761  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a 20% Annual Return good ? on: October 12, 2023, 12:48:03 PM
I was not saying is not but it was more than enough to consider in trading. If someone got it to work consistently, then you can imagine yourself becoming rich a few years from the time you started. But the question is if that really exists in trading. Because with the volatility of the market and especially when bearish comes to happen, you can never expect such ROI. I would tell you OP that no matter what we do, we can't say there is consistency in trading. You may gain huge today but not sure by tomorrow and in the following days, it might be a big loss.
762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 12, 2023, 11:40:31 AM

I think I’ll reiterate this popular opinion: Bitcoin trading isn’t for newbies.
It’s always best to learn from someone’s mistakes so when  the majority of opinions from other members recommends gaining more knowledge and experience, the last thing you should feel is discouraged.

It was not just learning from someone's mistake but our personal mistakes. And it is not just we learn but have to do something to avoid such events. Most newbies come to invest with empty knowledge about it and no wonder why they will lose. We often give advice to DYOR, spend time learning to trade, don't rush- and all we did are a sort of investment warnings but too unfortunate that many we're tend not to listen but instead make their own way.

If they only just know how risky Bitcoin investment is, I could imagine that only a few people could take it. But it is not what we see, more and more newbies come because of this - "instant profit" which is circulated on the internet.

Quote
I'm sure the Bucks' three-point shooting is going to be their best weapon, considering the size of the Lakers, so I guess they'll stick to what they're good at, especially Lillard.
Do you expect Giannis to focus on rebounding and not run much offense on the inside? Dame will definitely have his usual shots behind the arc but I'm actually expecting more of slicing and dicing from him. The Lakers will probably do the same so I'm looking forward to a physical game.
No way it's gonna be focus on 3-point shooting game for the Bucks, that's for sure. They can shoot from beyond the arc, but when it comes to Giannis, he's the "Greek Freak" for a reason. He knows how to own the paint, and he's in his prime, so that makes the Bucks way more unpredictable. Plus, they've got Lopez, who's a towering 7-footer, so they don't have any size disadvantages going on.

Now, the Lakers, on the other hand, struggle with those three-pointers. They're more likely to go hard in the paint, 'cause their 3-point game isn't strong.
764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 11, 2023, 11:17:57 AM
Odds are already out and it seems bookies are predicting that this would end via knockout so let us guess what round it may be.

Unlike Nghitumbwa, Oguni is very silent and secretive about his training camp and not so vocal about this fight so i think he is intimidated by Casimero. Since it is very hard to predict on what round this will end, i will just bet that this fight will reach over 6.5 with that @1.91 odds.

Just as anticipated, the odds have been released in advance of tomorrow's fight. I'm quite interested in observing how Casimero plans to defeat Oguni. He's the clear favorite, judging by the odds but odd is attractive on winning by decision. The probability of that happening seems quite low. So, it's either he faces the risk of losing if the fight goes to the judges' scorecards, possibly due to hometown bias, or he might secure a victory by knocking out Oguni.

The over 6.5 rounds option is tempting, but, to be honest, I'm more inclined to take a chance on odds greater than 1.91, but I wanna say good luck to you.
765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling vs trading on: October 11, 2023, 10:25:47 AM
...
With all these being  said it is important to note that hodling shitcoin is not advisable due to their exponentially high volatility which may lead to severe loss if not properly managed.
Trading and hodling is always a choice as they indirectly serve as balance to the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Some might be got into that situation but have learned already and besides, nobody will be able to hold for nothing.
Some people will choose to hold crypto rather than get into trading because they know themselves that they are not fit to trade. Of course, there is no reason to do that either if we know that we just lose while holding gives us of what we aim for. Well, holding is the best option I see...less risk, less possible chances of losing but most of all, we have a big chance to earn more.
766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future of cryptocurrency?? on: October 11, 2023, 09:29:12 AM
The future is how well you play it because everything is in your hands. You have the opportunity to make money or lose money. Which would you choose?

