I think is very clear: If you loose what seems to be above 100 tanks / vehicles in two days and advance 50 meters (quite different from what Ukraine is doing), you may want to reconsider your strategy, but hey look, go for it, keep on!
That's the logic here. When Russia lose huge number of tanks, armoured vehicles and I'm not even talking about human power just in few days and advance by something like 50 metres, there is a reason for them to brag about it.
But when Ukraine advance by 50 metres in Southern direction, then it's failed counteroffensive.
And when I see whole colones of Russian tanks getting destroyed near to Avdiivka, it looks that Russia haven't learned anything since the beginning of war when we saw same things in Kyiv direction.

Today there wasn't any games involved biggest teams, but Hungary - Slovenia was great game to watch. In first half Serbia made score 1:1, but just minute later Hungary took a lead again and result didn't changed until end of game. Hungary now have 1st place in their hands, while next Serbia game against Montenegro can be called as do or die.
Kazakhstan is back to reality as after loss to Denmark and their dreams to reach EURO gets more far away.

Bolt yeah, I was, as usual, looking for upsets so I went fir bigger ones against Spain and Denmark, but I missed out on Bulgaria.

Don't think the odds were that good for Lithuania, though... do you recall what they were so I can mourn my unrealised win? Haha
It was our first win in official game after a bit more than 2 years and last time when we won our oppoent was... Bulgaria also. It's very rare when I can say such things about our national team, but it was pleasure to watch how we played. Though, I can admit that I didn't went with Lithuania win, I made safe bet on over 1.5/2 goal.
Meanwhile Bulgaria is hitting new lows

If Ten Hag was a good manager he would have solved the problem within ManU by now. He came here from a team like Ajax and we can say that he has enough experience to deal with the problems. As for Ronaldo, I didn't mean to build the team on Ronaldo but to take advantage of Ronaldo's talent and experience. This type of player has a lot to offer to the young players in the team. Some players see him as an idol and he can contribute to their development.
Not trying to defend Ten Hag, but if manager fails at one team, it doesn't means that he is bad coach. Though, I remember in one of Eredivisie threads I said soon after it was announced that Ten Hag will go to MU, it's bad decision for him to join such problematic club. But let's look at Chelsea and how many managers they have sacked in recent years. Conte, Sarri or Tuchel. Chelsea sacked them, but it would be difficult to call anyone from them bad managers. But back to United, I think it's matter of time when Ten Hag will be sacked, but I'm not really sure who would be able to save them.
Ronaldo at Man United, it would be interesting, but I doubt that now he would be able to be 90 minutes player with such intensive calendar - EPL, Europa league and 2 Cups. Not sure that he would be happy with such role.

What a nice bunch of games the euroleague had the last 2 days.

Who would have thought that Monaco, one of the front runners to reach the final 4, would get pounded by Virtus yesterday. Losing by 24 at home against a team that is not really on anybody's radar is crazy.
I also expected Crvena zvezda to win in Kaunas, even though they were a slight underdog but a big last quarter saw Kaunas erasing a 9 point deficit and take the home win.
Barca winning at Olympiacos was also a small surprise I must say.

Only 2 weeks in and the league already gave us some memorable games, that's why we love European basketball!!

Yeah, it was interesting round. Maybe it's not that huge upset that Monaco lost, bbut how they looked yesterday, it's shameful. Barca is pleasant surprise for me so far. They got weaker on paer compared with previous season, they opponents in opening rounds were so difficult but they started with 2 wins. Didn't watched whole game, but 4th quarter - Barca showed elite defense there.
Valencia win against Fenerbahche also can be called as surprise and they also opened season with 2 wins, though, they played both games at home.
725  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't Stand With Either Palestine Or Israel on: October 13, 2023, 10:21:47 PM

Why, because it doesn't fit well within your western bullshit? Roll Eyes

Russia vs Ukraine goes way back in history, the Russians claim it's their land due to "history", it's up to you if you don't want to compare the two conflicts but they are the same, you have two sovereign states (Ukraine and Palestine) and two invaders (Russia and Israel) the main difference is that Russia invaded Crimea in 2014 while Israel Invaded Palestine in 1948 and they keep expanding the invasion day by day with the support of your tax money.

