401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is to be the beginning of the rise of cryptocurrency on: October 14, 2020, 06:31:06 PM
Will this be the beginning of a revival for cryptocurrencies because there are so many projects and project developments using blockchain technology

At this stage in the crypto space we have way passed the "beginning" but can't really ascertain the phase we are in now because we are not moving at a faster pace. Looking years back, maybe from 2017, it is then we can say the cryptocurrencies are taking a new shape because many attentions were channelled to it and many platforms were created as well. In my own opinion, I will say we are at a very advanced stage now because different trends and different projects keeps coming, and in each case we are experiencing massive and a whole lot of attention, the current DeFi trend is a proof to that.
Lastly, one can say in affirmation that the crypto space will keep growing because it is now evident that many ideas can be explored while many which are already invoke can be enhanced.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust newbies that starts projects? on: October 13, 2020, 07:46:55 PM
I know many project managers that handles good projects such as Jamalezaz, bounty detective, and many others most of them are either hero members or legend, I believe they have enough experience to handle it mere considering their ranks, not to say the rank is the only criteria to be a good project manager.i always doubt those project starters with newbie ranks.is it that they decide to use a new forum page,or were the restarting after being hacked or disqualified or how come a new be is handling a project? This are few questions that comes to my mind about newbie managers.

In most bounties, irrespective of who manages it, that is, whether newbie or high rank member, the manager tends to add a disclaimer stating that he/she is just managing the bounty and not member of the team thus showing that, even some of them can't guarantee the authenticity of the bounty; you can't blame them, they are still humans. So what I think is that, rank doesn't matter however what matters is how the bounty is being handled. For the authenticity of any bounty, it is left for the users or participants or hunters to make their enquiries and findings about the project thus deciding if it is to participate or not.
Also, there can still be situations where bounty payment will be delayed and the manager might turn a deaf ear irrespective of the rank. At the same time, there are bounties where payment will be delayed and the manager will fight for their hunters irrespective of the ranks as well, this type of managers are few. Therefore no matter what comes may, the rank of the manager do not matter but the way he/she handles the project and updates his participants on any information.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tron and Waves team up to develop DeFi projects on: October 12, 2020, 09:34:09 PM
Seeing such partnership and team work proves that the crypto space will only keep getting better and better with each passing day, month or year. What we witness nowadays are series of good ideas and innovations aiming to bring more exposure to the crypto space while offering more opportunities. DeFi has been around for a while and each day it can be said that new opportunities keeps coming out and that is really a good one for everyone in this space.
However, I think this team work which is perceived or assumed to beat the Ethereum blockchain might not work or succeed in doing so this is because, the Ethereum blockchain has grown so much wherein the team are not relenting either hence working to ensure an effective and efficient blockchain network. No doubt, the new Defi project they want to create will be a good one as it is coming from two experienced teams but can't be able to beat the Ethereum blockchain.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What DeFi projects are your radar this week? on: October 12, 2020, 09:18:55 PM
Looking at most DeFi projects today and their current prices as well, can someone be really motivated to hold them? Also, it is not even holding or investing in any of them is the issue but however, the issue is, if their prices can come up in a courageous way again but it also shows that only good DeFi projects will come out strong amidst the unfavorable market. In addition, in as much as Defi potential is very good hence it can be said to be with us for a while but this can only work when investors starts going for the good projects while ignoring those that have nothing to offer than hype.
Nevertheless, no Defi project is under my radar however the coins under my radar are Bitcoin and Ethereum.

407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: October 10, 2020, 09:31:45 AM
I like to share my story being a crypto enthusiast, a trader and an investor at the same time.

I started in this forum in year 2015 when altcoins are still a good investment and Binance is still not the most popular exchange in the market.
I trade with Poloniex most of the time, sometimes I trade with Bittrex but then I realize that I am not so profitable with trading since I cannot focus on it due to the reason that i have a day job to prioritize.

Therefore, I started to invest for long term and I was entice by how the market moves and I was so optimistic that long term could really change my life.
So to make the story short, I invested with different altcoins and have help it until now.

Now, when the bull run comes, I still couldn't sell right away as I was getting greedy thinking I could earn more when I still hold.
of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.

And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

So top 10 of my portfolio consist of the following based on my blockfolio.

1) Atlant
2) Edgeless
3) Centra
4) Humaniq
5) Matchpool
6) Lunyr
7) KIN
8.) FUEL
9) SONM
10)NPXS

Please tell me if I should still expect I will be profitable or just give up now already.

