Sadly it will not pass. Some banks or some great companies such as PayPal will pay for it to not get accepted. They will then give a fake reason. This is how it works.
I think you will be proved wrong, Bitcoin has passed the stage of denial and this people know it, the ETF will be passed and the price of BTC would skyrocket. Get out of Altcoins before March 1 I'd very much love you to be correct disconnectme

This small decline because of another Chinese FUD is nothing.
But my five dollars!!!! $995 is close enough to $1000. I don't see what the big deal is. If we suddenly dropped back to the $750 range, all the FUDers might have something to pat themselves on the back about, but it seems like the price of Bitcoin has been pretty stable lately. If the winkle etf doesn't happen you can expect a bear fest. It will be ugly.

Well, the current price of bitcoin really is at the price of $ 1000, but the price at the moment I think it is very difficult to say that the price of bitcoin really back at the price of $ 1,000. it may be because when the price of bitcoin down a little, the price will immediately be at $ 990. Well, maybe we can say that the price of bitcoin back when the price is above $ 1,010
This made my head hurt.

Chinese exchanges stop withdraws and the market goes down by less than $100
Almost perfect
It does sound like a fairy tale doesn't it? With a happy ending now we are living in with the price now over $1000 and nicely rising ever slightly every passing hour. I do think it is the ETF is to blame for this one. Is it possible that the Chinese exchanges have been faking volumes even since the last talk with PBoC, which resulted in them starting to charge fees? That would help explain why this week's PBoC intervention hasn't had much of an impact. I must agree with you on this one. Those Chinese were just trying to trick the West into believing what they want them to believe with more smoke and mirrors to get them in their own clutches for whatever reasoning they have. I believe what will keep the price stable now is the announcement of the ETF by the Winklevoss's and what that could reap for bitcoin by the ones that are not totally convinced of BTC as a viable option to compete with other fiat and assets like gold and silver for that matter. We will just have to wait and see what the SEC has to say now. Nay or yey! Do you guys actually think the people that for some reason want to buy Bitcoin now are waiting with such furious intent to buy into an ETF that on March 11, the money will just start flowing like a rap music video? I believe the money will trickle in at first and the Bitcoin economy won't see any real money for 2 to 3 months after, June-ish.
September 21, 2017 save the dateI'm not convinced it'll happen at all. I am usually bullish on these matters but I just can't see it happening. More then likely, it doesn't happen and then commence post speculation dump

As longtimers in the thread well know, my wife has applied divorce and my life is in a phase of serious readjustment. Having a wife and 5 kids was one of only two "ancient and high-level dreams/manifestations" of my life, and now at 36, it is in jeopardy. To my great sorrow, it has not been possible even to see my children. I wish this would not happen to anyone.
But being pressured more than is comfortable, also yields results. I have been considering to write an e-book, and that would be about something that I know very well, even though don't care about it, yes you guessed right, MONEY.
I have spent 11 years of my professional life studying about it, handling it, making it, losing it, even creating it. In some lecture materials I had made in 2015 (Finnish only), I claimed 43% average annual gain from investments and business. That's not too bad - Mr. Buffett has been making 20% and is generally considered successful.
The book would integrate history of money, metaphysics of money, theory and practice of monetary systems, and wealth-management and business advice. Perhaps 100 pages. I already wrote a book in Finnish about money in 2009, but, unsurprisingly, my knowledge on the subject is much higher after 11 years of dedication than after 4 years.
I feel since I am pinned down with the practicalities of the divorce, which the other side is making difficult by not letting me to see my children, increasing my emotional load and feeling of unfairness (to the extent that I consider it blackmail, which I never in my life has agreed to before, and don't know if I have the neuroplasticity to agree to it in the future either, in short she is playing an extremely dangerous game with her financial future by ignoring my honest, lawful, natural and loving request to be present in my children's life, so that they could spend time with me in my home), there is no motivation for me to make any more money as there is no family to enjoy the fruits of my labors, nor to do much else really; also I am uninterested to social activities this very moment and probably a few months still, Ecclesiastes calls this state-of-mind "vanity of vanities", yet I am capable of writing a remotely intelligible sentence that is 7 lines long, and seemingly enjoy doing it while there is almost nothing else I can do besides writing, as all balls are still in the air - why would I not write a book? Thoughts?
Sorry to read all this Risto. Didn't realise you were having such a difficult time. I hope the situation gets better soon. Using your children as emotional blackmail is very low indeed. I can only imagine.

