241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good mobile wallet on: January 05, 2021, 08:11:29 AM
When transaction rate keeps skyrocketing as seen currently due to the rise in Bitcoin price as more people are going for it, there is every tendency the transaction fees will be high and when sending it is good to use the recommended fee as it will be fast, because any bid to alter it might result to slow transactions confirmation, but however I don't think it makes sense spending such on fees as you can try some other time, unless you are in a haste. This same high fees is also witnessed on the Ethereum blockchain. Nevertheless, asking about a trustworthy wallet, you can try Imtoken or Trust wallet, but personally I prefer Trust wallet, also remember to backup your mnemonic phrases.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't ask about the price. No one knows! on: January 04, 2021, 08:48:26 AM
That is quite true, we are in a type of bull run which is working above everyone's expectations, as Bitcoin just keeps hitting higher and higher, and when it dumps it picks up as well but yet it is good to bear in mind that no one knows the price Bitcoin will get to or dump to. As for the different prices people are setting for it or assuming it gets to, these can be seen to be coming from different categories of people, that is, those who sold early and wishing to get back and those who entered early and wishing for it to keep growing. However, in my own opinion, Bitcoin is a type of coin you can invest whatever you can in, hold long term and relax, because till date it doesn't disappoint long term holders.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $Bitcoin is first, $Eth is second, which of these should be in my 3rd place? on: January 04, 2021, 08:37:51 AM
Bitcoin hitting the $50k mark in 4 months?? $ETH surpassing $2k in 2.5 months? What coin do we see as a contender for that 3rd spot??
EarnBet-$BET or $LINK?

Well, all these are speculations which is as well bound to fail or bound to happen, hence I think it is better, taking the safest path to investing which is doing so not because of all these predictions but because the coin is worth it. Nevertheless, had it been everything is in place with XRP, that is no issue with SEC as in the case of XRP, then that third spot would have been for XRP, but since their issue is yet to be solved XRP might even find it hard being in top 5 if appropriate solution is not taken; however in my own opinion, the coin that would be occupying that third place is LTC.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An Advice from CEO of XAPO to you !! on: January 03, 2021, 10:38:14 AM
In as much as I agree with the man but I would also like to make out time to spend with family and friends, afterall it is someone who is healthy will think of Bitcoin, someone who is battling with one health issue or the other will only think of getting better, so I think as you Invest in Bitcoin also invest in time meant for yourself and your loved ones. However, I also got his message, which in my own understanding is, invest wisely, invest in Bitcoin as that is the better cryptocurrency which have the capacity to give you a better future; Bitcoin has grown so much last year and the beginning of the year is making it look more interesting as it keeps surprising everyone, hence investing that spare money once in a while will go a long way.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Bitcoin Hack (WARNING!) on: January 03, 2021, 10:27:35 AM
The more Bitcoin gets more valuable and attractive, the more the number of scammers and hackers will keep increasing, while they keep advancing their skills and tactics so as to achieve their aims, hence we need to take note of every possible security steps we can think of.
So sorry for what happened to you, but henceforth, on every Important website you visit which relates to crypto and which involves you to access your wallet just like this one you reported, or exchanges etc, once you visit the website bookmark it immediately and from there always access the website, it's safer that way. As for exchanges, you can visit coinmarketcap or Coingecko as the case may be, search the exchange, visit it and bookmark; i find this approach better and safer, because phishing scam is getting much.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we deal with all the disgusting snake oil salesmen? on: January 03, 2021, 10:19:41 AM
In my own opinion, I still maintain the mindset that what attracts people into all these fraudulent schemes is greed. This is because, the rewards will always attract them while making them blind to ask themselves questions like how genuine is this, why this huge reward and if they are giving such rewards, what will be the gain of the team and so on. Therefore, so far there are people who are easily enticed by all these high returns, scammers will keep advancing their skills and tactics to get more. In addition, another reason why the scammers seems to progress is the fact they hide under crypto just like you said, thus using the genuine nature of crypto to get to their targeted users. Lastly, most times it is easy to identify scams, but most people are too glued to their quest to make quick money that they fails to point out a scam project or fraudulent schemes.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How many coins/tokens do you think will survive in 2021? on: January 02, 2021, 07:16:01 AM
I think that only 10% coins/tokens that would be able to survive and will be worth investing in 2021.
There are currently 2400 tokens that are known and many unknown to anyone. By the end of the year 2020, at least 100-200 new tokens will be created. Every day in the world there are 5 new airdrops. I think it is not realistic to calculate. But I'm pretty sure new tokens are being created more than they are being deleted.
But we have to buy only good market capitalization coins. Don't invest money in shit coins.

