781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you sell a million dollars bag of crypto? Would you trust exchanges? on: November 07, 2019, 06:44:15 AM
Just wondering if I want to sell significant amount of crypto, where can I do it ? By significant I mean $250,000+ of crypto.Would you trust Binance / okex / huobi to return their money to you , and how law can protect us from being scammed?

To be sincere, this is a huge amount and must be handled with all carefulness. Considering the fact that risks abounds I think it is far better splitting the money across most top exchanges and selling as small as possible. No exchange is trustworthy or safe, we only try our best to play along. So split your funds across various exchanges, it's better that way.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Turkey working on their own digital by end of 2020 on: November 07, 2019, 06:39:38 AM
Well this is a good news however one needs to fully understand the working principles of these countries digital currency so that one won't end up loosing all privacy etc. From another angle, this will give or throw more limelight to the crypto space and when people gets educated and finds out Bitcoin is better it will attract more growth to the crypto space. Furthermore, I think other countries will also be thinking of creating theirs because no one will like to lose out.
783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Withdraw your funds from the top 10 Exchange now !!! on: November 07, 2019, 06:35:34 AM
this is a warning !!!
Top 10 big exchanges is the next target hackers !!!
good luck, and be careful Smiley

In as much as I find it extremely difficult to believe but I have been of the notion that keeping funds in exchanges isn't a good idea. The hack on Binance months ago shows that no exchange is safe and therefore the only place to keep our funds safe is in private wallet. Lastly, I will urge you to be careful of the way you spread news or informations like this without any legit source it doesn't spell good at all.

785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts you won't invest in on: October 04, 2019, 12:33:07 PM
A lot of discussions on forum are all about "what coin should I buy? Why?"
Here's the opposite - I want to ask what alts you would never buy and why so.

My example:
Never buy BTT, Tron, Stellar and other coins where the tokens are giving away with all kinds of airdrops. Why? Emission grows with no influx of investors.
Doubting about Peercoin. Hybrid emission system doesn't seem reliable too, though lately PPC began spreading itself via well-known exchanges (changheangel or changelly - don't remember).
+ Libra. Not sure if any explanation needed.

In as much as I believe almost 90% of altcoins are not worthy of investing I do not believe that TRX and XLM should be in that category. Your only reason for adding them in that category is because of their giveaway or airdrop, which I don't see anything wrong with it, what of those which aren't doing Airdrop whhy aren't they performing well? The issue here isn't the airdrop but the team and if they are still working hard like before or if they are tired; and this is why most projects are lagging behind while most are performing well.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to detect desperate Developers and scammers on: October 04, 2019, 12:24:58 PM
Obviously any project that promises you any of these are either scam or dangerous investments plans managed by desperate developers

1. Huge ROI in short period of term
2. Risk free investments
3. Assurance of what to come
4. Big exchanges listing like binance

I have promoted projects that pretends to have listing plan on big exchanges just to make people promote the project and make investors invest too

This is really true, in fact I have been victim though. Your first point is the most deadly because it preys on humans urge for quick return, carefully looking at them I see no difference between them and HYIP or Ponzi schemes. Also, in every Investment, risk abounds and any project promising otherwise have another motive, in the same way owing to the unpredictable nature of this space, assuring investors of good profit within a stipulated time spells bad for that project. However, your last point, only few projects have really succeeded in keeping that promise while a greater number used it as an opportunity to exit scam.
787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hack any wallet? on: October 03, 2019, 11:57:05 PM
This is the first time am hearing such, but thinking about it, it is practically impossible else many wallets would have been compromised. Come to think of it, how long do you think it can take generating those words? I have seen backup phrase whose words kinda looks different, so in such case how can you generate other words.of such wallets. I think the algorithm for these wallets are built in such a way that no one can guess the words which makes it difficult to access any wallet without the right words. If this is actually possible, many people would have gotten involved as scammers are always hunting.
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is not a ponzi scheme, Remember???????? on: October 02, 2019, 08:10:11 PM
Most people came with the mindset of Ponzi, which is get rich quick as soon as possible, which is why whenever they participate in any project and it takes time to list, they will start complaining. Also, when they invest and the project gets listed and at a lower price they are always quick to judge; this is the reason I hardly tell people which projects to invest but I will be quick to educate the person on the risks involved, thereby having it in mind that patience is needed they will be wise with their Investment choices.
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Browser extensions can steal bitcoin on: October 02, 2019, 08:03:26 PM
Yes that's true heard about some browser extensions which did that and they were reported and taken down. Also there are some which will come in the form of bitcoin mining extension once installed ends up stealing users data. Let's be careful of the extension we install, metamask has been proven to be genuine, we can stick with that or any other which is recommended; anything mining extension should not be installed.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY DOES BOUNTY PROJECTS TAKE TIME TO ENTER A MARKET on: October 02, 2019, 07:59:39 PM
I Notice that most projects that conducted bounty finds it difficult to enter the crypto market especially a quality market. i think most are afraid of been dump.
what are the possible reasons why tokens takes too much time before getting listed on exchange.
This can be answered from different sides, first almost all projects conducts bounty and their listing totally depends on what the team wants not necessarily about being afraid of dump; some will list and still lock bounty tokens or delay the distribution, so I don't think it's all about bounty. On the other hand, from the little experience, any project finding it difficult to list shows most times that it is a scam project; in this case the team will start giving excuses as to why they are yet to list.
791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The World’s Most-Preferred Cryptocurrency Isn’t Bitcoin on: October 02, 2019, 07:54:36 PM
You are right with your analysis, but let me ask you, how many coins can you trade Tether with? In every exchange you have the highest opportunity to trade Bitcoin with whatsoever coins you want, while Tether on the other hand is only used to hedge funds, that's for traders. So apart from using Tether to hedge funds what other use does it have? How many coins can be traded with it? Just few. Till years to come, Bitcoin will remain the top and most preferred cryptocurrency.
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Important Is It To Create An Announcement Thread For New Startup? on: October 01, 2019, 09:02:53 PM
I'm fairly new to Bitcointalk. I was wondering how crucial is it to create an ANN Thread for a new startup on here?