So how is it okay for Ukraine to defend itself but it's not for Palestine? you need a truck full of hypocrisy to swallow that contradiction.
LOL, my westerm bullshit. OK Smiley. Calling Palestine as soveriegn state is doubtful statement. There was no such sovereign state as Palestine back in 1948 and even now it's status isn't recognized by about 25% of UN members. You can argue about it, but telling that Ukraine and Palestine situation is same is bullshit.
And these things goes back into history way deeper than 1948, but more into 19th century when jews were allowed to buy land in Palestine.

Quote
The Ukrainians are also doing terrible things to the Russians, so by your standards -- they shouldn't do that, they should just sit back and wait for the Russians to take their land.
Well, Ukraine didn't come to Russia to kill or kidnap innocent civilians. Offcourse, there is things like crucified boy in Donbas and similar shit that Russia is spreading since 2014. And yes, I don't deny that Ukraine killed more or less Russian civilians in active phase of war, it's simply inevitable, but they weren't target, unlike during Hamas attack last Saturday.

Quote
There is no such thing as build on hate, you need reasons to hate, seeing someone invade your country, take your land, kill your people, will automatically make you hate them, this is how life works, good luck convincing the Ukriain future generation who are yet to be born not to hate Russia.
Palestinians will hate Israel forever and vice versa, same like Ukrainians won't love Russians anytime soon. There is reasons behind it, I don't deny. But there is also brainwashing plays role. If you will push one agenda from young days, something what Russian propaganda doing, it's difficult to have different opinion

Quote
What is your definition of "terrorists" is it the killing of children? Israel has killed far more children, is it the number of buildings destroyed? Israel destroyed an order of magnitude more buildings than Hamas, so how can you call Hamas terrorists and not the Israeli army? you are comparing an invader to someone who is protecting their country, if you can't be fair and call things as they are you should at least not be a hypocrite, the least you could do is call both of them terrorists.
So, if I call Hamas as terrorists, it automatically means that I defend Israel. That's good one. But if it's not clear enough, I don't support what Israel is doing now in Gaza and in one of my posts I even called their actions as genocide.
Though, If Hamas would have same capabilities as Israel, I suppose that they would act in not less brutal way.

Well, it's no surprise that this user became a winner, as he had 17% of the total number of gold tickets. Honestly, it's crazy that one user had more than 266k tickets because it also means that this user probably wagered about 1331 BTC to get that many tickets, or he just bought them for ~66 BTC. In that case, winning 7.44 BTC in the Lambo lottery is just a consolation prize for that user.
It's another time when Lambo has been won by one of whales of Freebitco.in. It's nothing surprising, considering how big % share from total tickets he had. It's very unlikely that he bought so many tickets or in other words spent 66 BTC to win 7.44 BTC. So yeah, as you counted, he simply wagered crazy amount of BTC and got tickets in this way.
I don't have access to stats, but it's interesting in these 9 rounds so far, how many times Lambo winner was whale and how many regular user with normal number of tickets.

What surprised me most today is such easy Albania win against Czech Republic - 3:0. It doesn't just improves Albania chances to reach EURO, but also it's big favour for Poland in fight for 2nd place in group.

It was a really unbelievable game between Croatia and Turkey tonight. Honestly I wasn't expecting Turkey to perform this much impressive. Because they have newly changed their manager and it was going to be his first game with the team as well. However we watched a much better Turkey in this game.
It's common thing that after change of manager team start to play better at least in short term. It doesn't always brings good result in long term, but in first 1-2 games after change of manager, team usually plays better. For me it looked a bit strange that Croatia was favoured so much before the game, but still, Turkey win is surprise.
Latvia win against Armenia can't be called as upset, though, I'm a bit surprised that Latvia managed to score second goal with 1 men down. This loss makes Armenia chances in fight for 2nd place very complicated.

Mr Freebitcoin encountered a problem: wof and the ticket did not arrive in the mail!
What email provider you're using? I use Gmail and I checked that today's my WoF spin didn't arrived to yet, while usually it arrives somehwere at noon. I wouldn't be concerned, it still can arrive with delay. And if it won't arrive - is it such big deal?
EDIT I got it.