"Don't invest money in shit coins" that's the message and anyone who fails to get it, will learn it in one way or the other. Talking about how many altcoins that will survive this year, actually, no one can tell even assuming it, is a herculean task because with the growth of Bitcoin and most altcoins currently, many projects will come up because since the market is still favourable, there are still some investors who will be willing to invest. Therefore with more projects coming up, it sure means more will either exit scam, abandoned or become dead on arrival, so it might likely be more than 10%. Hence this bring us back to the main message which is, invest wisely and only in potential coins.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: De-Fi on Bitcoin on: January 02, 2021, 07:04:52 AM
Since RSK is not very popular then achieving that type of milestone will be hard, also I think there are other Defi projects on blockchains like Tron although they are not much and/or popular as well, thus meaning all the DeFi projects finds Ethereum blockchain more suitable and compatible. Nevertheless, in my own opinion, I do not think any Defi will work on Bitcoin network because it will require a lot of work which many Defi developers doesn't need, also with the level of discouragements surrounding it nowadays, it is only but a shadow of itself, that is, a lot of hacks has happened in Defi projects, a lot of scams has taken place and many of them are just a repetition of the ones currently available thus the reason they are just seen as an opportunity to make quick money, hence easy pump and dump. Furthermore, the question which begs for answer is, even with the high fees on Ethereum, why are there still upcoming DeFi projects which finds it better for their development? The simple answer is, Ethereum is more suited for DeFi projects.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is cold storage better than coinbase? on: January 02, 2021, 06:50:43 AM
It seems most bitcoiners prefer cold hardware wallets over online platforms but why is that? Considering platforms like coinbase are FDIC insured and have the best security in the business, it seems much riskier to try to secure my bitcoins on my own. I feel my house burning down or some other accident destroying my wallet is much more likely than losing it on Coinbase. And if there is a breach in coinbase, I get it back... so what am I missing?? While I’m not new to owning bitcoin, I am new to learning about it. So I apologize if this is an annoying newb question.

One of the vital points to note down before venturing into the crypto space is that, once you are not in control of your private keys then that funds or assets does not belong to you because, you will have limited control over it and your funds can also be frozen. The reason why cold storage or hardware wallets are better is that, you assume 100% contorl of your funds, because you have the private keys  and so far your keys are safe, you are secured but same cannot be said of online platforms or exchanges be it Coinbase or whatever, because if a security breach happens, you will be on your own in fact you will be reminded of the terms and conditions you agreed to which includes the risks associated with trading cryptocurrencies. Also, it is not an annoying question, it is good you asked and get enlightened hence taking every security caution. Lastly, many exchanges has been hacked and funds lost, even if the exchange want to refund, I don't think all will be refunded.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XLM Stellar Lumens compared to Ripple XRP? on: January 01, 2021, 07:33:01 AM
In my own understanding way, a very good number of projects are just using that term "decentralization" or "decentralized" so as to blind those they want to, divert attention while the team do whatever they want,  a very good number of them are not decentralized, rather they are highly centralized but in a more hidden way. In the case of XLM, I would say it is decentralized at least there are some sort of validators and so far they haven't given their investors any reason to believe or to think they are centralized, at least to the best of my knowledge. Also, in my own opinion about price correlation, I think everything about price depends on the market and choice of traders, Bitcoin isn't giving altcoins much room thus it can be anticipated that investors are moving funds from many altcoins to Bitcoin of which XLM is one of those altcoins.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this page an ICO presale? on: January 01, 2021, 07:19:35 AM
Hi everyone,

I am a beginner and I would like to know if this page is used to buy Wise in pre-sale or is it a reservation for staking?

