741  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: October 16, 2023, 10:13:23 AM
It's true that investing in Bitcoin is riskier than in real estate. But if we are of investing only what we can afford to lose, I would choose BTC still. Especially at this point, when Bitcoin costs 3 times less than not so long ago. We've been there, BTC was dropping from $20k to $3k, and then rising from there upwards to $70k some years  later. I don't think we can name areal estate that had risen so much in a relatively short period of time.
I agree with you. If you actually think critically about it, if you only have limited extra money as capital for investment it is best to choose Bitcoin. There are only a few good real estate investments that require small capital that falls within the good category that guarantees profit and these days the same goes for business. Hence, for small-time individuals who have a tight budget for investment capital and are not as knowledgeable regarding economics and the current state of the market, it is better to settle for BTC. Such a fact is one of the very reason as to why even students and middle-class individuals are drawn to BTC investments these days.
742  Economy / Economics / Re: Marriage mean double your passive income, rental property mean double your passi on: October 16, 2023, 09:55:40 AM
they prepare them to handle things well so that when they are no more their children will handle things well and the wealth will continue to run in their families and make sure they are well prepared from a particular age. the issue of not all their children not actually follow in their parents' footsteps there are some whose parents are rich in their line of business but the children want to be a musician or something else. and they can not be forced to do anything out of their will. and since people are even getting smarter these days you can not force anyone to marry.

the social impact that she won't be happy and she will have no than to stay at the expense of her happiness, at the end of the day some marriages might work majority fail and once both of them can not take it anymore they will divorce and everyone will stay in there own learn because they started on a wrong footstep been that it was arranged.

Passing on what is owned by the father to the child is an obligation to maintain the family breed for those who own a business. It is not easy to educate children to follow in their father's footsteps because they may have different paths and fathers must see this interest in their children so that they do not appear to be imposing their wishes. If you have several children it might be easy because one of them will definitely have something in common with their father, the father can direct his children's interest in developing another business if they are not interested in the business owned by their father.
You are absolutely right about this. Although many rich parents hope for their children to follow in their footsteps and either take over their company/business one day or take on the same path that they once chose to take, there are of course instances that these children have different dreams and goals they hope to follow. Hence, in an ideal scenario, it would be best for parents to be supportive of this while also guiding their kids to a path that will lead them to financial stability that will still keep the wealth and financial standing of the family. The very reason for this is the risk of any business/company going down if kids are forced to do something they have no care and passion for while if they know that they are being supported they may end up doing well and making a new for themselves in the industry they choose that will either add additional income for the family or create an additional business for them.
743  Economy / Economics / Re: Are short-term rentals to blame for the lack of housing? on: October 16, 2023, 09:31:20 AM
The presence of many room rental applications is certainly the best way for those who want to rent out a room or house. It is natural that many people feel helped by these applications because they can choose the place they want. On the other hand, of course this is a problem for hotel owners which makes the occupancy rate become quiet.
There is no doubt that the existence of Airbnbs and other short rental applications has significantly made it easier for people to get a place for a quick vacation or stay; not only does it make things more convenient as everything they need is on one application, but it also gives the convenience of making a reservation and booking with just a few clicks, unlike the traditional way of either personally going to the place or making a call (a task many of us do not really enjoy). However, in contrast with the convenience it brings us these applications also bring bad sales for hotels and other similar establishments as fewer and fewer guests are interested in staying in their places.
744  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 16, 2023, 09:09:06 AM
At least with your existing skills you can open up employment opportunities for yourself so you can earn extra money. It's not easy to find additional income, but that doesn't mean it's impossible, there are many things you can still do and to manage your finances so that they are stable we don't always have to have a steady job, there are many ways to make money as long as we are willing to do/look for them.
That's true and by having skills we can develop our own business potential even if it is small and in this way our income can increase slightly. If someone wants to try, there must be a way to make money, but because their prestige is greater they prefer to be unemployed rather than trying to find a solution. I also see that the circulation of money in the market is very large and if we just want to sell vegetables we can definitely make money because the market is never empty even if people don't have money.
I understand your point and I honestly agree with you. If an individual really has the drive to find a way to make (additional) income they will somehow find a way to do so despite any discouragement they may get from others. Moreover, small income is still income and there are always available ways to increase it as long as we know how to critically analyze, plan, and put the plans we have into action. The economy is not favorable for most of us due to inflation and we can't really do anything about that state but what we can do is to adjust and find ways to constantly survive. We cannot let ourselves be stuck and just continuously cry and complain as that will obviously take us nowhere.
745  Economy / Economics / Re: What US can do with its dept? Genuine question. on: October 16, 2023, 07:13:29 AM
All governments around the world have huge debts which they will probably never fully pay off which isn't a major issue as long as it doesn't annoy the citizens of their respective countries in the wrong way.

These debts are completely different from home loans, personal loans etc which don't last indefinitely and have a particular expiration time.