I really can't see the ETF happening. Just my opinion and can't really back this up with anything.
It just doesn't seem like the right time. I'm usually bullish but I expect a large drop come March the 11th when everyone realises it's not happening.
Too much hype on this.
Edit.
Winkle lawyer says ETF unlikely. Well that says it all to me. I hope I am wrong.

His posts pissed me off after a while. An educated (but incorrect) troll is not a good troll.
It wasn't his point of view that annoyed me, it was his complete and utter lack of interest in acknowledging any other point of view. When someone's that entrenched they should be given their own forum so they can talk to themselves as no one else has anything to offer them. He was "above" all of you. Did you not know that? Dear dear

I'd love to read an argument between Stolfi and JJG. I bet they were Epic.
hahahahaha Those posts and back and forth arguments already exist in various places in the history in this thread... mostly in 2014, and perhaps parts of 2015 before Stolfi pretty much abanded posting in this thread. The posts are not really very interesting.. but I do think that they tend to show that Stolfi pretty much avoids directly confronting about substantive issues, and remains pretty polite throughout his posts (for the most part), even when being attacked with foul language (from me and from others too). And over and over, Stolfi would tend to just stick with his spin and his talking points (in spite of evidence to the contrary).. he would continue to assert that bitcoin is a scam, ponzi scheme, insider job, on a downward trajectory likely to go to zero, is a pump and dump, refuge for pornsters, drug addicts and people trying to avoid the above board behaviors, etc. etc. He would also present his various spin and biased evidence on an ongoing basis in a kind of scientific and academic way, which seemed to convince some people (but others would just keep calling him out as a bullshitter). Sometimes, he would also just admit that he was a troll, and I suppose that there is some good in that. Yeah, well I was lurking here for many months before taking the plunge and joining here mid 2014. I seen your posts here and The Professors but not seen an argument. I bet they went on for days!! Ha h. His posts pissed me off after a while. An educated (but incorrect) troll is not a good troll.

Chance of ETF? What do you guys think?
10% chance?

I know sell at the top and buy in the dips but this is too risky for me with regards to timing and I know I'd be out of the game fast and left behind!
I can't guarantee I'd sell and buy at the right time. It's taken me enough hard work to get a decent stash and I will hodl these for as long as possible. If you don't need the money then I suggest you all do the same and try and forget the short term price.
Look at the bigger picture and think of the future.

Ok ok, SOMEONE posted on here the other day saying CHINA you have NO power anymore. Your dumps are NOT very effective and it recovers as fast as it drops.
Who was that? They bloody lied to me.

Well, looking at all those charts and drawings I have no f**king clue what's going on.
Thanks for the input Afrikoin but for me that's clear as mud.
I'm not getting at you, it's probably my lack of intelligence.

Lol! That China PBOC spook was a dime! I imagine people are saying price is going down because of China, yet, price was always going to go down. It was just a matter of time. I believe this is the beginning of a trend down to $780, $700, $650, $514, $465. $700 first then reassess Two of China's Biggest Exchanges Stop Bitcoin Withdrawals http://www.coindesk.com/two-chinas-biggest-exchanges-stop-bitcoin-withdrawals/$465 Afrikoin? Surely that would be classed as "The death of Bitcoin". That's not good reading.

This could be the real last chance to buy bitcoin below $1000??
Ha ha, I keep seeing this!

I'm actually not enjoying this price drop. It's beginning to hurt my eyes seeing these numbers.
Today started so well and looked so bullish. It just shows btc hasn't grown up fully and can be battered at any moment. This will not help ETF
