiction, I was very enthusiastic about his actions because only a few people were truly aware that they were addicted to gambling, this should be an example for friends who have exceeded the limit of spending money on gambling

Yes, it's hard to get rid of any addiction, and gambling addiction isn't an exception. Some people on this forum say it's the hardest. So, the guy should serve as an example for us, for many of us here, I mean the banning himself from gambling part. He could be thinking, I won  $5,000 on a poker machine once, I can win again! But no, he was smarter than that.
690  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: December 25, 2023, 11:48:40 AM
Try to answer the question: the one you call a “white collar” has an education—a higher education. Can he do the work of a laborer? Waiter, taxi driver, builder? Yes, sure. You can learn this in a couple of days.
The question is, can someone who works as a waiter create a project, perform an operation, or teach a child higher mathematics?
Do you feel the difference? Hence, ask yourself why people with higher education get paid more. I think the answer is obvious.

I see what you mean and I agree with you in general, but let me tell you that someone without any proper education can create a project, if that person from wealthy family like Donald Trump and others. Overall 30% of all them billionaires are coming from wealthy families. Not all of them are uneducated but many of them could create a project(with the help of others) and be successful being not educated at the same time.
691  Economy / Economics / Re: Which do you prefer on: December 25, 2023, 10:59:24 AM
First I will advice you is that you shouldn't be too fast to quit your job for trading because you are now earning from trading. Before you quit try to make other alternative because it is not idea for you to depend on trading and have no hope on anything that is generating money for you. In trading anything can happen that you don't know how long you will be stranded,  for now think of creating something else for income before making trading as your only job.

It's always a good idea to have different sources of income, not just one. You have to organize your trading activities the way that it gives you several hours per day for doing something else. Don't sit and watch what's going on, put it on auto and do something else meanwhile.

~This is not the same thing as a gambler who gambles often offline, that alone will limit him automatically.
~

And that's why I said that to get rid of online gambling addiction is harder and I doubt that we could name many gamblers who got rid of online addiction but continued going to land-based casinos.

moderation is needed to keep yourself in check of your habits. if you are feel you are heading to addiction, much better to pause for a while and give time yourself to contemplate on things and what you really want to do in life. sometimes, self-assessment from time to time will help you understand what's going on around you and yourself.

That's a good advice. Indeed, gambling addicts can't think of anything but gambling all the time. Thinking of what you really want to do in life can open your eyes and see that you are heading to addiction if you continue this way.
693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: December 24, 2023, 12:25:34 PM
~
Of course, it depends on the situation and the situation also depends on the person's point of view, or that means everyone has a different point of view and decision in every situation, even though according to them it is good to choose but maybe for other people it is not recommended and should be avoided.

Actually from the two things you mentioned that might be an option / chosen by others basically in common sense both are really bad actions, especially if you do it when you are focused on doing other things, especially in the workplace that provides you with income to survive, no matter whether it's alcohol or gambling or even illegal drugs which basically have a negative impact all of that should really be avoided, there is no reason that makes sense with whatever they say for a defense.

Indeed, there can be a lot of "reasons" for justifying their behavior, gambling or drinking alcohol or taking drugs at work, but we all know, you just shouldn't do those things at work, that's all. You are paid for doing something and you should do what you are paid for. If you are paid for gambling, like some influencers are paid for spinning slots in their streams, then, as strange as it may sound, they must be gambling at their work.
694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: December 24, 2023, 11:19:13 AM

That is a situation where their mental and psychological will be played, isn't winning something that gamblers always want? of course, but do you know what impact there will be on your mindset after you experience such a situation? I think healthy people and always think realistically and address gambling will not go wrong even if they get an extraordinary sensation from the situation of winning with large amounts, but unfortunately most gamblers experience a change in mindset and point of view when they have experienced such situations and conditions.

Usually they will assume that "this seems like a good place to earn" and after that winning is not the end of the world, because of the change in mindset and increased hopes and higher expectations they will usually apply greed by hoping to get a much larger amount because they feel that luck is still there even though it is completely unknown. In my opinion, such gamblers will never stop especially after winning, usually they will stop after running out of ways and money, simply put, losing is curious and winning is addictive, that's what they are.

Let me make a small correction here, not "most gamblers" but rather a small portion of them, about 5-7%%. Most gamblers, fortunately, are responsible gamblers. Be it otherwise, gambling would be banned all over the world and we'd have nothing to talk about here. We all can be reckless gamblers at one point or another, but the key is to not be like that most of the time.
695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: December 24, 2023, 10:50:05 AM
The terms and conditions of casinos and other companies is usually very lengthy and somehow boring for some people. Hence , many people rarely find time to read them. They may actually contain some of the complaints that people raise about some casinos such requiring KYC if there is need or suspicion of money laundering activities.

What is your take on this?

I try to read them rules, to be honest. Not right when I register, but a bit later, but still I think it's better to read them, at least briefly. They are almost the same on all legit platforms, so if you read couple of them it becomes easier to understand the words next time. I encourage everyone to not ignore the Terms and Conditions completely. At least make an effort.
696  Bitcoin / Electrum / Transaction fees on Electrum on: December 24, 2023, 10:01:26 AM
Unfortunately I couldn't find the answer on the internet, so I'll try my luck here.

Since recently the transaction fees on my Electrum are too high. Sometimes the minimum fee I can pay to send coins is two times higher than High Priority fee on mempool.space and I don't like it. Smiley

Is it possible to set the fees manually? Can we send BTC with very small fees without Lightning Network?

Thank you in advance!

and I mistakenly thought that when the jar is full you are immediately getting free spins or something. But when nothing like that happened, and I kept playing and adding new balls to the full jars, I think I've figured out what the progression is. With collecting balls you are just increasing your chance of getting free spins from, say, 0.1% to 0.2%. Your chance is still very slim, but it's true that it keeps increasing with every new ball collected.
From the info (i) section, it's clear that there's no such progression... the jar is only for cosmetics since the feature spin will be triggered randomly upon the collection of the candies. IMO this cosmetic thingy is like the Caishen series when the pot keeps getting filled when you collect wild symbols, but by no means it will increase the chance of triggering feature spins. Thus, you get this feeling of a 0.1% to 0.2% increase in probability simply because you are playing more and longer. I mean it's like a gambling fallacy when you feel that you'll trigger the feature spin if you keep playing...

If the candy jar is used in progression mechanics, it will 100% reset after you change your base bet.
~

Oh man, I think it should be illegal, to be honest. It's like with cigarettes, you can't write  “light” and “low tar” on the boxes since some point in the past, because it creates an illusion that some tobacco products are safer than others while all of them are dangerous and addictive. I lost more than $100 on this slot collecting dozens of those balls to no avail. I'd rather have regular symbols on the reels instead of those balls.

I don't like betting on live matches at all, they can go wrong in such a short amount of time.I know of some people who have bought what they call "fast satellites" which are about 30 seconds ahead of the fastest stream and they use them to place live bets on lower division leagues through bet365,they place the live bets next goal just before the goal is scored,it is extremely expensive to get those type of satellites yet they claim that they are making money,I have not seen any difference in their life style so I don't know if they are lying or not, anyway,I always prefer to place bets before the game starts and lately I am only playing basketball over games.

Why do I personally don't like betting on live matches is because the odds keep changing and it's so annoying(for me, at least). But the amazing bit is that it's not always like that. Like I just did a multibet on 5 live matches for the sake of experiment

and, surprisingly, it all went well. But, of course, I prefer staking before matches start most of the time.
