781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time for bounties and airdrops as we near bull season on: October 04, 2023, 08:39:55 AM
airdrops nowadays aren't too fixated on trends, you see arbitrum, and any other, they quite literally make airdrop at the bearish season and they are fine.
even gaining massive valuation, i think there's huge change in cryptocurrency in general in which many events are definitely independent of the current trend.
so long the project itself is good it will get investors flock onto it, quite the opposite of what happened back in the past where everything always revolve around the trend because thats where the money is.
nowadays project that gets sponsorship with various large venture capital and also exchange always get instant valuation of nearing hundred millions if not nearing 1 billion it just goes to show that doesn't matter the trend good project could always thrive.
Perhaps, they are just a few of them while expecting the huge number of airdropped coins and bounties to turn into nothing other than being useless/worthless. We believe that bull season could change the market trend, yes of course, but being a scam project can never change at all as it remains shitcoins. For now, new bounties are somewhat nothing it contribute to the crypto market and besides, it even make the market worse while they are adding more worthless projects.
782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: October 04, 2023, 06:06:09 AM
I went through the record of his opponent, and I find it very impressive.

After his first loss in 2019 against Adrian Estrella, he was already on a winning streak until May 2023. I find this impressive because all of his wins did not go to the judges' scorecards, meaning this boxer has power, which I think would really match Ryan Garcia.

Judging by his record and Ryan's, I expect that this fight is going to be a war, a toe-to-toe battle where only one man is left standing in the end. A KO is likely to happen, and as for who would win, I don't know, but most likely it's Ryan (hopefully).
Wow, that's an impressive record to be honest, he may not be known but likely he wants to be known and that's his job if he can take down Garcia. I know Garcia will be the favorite here but it's a tough job for Garcia as well in my opinion considering his lost to Davis would still have that effect on how he fights now. Well, I think Garcia may need to bounce back but I guess I'll favor with Duarte in this fight.
I hope the money they earned in that fight was able to help him recover from that big loss because it was reported that they made a significant amount of money, and the PPV numbers were impressive as well. So he is back now, trying to test himself again against a boxer who has power and could possibly KO him if Garcia does not give his full effort to train. This is a downgrade of an opponent on his part, but he lost against Davis, so he has to start over again.

Besides, he is only 25 years old, so he is still young to recover and be a champion again.
783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 03, 2023, 01:40:30 PM

Wondering what's gonna be the odds for Gilas vs China.

I guess odds are not yet release for this particular game, but since this game is going to be played tomorrow, we can expect this to be release in less than 24 hours from now.

Here is the schedule:

Men’s 5-on-5 basketball
1:30 pm, September 26, Tuesday – Philippines vs Bahrain
11 am, September 28, Thursday – Philippines vs Thailand
5:30 pm, September 30, Saturday – Philippines vs Jordan
4 pm, October 2, Monday – Philippines vs Qatar (qualifications to quarterfinal)
12 pm, October 3, Tuesday – Philippines vs Iran (quarterfinals)
8 pm, October 4, Wednesday – Philippines vs China (semifinals)

As we can see, tomorrow our team will be playing again. Hopefully, they are still not gassed out, as the games are consecutive since they beat Qatar. Brownlee had carried Gilas against Iran, and I hope he can still play at the same level tomorrow. They'll need to get some rest so they'll be energized tomorrow.

We have to beat this

The Philippines looks to end its 25-year medal drought in the sport, with its last podium finish coming in 1998 when it won bronze in men’s 5-on-5 basketball.

785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: October 01, 2023, 01:25:47 PM
Bitcoin is an asset. Assets do no harm to you as long as you manage your risks well. Gambling is on the other hand is a liability. Liability means, it takes money from your pocket. It is not making you any money, it is making you lose money. So comparing bitcoin to gambling don't make any sense because one of them is an asset  and the other one is a liability. Owning some liabilities isn't always a bad thing as long as you don't overdo them. Owning a car is also a liability but we need cars so we can transport our physical body from point A to point B. We sometimes gamble too because we need to do some stupid shit because why not. (just like smoking and drinking alcohol)
Both of them can harm us but gambling could possibly harm us more especially if we fall into addiction. Many people get mistaken in their thinking about gambling as they consider this a way to make more money. It is undeniable that many people fall into gambling addiction instead of falling into investing desires.
Gambling could be something we might enjoy but somehow it can affect our finances badly if we lose control.
May we have different experiences in gambling and investing in Bitcoin but for sure we have seen already which one is more harmful.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify shitcoins? on: October 01, 2023, 11:59:46 AM
We have been observing similar trends in so many things namely altcoins, hype projects, memecoins, field farming and so on with more innovative names to up in the near future. The investors need to identify them early to avoid investment or if they do invest, get out early to minimise losses. Without that insight they are losing and will continue to lose coins from borderline scams like these.