I choose to win all the time. That's why I never joke with any opportunity coming. Earn passively and trade too. Do some little tasks to earn a reward too. Even using some good exchange products like smart trends to assist in this.
No time for excuses
You have to be realistic enough, there is no winning all the time even if you are professional in any case. There will definitely be some mistakes or losses from several opportunities taken. Trading means you will not only gain profits, losses are also certain. But what is important is how you can maintain a ratio of profits greater than losses in order to gain profits from the trading activities carried out.
That is why even earning just a few $$$ is going to be considered as we are uncertain if we can do it someday. As the future of crypto is likely uncertain, we have to take the opportunity now while there is still a chance, or else, we gonna missed it at all.
I have invested a few coins, known coins, and hold them for some reason and would sell them as well for some reason. That is why I couldn't conclude that I'll be holding for long as it depends on the market situation but there is one thing that I was certain and that is to sell them with profit.
767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 11, 2023, 05:24:57 AM
Gambling is indeed not anybody's mate. After you might have finished with your prediction and thought you have predicted the best thing, you will still see yourself losing that same game. And it is more painful when almost all your games have played, except one, which will eventually cut you and deprive you from making a huge amount of money,it might be enough to make a woman cry because they don't really know how difficult it is to make money.
It will be good that if one is finding it difficult to win games,he or she should just quit, because it is no doubt that there are some persons that gambling does not favour at all,and nomatter how they try,it won't just work for them.

What I've gleaned from gambling is the importance of learning how to gracefully accept defeat. It doesn't imply that we should quit gambling when we're losing money. After all, the responsible approach is to wager only what we can afford to lose, and if we're acting responsibly, we should recognize that losses are an inherent part of the game.

Expressing distress over losses essentially reveals that we've been gambling with funds we couldn't afford to lose, which is a prime example of irresponsible gambling.

Furthermore, shedding tears on social media seems quite unreasonable. What's the purpose behind that? Is it to garner sympathy or to condemn gambling altogether?
768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 11, 2023, 04:51:23 AM
For those who are waiting some updates on the fight, it says that it could be around Mid December,

Quote
“One week of intense training has ended,” Inoue stated in a post, accompanied by a photo sporting a chiseled physique alongside his team members. “I had a good training session and am ready to switch on for December.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/inoue-one-week-intense-training-ended-ready-switch-on-december--178188

So it's good to hear that this fight is still a go. Because there have been some doubts earlier, regarding the purse split and that the camp of Tapales didn't accept the offer. So maybe there is some stipulations on the contract and most likely the Tapales camp has agreed in terms.

What would be these stipulations? I speculate that it will depend on the event's sales and revenue. If it is more than what the have expected, they might give more money for Tapales' purse. I reckon Tapales should also gamble on himself that the organizers should add money in his purse if the fight ended over 10.5 rounds or reduce the money if under hehe.

Tapales might be underestimated for this fight. I am not predicting that he will be victorious, however, this fight might become similar to Naoya vs. Nonito 1.

When it comes to the purse, I doubt they'll spill the beans publicly, but I'm thinking it'll be fair for Tapales once this fight gets the green light. Now, hoping for this fight to be like Inoue vs. Donaire 1? Well, I'm not so sure. Inoue and Tapales, they've got their own unique styles in the boxing game, and their confidence levels, well, they're on different wavelengths.

I mean, Donaire was a superstar in his own right, reigning in the bantamweight division before Inoue handed him that tough loss. So, expecting a replay of that epic showdown might be a bit of a stretch.

However, Tapales caused an upset by winning the other 2 super bantamweight championships by split decision vs. the undefeated boxer from Uzbekistan. I reckon fans might have their heads shaking after the fight hehehe. Also, everyone knows already that Naoya Inoue is the favorite, however, I am only implying that Tapales should not be underestimated.

Totally get what you're saying! Comparing Tapales to Uzbekistan is one thing, but putting him up against Inoue is a whole different ball game. Inoue's a global boxing sensation, no doubt about it. Uzbekistan's champ, while solid, hasn't quite hit that superstar status yet. So, if Tapales had to really grind it out for a split decision against the Uzbek, he better be ready to kick it up a notch facing Inoue – that's a whole new level of challenge right there!
769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Crypto gambling on: October 10, 2023, 10:07:02 AM
Does anyone here really utilize these online crypto casinos to place bets in bitcoin and have you had much luck with it? What have you found to give you the best odds in winning? Is there any skill involved in any of their games or is it all purely chance?

It probably depends on the game. For instance, when there's a high house edge, especially in games like roulette, it's pretty much considered a luck-based game. That means you don't need skills to win; you just have to be lucky.

Now, if you're thinking about expecting consistent wins, well, I'd say that's a bit delusional and unrealistic. Just because you experience a win doesn't mean you'll win the next time. Most of the time, the house edge ends up being the winner, and we're not on that side.

The "skill" in playing casino games is to make yourself lose less than what you would have actually lost if you continued playing. I mainly play Craps, which could be played by using "strategies", but because of the house edge, all Craps players are long term losers regardless of the strategy used. If you are in any profit after playing your whole deposit, then consider it lucky day.

