Where do you get Micheal Moore from?
Seriously...
Why not? Have you seen Capitalism: A Love Story? He's not against capitalism, just the cronie-capitalism practiced today. I don't think he would be a good proponent of Bitcoin because I doubt he would understand it before it is accepted by a critical mass market. We need someone like Woz to give Bitcoin street cred. We'll probably have to settle for fringe types like Ron Paul for awhile.

Kudos to Max Keiser and Rick Falkvinge for jumping on the Bitcoin wagon. Nothing great was ever achieved without taking a chance. They both have the insight to see the problems and how to work toward a real world way to fix them. They help give Bitcoin more legitimacy. Now we need to take it to the next level. We need someone that can get the attention of the whole world. We need someone that can face criticism and know that it is all baseless fear mongering.
My first choice is Banksy. But there are others that would do well to support Bitcoin development. Gavin and the Bitcoin dev team need help! You know that Bitcoin is the answer to fixing the corruption in large financial transactions. You probably feel like most celebrities that don't want to take a chance with taking sides on a controversial subject. That's why I think you have it all over Michael Moore to show that a grass roots effort can shake the world of big banks. We don't need people marching on Wall Street, we need people using Bitcoin. Your artistic voice can show in one powerful image more than any book or movie how a single individual to make a difference.
We need hackers. Plain and simple. We don't need corporate groupthinkers that develop short term profit centers. We need inspired software artists like Satoshi. They are out there. They know what Bitcoin is and what it is capable of, but they haven't the time to put into developing long ranged projects. Many of them are romantic artists like yourself that are willing to sacrifice their careers to have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to help with a true revolution. They need a leader with the human spirit of progress to help them unify their collective efforts to craft a new future.
Michael Moore might one day make a documentary about Bitcoin, but right now the medium we need is on the streets.

They are probably going to announce who Satoshi is OR finally reveal "Tom Williams".
Or that they are one and the same. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif)

I am very much opposed to the idea of promise-to-pay Bitcoins... perhaps that mtgox's redeemable codes are a step in that direction??
Agreed. We definitely need private key importing into a local client, preferably a smartphone app.

The safest would be a proof-of-work that requires both GPU and CPU. I hardly think that computers with a decent GPU don't have a decent CPU, so this wouldn't improve anything. Only exception is these GPU-Supercomputers, but they won't be included in botnets. Depends how it's done. Instead of perfoming SHA256 and Scrypt in series, you could use just SHA256 for even blocks and just Scrypt for odd blocks. This would ensure that ordinary users still get a chance at defending the chain, while making it hard for CPU botnets. When enough money is involved, hardware developers will build GPU cards that handle other encryption schemes. Let's just stick with SHA256 until we need something more powerful.

Bitcoin is made for social networking. Think of the possibilities. Microtransactions required to post would squelch spam and financially support the network. Advertisements would be superfluous. 'Like' buttons would reward some small amount. Business Businesses would find each other more easily without worrying about a lot of noise.

Bitcoin and laser beams just seem so right together. If only we could get Unwanted Hair Removal services to accept Bitcoin. Imagine the possibilities.

Or in Pattaya at a Bitcoin convention.

Didn't the internet crash in 2000? It's all a bunch of hype used for child pornographers and Nigerian scammers.

An observation evoked an idle musing. Bitcoin started to be taken seriously at a parity of 1 USD. It then saw an awakening that lead to a peak of 31 USD. It then fell to around 1/10 of that between 1 and 3.1 USD. Speculators love orders of magnitude leveraging at increments of 10x but Bitcoin seems to respond to PI ratios. Let's look for the next bubble to go beyond 10*PI and then another 10*PI or around 9-10K USD. That liquidity should serve the geek market for development of new online apps. The next wave of development into sophisticated everyday useful finacial vehicles should take Bitcoin to another 10*PI or around 300K USD. After that, when fiat currencies are replaced by cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin will be worth the equivalent of another 10*PI or around 10M USD.
Sir, you have a sample size of exactly 1 (or 2 depending on how you look at it). HUGE, eh? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) edit: I should note that pi is roughly the square root of 10. Before anyone beats me to it: [photo snipped] Yes, PI is roughly the square root of ten. Interesting. Anyway, computing the predictability of a complex market adapting to bitcoin is hard to gauge. I suspect it will parallel the growth of internet bandwidth traffic. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fencrypted-tbn3.google.com%2Fimages%3Fq%3Dtbn%3AANd9GcQL6eVB2O-08GYGP3GMLfcW0OYzbKSw5NYugHfUGgFDuijtO3ww&t=663&c=THcDjJI4m3cq8Q)

Here's a pic. It's very basic. It would be nice if someone could design something as simple as this as a give away that looks a little better. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Ffarm8.staticflickr.com%2F7149%2F6422687177_45e809118e.jpg&t=663&c=np2FUhOD3EZEvg)