I don't think Ten Hag is a good manager, when he was manager at Ajax it was the players who made him a star. If Manchester United had Ronaldo, I think the squad would have been better. At least they would have kept the ball forward and it wouldn't have been such a problem for them to concede goals.
Ronaldo. Sorry, but with all respect - no. No team in world which play at serious level wouldn't build their team around 38 years old player. No matter how good he was. It's one thing. It's one thing to play in Saudi league and something completely different in EPL - best and most competetive league in the world. And btw, what United achieved when Ronaldo returned to club few years ago?
Can't say much about Ten Hag work at MU as I haven't saw enough their games, but from what I saw in Ajax, it's not right to call him as bad coach. Problem is lying inside the club.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: October 12, 2023, 03:48:43 PM
Maybe it sounds strange, but Faroe Islands - Poland should be very interesting game. It's always difficult to play it in Faroe Islands, Poland is doing very poor in this qualification and they won't have Lewandowski today. IMO, 1.33 odds for their win is way too low.
In early game between Latvia and Armenia I go with BTTS @1.85. Also, going with Romania ML vs Belarus @1.58 and over 2.5 goals in Spain - Scotland and Cyprus - Norway. Croatia - Turkey sounds interesting, but didn't decided yet what bet to make on this game.

Isn't it quite interesting to see the odds of the Spain - Scotland game like this:

- Spain : 1.27
- Draw : 5.80
- Scotland : 12.00

The difference of odds between Spain and Scotland to win is just huge. I mean Scotland are the leading team in their group right now. In addition they beat Spain before also. Of course Spain are a more qualified team on paper and they are playing home here. But I find their odds not worth betting on. It isn't worth taking that risk honestly.

I would rather take a risk by betting on Spain Handicap 0:1 which has 1.83 odds.
I think it's nothing strange that Spain is favoured so much. Yeah, Scotland won previous time, but they played at home, now game is in Spain. And if they would play 10 games, I'm wondering how many games Sctoland would win. 1, maybe 2.

Bayern is also building a new arena, construction will be finished so they can play there next season. It also looks really nice and is a good experience for euroleague basketball. Maybe they will get a final 4 or something to play there soon I think, totally worth it.
And about Madrid vs Dalles, I think it's NBA rules because it's still the "NBA global games". And they play 12 minute quarters so the rest should be NBA as well. Hopefully Madrid can put up a good fight and represent Europe in a good manner.

Yeah, I read about Bayern new arena, Virtus is also planning to enter new arena next year, ASVEL planning to play most part of their games in LDCL arena with 12 000 capacity. Bigger arenas will help clubs to get more revenue from tickets and will make better image for Euroleague. Now I only can't understand how Barcelona, club with A license can play their games in arena that don't meet even minimal Euroleague requirements.
Real - Mavs game wasn't most competetive as Mavs were without Irving, Doncic played just 5 minutes and there was plenty of players with two-way contracts playing big minutes. Real made nice comeback in 4th quarter and laugh of Doncic after Campazzo 3-pointer was moment of game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRfDgzQu8gU. Meanwhile I checked other results and saw that clubs from Australia and New Zealand got destroyed by 40-60 points by NBA clubs, damn, such huge gap of level.
Real have much more important game in Euroleague less than 48 hours later against Efes in Istanbul. Another very interesting game in 2nd round will be between Olympiacos and Barcelona/

Goodbye Mendilibar. It was always coming, wasn't it? Think it was the costly points dropped in La Liga rather than UCL (since they would naturally prefer dropping to Europa, right, haha).

Can't quite decide if now's the time to spam them for a probable string of wins after this, or just bank on them losing until they get a new manager.

Edit: Found out it's Alonso. Don't know much. Meh.
Damn, in recent years Sevilla is changin their managers like socks. They don't give them much time. And it didn't looked that Mendilibar is there for long, he was appointed more just to save 22-23 season. Thisseason start was really disappointing, though, in Europa league everything goes by their plan, as Sevilla is 3rd in group now.
Only thing that I know about Alonso that he didn't managed to get out of group with Uruguay in World Cup. Somehow I doubt that he will be in Sevilla until end of season.
733  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't Stand With Either Palestine Or Israel on: October 11, 2023, 06:00:11 PM
Ukrainians lost families and friends to Russians. They won't start loving Russian all of a sudden.
Palestinians lived every day knowing that Israelis have superior military power and will one day kill them all. They won't stop until there's no Gaza. It may take another decade or another century but the goal for Israel is to exterminate Hamas and make Gaza a part of their country.
I wouldn't compare this conflict with war between Russia and Ukraine. It's much more complicated and have deeper historical background. Both sides have done terrible things and war that we have now was inevitable. And I don't see someone who would be right in this conflict.
Israel and their actions is probably responsible for creation of Hamas. And in all these years whole Gaza was built on hate towards Israel. On the other hand, people in Gaza selected Hamas terrorist to be their legitimate representatives.
734  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gaza Strip People - 2 Millions - No Food, Water, Electricity - Complete Blockade on: October 10, 2023, 07:28:43 PM
I do not think this a correct and measured response by Israel. Just cutting the most essential supplies to a wide population is not a legitimate action in my view and I am not sure what is they expect that will happen as a result of that. They may hope this ends of a quick negotiation of hostages for water and food, but I think their enemy is not particularly concerned with the faith of the general population in the strip,
I'm not saying that's right response and I'm not justifying what Israel is doing. Such blockade can be called as genocide. But what did HAMAS expected when they made attack? That Israel will just tell that they're deeply concerned? Such harsh response was something expected.
HAMAS keep hundreds of Isreael and foreign people as hostages, but it doesn't looks that Israel is much concerned about saving them.

