721  Economy / Economics / Re: World Debt Clock by nations. on: October 26, 2023, 07:07:08 PM
Gold demand is the most shocking one to me, there are some rich nations that doesn't really demand gold apparently, I wonder what other method they prefer? I mean if you are a rich nation like for example lets say Norway, and you are not in the gold demand but you are in the list and have a high GDP as well, then what is it that you are requiring in that situation? They could demand a lot more gold than many other nations in that list but they are not, which means that they must have figured out something else that they could request, what is it?

Maybe we could switch to that as well, maybe what they found is a lot better than gold and could return as a good idea? We need to stop asking for gold all the time because it is not really helping as much as people think it does.

Norway is engaged in a lot of external investment portfolios with high returns and managed risks. Plus, their economy is robust, which resulted in a currency that is stable enough to not need any support from a hedge like gold. I think what we can 'request' for is a country with good governing figures that believe in the importance of ethical governance that promotes transparency and accountability rather than leaders who are trying to amass as much money as they can while they are seated.

You can't have that nowadays unfortunately, especially if the citizens remain misinformed about their choices in their leaders. Norway managed to not have any dependency in gold because they have leaders who are dependable when it comes to policy making and running the economy.

723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK passes bill to enable authorities to seize Bitcoin used for crime on: October 26, 2023, 02:48:19 PM
Who is seizing stolen and bitcoin used in illegal activities before in United Kingdom?.

Aliens?  Grin
You should have read the article you shared pass the title (which was imho misleadingly written ) as its mention later in the text that goal of this new bill is to make it even easier and faster for government agencies to seize cryptocurrencies that they belive was used in illegal activities.

The government is known to make a lot of assumptions, and this one is just scary as it sounds. They could tag you with any illegal activities they have in mind and seize your property, and you cannot appeal because they have 'evidence' that the crypto you have is used for illegal activities. It seems like they're just trying to make everything easy for their daylight robbery.

Quote
One of the provisions of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill permits the recovery of crypto assets used in crimes without conviction, as some individuals may avoid conviction by remaining remote. The legislation also aims to combat the use of digital assets “for the purposes of terrorism” or related reasons.

So it's like robbery, then. They just take your coins and pin you with no crime whatsoever, as long as they believe that you are related--or at least your coins are--to any illicit activity. Sounds super convenient to them.
724  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Pending justice for SBF on: October 25, 2023, 11:21:38 PM
I don't think that there's still money left to recover from this thief. His family got involved with various assets acquisition and that's needed to be proved in the court but we all know where it came from. The only prize that every victim can get from this is for the verdict from the court that this guy should rot behind the bars. And next is the investigation on how his family got their wealth and hoping that they'll all be recovered, put up on sale or auction and the proceeds of it will be distributed to the victims even if they're not going to be that much. Because with that, there's gonna be the sense that it is visible that the justice system is working on them. But the sad thing is that, we're seeing the other way around.

And that is because SBF has managed to make connections with known people in the legal system and it seems all planned by him and how foresee the future with everything getting f*cked up with his plan. Every political system, there's corruption and that's sad when he's aware that everything is just all about under the table.

The guy is basically rubbing shoulders with prominent figures in the tech industry and politics. His parents are also somewhat known in the legal industry. As far as the justice system goes, this guy is kind of untouchable, unless those involved in the proceedings of his case grow a backbone and try to prosecute him and send him behind bars for a long time. He's very clever with making those donations and setting up those social events while he had the chance to. He gained a number of allies that helps him with this case. They'll just prolong this case until no noise can be heard anymore, and he may not be acquitted - but he'll surely the lowest sentence possible for his case.

I would love to try my hand at the Philippines geo, though I see that it has already been reserved to someone else. If possible, I'll be tossing my name out there as a possible back-up should the one reserved for the role is not available for some reason. I don't have a telegram channel experience, though I have a broad experience in content moderation in social media so that might help with something.

Good luck to all these folks!
726  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sherbet.com - $1,000 Welcome Package - #1 Social Casino - $15,000 Weekly Race 🤑 on: October 25, 2023, 01:01:02 PM

I do encounter what @sam experienced on different casino with same license but they later on allow my country to play which means they do something with their license coverage.
The reason can be the respective country's laws related to gambling which is some countries ban gambling completely as some has restrictions that may cause issue for the license provider and they will keep updating the regulations as per the policy changes in the countries' law related to gambling.

