701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has already campaign for itself on: July 16, 2023, 02:57:08 PM
Why even convince anyone to invest in bitcoin, or literally anything? There's little to no upside yet the downside is abysmal. Telling people where to put their money in is simply not the way to go.
Unless that person asked for your advice, say you are a financial advisor and someone's asking you to recommend them something that they can invest in and the parameters that they've presented to you matches perfectly with bitcoin, is recommending them investing in bitcoin still not the way to go? I think that in extreme cases it wouldn't work because people don't like being forced to do the vidding of other people but if there's a way where the convincing is understanding and polite, I think it's going to be different.
702  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you have opinion about Bitcorse exchange? on: July 16, 2023, 08:17:22 AM
As you can see everyone here has not heard of bitcorse.com and of course no one will advise you to use any exchange if it is new and unknown such exchange.
Which is the right thing to do because when something online is already raising a red flag, better to stomp it out before it can become a big problem. OP mentioned that he has reasons to use the exchange, if he is transparent about his intentions, wouldn't he mind telling us the reason especially OP is asking about a review of the exchange that has no record on reputable websites?

To OP, I don't know you and that exchange doesn't have any record here or any other sites that keep track of exchanges, but if you proceed to use the exchange even though a lot has already said that you shouldn't, that's on you.
703  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie - advice? on: July 16, 2023, 05:28:17 AM
If you're a total newbie, might I suggest that you should learn from the scratch first? I think that trading is like big step and that you're probably skipping a lot of fundamentals in the metaphorical ladder. But if you do insist on learning trading first, you should first first evaluate yourself, you need to point out your flaws and how you might react on things and how are you when it comes to negative outcomes, are you disciplined enough to follow a pattern that becomes boring when it becomes a habit? There's more questions that you need to answer first and then honestly tell yourself if you're ready to trade and if not, you can always start from scratch.
704  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things that influence our trading decisions on: July 16, 2023, 02:56:55 AM
Despite the fact that it's been talked about several times here, I still see some people disagreeing with it as if it doesn't really matter. Some people think that if you are just good with your trading strategy, you can begin to make profits, which I usually disagree with. There is every possibility that a trader can have a good strategy, but perhaps since we don't usually know the market direction, if a trader who doesn't have a good ability to control their emotions encounters losses, could they be able to bear the loss? Some traders will not, and that's not a good characteristic for a real trader. So, I agree with you.
How will you even encounter a loss if you already have a good strategy in place? A good strategy always have an exit plan that makes sure your losses are at a minimum, what I think someone should have instead of emotional control when it comes to trading is discipline, discipline encompasses even that part so having a discipline means you have control over more fundamental things granted you have a good trading strategy in place.
705  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Idmining.com is hellish scammer on: July 15, 2023, 11:40:11 AM
The fact that they didn't mind giving you the first investment back meant that these scammers are experienced when it comes to social engineering and psychology, they know that when someone sees that they can make money out of the platform because they trusted the platform to give back the money with the profits, I don't know if they coerced you into putting in more but if they do, that's a tell tale sign that it's a pyramid scheme. Also OP, you should know that no matter how grave the offense is, doxxing isn't the way, you're putting yourself and the people that accepts your request in an awkward if not dangerous position even if you offer a reward. My suggestion is that you do it legitimately and talk with the authorities about the identity of these scammers and regarding their identities, even if you were to know it, there's a possibility that they're not from your country.
706  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ALERT] BEWARE ABOUT PHISHING SITES on: July 15, 2023, 07:50:07 AM
This is the most popular method of scammers creating phishing sites to link your wallet and steal your funds, if you're an investor or someone who's into airdrops or doing trading, bookmark the right websites, use an extension to ward off phishing sites and always be particular on the domain names scammers are good doing at cloning the sites and they confuse you with their domain names that look like the real one with additional characters or changing the small letter to capital letters.
Maybe back then this is enough, but now, increased vigilance would be a big help because scammers are getting more trickier than ever, there was a report here in this board about a phishing website that's almost identical to the real website, the only tell tale sign that it wasn't a legitimate website is because it's domain name is real suspicious.

You know, more and more people are reporting scams with the same MO and hopefully this is a good indicator that people are becoming more watchful about the links that they click on and not believing all the airdrops out there because legitimate groups doing airdrops can still be infiltrated by hackers.
707  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mixin Safe: A Convenient and Decentralized Multisig + MPC + Timelock solution on: July 15, 2023, 04:51:11 AM
~

The Mixin name is from the same brand under Mixin Network and Mixin Messenger. They do have some mixin features in a decentralized way.