Is there a large Bitcointalk community that engages with the new startups who make ANN Threads?

I'm currently managing a bounty campaign for a new startup on here, and I was wondering if the ANN Thread would give the startup more exposure?

Any feedback would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

I have seen many projects without ANN doing well and have seen most with ANN not doing well, but that doesn't mean that ANN thread isn't important. ANN is very important because it will go a long way in exposing the project in question to many investors in this space owing to its large user base. ANN will also make it possible for people to say their mind as well as contributing to the growth of the project through asking constructive questions etc. Furthermore, I would advice you to create one, then monitor it everyday to know what people feels about the project while sending the feedback to the team for more improvement.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No matter how hard you look at crypto, there is lots of improvements so far on: October 01, 2019, 08:55:13 PM
That's true, you are right there have been many good improvements so far. Many platforms are coming up to adopt blockchain into their services of which one is Samsung and with this lead, can set other platforms into motion. Furthermore, irrespective of the fact that bitcoin is dominating this either space it still needs other Innovative altcoins such as ETH in order to create a crypto space that will accommodate all and sundry.
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mass adoption growing or decreasing? on: October 01, 2019, 08:46:40 PM
Yes mass adoption is increasing gradually, the only issue is, it is not growing at a fast pace. I came across a post where Samsung is already working on Implementing blockchain to their upcoming phones also I came across a News where LG is already making plans to follow suit. The reason why this mass adoption of a thing is taking time is that, most developers nowadays only care for themselves thus not caring about the project they are developing while already existing platforms outside this space are getting involved so sooner than later the mass adoption we are glamouring for will happen.
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Betting : A big problem to crypto? on: October 01, 2019, 08:33:31 PM
I once came across an article where it was stated that over 60 percent of most crypto transaction were used for betting. I don't see anything wrong with that. But don't you think it portrays crypto in a bad way?
I don't see anything wrong with it either, you can use fiat to pay for any services and no one will question you then why is crypto different? Crypto is used online thus if I come across any services which can be paid with crypto and I decided to use it, I don't see anything wrong with it. Betting on the other hand is growing in this space with most platforms either having their own coin or using other cryptocurrencies therefore you can see its use is growing tremendously even in the betting Industry. So to your question, it doesn't portray the crypto space in any bad way
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Altcoins ever come back again on: September 29, 2019, 08:40:03 PM
In my own opinion, altcoins are already where they are meant to be; that is, some altcoins are already trying their best while looking for ways to remain relevant. A good example is ETH and its anticipated POS development. On the other hand, some altcoins are already marked for death thus becoming worthless with each passing day; thus clearly shows that investors are now migrating to coins they believe will offer something in the future not those who are yet to figure out what the future holds for them. So, yes altcoins will recover but only few.
797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Big prize for 1 participant in a signature campaign? on: September 29, 2019, 08:34:07 PM
for example: prize allocation for a campaign (signature) is around 2,000,000 tokens and if the project only has 1 participant in the campaign (signature) and when the project has been completed or not scammed, is it true that the participant will get the sum of all tokens (signatures)?
or maybe not at all,  for other reasons?
Although this can hardly be true, but let's assume it is. In this case, this is why there is need for good managers, if this should happen the manager will most likely reduce the allocation for that Campaign and channel it to other campaigns with huge participants. Also, most times, at the discretion of the team, the manager might reduce the allocation then send it back to the team, because the team might not be happy paying huge for a campaign they didn't achieve much results from. I have seen most campaigns where one of the rules indicates that, if a certain number of users or participants aren't achieved, the team or the manager will take appropriate actions.
798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which one is better for you guys ? on: September 29, 2019, 08:26:22 PM
Doing IEO on the top exchange but public response is flat, or IEO on the exchange is not credible or shit exchange but the public is enthusiastic about welcoming it ?
To answer your question, there is need to come from different angles; if an IEO is done on a top exchange but the community members or public aren't welcoming it as it should be, then there is high tendency of that the IEO not be ground success. Also, talking about a shit exchange; one thing they are known for is low user base so any IEO done there might struggle to become a success, this is one of the reasons why most projects will run IEOs in two exchanges so as to increase their success rate. So in all ramifications, the exchange an IEO is taking place on matters, and also the response of the public matters as well.
799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: characteristics of fraudulent projects on: September 29, 2019, 08:20:15 PM
You really nailed it and that's why it is good to ask some of those provocative questions before investing to ascertain the level of genuineness within that project. Also, when asking those questions be mindful of some people who are there to defend the team etc. Also, there is another point or characteristics which i would like to add and that is, "we are working on our project", many projects are using this line and the annoying thing is that, there is absolutely nothing to show for it. There are projects since last year which are yet to list nor show the community what they have done, but when asked you will give that reply.
800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung confirms the rumor! on: September 28, 2019, 10:16:45 PM
This is really good and I believe those who finds it hard seeing anything good about the blockchain space will have a change of heart, and get involved now it's still early. The simple truth is, many platforms and huge tech companies are now getting involved because none want to be left out nor lose their users or customers to their rivals. However, this is just the beginning and with Samsung taking the lead, many will follow suit so as to always maintain their competitive advantage.