To begin with, you are not a fool for believing the word HOLD (or HODL) but before thinking of Holding any coin there is need to be selective on the type of coins, those holding Bitcoin or Ethereum will hardly complain, regret or think of selling at loss. This is because, most coins today are not worthy to be held for long term, thus once someone sees a good price, just sell off and move on. Also, most coins which were created before now, or let me say 2018 are no where to found now, now imagine someone who bought such coins. Additionally, some of the coins you listed are hardly heard of, at least in my own understanding.
Therefore, my own opinion is this, check those whose team are still very much active, check their development plans and know when to sell and for those whose team aren't serious sell off all and hold Bitcoin or Ethereum.
Also, from another angle, some of those coins or all of them might not reach their All Time High (ATH) again or anything close to it, so you will still weigh your losses, check your options and move on.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s next for Libra? on: October 09, 2020, 08:27:44 PM
I think the rumors are true because to a good number of people Libra is dead and forgotten. Seriously I can't even remember the last time I heard anything about it until today which shows more potential projects has taken the minds and interest of people. Also, I think last year or thereabouts (can't really remember) that I came across a posts showing that many of their partners has left the project, so I believe for partners to leave a project before it gets started shows that the interest is no longer there and hence the project is marked to be doomed.
Furthermore, considering the fact that hype is one of the driving force of new projects in the crypto space, Libra's hype is gone and many projects which faced this type of situation as Libra never succeeded again; therefore I think it's better focusing on other potential projects or on major coins.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do You think about YFI ? on: October 09, 2020, 08:19:19 PM
Although I don't know much about the YFI project but I won't fail to acknowledge the fact that the team was active, and this activeness can be seen in terms of hype or development. My reason for this is owing to that fact the price moved to as much as $40k and thus many people made good profits, and had it been the Defi hype is still very much alive then it might be worth taking a risk and getting out as soon as possible but considering the price now and the current nature of DeFi projects, it is a bad idea to invest in it. The difference between the previous price and the current price is just too much and I don't think the price will ever rise to such extent again because people have now channelled their attention to other DeFi projects.
Hence, the project is one of the hyped projects in the DeFi space and the price dump is terrible, so focus on other potential projects.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🔴Defi meets NFT !!! After DEGO NFT hype now NFT is the new Trend 🔴 on: October 08, 2020, 10:45:42 PM
I actually sensed that and yes the crypto space works or moves with trends and in each trend if actually found to be unique and have potentials it will lead a new growth and hype in the crypto space and vice versa. ICO model had its time and failed, IEO took over and did well but STO didn't because a good number of people didn't find the need to participate in it, so if NFT have something unique to offer, it will set in a new trend. DeFi on the other hand can be said to have done well, and although the prices of a good number of them are dumping badly yet somepeople can say they made profits, in the same way samething can happen with NFT.
DEGO have done a good work by starting the trend, it is now left for others to join up and contribute theirs and the game will start on a full note, but however since no one can actually predict the future, it will be hard saying NFT will be bigger than DeFi, who knows another might spring up and overtake it or it can be compared to the case of STO; let's keep our fingers crossed.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I need advice about my portfolio, can someone help? on: October 07, 2020, 10:08:18 PM
My portfolio right now is divided into 50% Litecoin 30% Eth and 20% Bitcoin. I want to restructure it between these coins (Or other coins), What should I do? I tune in and out of the crypto markets pretty often so my knowledge isn't optimal.

Where most people are busy chasing after DeFi tokens and hype, you are going after the best coins, that is really wonderful and thoughtful. From your last statement, I would assume you are holder and not a trader, nevertheless what matters is the coins in your portfolio which are known to be among the best coins.
Starting with Bitcoin, my suggestion will be to give it a bigger % (maybe 60%) of the Portfolio because everyone knows it is the best coin in the crypto market till this day, a coin someone can hold and be at peace without bothering about the bear market, nor swapping as found in most altcoins now. Then, between ETH and Litecoin, you can share the remaining 40% among them, however in case you value ETH more, you can give 30% to it and 10% to Litecoin.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi - The Scam Engine? on: October 07, 2020, 09:55:54 PM
I know that you may see this as one of the most strange topics to be here, but I'm honestly trying to bring this thing in front of everyone to make people aware of probably this year's gold-coated scamming style - DeFi.

I will not start giving any explanation about what is DeFi and blah blah, but would like to come straight to the point.

YFI - The ultimate beast (parent coin) of all DeFi coins that was not even worth a cent according to its devs but people started trading it at $3 initially and then the game started where investors threw it to over BTC4.4, a number none of us ever expected to happen but it did. (Came back to BTC1.5 recently and liquidated many longs as well as made extreme losses to thode who bought at its peak).