Mixin Safe is a product built on Mixin Messenger features, to provide a multisig+timelock Bitcoin wallet service. But with Mixin Safe, this mixin ability is reduced from the original Mixin Network.
Ow, I totally misread the name, I thought it was Mixin' but hey, you learn new things. I noticed that there's an uncapitalized "mixin", is that bitcoin mixing or something? Now that I know the name, I get now what you're pitching.
708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding Bitcoin's Potential Realistically on: July 15, 2023, 02:59:19 AM
~
I also invest in bitcoin, but I cannot live under the same illusion as them Cheesy Cheesy. I like to see things realistically and always have backup plans because the more value something creates, the greater the risk. Furthermore, in my opinion, spreading misinformation about bitcoin won't make it any better, and it will sometimes backfire on bitcoin's reputation. No one can stop them from exaggerating about bitcoin, but if they really love bitcoin, then they shouldn't spread that misinformation.
I guess you're one of the few who aren't that tied to things that involve money. Having a backup plan in case things don't work out is always a go-to way to ensure that you won't be losing much if things gets worse. You can't really blame people spreading misinformation nowadays, the mainstream media which is backed by billions of dollars spread them the most, you needn't to worry about the spread, what we should focus more is having more people that are informed and can think for themselves therefore evaluating what they read online making things much difficult for misinformation spreader to disseminate their lies because more people are thinking critically.
709  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mixin Safe: A Convenient and Decentralized Multisig + MPC + Timelock solution on: July 15, 2023, 01:20:35 AM
Can anyone do a TLDR for plebs like me? Cause I doubt that I understand this project correctly, from what I read and understand, this is a kind of wallet where there are two keys and you can't open the wallet with just one, is that correct? If so, then OP should probably change the name of the project because I don't see how mixing is a feature in this.
710  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: TimechainStats.com - FREE BTC Resources - NO ADS on: July 14, 2023, 01:22:04 PM
Wow, this is really great. Definitely, a page that should be bookmarked.
You say there are no advertisements or anything commercial, and that's ok, but how do you plan to maintain this service, I live without any kind of monetization. I hope you don't expect donations to be enough. Some ads are perfectly fine if they will help maintain the service.
Speaking of ads, maybe OP can reach out to some of the services that are doing signature campaign in the forum to do ads there, OP can probably hit up the DMs of the services like my signature campaign Sinbad Mixer to do an advertisement there. If ads isn't really a thing for OP, I think that donation is the closest thing that OP can use to maintain the website and I checked it, without the ads, it's actually refreshing to look at so in my opinion, donations work the best but hey, compromise is always on the table.
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina Launches it's First Bitcoin Futures Contract, Brazil To Follow.. on: July 14, 2023, 12:09:42 PM
~
While that might be true, I think it is fair to warn people so that they don't misunderstand what the contract means. I just read the link provided by OP and it seems the Argentinian future contract is traded in a limited scenario. Only available to investment firms and only worth a tenth of Bitcoin, for example. Based on this, I doubt the exposure to retail will increase compared to before. If it does happen though, retail would probably be better off buying Bitcoin directly still.
I did say that if they got curious about this contract that they will find out it's not bitcoin, it's quoted. I sound like an asshole here but no matter how small the exposure, if enough people talk about it which is most likely increasing at an exponential rate, the exposure will increase anyway, and what you're saying will eventually happen because some of them won't be able to get those contracts, but they'll try to find ways to get their hands on bitcoin.

~
I'm not sure where did you get the impression that the gap between them is so long. Worst come to worst it would be six months apart if they don't change their schedule again. There is too little information to find out the reason why.
Well, post said that Brazil was supposed to launch this June but it's postponed until the second half of the year so I think it's a hit too long to decide on something that's not significant to their economy as much as other aspects if compared.
~
Argentina has nothing to do with that, and futures trading is not as strict as it is to adopt Bitcoin as legal currency.
Nor is the adoption of Bitcoin as critical as governments rush to say why Argentina did it and not Brazil or vice versa.

Again, the wording of this topic makes the news a bit misleading as it is better if @OP add an English source.
Dude, you have misunderstood what I was trying to ask, I didn't meant that Argentina has any part in the delay in Brazil.
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding Bitcoin's Potential Realistically on: July 14, 2023, 10:46:01 AM
I agree with your point, bitcoin is bringing a lot of innovation in the financial world, but that doesn't mean bitcoin will become a panacea for our world. It's ridiculous how many people are so crazy about bitcoin that they see it as a savior that can alleviate poverty and improve the world economy, bitcoin will solve all problems for the world if we accept it Globally...They don't look at the ongoing reality that bitcoin is only seen as a tool for speculation. And for it to become a global payment method will also take much time, even more unlikely, let alone bigger things. We should be realistic and set goals for each stage instead of living in illusions, it will not make us better.
The reason for them being so hyped and overly optimistic about Bitcoin and what it can do is because they are invested in it, they've put money into bitcoin and they know that being optimistic and saying something positive about bitcoin helps in raising it's value, they don't look in the reality because it's the truth and the truth hurts so they live in this delusion that bitcoin is the cure all solution for all the worldly problems out there. If I'm being honest, there's already a solution existing since the Industrial revolution, the ruling class just don't want to do it because it destroys their control over the people that they govern.
713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina Launches it's First Bitcoin Futures Contract, Brazil To Follow.. on: July 14, 2023, 09:42:34 AM
Please beware that Bitcoin Futures contracts are not Bitcoin. Futures contracts are just derivatives (more like tokens) that have a price that is close to the spot market price of Bitcoin. Therefore, people actually trading them on those platforms are not trading the real Bitcoin and this does not mean increased Bitcoin adoption. So there is no big deal in my opinion.