I think we are at a stage where even background checks on teams and reviewing the papers is misleading and the way to be safe from scams is to not look at anything that is non-bitcoin.

Sometimes even if you already know the team behind it and they are transparent and also always have AMA with their investors, when their plan fails and they don't get enough funds to develop the project which were stated in their roadmaps, you end up wasting your money because after that all you will get is false promises from those bastards. They are not fair enough to return the money of their investors but instead, they are planning to make it seem they are cooking something that will make their project successful which is not really true at all.
Perhaps, that was a problem for many projects as they just looked promising but had no funds to continue their development making them stop and make these early investors suffer losses. This is the reason why I'd never rush and invest in new projects but rather wait for their improvement and market development just to get some assurance that they will survive. Probably, 6 months to 1 year from its launching, it was already enough time to assess the project if they really had a fortune based on their market performance and that would be the time to decide.
787  Economy / Economics / Re: If They Can Pay off their Debts, Why Don't They? on: October 01, 2023, 11:28:56 AM
I agree with you, plus it is best to know that good debt management can help a country's capacity to invest in their economic future for the sake of education, infrastructure, health care, agriculture, and even for the people. The limited revenue countries have sometimes cannot be enough for their proposed projects that are made for the betterment of the country, hence their government chooses to borrow money from other countries.
The government's decision to lend money from other countries is quite a wise decision if a country is in dire need of their economic conditions along with other conditions as you mentioned. Some of the things you have mentioned are the most important parts that must be developed by the government in every country because the economy, education, infrastructure, health and others are all things that are really needed by citizens. So it wouldn't be wrong for the government to lend money to other countries to make things develop with payment methods that don't burden the loan taker.
It is not the country that gives loans to others but banks. These are good debts and for good reason. As we can see, developing countries are committing huge debts because that serves as their capital for economic development and projects which they believe that the return is enough to pay off the debts and make another one. No country has no debt and this is probably because the demand is quite high and there is no enough capital to cover them all urges them to do that in order to achieve their plan. Like in running a business, sometimes we need to borrow money for the sake that we can provide what we have to do to grow our business.
788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: October 01, 2023, 10:38:26 AM
Next in line is probably Benavidez. Currently, he is the boxer that I think would really match Canelo. I'm not sure if Canelo will win, but if he does, then the finale would be to avenge his loss to Bivol.

Maybe we will see a good fight that time. However, I think that fight is not going to happen this year. We are already in the last quarter of the year, and Canelo has already had 2 fights. I think he will rest in the remaining months and enjoy the money he earned this year. Benavidez also has a great record, but I believe he is not on Canelo's level. He's probably just on the same level as Charlo, the boxer that Canelo beat today. Canelo's biggest challenge is Bivol; therefore, the rematch should happen.
789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: September 30, 2023, 12:59:35 PM
Fear is normal especially if you are not really sure what you are doing and most of all, if you have thought negatively already.
If can change our mindset to positive, we no longer have such FEAR in mind but courage and motivation. In order to gain motivation and courage, we must beat our negative thinking and stop being affected by the FUDs. We can't move forward and achieve our goal if fear remains on us because this will influence our decisions.
790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New ID requirements for Gamblers in Australia on: September 30, 2023, 07:42:03 AM
There's nothing significant in the new rules being introduced. It's just a minor requirement, an ID system, come on. If a gambling site could require that and we would comply, there should be no problem with that. Of course, it will reduce the number of gamblers if what was happening before the new rule was introduced is that minors were allowed to gamble. It will just definitely correct what is wrong.

Now, everyone submits an ID before gambling, making it easier for the government to track their gambling activities, as gambling sites are also regulated by the same government that requires the ID.

