721  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB: Reference 5870 Replacement Fan on: August 28, 2012, 03:11:55 PM
There are lots on ebay. This one is 10.49 USD with free shipping to domestic USA.
http://cgi.ebay.com/280800583937

But TBH, I haven't replaced a single fan since I figured out how to repair them without disassembling the heatsink or fan. Just need a small off center hole on the face of the fan to insert some lubrication oil, and fan works like new. It's a gamble if you want to resell something like that though.

Keep in mind that most of those fans on eBay are not exact replacements.  You'll have to cut off that tab that holds the wire, since the original fan has a narrower tab.
I've put two in fine w/o modifying them in any way.  Yeah, you do have to maneuver the wires into the proper place

The 5970s and 5870s I have done will not take the larger tabbed fans.  I just did a 5850 couple days ago and I was able to install the larger tabbed one no problem.

Right.  The picture below shows both.  The ebay guys clip size is on the right. I have both styles but I do charge more then the ebay guy.  I do take bitcoin at checkout.

I think you mean the eBay one is on the left?

Maybe this will teach people not to lend or borrow money anymore.  It does not matter if it was a ponzi or not, there is a lot of risk in lending and borrowing.

That's exactly what brings an economy to a screeching halt.

Hi, I started up my rig again after taking the summer off.  It is mining, but munin isn't recording the data.  Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or do I have to reinstall it?

Try redoing the usb drive or using a new one.

How is a newbie with a single post able to post outside the newbie section? Wink

I'm guessing a forum admin knows yokosan?

He deleted all of his other posts.

oops.. your right... my bad..
my apologies to any insinuations I may have made against the admins.  Grin

Does it bother you that CPU's two years ago were not as fast as CPU's today and they cost more 2 years ago?

Ohhh.. so you mean that the "Single" was made two years ago?

You cannot relate "bitcoin time" to "real time".
Seeing as bitcoin is still relatively "new", yes, in bitcoin time, BFL singles were about 2 years ago.

So BAMT still does not support 7970's straight outa the box?

a little birdie told me .6 should include 7xxx support Wink

#2 - Are you willing to do a deal for BTC thru an escrow agent?

the mining software crashed and BAMT's mother kicked it in the ass and got it restarted for you.
phoenix crashing is usually the result of too much overclocking.

thanks for reply, but i dont think this is the case. It looks like one card is behind all other cards right from the beginning - not reseting at some point. It just sums up slower.
If this really is the case i miss some good mhashs on that, amirite?

Based on what you cut and pasted, that's not what appears to be the case.
733  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: August 09, 2012, 04:17:42 PM
another question comes up to me:

gpumon tells me 3 of my 4 cards are performing well: 2000-4000 "accepted" and almost 0 invalid. Thats fine. Why is my 4th card reporting only 77 accpted?

Quote
0: 74c     65% (3270-)   89%   176 Mhs  407/2 (0.49%)    deepbit.net

3: 73.5c-  65% (3112-)   98%   296 Mhs  752/2 (0.27%)    deepbit.net

As you see gpu1 is way behind. Does gpumon just monitor this wrong or was there something wrong? This happens more often to me, i guess

734  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: August 09, 2012, 02:54:22 PM
hi

anyone managed to get the TP-Link WN722N wlank stick to work? It uses the Atheros HTC driver (ath9k_htc..). I tried several things but didnt get it to work (im a noob on linux though).
i heard On kernel 2.6.35 drivers are already included, but bamt acutally runs on 2.6.32.. is it possible to update to a newer kernel?

btw: bamt rocks Smiley

Do this at your own risk...

From the terminal as root.

Code:
mine stop

apt-get update

apt-get dist-upgrade

apt-get clean

sync

Then restart your BAMT rig.

thanks in advice, but i fear those commands.

Question: did you try that? Did anyone try that?

I guess it will lead to another formatting and clean setup of bamt. Thatfore i wait untill i have some more time.

Why not just make a backup image of the usb you have now, then try it.
Nothing to lose.

So why continue to use Gox? Smiley

+1

the gox monopoly has got to end.  help bring an end to the monopoly.

I'm really liking this pool, but one minor issue I'm having is a higher rejected share rate than I'd like. I'm getting about 2% rejected shares, which is higher than I've experienced on other pools (usually see more like 0.2%). I'm using cgminer 2.4.2 and connected to us.ozco.in:8332/. Any ideas? 2% isn't a big deal, but lower would be nice.

Edit: Linux + 58xx cards if that matters.

where are you located?  which server you using?
739  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So I guess MtGox isn't even trying anymore ... on: July 08, 2012, 07:57:07 PM
I've stopped using gox and I was doing quite a bit of selling btc on gox. I suggest you do too.  I realize that may not be an easy solution for some, but eventually it has to happen if they are not responsive to the problem.
740  Other / Off-topic / Re: BitForce SC - Pre order delay on: June 27, 2012, 02:05:45 PM
I've placed a large order to be paid by bank wire several days ago.  Email sent by BFL states that I will be contacted with bank wire information within 1 business day.
That was 4 days ago.  Has anyone else attempted to place an order with bank wire?
