This helped me with replacing a fan on a 5870.  I ordered the wrong fan and had to cut the tab that holds down the wires.  Some epoxy helped.  Grin

Isepick and I have come to an agreement on the sale of these 20 cards.  Our agreement is outlined below:

Graet (Ozcoin pool operator) will be acting as escrow agent.

These are the terms we have agreed to.

Quote
20 gpus consisting of:
6 – Gigabyte GV-R5850OC-1GD
5 – Sapphire 5850 Xtreme
4 – Sapphire 5850 Xtreme
1 – XFX 585X-ZAFC
4 – Asus EAH 5850 Direct CU
2 – MSI R5850 Twin Frozr II
2 – ATI Reference 5850
1 – XFX  HD-585X-ZNFV

All in working condition. All will be supplied with original packaging and accessories. All gpus except for 5 units will be shipped with original packaging and accessories.

1 of the 6 Gigabyte GV-R5850OC-1GD is out to RMA and will be shipped when it returns from RMA.

Agreed upon price 600 BTC for all 20 listed GPUs which includes UPS shipping to Illinois.  Tracking number to be provided to escrow agent and buyer upon shipment.
Seller will ship 19 GPUS now and 1 GPU when received back from RMA.

Items will be shipped when escrowee confirms receipt of 570BTC by escrowee.
Escrowee will release 570BTC to seller when items are received by buyer and confirmed in good condition, not to exceed 12 hours after UPS states that items were delivered.
Buyer will most likely be able to test all 19 gpus within 3-4 hours after receipt.

The 20th GPU will be shipped when escrowee confirms receipt of 30 BTC.
Escrowee will release 30 BTC to seller when items are received by buyer and confirmed in good condition, not to exceed 12 hours after UPS states that items were delivered.
Buyer will most likely be able to test 1 gpus within 1-2 hours after receipt.

The buyer will have the right to refuse delivery of any GPU that is found to be defective or fails to mine at stock speeds. GPU will be returned to seller and escrowee will refund 30 BTC + 2 BTC (from proceeds of GPUs that are good) for reimbursement of return shipping to buyer. Claim for a defective or non-capable mining card must be made within the 12 hours after UPS states delivery of said GPU was made.

Edit: 5 GPUs do not have original packaging
Edit: 1 of the sapphire 5850 extremes is a XFX 585X-ZAFC

I have this card and highly recommend it.  When deciding to buy it, it seemed to be the best card among the "regular" priced cards.  Fan is very quiet even up to 60% and keeps temperatures low.  Max OC WITHOUT adjusting voltage was 1175 stable.  1212mhz would run for a few minutes but eventually crash.  With voltage bumped I bet it would go higher, but I am trying to keep temperature below 60C at all times to increase the lifespan of the card.  That said, it's the only 7970 I have bought so I don't have another card to directly compare to.

hash rate at 1175?

$600 per rig plus shipping. That's what it costs me to build a 1.2GH rig.

770  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: April 20, 2012, 03:19:12 PM
BAMT "from the box" does not work with 6900 series? Sytem sees them ok, but BAMT - not. ((

You were answered in the BAMT .5 thread.  69xx gpus work fine with BAMT.  Speaking from experience.

Best advice IMO: When you get it working, stop fuxing with it.

I believe this is rule #2 of BAMT Wink
774  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Sapphire 5850 Fan Dead on: March 15, 2012, 03:01:14 PM
12 hours and still going strong.  It looks like the Tri-Flow did the trick.  I plan to reapply at the 24 hour mark as abracadabra suggested.

Just an update for anyone who finds this thread..

It's been about a month and both fans are still doing great.  I'm really glad I decided to fix these myself.

Good job!  All mine are running fine.  I think it's been over 6 weeks now for the first one I did.  No problems whatsoever.
775  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! [GLBSE] on: March 14, 2012, 10:28:29 PM
The expected generation output, from 1600 Mhps, at current difficulty 1496978.5950256, is 1.075 BTC per day

266.67 shares per gpu cluster (assuming $600 for the board and 2.25/share)
so 266.67 shares get to share in 1.075 BTC/day
Those 266.67 shares would cost you 133.335 BTC (sale price of .5BTC/share)
Payback period = 124.03 days

assuming a $4.5/BTC price level, my payback period on a 1250MH rig is about 177 days

Interesting..
776  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Radeon HD5830 Power comsuption? on: March 14, 2012, 02:41:55 PM
5830 TDP spec is 175W.

I have 4x5830 rigs, mobo/sempron 145/1gig ram all pulling about 675W-700W
777  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! [GLBSE] on: March 14, 2012, 01:16:32 PM
What is the expected return (assuming current PPS/difficult rates, and current cost of the hardware) for a single share?
778  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: March 10, 2012, 05:39:53 PM
It is likely that you are on the very edge of stability
Earlier this rig worked with large clock permanently without problem.

So shall see...

Please don't make assumptions like this.  Just because something worked before on something else, doesn't mean it'll work now with something completely different.

780  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: March 04, 2012, 12:09:33 AM
I made some syntax mistake in the bamt.conf file and the gpumon doesn't start (I get that funny error message), so I wanted to edit the file at etc/bamt/bamt.conf but.. why do I have writing permission disabled? I'm logged as a root and did not change any permissions, only thing I did was set a password. Any ideas?

I had the Live/Image locked as read only for some reason once too... That it readable by windows, so I plugged it into windows and deleted the file I needed to and then it was mount read-write next time I booted BAMT... However, since you want to edit the /etc/bamt/bamt.conf, Windows wont e able to read that... in that case, here are some things to try... might not be the best answer, but would give you something to do until someone else answers... I assuming you are using a USB drive?  If so:

Do you have another box running BAMT?  If so, you can stick the USB drive in there and try to edit the file....
If not, do you have a spare USB drive?  If so, you can load another BAMT default image on it to boot the computer, then stick your other drive in and modify the file.
Finally, a more complicated way if you only have one rig and one USB drive.... you could download vmware player (free) and load some small version of linux on it (I used Puppy slackware since its pretty small), and plug the usb drive into your computer and you should be able to modify it from there.

You can utilize the FROM and TO directories in windows to edit/modify the bamt.conf file.

they can be found at \BAMT\CONFIG

FROM = the existing bamt.conf used on the image.
TO = the bamt.conf the image will pull to use on next mine start

\BAMT also contains 2 other useful directories.  CONTROL and STATUS.  All described in the readme.txt in the \BAMT directory.

You'll need to use an editor on windows that doesn't add a CR/LF to the end of the line, or use a hex editor.