Next came its grand children with names like XYFI, UYFI, YYFI, ZYFI and whatnot.

Then came UNI, got farmed as well as gave extremely exceptional rewards to early users of their platform who traded some specific coins there. Everything was free so they just dumped it even at that high liquidity available. The value rose to over $8 but is under half of it now.

And many others like Sushi (an abandoned project which later on got took over by ftx devs), Bzrx (great team but too many hacks so community killed the liquidity of this coin), Rfuel, Many, FLM and so many DeFi coins have now reminded me of the 2018 crash, but don't you think it's too early for DeFi projects to be crashing this high?

I am not against DeFi coins, but TBH, these coins are just tickling our inner greed to which we respond so quickly not as a good trader, but a greedy one. My advice would be to keep yourself too safe from investing in these coins and even if the project is too good whatsoever, please don't invest anything that you can't afford to lose. Remember that whenever someone makes a 100x, he makes almost 100 people lose their capital (according to my observation).

Gradually the hype of DeFi is coming to an end and it kind of look too soon, and where many people made good profits a lot also met losses. What baffles me was the way DeFi projects were coming up and most people do not bother at all to study the project and know what it entails, the only thing that matters to them is profit, and now how many actually made the profit?
Taking a look at most DeFi projects now, they are just a shadow of themselves, dumping a lot and I keeps wondering what those that bought at the top will do.
I totally agree with you, there are good DeFi projects but the too much hype just brought another trend altogether and people fell terribly for it. Just like it has always been said, investing what you can afford is the best way to go about anything investing but that should be after the due diligence has been done on that project to ascertain it's worth, the teams vision and so on.
I sincerely hope people will learn from this DeFi case and be better prepared for whatever new trend that will come up next.
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I like to collect the token on: October 06, 2020, 07:08:04 PM
Do you have a preference for collecting tokens instead of selling them?
Currently in my wallet there are more than 200 tokens with different values and I do not sell them every time it is listed. I keep them and watch them every day. I was fascinated by the fact that there were many tokens in my wallet and not paying attention to their price.
Do you think this is a crazy hobby?

In my own opinion, it is not a good hobby or idea when taking into account the nature of this cryptocurrency space. To be frank, I used to have such ideas where I hold tokens because i think they can do better but later on it dawned on me that I was making a terrible mistake because no coin is better than Bitcoin. I held many tokens I would have sold for good profits and it dumped on me and never rise, in some cases the team exit scam, this is also the case of many others in this space. So what I can suggest is, depending on the token, once you see a good price, sell it off and keep the holdings in Bitcoin or Ethereum, a good number are not worth it; if you really want to hold it, wait for dump and buy.. Also, if you are fascinated about them, selling 70-90% of a token is a good move while you hold the rest just in case the team have something up their sleeves.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple the next bitcoin? on: October 06, 2020, 06:59:27 PM
It drives me nut when people compares Bitcoin with other altcoins, I don't just understand what they want to achieve, it is good or fair to compare one altcoin and the other but such should not happen between bitcoin. I remember 2018 or even till date most altcoins were challenging Bitcoin and when I checked closer their only point of challenge is in terms of speed and nothing more, the question now is, till today what have they achieved? Have they succeeded in beating Ethereum (let's leave out Bitcoin)?
I won't fail to acknowledge the fact that XRP team are doing their best o achieve more partnerships and collaborations but I can't use that as a yardstick to compare it to Bitcoin. The faster people understand that no coin can challenge Bitcoin, the faster they start making good decisions like holding Bitcoin because the future is bright.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW CAN ONE KNOW A FAKE AIRDROP? on: October 05, 2020, 08:11:09 PM
Anytime I go into my telegram account, I see countless number of airdrop with countless offers but the challenge is trying to know which of this airdrop that is genuine.