I beg to differ, though.
Public debt may be not as obvious as private debt, when comes to the impact it can have on individual citizens and residents, though it can make much of a difference in macroeconomics. Let us consider a simple situation, where a country gets into a governance crisis and even though they can replace their leaders democratically, they still would have a big debt, isolating them from international markets.

I am not read much about it, but it is something like Sri Lanka has gone through, they got their leaders off the country because of their incompetence, and yet need to face a bad economy and their debts.

USA has the advantage of being considered the most reliable borrower on the planet, so theycan ask for as much money as they want
You're absolutely right. Although debts don't have such a big effect or impact on developed countries and their citizens, they can be a problem for developing countries. There are a lot of instances wherein a country that is not as economically established as the US finds itself in various debts that the general public has to make a move to remove various government officials out of there positions. However, in the case of the United States, it is not as big of a problem because of the reputation of the country and the relationship it built throughout the years.

748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Gold, land which better? on: October 16, 2023, 03:44:17 AM
Right now I want your important advice on how to convince them.

The wisest thing for you to do is teach them about bitcoin, because it is very natural that they are afraid to invest in bitcoin because they previously did not believe in bitcoin as a long-term investment.

The average parent in any part of the world is like that, they prefer to invest in what can be seen with the naked eye, such as land and gold. So, your job is only to educate parents first, then leave it to them to make their choice. Actually, your parents and your dreams both have good goals, it's just that the lack of education for your parents makes them doubtful about Bitcoin.
I agree with you, however instead of being too upfront about it OP can do it little by little. Dumping all the information there is to know can be overwhelming for parents and that might even cause another conflict for them to be open to Bitcoin investment. Instead, OP can start with sharing bits of information about it and make their parents curios at first and soon enough the parents will be the one to even start a conversation regarding it.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Inspiring Projects Shaping the Future on: October 16, 2023, 03:29:45 AM
Investment is already the number one answer here. Cryptocurrency or Bitcoin investment allows people to transact with complete anonymity and thus gender discrimination or honestly any form of discrimination happens here.
750  Economy / Economics / Re: These are the top 100 brands by value in 2023 on: October 16, 2023, 02:50:20 AM
I'm not surprised by the list, but I don't understand why the evaluation is so low for some of them. I distinctly remember that some companies got over $1 trillion evaluation on the past, so seeing $300 billion as the top was kind of weird to me. I googled it, and it seems that there are companies (that includes Apple and Microsoft) with over a trillion in evaluation.
I assume the stark difference is due to brand evaluation being different from company evaluation...? Or why is it like that? If it's the same thing, how can the numbers differ so much?
I actually just noticed that too and it is pretty weird that there's such difference and general inaccuracy. Perhaps someone can link a more accurate and updated list with proper evaluation or maybe OP can conduct another research to edit the post.
751  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the need to be known a requirement to qualify for a loan(s)? on: October 15, 2023, 11:56:51 PM
Although I understand where you're coming from, I don't really think it's usual for any lenders to identify who they're lending their money to and verify those identities. I mean just think of it, will you let someone you don't know, a complete stranger, borrow money from you giving you little to no guarantee that they will pay you back? Also, if you really think about it, even with the people we know we have second thoughts on whether we'll lend them money or not due to the risk it gives, what else for a complete stranger?
752  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: October 15, 2023, 11:40:31 PM
I'm pretty sure there are already threads that talks about this topic. I'm sure a lot of answers will just revolve about budgeting, keeping a humble lifestyle, saving, investing, meal planning, and being smart about expenses. I'm too lazy to leave all the threads that asked this very question already but I'm sure it wouldn't take you a few scroll to find them.
753  Economy / Economics / Re: The Kids buying Mcdonald order via BTC on: October 15, 2023, 11:24:18 PM
These kids now adays have got to be with it to keep up. When I was growing up it was right at the start of the cellphone revolution and I was in like 6th grade when I got my first flip phone lol. Crazy times! Its great to hear that young kids through have the knowledge to buy mcdonalds with crypto.
Despite having doubts about what has actually happened regarding the picture, it's true that kids these days are more tech savvy than the past generations and it is always surprising and impressive to see just how much they know when it comes to technology and the internet. Hence, no matter the validity of the pic, it wouldn't be surprising to know that there a number of kids that are knowledgeable about cryptocurrency.
754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting - Asian Market on: October 15, 2023, 03:20:22 PM
There aren't that much crypto bookies in the Asian side of things, and we still use sportsbooks that are based on the US or in the West. If you are a high roller, the best you can do is go to your local casino and ask whether they can refer you to a bookie that can handle your business. Honestly, I'll keep on using Stake or Rollbit if I am not a whale when it comes to betting and I'm just betting modest amounts.
Actually there is trusted and largest crypto casino site in Asia but I haven't used it and have only tried it two or three times and it been quite while so I don't really understand its development at the moment.

But it is true that gambling sites from the US or the West are more popular because they really have large community and are also used by almost all groups of gamblers.
All trusted gambling sites are actually good and can be relied on but their use depends on how comfortable the gambler feels when playing so there will be differences between gamblers as to which site is the best.

