781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaurd yourself this year against crypto scams on: January 24, 2024, 07:18:02 AM
The pump and dump coins are for the risk takers and those that understand it make money from it but that is after the team, if they are lucky. Some investors like fast speed money spilling shit coins, nothing wrong if you have the fast money mentality but you have to cover your risk by knowing what you want to go in for.

For newbies, it is not a good decision to taste the waters that not very many investors have confirmed, it is better to stay with top coins whose leader is bitcoin.
782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 23, 2024, 10:41:15 PM

I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.

You are not manipulated neither is any one manipulated to over stake or consistently gamble. You are not the only one in this and it is greed that cause that uncontrollable pulse to always gamble even with losses.

Yes to rebet when the current game didn't win is the negative effect of gambling online because if you have your gambling staked online and you didn't win the betting ticket, there and then you can rebook the remaining games. If you are betting online then you need a great level of financial discipline otherwise you will see yourself rebooking games because you want to try and get something out of what you have lost, it creates an addition rapidly that you always see yourself login in to your app every time to check if you have won or lost.
783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Transparent dices ? on: January 23, 2024, 07:13:01 PM
The point is to identify whether the dice is real or fake because not many players can identify such.

I am not dice player though but as a dice player s/he should be able to identify whether that dice is fake or not, and of cause anyone who is routed in a specific gambling exercise should be able to know what such dice is real or being faked. just as those who are into investment whenever a fake investment is being introduced here you would see some people will go dig into that site to know whether such site is likely to be scam.

In every sphere of life, there are those who are professionals and these categories of people don't need to sweat out for them to know what it is. In gambling, there are also newbies and at all times it is not only knowledgeable dice players play the game, their are newbies. As always, newbie players find it difficult to understand if they are cheated or not. If a dice for instance is not rolling  properly or producing certain consistent numbers, it may not be spotted out by a newbie player, that is the point. So identify fake or real dice is still the first challenge. However, there are some test to know if a dice is real from the shape, if it is producing consistently certain predetermined number, that can be a sign to look out for.
784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Transparent dices ? on: January 23, 2024, 06:16:38 PM
The point is to identify whether the dice is real or fake because not many players can identify such.

And more so, some gamblers will play anyways since the appearing of the numbers is still by chance, they will feel that the probability of a particular number to appear against another is still the same or equal, so why giving up. But except the dice are obviously ultered, then it will be a source of concern.
785  Economy / Economics / Re: Price Regulatory Mechanisms: The Solution to the Economic Hardship in Countries on: January 23, 2024, 05:54:32 PM
I don't know, I think when a government resorts to price controls, it's never a good idea. What government should do is keep the streets clean from garbage and criminals. They should ensure that nobody from the government officials is stealing from the state. But economy itself should be regulated by the government as little as possible. The market should regulate it.

I believe also that price control is not the only thing that help to grow the economy to the exclusion of all other indices that supports the economy to improve. What if there is excess money in the economy , that causes inflation. What if the constitution is not strengthen for the benefit of the larger society but only benefit the few by appointment? What about corruption in government where they embezzle money for capital projects like roads, bridges , low cost houses etc, that leads to under development and further impoverish the people.

So price control is just the very few and minor factors that are even secondary in a sane economy because if government officials are honest, inflation will be dropped. It is inflation that is part of the reason for prices of goods and services to be uncontrollable.
786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 23, 2024, 03:15:57 PM
You don't need to introduce the person to gambling since he didn't come to you for that or he didn't tell you he was having issues with his slot betting, if he had done that then it would have been a good avenue to introduce him to something else which is sports betting as his alternative for slot.

One thing about sports betting especially football is that it looks easy to bet and win bet in reality it doesn't appear like that, so maybe the person has been betting on it with no success because sports betting is not just about watching football matches but it also includes analysing the games properly. Introducing him may be a futile attempt , he could tell you how much he has been losing in it but found slot to be better for him. I don't need introduce someone to gambling.
787  Economy / Economics / Re: My life plan for wealth and btc good idea on: January 23, 2024, 02:14:41 PM
Nobody knows the next price of bitcoin so stop day dreaming and expecting someone to give you accurately what the price will be at a certain time because they can't see tomorrow. You can check on https://coinmarketcap.com/ to see prices and take a speculative decision for your self.