So even though Israel has Air, Land and Sea control of Gaza the people there generally speaking
were able to arm themselves with rockets and guns. Life will be certainly more difficult but the
Palestinians are a tough and proud people.
There is lot of tunnels in Gaza, leading to Egypt which were used to smuggle weapons and various good and bypass blockade in such way.

I think human corridors will be opened for civilians to leave through the Rafah border crossing. Those who stay will be risking their lives.
I doubt about that after Israel madde attacks on Rafah border crossing:

Have question about upcoming season. Maybe it was already asked, but didn't saw it. If late submissions means automatic loss, will we get penalty points for late submissions as we used to get this season?

Because of war in Israel, all their clubs this week games were suspended (Euroleague, Eurocup, Champions league and FIBA Europe Cup) while next week's Maccabi game with Valencia moved from Tel Aviv to Valencia. Maccabi is already training in Cyprus.

There is no Euroleague games tomorrow, but there is friendly game in Madrid between Dallas Mavericks and former Luka Doncic team, Euroleague champions Real Madrid. It should be very interesting, I just don't know whether they will play FIBA or NBA rules.

I also just watched a highlight video of the Red star game from Thursday, their new arena is really nice and the atmosphere was super crazy.

If a NBA team would have to play with this kind of a crowd they would crumble, hahaha.
I will correct you a bit - it's not their new arena, they used to play some big games in Stark Arena in past, but this season they will play all Euroleague games there and they're sharing this arena with Partizan. Great move because atmosphere here is insane. I really would like to see NBA team playing against them there Cheesy.
738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gaza Strip People - 2 Millions - No Food, Water, Electricity - Complete Blockade on: October 09, 2023, 10:23:58 PM
I'm wondering what did HAMAS expected when they started attack against Israel and when they fully depends on supply of food, water, electricity, fuel and etc from Israel. That Israel won't do anything and won't make harsh response? It's nothing surprising that we already hear some talks from them about possible ceasefire.
Worst part of this war that thousands of people in Gaza is affected and they have nowhere to go. Now they only can wait and try to survive another Israel rocket attack. On the other hand, how many of them celebrated mascare of civilians on Saturday when everything started, now probably it's not so fun anymore.
And no, Mediterranean sea water isn't drinkable without Desalination.
739  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't Stand With Either Palestine Or Israel on: October 09, 2023, 10:10:15 PM
I want peace too, billions of people in whole world want peace, but it doesn't really matter what we want. In whole history of humanity, almost whole time there was wars or bigger and smaller conflicts.
I'm not saying that Israel is innocent and there is no right side in this conflict. But what HAMAS did simply can't be justified. Killing innocent civilians, kidnapping women and children. I'm not even talking about what they're doing with dead people. It's difficult to call them as humans. They will pay huge price for what they did, but worst part of it that thousands of innocent people will die.
740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2023/24 on: October 09, 2023, 07:38:44 PM
That was another interesting round with favorites achieving difficult wins. Benfica scored their only goal against Estoril only on 93rd minute. Didn't watched Porto game after they scored early goal, I expected that they will have no problems against Portimonense. But they didn't managed to score more.
Sporting were leading 1:0 against Arouca when Diomande got second yellow card. Score become 1:1 in 2nd half, but then Sporting managed to score goal playing 10 vs 11.
So, they go into international break as league leaders and only undefeated team, Benfica 1 point and Porto 3 points behind.