If it was news like "Argentina and Brazil adopt or legalize Bitcoin" now that would definitely get me and most of us here excited.
I think that the big deal here is the fact that this is one step closer, only the bitcoin zealots care about the technicalities and wordings when it comes to these things, if the average people were to hear about this, they wouldn't really care whether it's part of bitcoin or not, Bitcoin is already a brand and if you stick it to something, people will recognize it. What I'm trying to say is that, this news isn't for you. Also, worth mentioning that some people will get curious about this and do their own research and then find out that it's not bitcoin per se, they would most likely press on and learn more about bitcoin then and there.

Why did Brazil took too long to do what Argentina did? Is it because they're a member of BRICS and somehow China is influencing them?
714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I start my journey on bitcoin talk forum i.e. in crypto world. on: July 14, 2023, 08:26:30 AM
Hi mate, welcome to the forum. The only thing you have to do on the forum is to read and see if you can provide an input to it. Do not indulge in creating more threads rather take it as a Twitter account and start posting more replies and understand the context of the topic. Other than that, just follow basic rules and do not spam posts. Quality over quantity should be your goal. Merits are required to rank up, for that you surely need to post good content.
I'm cringing on the Twitter comparison but I agree that it's the closest thing that OP can do in this forum.

To OP, it seems that you want to make money in the forum but it's up to you if it's going to be difficult or not, a lot of the replies have already mentioned that you contribute quality posts more than just pumping out posts or replies so I'm not going to touch too much on that, if you have a marketable skill like graphic design, programming, or other services that has something to do with cryptocurrency or technology, you can check out the Services board, you can post what service you're offering or even reply to those that's looking for services that you might be able to do, or if you are into selling and buying stuff, the Goods board might be a good board for you to explore,  it has 3 sub boards for specific stuff so you will be busy for awhile if you plan to check it. Like any other things, just explore the forum, see how things work and how users interact and you're going to learn along the way.

Here's the link to the Services board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thank you Bitcoin on: July 13, 2023, 01:05:29 PM
Thanks for sharing your story. One thing is for sure, discovering bitcoin & making it a big focus in your life never made anybodies life worse, that’s for sure. This forum is a great place to learn & share experiences, get queries answered etc so be sure to stick around. The more people we have in the community here, the better it is.
Kind of weird that you're focusing all of your energy in bitcoin, I'm sure there's more to life than just looking at charts and the price of bitcoin from time to time. I agree with your 2nd sentence though, this forum is a great place for all of that, all I've learned about bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, I learned it here first and did a little reading on articles after learning about something here.

718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 13, 2023, 10:28:37 AM
You pretty much answered the question yourself. A lot of signal groups are deceiving while some are legitimate so you just have to be careful which one to pick. I personally prefer saying learn how to trade instead of looking for guidance but that's really tough. There are also some good platforms that offers copy trading and that's one option you could check.
Or better yet, don't join them because we can always learn how the market works on ourselves, especially if you're active in this forum, you can use this platform to learn more about bitcoin although there's a diversity in opinions and some of them are outright lies so better to be careful but that's another story. Signal groups in my experience, is not that useful especially if you're not active on the platform that they're in but if you are then you can join them, just don't pay for one, that's just one step too far.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin according to Satoshi is digital money then why call it investment. on: July 12, 2023, 03:53:27 AM
It's an investment because if it can be traded hands then there's value, look at Forex, isn't that some kind of an investment too? Another obvious reason would be the value of a bitcoin, it's going up in value and I don't think it's a good idea to just let it stagnate if there's a room to grow.
720  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cocaine in the White House. on: July 12, 2023, 02:01:05 AM
I don't know the big deal is, pretty sure those white suits consume nose candy daily there, it's just that this one time that someone saw the coke and decided to have the media cover it. Didn't Snoop Dogg smoked weed in the White House back then? I guess that place is just as a good place to do drugs as Skid Row.