https://wisetoken.net/reservations

Thank you

I think it is more of Pre-sale because on each day they showcased the amount collected or reserved and so on. However, I would like to add something from previous ICO projects; during the time of ICOs many projects collected funds through their website and while very few were genuine enough to showcase everything transparently, others were shady such that, they manipulated the figures to make it look like people are sorting for their token massively this they used to attract more people of course. Therefore, you need to be sure that project really collected those funds so it won't be like in the previous cases of ICOs. Also, another way to make a good choice is making sure the idea the team is coming up with can really work and of course the activeness of the team and community also matters.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: You want something good as UNISWAP and 1inch ? on: December 31, 2020, 08:17:43 AM
Who knows it might lead to a new trend again, the trend of trading on exchanges and getting their airdrops. If one can check, if an exchange want to airdrop their tokens to active users I do not think it will be announced so as to make it worthwhile for those who have been trading already. On the other hand, since more people will likely trade on these new exchanges, considering the gas fees and so on, what if it is not worth it at the end, remember Uniswap was already a reputed exchange before that airdrop. Nevertheless, just analysing the profitable nature of the trading endeavour and lastly, it is better to have a new wallet for all these because scammers are still lurking around and the exchange needs to be at least a good and known one.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 9 practical tips for investing in Defy! on: December 31, 2020, 08:01:01 AM
DeFi made a lot of hype and a lot of them sprung up within a very short time, however today, can what was said about DeFi months ago ( that is about how profitable and revolutionary it is) be said today? I don't think so, or rather a very small percentage of them are actually with a good prospects, as for others, it is either they are hacked, the team exited scam or they are dead. Which then brings us to the Importance of researching all these projects to be sure they have the users at heart through building trustworthy working products and services. Who knows, very soon a new trend will start and what happened in Defi may happen again. Lastly, as for Dex; the idea to have more Dex is good in order to be more sure of your asset security but yet again, the way they are springing up nowadays calls for everyone to be careful as scammers do not miss out on any opportunity.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the Recent profitable coins? on: December 31, 2020, 07:48:19 AM
Answering the question with today's market nature, it is very obvious that the most profitable has been Bitcoin those who have holding for a long time now are in good profits. Also, coins like Ethereum, BNB, DOT ADA etc are also good and profitable coins which has been seen in their recent growth so far. Lastly, the market nature these past weeks has shown the need and Importance of holding good coins this is because, they always have the higher chances of growing once the market is in a good and favourable condition.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the benefits of buying XRP at present? on: December 30, 2020, 08:03:51 AM
Since the price of XRP is the lowest at the present time, what is the possibility of profit if I buy it at the present time? This project will not be in the market and will go away.

Are you really serious now? Aren't you aware of what XRP is facing? Let me indulge you, first the SEC is onto XRP and that has caused more exchanges to start delisting XRP, of course this is what caused the price dump and it doesn't looks like it is slowing down or stopping anytime soon, therefore buying XRP now is only a bad idea because you don't know what will become of the price tomorrow or in the near future. So at this juncture the best thing to do, is to look towards other potential coins like Ethereum and make your investment, at least you would be sure of profit on the long run.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: want to invest .. on: December 30, 2020, 07:51:59 AM

After seeing the growth in the price of the coin in the past few weeks, it leaves us confused as to which investment to make. I want to invest in all of the coins. but only a little capital owned. what action am i taking right now?

