I've bought some slim coins and I'd like to try and do some proof-of-burn, can someone give me a brief overview of how to do this? thanks
Open the wallet, stay on the line, waiting. That's proof of stake, there should be a "burn coins" tab, can't access the wallet atm to confirm, but should be something like that. Just choose amount to burn, and click the burn button. If you have more than 20 burned, you'll probably occasionally gain 0.1 coins or so from it like I do. It's not worth it unless you've bought a decent amount. 0.1 coins you talk about are not PoB but PoS or a GUI error.

New wallet synced.
Good! Was that the windows or you compiled yourself? The network was settling down, so it took longer than it should. Try it again, it sync 250 blocks per second now. Also please update any nodes you have. Linux qt wallet, new block propagation seems instant! Why is bitcoin not doing this ? Is there a centralized node that has a list of hashes ? If so can it be decentralized ? I'll compile windows wallet in the morning, mingw wont compile using standard deps. Working nodes : addnode=144.76.238.233 addnode=144.76.238.235 addnode=144.76.238.236 addnode=144.76.238.237 addnode=144.76.238.239 addnode=144.76.238.242 addnode=144.76.238.243 addnode=144.76.238.244 addnode=144.76.238.245 addnode=144.76.238.195 addnode=144.76.139.106 addnode=144.76.139.107 addnode=144.76.139.108 addnode=144.76.139.109 addnode=144.76.139.110 addnode=144.76.139.111

Ok, I just updated the github code. I will be spending some time transitioning my nodes to make sure they signing node isn't overloaded, as it has a few thousand blocks to catch up with. Feel free to update your nodes in the meantime, and when the signing node is ready it will spread the signed hashes throughout the network. Then anybody should be able to run a wallet with minimal RAM requirements. Let me know if there are any bugs or issues.
qt not compiling on linux (both centos and ubuntu 14) /usr/bin/ld: build/sqlite3.o: undefined reference to symbol 'dlclose@@GLIBC_2.2.5' //lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [shinycoin-qt] Error 1 EDIT : Fixed by adding -ldl to line 19 of Makefile : LIBS = $(SUBLIBS) -L/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu -lminiupnpc -lrt -lssl -lcrypto -ldb_cxx -lboost_system -lboost_filesystem -lboost_program_options -lboost_thread -lQtGui -lQtCore -lpthread -ld lDaamn, such contribution..

Everybody looses interest in a coin when primer is involved. Just look at slimcoin for example, as soon as he opens his mouth people start dumping.
The problem with him is that he thinks his few ec2 instances are l33t but he forgets there are enough people here who have (free) University servers to maintain (like me) or are involved with folding projects (friends). Anyway he discourages the dev to keep developing and others simply loose interest because of him and will keep dumping the coin.
Idiot.

How about everyone on this thread yell at primer to cheer sunny up.
I sent 5 SHC to cheer him up

Unknown future!
Unknown indeed... Sad. Innovative coin but incompetent dev. MYR reloaded. Couple more hours of mining and i'm out.

I see the lady, am i neo ??

No PoW block solved by any pool for over 2 hours now. Such difficulty!

Something is not right here, there must be a GPU miner out, miners are dumping for peanuts at bter, 500SLM for 0.08.
No fixes or updates from the dev, I'll be moving on to cryptonight tomorrow...
Take a look at TlasCoin, i was mining that until yesterday, is being minned all by chinese Chinese = gullible ? Released on 4. May, only available on one exchange (unknown, iccurex). No thanks.

Why isn't blockchain explorer?
Make one ? Everyone has to contribute. My contribution is high hash power (unprofitable coin, mining at a loss!!). Missing good marketing/marketer for this coin. First post needs to be rewritten, misleading as it is now... We need an ELI5 (Explain Like I'm 5) for PoW/PoB/PoS... TheRealSteve is fluent in English and good at statistics, he should do it

Someone just sold 1220SLM on bter for 0.25BTC ) Such dumpers. FYI. PoW - 500Hash/s = 140-150SLM/day 500HASH/S How much computer Very much my friend, much expensive too!

Should that be our next move Gatra? Would be nice to implement stratum compatibility directly into the wallet..
it's a posibility, yes. I've been thinking about this and I found no other coin has it. There should be an option to restrict ip, use SSL, and everything like the rpc port has, in order to avoid opening a new attack vector. re-thinking that, we already have getblocktemplate and blocknotify which replace the stratum functionality... maybe we could just add long-polling to getblocktemplate. I'll investigate this possibility, I think there's a standard for long polling in gbt bitcoin does not implement it. What about a stratum to getblocktemplate proxy ? Is it even doable ? I'd love to solo most of the coins i mine, without running a full private pool. Would it be possible to code a stratum to getblocktemplate proxy so i can point my stratum miners to the proxy which is directly connected to the coin wallet ?