For the safer side, if your country name is not in the list but you are aware that gambling is banned in your jurisdiction then ask for clearance from the support before risking any funds there which is the smart decision for not to lose our money.

We have a list of countries that are prohibited from playing at Sherbet. We don't want to hide the rules we have from the community, we do this because of the license we have and if there are any updates we will definitely inform the community

Regards,
Jt
I the restricted countries can be listed out for us to have prior knowledge of what to expect when we visit the casino,  so as to be able to know if our countries are among the listed as prohibited and to fine other alternatives to play on or if the use of VPN is allowed which also I won't advice anyone to use since you are a regulatory compliance casino at some point the need for KYC will arise and anyone that signs up using VPN will have issues with theaccounts at that point.

But it do better if we can have everything well spelt out for all to see and also make a choice on them whether or not and if our country is allowed.

Reading the ToS before deciding to play at a gambling platform avoids lots of questions you needed answering for later. You have this working knowledge of how the platform operates, what it allows and what it doesn't, and you get to know in detail how you would be answering things should they hit you with that 'your account is under review' kind of scenario.

I think a lot of us here underestimate reading the ToS. It's long and repetitive at most, but it's designed in such a way that people will ignore it, even though what the people want to know is actually answered in that ToS.
727  Other / Archival / Re: CEO of Stake.com (Eddie Craven) Found Decapitated In Home on: October 25, 2023, 12:22:41 PM
This guy is nuts to the head. Are you that desperate to be noticed by the stake team that you're going to fabricate these stories? Take your case to the right channels and maybe, someone will dare listen to what you will say. Fabricating liea isn't the way to go, and is a sure way to get the attention of other parties that you don't want noticing you, e.g. the authorities.
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling Generally An Illicit Activity? on: October 24, 2023, 11:49:12 AM
Gambling is not necessarily an illicit activity, although it's connected to such due to the possibility of money laundering. That's why casinos often have this rule that you cannot withdraw deposited funds when you don't wager at least 1x of your original amount. It prevents money laundering somewhat, because it poses a risk to the perpetrator by hindering them to deposit and dip out with the funds by withdrawing.
729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your doubt has no effect on gambling. on: October 23, 2023, 02:55:47 PM
The picks you have are the favorites. At the least, you had an expectation on how things are going to be. You might have a doubt on some of the teams in there, and that is why you don't do parlays unless you have a solid reason to build one. The risks you took are pretty low, since you staked a low amount and won a huge one.

This goes out to all sports betting players. You study your games, teams, and matchups, and you'll never hesitate on your bets. It takes some time to get a mastery over them, but it will be to your own advantage.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake casino streamers! Why such streamers are very popular? on: October 23, 2023, 02:19:30 PM
Just know that these streamers stream the game because they are getting something from it by doing so. Especially in online casino streamers, there's no reason to stream your degeneracy if you're not gaining something from it. Take whatever they say with a grain of salt, and do not be tempted by the wins that these streamers are getting on their account. They sometimes have boosted rates which do not apply with the regular account.

If you need to learn something from a casino, especially its games, fairness, and overall experience for users, seek out reputable review sites or this forum and see whether someone has already played on there.
731  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅🍅 wintomato.com 🍅Dice 🍅 Slots 🍅 Sport Betting on: October 22, 2023, 02:36:56 PM
~snip~
Visit their telegram group to know the answer. They are running a free spins promo. Users will receive free spins for publishing an article about Wintomato. The shilling thread by the newbie user is the outcome of their promo. Another thread has been created by a newbie user for the same purpose: "Dice on wintomato". I have reported the thread yesterday which you have mentioned in your post. Unfortunately, the moderators haven't taken any action yet.

That's kind of a bummer. If they allow these 'publications' to be something worth of a free spin, I guess they don't really want their business to succeed because a lot of these newbies will flood the gambling board with praises and other hullabaloos about wintomato. Cheap advertisement, yes, but definitely has a lot of negative effects since it will be seen as something irresponsible on wintomato's part on the forum's perspective.