IE if you deposit $100.00 and play Craps for $1.00 per throw for 100 throws, after going through your $100.00 and you have at least $1.00 profit, you withdraw no matter how you feel and do it again the next day.
I guess games can vary a lot from one another. When you mention a "house edge," it becomes really tough to come out ahead in the long run. Even in games with a house edge of less than 1%, winning consistently can feel almost impossible. Sure, there are those moments of luck when we stop and enjoy our winnings, but more often than not, we find ourselves back at it the next day, and sadly, the outcome tends not to be the same all the time so we lose.

Now, when it comes to skills, poker and sports betting are a different story. I do believe it's possible to win in these areas. What do you think?

Looks like Adrien Broner is making a comeback! I honestly thought his career was done after that Pacman fight, but I did some digging into his boxing record, and he's got two consecutive wins via unanimous decisions against Jovanie Santiago and Bill Hutchinson. Now, it's not a championship fight, but I couldn't help myself from starting this thread. I find Adrien Broner to be a really interesting boxer, and the way I see it, he might just be gearing up for another shot at a championship bout in the future.

The guy's already 34 years old, right smack in the middle of his career, but this journey could be his last shot to see if he's still got what it takes to be a champ again.

In the Welterweight division, under WBC, he's currently ranked at 15. It's probably not going to be an easy journey for him if he wants to become the mandatory challenger but probably Crawford possibly moving up in weight by that time already, so who knows.
772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tszyu vs. Mendoza Confirmed for WBO Title Showdown on October 15th on: October 10, 2023, 02:08:52 AM
Tim Tszyu is the defending champion and will be fighting in his own backyard. Both fighters have a similar level of competition but Tszyu is undefeated. They each have a similar knockout percentage. It looks like an evenly matched fight but Tszyu is the more talented fighter and I expect him to get the win. With Charlo still holding the other three belts, it would be logical to see him face the winner.
It kind of depends on the quality of the opponent, you know? Tszyu's taken on some tough fighters before becoming champ. But who can say for sure? Mendoza's still a quality fighter. And if you check out the odds set by the bookies, it's pretty clear that Tszyu's the big favorite here. I mean, as a heavy favorite, those odds aren't all that attractive anymore, right?

I'm not entirely sure. When we look at the quality of opponents for both fighters, they've both faced some good ones. But it might just come down to personal judgment, like they say, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder.' It's not directly related, but it's kinda like how we all interpret things differently, so we might not necessarily agree.

Now, speaking of heavy favorites, it's pretty obvious that Tszyu is the one in this case. However, that doesn't automatically guarantee his victory. Remember, odds can be deceiving. Sometimes they're overvalued, and that's exactly why the public can easily fall into the trap.

I agree, Bay Area really bring another level of entertainment a kind of competition that push the level of competition inside PBA has been challenge, I like the way Gin kings play them, though catching that last statement about how the refs help the home team, that's no secret on it, kind of moving back to Bay Area if only they did not disband, I'm looking to see if how SMB will challenged them, with the healthy JMF and TR7 I'm pretty sure there are lots of fans who are also interested to see them competing, sad to say that they will not come back and maybe PBA governors will find another new challenger as visiting team.

It is sad to note that visiting team/teams will spend tons of money on hotels plus their salaries, that is the reason why the Bay Area Dragons disbanded but i think PBA is working on bringing other teams to the league as guests as that makes the PBA exciting to watch if the guest is also a strong team like the BAD.

In terms of hotel expenses, it doesn't seem like a significant cost. The host league could potentially cover all those expenses, except for the players' salaries. That's just my suggestion, considering this is a business venture. If the players can bring in more revenue to the league than the league would spend, it's still a win-win situation for both parties.

But based on the articles that I'd read months ago, hotel expenses and salaries were some of the reasons why they disbanded by you also got a point that the league that they were part of was no longer profitable, I mean the gate attendance is not enough to run the league, just my thought though as I might be wrong in this assumption.
I reckon your point carries more weight since you've got it from an article, but for me, it's kinda just a hunch that their issues might run deeper. When they came over to the Philippines and started playing, I'm not really sure about the deal they had, 'cause it's like, way beyond their usual league. They might have been raking in some serious cash from what the league pulled in during that specific conference, though.

Meanwhile, let us guess who these players that Boss Al Chua said were asking too much money to play for Gilas, two players he said.

Is he talking about the players who scored gold in the Asian Games? Or is he referring to the ones who didn't make the cut because of that problem?

So, I don't believe it's solely the issue of player salaries. The bigger concern might be the overall expenses that BAD (or any team) may not be able to offset with fan attendance. After all, fans are the primary reason a team becomes profitable.

Does anyone know when the PBA resumes?