Okay let me try my best.
First, any altcoin that wants or demand you share your private keys, mnemonic phrases is fake. As the nature goes, it is meant to be private, even when creating the wallet, you were warned about sharing private informations with a third-party, hence any airdrop asking for it, is fake.
Secondly, any airdrop asking for payment of any kind is fake. Airdrops are carried out to help promote a project and when done, the project team in return rewards the participants, therefore any airdrop now asking for payment means they are fake and looking for who to scam.
Thirdly, any airdrop whose social media accounts like twitter was created recently most times barely a month prior to the launching of the project is likely to be scam. There are many of them on telegram and twitter.
Fourthly, most airdrops from most projects have no idea on whatever they want to build, just create a telegram group, twitter and promotion starts, and within a few days they start talking about Pre-sale. I do not think projects like this are serious. Also, with DeFi still very much around, many of these projects are coming up with full force hence be careful.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to invest in Binance on: October 05, 2020, 07:58:05 PM
It is good you want to diversify and hold many altcoins but the question is, are you ready to follow up the project's development? To the best of my knowledge, swapping seems to have changed the idea behind holding of most altcoins. That is, some altcoins might be based on Ethereum blockchain and then decides to move to another blockchain for one reason or the other or to their own blockchain, and once swapping is done, anyone who wasn't able to swap will be stuck to the old token meaning his investment is gone. So you can see, this is really a tough one. But if you are capable of following all the altcoins you ever want to invest in then go head.
On the other hand, why not limiting the number of altcoins you invest in, just find those that are inline with what you want and invest in them, others can be for short term gains. TRX is one of such coins which gives profits once in a while because of its CEO, Tezos is another which I believe is good, as for the rest I have no information about them.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is monero a good buy because of the application? on: October 03, 2020, 03:35:07 PM
Before buying any coin you should first ask yourself question like, what am I looking to achieve with it. This is a very important question because there are people who buy a coin just to stake it, others buy to hold, others buy to trade, others buy because of quick profit and others buy because of hype or fomo with the hope it will pump high. So once you have decided you can check if the coin is worth it then go ahead. As for Monero, it is a good privacy coin and maybe the best privacy and anonymity coin in the crypto space, apart from that, I don't think there is any other thing. Now if you are buying because of the application, news etc they want to release, that means you are buying for profit and should know when to sell. Additionally, if you are buying for a particular purpose maybe because of privacy then it's also good but if it's for long term holding, then I can't advice rather will only advice Bitcoin.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safest cryptocurrency wallets on: October 03, 2020, 03:24:26 PM
Cryptocurrencies can be kept online or offline. If the cryptos are kept on the exchange platforms or other online platforms, it can be lost due to hacks.

So it is important to choose the best wallets that are safe and secure. Please help me in choosing the safest cryptocurrency wallets

Whether offline or online, they are still kept or stored in their respective blockchain wallets, that is, ERC 20 tokens are stored on Ethereum blockchain wallets, TRC 20 tokens are stored on Tron blockchain wallets, BEP2 are stored on Binance blockchain wallet and so on. This is why, when depositing a token on any exchange, you will be warned of depositing a wrong token as it will be lost.
Nevertheless, you are right about keeping cryptocurrencies on exchange platforms because they are never secure and the recent Kucoin hack is a clear proof of that. Also, about other online platforms, it is true as well because the creators of that online wallet or platform can easily manipulate everything.
So that brings us to personal wallets, and the best I can recommend is Trust wallet because of its advanced and user-friendly interface. Others are Imtoken, Enjin and Atomic wallet, they are also safe; remember to store your private keys or mnemonic words securely.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can new crypto beat Eth in the market? on: October 03, 2020, 03:16:37 PM
I do not think ETH is ever challenging Bitcoin, however their developers are too busy making sure they offer the best of services to their users which can be seen in the forthcoming Ethereum upgrade; that is to say, focusing strictly on the services they are offering, ETH will keep being the best altcoin. Take a look at Binance exchange, their team rose to that height through standing out from the crowd, taking a different path and offering the best of services; today Binance exchange is the best exchange.
So what I can say, all these projects challenging ETH should stop and rather focus on offering unique services which will attract more users and hence taking them above others. So in conclusion, I do not think there is any altcoin that can beat Ethereum.
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is UniSwap the most powerful in the Defi market? on: October 02, 2020, 08:16:06 PM
It’s just 10 days back that DeFi protocol Uniswap launched their Uni token and now Uniswap becomes the first DeFi protocol to cross $2 Billion.

Read more: https://www.worldcoinindex.com/news/defi-protocol-uniswap-crosses-2-billion-in-total-value-locked

Will Uniswap remain it's top position or is this just a hype?

To the best of my knowledge, Uniswap is a decentralized exchange (DEX) and with the rate it is growing, I think I have every reason to believe it is becoming the best Decentralized exchange. Also, to remain at the top comes with many things and one of the most important is consistency, that is, if the team can be consistent and true to their goals and objectives, then Uniswap can be regarded as the best DEX. Currently, I can't think of any Dex that can challenge Uniswap both in terms of liquidity, users and hype; just like it is in the case of Binance wherein people clamour for new projects to list on Binance, same is going for Uniswap wherein people now clamours for new projects to list on Uniswap.
To answer your question, I would say it a combination of both hype, liquidity and seriousness of the team. Binance didn't rose to such height by sitting down, the team did many things and took many steps, so if Uniswap can do that as well, then it can be the best and maybe most powerful DEX.