You want to invest in all of the coins? I don't really understand you, are you aware of the number of coins in the crypto market? Even if we bring it down to top 100 in coinmarketcap, it is still too much to invest in. So the best way to go about investing, is first deciding on the number of coins you want to buy, personally I would say 2-5 is okay. Secondly, you study the team of your anticipated coin, their ideas and what makes them stand out then invest, as usual personally and as it stands in the crypto space now, top 10-20 in coinmarketcap is a good place to look into. Lastly, considering your capital, you might want to stick to Ethereum while you wait for market correction to buy into others you find worthwhile.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What people swapping their XRP investment for. on: December 30, 2020, 07:38:37 AM
What XRP holders are selling to could extend to other coins they find more better and holds the potential to give them more profit as they lost through holding XRP, in as much as you are right, there could still be other coins like BTC and ETH they swapped to. Nevertheless, one can only but think on what the future of XRP will be from now, what will be the aftermath of XRP platform after the case is solved if at all in the favour of XRP, asking all these questions will only make most people to sell even more as the future of XRP is totally unclear. Lastly, there is every tendency more bad news will come, remember it is exchanges we are referring to here, and once other exchanges think it is better for them to delist XRP, then that will cause more selling pressure and more drop in price.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FOMO has started for Bitcoin on: December 29, 2020, 09:44:26 AM
We might come across so many users posting unrealistic predictions about Bitcoin. We have already witnessed this during December 2017, so please be more cautious than ever before you invest into bitcoin by doing your own research and if you are ready for a long term investment then you may think of investing so that even during worst case situation you will get back your returns just like those invested during last peak and hodled it got it now. If you are looking for short term gain then give it a second thought.

Well, in as much as people will fomo but I hardly think they will do so like those of 2017 this is because by now I believe a lot of people have learnt a very good lesson about Bitcoin and chasing a pump. Also, I agree with you, that anyone thinking of buying Bitcoin now should be sure he is a long term holder so that when the price drops he won't be bothered but rather wait for the next bull run, which might take time or might not. Secondly, I think people should be careful of the unrealistic predictions as well, because it is a huge trap set to get those who hardly study the market and past experiences; if they can selling a portion when in profit is also good. Lastly, in whichever case, I also find it very important to invest only the amount one can afford to lose and not his entire savings, such that when Bitcoin dumps like that of 2017, the person won't join the bandwagons to call the crypto space names.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today's info to the World from India - Bitcoin on: December 29, 2020, 09:27:43 AM
The ruling government is planning to impose 18% tax on cryptocurrency trading. Right now one among the wing under the finance ministry has made a study and reported an annual trading of around ₹40000 crore. This when valued on USD it'll be around $5500m. From this government could get a 18% revenue which will be around $1000m.

The cryptocurrency market is unregulated in the country. Now more and more planning is being done and under development to take the revenue out of the cryptocurrency usage.

Source : Times of India

And yet some people will say trash about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies but here is the government thinking and planning of how to increase tax for crypto trading which only means one thing, they want to make more money, but can you make more money from something that has no value? The answer is no, so I think it's right time people change their perspective about Bitcoin because it is now a very valuable coin. On the other hand, if this news is true, then it could bring about fud and moreover the tax looks too much from a country which is yet to fully take a stand on cryptocurrencies and all that relates to it, I just hope they find a good landing for all parties, because that tax will only bring about discouragement especially to upcoming crypto projects.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My email and phone have been hacked, is my bitcoin safe? on: December 29, 2020, 09:10:41 AM
Hi there tonight i found out my email was hacked and the password changed. i also watched in real time as the hacker went to my binance and bittrex accounts and changed the passwords and then logged into them. He also hacked into other crypto related websites i deal with. Thank God i had no crypto on either of these exchanges so the thief wasnt able to take anything. i have a feeling this information for them to use against was because of the ledger data leak, i was one the people who's data was breached. So i have a question if they can do all this what if they get on my ledger live. Is my bitcoin safe? i understand that they need the 24 word phrase seed to enter it but all this has left me unsure. I did manage to get an ip address from this guy but i know they can fake that kind of stuff so i dont know. What do you guys think i should do plz help thanks.

If you can, then try getting a new computer system or borrow from a trusted person to access your wallet, because you do not know where the hacker was able to get hold of you, so it is wise to keep off from your computer now for. Also, if possible you can try formatting your computer to get rid of any sort of threats and phone if possible reset it as well, at least with this you will be sure you are freed from them. On the case of the exchanges, if your account on the exchanges are verified already then you can contact them to change your email, but if they are not, then abandon the email and create a new exchange account. Henceforth, be careful of the websites you visit, and always bookmark the ones you use frequently. Also, as for your Bitcoin wallet, always make sure the security measures that is, private keys or 24 word phrases is not stored on your phone or computer, always keep them offline, such that, even if your devices are compromised your wallet won't be accessed.