I just reported these threads too, and they're still standing up until now. If this is how this platform want to do their ads, then they're not going to get organic views nor interest since the testimonials, or so-called 'publications' came from newbies whose words do not carry weight on this forum.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your nice hit to leave the casino. on: October 22, 2023, 10:40:22 AM
I don't understand what you mean by 'hit', but if it means a win, then I don't have a definite amount in mind. I just play until the balance runs out, or I am tired and want to do something else. For wins, if it's close to half of my initial bankroll, I might think of stopping for a few hours and just get back to it later - but that rarely happens.

Nowadays, I just bet on sports and try to win as much as possible. I don't stop even if I win so long as there's still some games to bet on.
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 19, 2023, 11:02:29 PM
They still have to watch someone to know where will they do it. The urge to gamble is always there for everyone, they just need a little push in order to do it on their own. Without watching anyone, I think the youth, or everyone in general, will have a hard time figuring things out on themselves. They don't have the innate knowledge on how or where to gamble, but they sure know that gambling nets them with something if they win.

736  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: October 19, 2023, 03:31:24 PM
<snip>
There have been a lot of discussions about this, but I still wonder if you attract a lot of people (or a new audience) with posting these giveaways on Twitter/Telegram? They are dominated by bots and you need to be extremely quick and lucky to win a small prize. You will get views as everybody loves free stuff but I doubt it is really effective.
Certainly, despite the presence of numerous bots aiming for promo codes, this marketing approach can still generate a "buzz" and excitement, which are essential for reaching new audiences. Additionally, to the best of my knowledge, casinos can target specific demographics that align with their preferences. Is this feature available on Twitter?

Since there are a lot of bots active on Twitter or telegram, does this mean that we should not use these big platforms for our promotions? This is not the right approach. Marketing on these platforms can bring new gamblers to the site and it is worth having a presence on those platforms.

Just my opinion, those bots that are driving the post traffic and views are actually the reason why a lot of natural views checks the post and tries the service. While maybe it's not what Roobet wants for their promotion, in a way it's still converted into something that's positive.

When announcing giveaways there, the sites can take measures that the bot participation becomes minimized. There can be a number of steps taken which will involve human interaction, in order to avail of the bonuses. If a gambling site, such as Roobet has enough budget, should not leave any platform untouched and have its promotions on every social media platform.

True. They want to spread the word far and wide. They have different techniques and strategies to eliminate those who may abuse the promotions that they are putting up. It's not as if they will be promoting this and they are not prepared for the possible surge of users anyway.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No scam sportsbooks on: October 18, 2023, 05:49:50 PM
I have recommended Stake on friends and acquaintances that are looking for a sports book that doesn't require a lot and don't scam their players. There are some complaints of delayed withdrawals, crediting of deposit, or something along those lines, but those are isolated cases that never really happen most of the time to a lot of people. They also have high limits, so if you're a high roller looking to change bookies then you can go and give Stake a try.
738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about trading feature? on: October 16, 2023, 05:59:38 PM
It's not a trading feature per se, but rather a predicting game wherein you guess whether the price will go up or go down in the next X seconds. It's still more like dice wherein the chances are 50/50, and if you know the market well, you will have the edge as you can make informed predictions rather than trusting blindly to your instincts or to your gut feeling. It's a nice game, but players should understand that this is not a trading feature in itself and you can't trade your coins in it.
739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t push playing more on: October 16, 2023, 05:24:28 PM
I have tried adhering to this, but I find it very difficult to,and I know quite well that there are some days when you will be frustrated because you want to win more, but will find it so difficult to get a win. This is where the topic comes in,never to push more when you see that it's isn't just going well for that day.Gambling can be so annoying when you keep on losing, you wish to win by all means, but the game is not one that guarantees you regular win, playing more after a losing streak will cause you to lose more money.

That's the thing that is really hard to deal for a lot of people. Self-control is not something that you will easily get, and you will have to work hard in order to get that for yourself. It will take quite some time in order to achieve self-control. There will always be times wherein you are frustrated of the losses, and you still have the funds to continue to recoup the losses. It's a difficult decision to make, but once you did it the first time, the succeeding situations will be a lot easier to handle.
740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 16, 2023, 05:06:36 PM
I think it was a technical knockout IIRC, so Drake could have still won that bet even though Dillon is disqualified. I don't know the ruling of the individual sports books, though. Nevertheless, Drake really is a high-roller with the right picks most of the time, and he's qualified to all of these decisions given how much money he has on his person. Win or lose, he can still bear the outcome of any bet he makes, and IMO that's more important especially if you're betting huge amounts like this.