Stake, Rollbit and several other big sites here already have very good reputations and trust ratings so the OP might be able to use one of them instead of being confused in looking for sites from Asia.

Perhaps those bookies you're referring to only appear on specific countries and are not really accessible in the entirety of Asia. There are a few that I know of, but they can only be accessed in China. There are some that are pushed by online influencers, though I do not trust these platforms at all. I'd rather play with Western platforms and do KYC than deposit my money into a platform that isn't even well-known in my region.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul Vs Dillon Dannis and KSI vs Tommy Fury Today! Oct 14th on: October 15, 2023, 02:45:42 PM
I take back what I said for Dillon. The man knows how to fight, but not to box. He's in there to just grapple Logan and hopefully get him to submission but that's not what boxing is all about. The 'fight' is too short-lived and really not entertaining thay I'd rather go to Twitter and watch some street brawl footages. Dillon oversold himself, and he's just not that guy who can throw hands and actually win with it.

As for KSI v Tommy Fury, idk what KSI is trying to do. He can throw punches, but he's looking to wrestle at the same time. I was clueless the whole time but whatever. Unfortunate for those who paid to watch this event. It's a shitshow at best.
756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 15, 2023, 02:33:55 PM
Playing something even if it's not gambling during work hours is definitely the best possible way to lose a job FAST. I don't really know why you get to ask these very weird questions. I mean, why would anyone in their sane mind will decide to just randomly gamble at their workplace? What difference will it make when you gamble at home? If you have a poor work ethic, quit the job and do something else that would make you money, then gamble to your heart's content.
757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play equal to deposited funds before you can withdraw on: October 15, 2023, 01:47:08 PM
This is actually one of the most common things you will see in different gambling platforms. A wagering requirement is not something that will harm actual gamblers of the casino. It's in place to make sure that money laundering will not happen and that fraudsters will not use their platform for these kinds of things. If you're looking to use the casino as your personal mixer, then those days are over. If you deposit your money, best use it because that's the only reason why a person would deposit some money in the casino.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 15, 2023, 01:17:24 PM
So, yesterday afternoon, a man bet on a midnight game and the game played accordingly as predicted, but the surprising thing was that the betting agent ran away with the money the man won, and the betting agent is no where to be found.
@rachael9385, for me it's not an oddity, we often find agents like that in illegal gambling shops, generally occurs in lottery betting, sports are also targeted by related illegal agents.

However, not all agents act dishonestly in betting, there are also those who are honest, they stick to their commitments and are responsible for all winnings, of course, as you said, there are also quite a few agents who take the money and run.

I have seen several cases of agents running away, most of them were reported to the authorities, if you are one of their victims/agents, just report it to the authorities for embezzling money and opening an illegal gambling shop, so that the agent will be arrested and brought to justice.

This is easier said than done. Scammers and fake agents are now smart and are most probably using fake identities in order to perpetuate their scams. I wouldn't be confident in taking these crooks into justice without learning of their ways first and how they really operate. It's always a nice habit to know who you are giving your money to, in this instance it's a gambling shop. Get to know the people around you, dig some information and keep your mouth shut that you know these things so if worse comes to worst, you have something that you can use against them and report them to the right authorities.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The International 12 [Dota 2, eSport] discussion thread on: October 14, 2023, 11:27:17 PM
Anyone notice the visual bug on Liquipedia for Team Spirit vs Shopify? I was checking the tipster provide by Rand and it’s odd to see Alliance on the list while they are not a TI participants.  Grin

Anyway any risk taker to bet +1.5 to Shopify? They manage to get one games on both their matches on the Riyadh Masters. I think this pick make since Shopify usually get 1 game on any of their opponents. Thoughts?
Not worth it. They arent playing well in the first place and they are up against the undefeated team Spirit. It should be an entertaining contest but I think they need a miracle(pun intended) to take a game off of team Spirit. Or they have to heavily outdraft them.

To be fair. Shopify has the chance to get game 1 with their early lead. They almost have the complete control over the map. I’m not sure what RTZ thinking for buying Midas while they are on lead instead of focusing on damage items or BKB which he badly needed. He is back again on farming game mentality.

Shopify is great team if they will have a better carry. Abed talent is wasted on team like this which can’t be rely on late game despite with a good early start. RTZ gameplay is so outdated. His game style is like the old chinese meta which is a farming game until late game before he become aggressive despite they have the lead. I dodge this bullet bet tonight. Cheesy

Buying Midas while leading is actually a good way to extend the lead even further, especially if the hero has a lot of pushing power or benefits from the attack speed. With his TB in game 1, I guess he became overconfident on the rotations that his team is making against TS. I mean, they were 13-0 on the first 20 minutes of the game. That's the thing though, he never though that TS could easily target him in a clash, and the opposing team is ready to throw bodies in order to just get him in that clash and gain a huge exp and gold swing. If he skipped Midas, went straight Manta to BKB, they could have had a huge pushing pressure against TS, but it seems that Artour is still busy farming up until the last second of that first game. Roll Eyes