It's November 5 based on the article shared by @Distinctin.

I guess now they'll take a breather and get ready for the PBA comeback. By the way, here's the heads up to when the new season will start.

Quote
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 48 is set to kick off on November 5, 2023 instead of its originally planned start date of October 15. Season 48 commences with the Commissioner's Cup, and there will be no guest team participating in the import-laden conference. This decision follows the East Asia Super League (EASL) announcement that their team, the Bay Area Dragons, has been disbanded after just one season, leaving the original 12 local teams.

775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I understand meme coin good or bad position? on: October 08, 2023, 10:00:04 AM
How can I understand a meme coin's position in the current market? Is there any way to tell if it will be good or bad? I have seen MEXC exchange add many meme tokens daily. How to identify a good token from here?
The growth of meme coins is only driven by hype and when the hype explodes then the meme coins will have no value in the market, meme coins are lucky coins so we cannot identify which coins are good to invest in because almost all of them do not offer us any real use and have no fundamentals so we often see these coins suffering in the market. My advice, if you don't want to experience losses, you should stay away from meme coins, especially now that the Crypto market is in a bearish condition.
I can say that hyped projects are meant good for the short-term only. In fact, it has been proven already that many people got into it and earned huge profits which drives courage in the community. As we can see, people are looking for other meme coins, quite they have been into such trust and confidence. Unfortunately, those who come late struggle with the consequences and lose their money. Definitely, we can never say if it was totally good or it was bad, that will depend on what we experience.

If I earned a profit from investing in these meme coins, I would certainly be saying it was a good investment but if not, I surely hate them.
776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I can’t cope on my own. What do you think I should do? on: October 08, 2023, 05:16:06 AM
Hey OP, chill out a bit. Don't put all your faith in what you see or what these folks are pitching to you. You've gotta think long-term, but keep it real, ya know? Since we're talking sports betting here, I assume you're already gearing up for a journey that's gonna take a while.

Now, let's not get started on that 80% winning rate stuff, 'cause that just can't hold up forever. The law of averages is gonna kick in sooner or later. And from what I know, there's no sports bettor out there with an 80% win rate. That's off the charts, nearly impossible. Even 70% is pushing it, honestly. It's more like aiming for that sweet 65%, which can still bring in some good cash.

When it comes to your bankroll, start with a solid one and get the hang of bankroll management. That's a game-changer on this journey. All you gotta do is stay consistent with your picks, and remember that 65% win rate. That's the secret sauce.

To get the lowdown on bankroll management, just do a little digging. YouTube's got tons of videos on the topic.

In less than a month, we'll be getting back into the PBA action, and I'm super stoked! Finally, we get to see the new talents who got drafted this year in action. They had to push the start date because they were giving priority to international competitions, but since there's nothing on the international front, it looks like nothing's gonna hold back the return of the PBA.

Sadly, we won't be seeing the BAD this season since the team's been disbanded. I'm sure fans would have loved to welcome them, especially after they gave the Ginebra Gin Kings such a tough challenge in their first attempt. But hey, I'm still hoping for some top-notch entertainment, maybe even more than before!

779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I choose Bitcoin on: October 08, 2023, 03:09:57 AM
It's wise to be cautious of any investment opportunities that promise guaranteed returns or high-interest rates, as they could be scams or fraudulent schemes. Always do thorough research and consider the potential risks and rewards before making any investment decisions.

Furthermore, diversifying your investment portfolio and not putting all your funds into a single asset or platform can help mitigate risks associated with the potential shutdown of a particular service or platform. It's essential to make informed and responsible investment choices.
That is why we should spend time searching and digging into a certain platform that offers huge ROI because most of them are false promises.
Well, choosing a single asset is not really a wise choice but investing in Bitcoin seems to be the safest one rather than choosing altcoins. In this case, I'd rather take the opportunity to invest solely in Bitcoin than have it shared with altcoins. Another reason is that investing in Bitcoin is not stressful, as long as we hold and keep our keys safely, we are secure and sure of profit gains.

780  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is regulation of cryptocurrency exchanges essential for mass adoption? on: October 07, 2023, 03:45:24 PM
It was not necessary for now but if we are talking and aiming for mass adoption, that is somewhat important and a must, as I believe.
We can consider that "crypto regulation" is a contributing factor that would affect the mindset of the people and gain trust. With this regulation, people have the confidence that the government is supporting this and whatever it happens, the authorities will help us.

Yes, many individuals are still doubtful about the capability of Bitcoin and one reason is a blatant scams happen to many exchanges I think, regulations will help to protect us and these scammers will stop.