Nothing is anonymous now; with government intervention, it becomes known to them already. But don't worry, they promise to keep that information secret, as there's a privacy law. Only you, the government, and the gambling site would know, no one else, unless someone leaks that info.
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 30, 2023, 06:59:09 AM
I have a different reason, though. If the Philippines won't be able to beat Jordan, then I don't think they'll be able to beat the team in the next round. So I guess if we really trust Gilas to be able to get a gold, backing them now against a tough team is the right thing to do. I don't question your bet, though, as we gamblers have our own analysis. It's nothing personal; we are just playing with numbers here, and at the end of the day, either one of us could be right. Good luck!
I see a good chemistry with our Gilas now and the coaching staff is really doing their best to adjust during the game.
Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and of course to fully support our team we almost have our win against Jordan before, and I'm sure we can do better this time.
I'm betting with the Philippines here despite of the odds, hoping that they can get a win today and advance to the next round.

Yup! Though not the same level or I mean same individual talents and skills unlike with what we have during the world cup but the chemistries and the rotations is much better compared with what they've got from the last FIBA tournament, though we really can't say that they can match it up since Jordan brings the same roster and the players already have that bond playing together.

A matter of what the system and the executions for the Gilas, if coach Tim manage to scout Jordan and create a good defensive strategy to compete, the chance to win is always possible.

Coach Tim Cone is probably the best coach in the PBA now; he chooses his roster well, so there's nothing we can do but trust him. I'm sure our fellowmen are very excited to see this game, and it's good to know that Gilas, per bookies, is the underdog. I will put my bet, of course, but I will not make it complicated. I will just focus on the ML, so it's either win or lose. There's no significant odds movement for now; I guess these will be the final odds going into the actual game.

By the way, if we look at the score distribution on their last game, you'll be impress and you can see how effective they are in moving the ball.

Newbies are not actually supposed to trade because they lack the knowledge and skills required to trade but that's not what happening nowadays. In fact, most of these newbies suicide to enter trading because of their hunger of profits, not realizing that while trading can be the best source of massive profits, it could also be the easiest way to get you mocked in trading. Good thing OP you know your place when it comes to trading.
793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Secure Your Legacy, Educate Your Loved Ones on: September 29, 2023, 08:45:40 PM
Indeed, we try to work hard to earn a lot of money not only for ourselves but also for our loved ones. But there are still some people who consider money more important than family affection. I remember a long time ago, I read comments that they don't want to share their bitcoin secrets with anyone, not even their parents or wives, they don't trust anyone but themselves. I really don't know what those people were thinking when they could say those things. I wonder, if there are no parents, who will raise them, why do they doubt their own parents?

After all, bitcoin is money, if we lose it, getting it back is not too difficult, but if our parents are no longer there, can we get their back?
Because not every people in this world are raised in the same way.

According to your post, you're raised with a good parenting and your wives are nice to you, this make you willing to give everything you have to your loves ones.

But there's a person who start to work when he was still 7 years old because his parents abandon him, his wives choose other rich man over him etc. So who can he trust?

That’s so heartbreaking. But either way, it’s still the best option to find a trusted ally wherein he will leave all his investments in case he’s no longer alive anymore. It can be your best friend or whoever he is, as long as he’s aware of your investment and he knows how to run and continue your legacy, for me that’s good enough. Your investment reflects your hard work, so if you think you can’t no longer benefit it, then leave it to a person who actually deserves your trust and had shown you kindness while you are still living your life.
794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep safe the mnemonic phrase - Whats Your method? on: September 29, 2023, 12:21:10 PM
I keep my keys in an easy and common way - I just write them down in a notebook and keep them together with the other things just to make sure that nobody will find them special.

Making it more complicated will possibly be the reason why we lose it totally. In fact, whatever we did, still we can't assure 100% safety assurance. Remembering that we are doing this online, we are definitely prone to hacking incidents. In fact, many people have lost their funds not only because someone knows their keys but because they voluntarily give them to scammers.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 29, 2023, 11:43:57 AM
To those who are waiting for the betting odds, it's already available now.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/basketball/international/asian-games/matches

As predicted by most of the bettors here, Jordan is the favorite to win. This is great odds for the Gilas backers; they are +3.5, but we can go with the moneyline for 2.30 odds.

Thank you for sharing the betting odds. I just clicked the link, and the spread is still the same, but the moneyline odds have increased for the Philippines, from 2.30 to 2.76 now. It has become more attractive that way. What do experts here think about this game? Do we have a good chance of winning?

What's it gonna be, moneyline or the handicap?
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: September 29, 2023, 07:19:07 AM
These money are going to the gambling site controllers located in different countries of the world including Russia, Philippines. On the other hand various agents are getting commission.

Sorry, mate, you've got me confused. How can the Philippines be included in this? I believe the Philippines has its own taxation laws, and they don't cooperate with other nations in terms of implementation. Payments typically go directly to the tax authorities, which we call the BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue). Also, I haven't heard of any laws where gambling site operators are considered tax witholding agents, so I'm totally lost by your comment.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports bets/bettting on the NFL games for this weekend on: September 29, 2023, 05:57:26 AM
Alright guys, i'm going to be looking at opening up an account on one of these sports betting sites for the weekend football games  Cool

What should I bet on? I am thinking maybe putting down like $50-$100 just for shits and giggles. (I never really gamble at all).

That's a good amount of money, but I recommend analyzing bets on your own. Personally, $50-$100 is already a significant sum to me, and I wouldn't trust anyone else to make betting decisions for me. Trust me, the satisfaction is much greater when you're the one selecting your bets based on your own analysis. I suggest looking at statistics and perhaps consulting betting forums to gather some tips, but ultimately, the final decision should be yours.

Everyone shares the same experience with you when these high ranked members are still beginners or newbies. All of us here started from a scratch, and by taking the forum topics one step at a time, we come to understand what's our priority and what's next to it. But first and foremost, we should stick with the rules and follow them without hesitations. That's the only way we can prevent ourselves from the forum bannings and suspensions when one dare to invade the forum without internalizing its rules.
799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: September 28, 2023, 01:40:25 PM
It is quite confusing that there is not specific definition of a professional gambler and also that America is one of the countries with strict gambling taxation law. But America is making money from gambling taxes, they shouldn't ban gambling. It just makes no sense.

In my country, gambling winnings are not taxed. It is considered more of a recreational activity than a source of income. This though is likely to change as more gambling organizations are created. The government may wake up one day and demand a piece of the gambling pie.
Countries that can make money from gambling taxes will not prohibit gambling because it is profitable for the country and can be a source of income for the country. And if the tax money can be used appropriately and distributed to the people to build the necessary facilities, of course, that will make the people happy.

And it's great if gambling winnings are not taxed in your country so you can receive them in full. You can also use it for other things. Sooner or later, the government will take tax money from gambling and even if they don't tax money on gambling winners, the government will take that tax money away from its casinos as a business.

Regardless of how taxes are implemented or where they are taken from, what's important is that they are utilized well according to their intended purpose. In our country, we don't have the kind of law that requires gamblers to pay taxes. Instead, the government generates its tax income from operators, most of whom are foreigners. Additionally, we are not allowed to gamble in casinos run by these operators; it's mostly for the purpose to attract tourist only.

Lottery is also considered gambling in our country, but it's the government that operates it, so they don't need to impose taxes, as their collection is enough to help the country generate funds. Also, lottery winners are not required to pay taxes as it's tax-free.
800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Inspired Me To Invest In Bitcoin. on: September 28, 2023, 12:40:45 PM
I am sure majority investors invested in Bitcoins because they saw potential in the coin. They know that Bitcoins are fixed in numbers/supply. Hence it is rare coin. Now we have often witnessed from past that, the asset which is limited in number becomes more valuable when more people try to acquire it. Similar things will also happen with the Bitcoins. Hence the people choose to invest in Bitcoins. The thing that inspired them was money.
Seeing many people have improved their living after investing in Bitcoin, brought attention to me, and started to follow what they are doing. Yes, profit is the main reason why I'm risking and why people are encouraged despite the risk that awaits us. We can't deny the opportunity given to us and of course, no one is able to just ignore it knowing that it changes one's life.

Investing in Bitcoin is just like making a better future that can be shared with the next generation of our family. But all of these become possible if we clearly understand how the market works and are patient enough.