However, what is certain is the expectation of a bull run that is coming in few months time and by that time the price of bitcoin can start appreciating. I suggest you move this thread to speculation sub board here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0
788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Increased Gambling Risk for the Younger Generation on: January 23, 2024, 01:45:38 PM
With the easy accessibility of the online gambling sites and tools, the younger generation is more involved in gambling. The risk for them is not only that they will lose money but gambling at such a high rate and at the age of teenage will cause them a lot of problems like lack of physical activity or no interest in the studies as they will more inclined to get easy entertainment in the form of gambling.

I have seen some people that have not allowed their children to be exposed to finance and making money, they want the children to first study and knowledgeable about what they want before they go into making money. They deny and deprive them certain access to finance until they are up to a certain age.

Gambling in early age is exposing the children to certain behaviour that their mind is not mature to carry at the time. When children gamble and win huge money they are likely to be disrespectful because even an adult who wins huge amount of money do misbehave to a certain extent because money actually have a controlling influence and if you can't control yourself you are likely to misbehave talk more of children. So life is a gradual process just like the day and night interchange theirselves when they should and it gives the earth morning and evening. There is time for everything, no need for rushing into gambling when you are not ready.
789  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why little things are always hard to handle on: January 23, 2024, 10:55:14 AM
No go think am like that because some days are like that. There are days wey be say no matter how you want do am you must have a bad day, so if e con be say na the day wey we no expect say e go dey difficult for us unto say na small thing wey we dey handle, then we go immediately conclude as your post talk say simple things dey hard to handle but the reality be say na just the way that day be.

Some people go say dem wake up on the wrong side of the bed and na so life be. Me I no believe am say little things dey difficult but na the day's destiny na im dey determine how the day go be . Some people get different believe for the day including people wey go first follow dem buy market, dem dey believe say some people get good luck when dem first buy market from dem and so dem go wish say na those people first open their market. The thing dey funny as it works for some people.
790  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No because of say you no get profits now take sell your coins. on: January 23, 2024, 06:56:21 AM
For newbies wey dey hear of bitcoin investment and say e do this and that and how e go make dem rich, make una dey play. Make we remember say na how you invest in something na so you go carry get profit. I wonder how many people fit buy 1btc because if you invest heavily den when the bull hit am the profit margin go also rise but if na small fraction wey you buy, na still small profit go enter your hand.

If you buy coin and you dey expect automatic increase for you to cash out it means you are greedy. Na timing be everything and season come and go, there is bear and bull for this crypto market so na to look at the right time wey you go invest and not to hastily invest for profit and back out early. Make we take chill pill because this bull fit land us into 6 digit price by den you wey don sell early go still dey regret. From April now we go get halving and soon between then and 2025 we suppose see very good volatility wey go push price high, so no panic sell if you don't have need for the money.
791  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Have you benefited from SOCIAL MEDIA AD? on: January 23, 2024, 05:36:48 AM
I dey believe say no free food anywhere even for free town and that is why we need to shine our eyes on anything wey concern social media. If adds pop up for my social media handle telling me how I go take earn some kind money like that omo I no dey bother click dem oo because of the believe wey I get say people no go show you road to money when dem dey look for money and truly many people don dey scammed because of wetin dem click because if you click and see you fit begin get interest and that is why I try to avoid them. But, if na comedy skit and other stuff wey I go learn something on, then I fit check am out. In other words, I never benefit from social media ads regarding financial gratification.
792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 22, 2024, 04:23:09 PM
If a gambler has not enough patience in gambling he might end his day so badly. Bad temper, disgust and disappointment will swallow his head the whole round and it may result in having bad decisions in the long run. That is why we need to be physically and mentally fit when gambling to enjoy it and possibly beat the game.

Self control is what a gambler need in certain cases because that relates to that patience which we are talking about. A repeated loses deserves a break but gamblers that doesn't have self control would want to get back to his money which means uncontrollable gambling for the sake of revenge and this doesn't come out in good taste. Whether physically or mentally fit, a gambler that doesn't know how to stop when they should will always get his bankroll exhausted because they keep refilling to chase loses while they keep falling uncontrollably.
793  Economy / Economics / Re: richdad poordad has no more guide after achieving freedom on: January 22, 2024, 03:38:33 PM

I know elon or warren must have their handbook to guide them, but I doubt they would want anyone to know and read their guide book.

cash flow 101, cash flow 202, what about cash flow 303?? cash flow 4040? cash flow 505?

There are ways to richness or being poor that you need hard work to ulter and that is destiny. It is destiny that makes certain things go the way they go and no matter your effort, you are neither here nor there and someone with little or no effort succeed in that which has been difficult to achieve. So some people are destined for certain level in life and the book read is just to help those who are struggling in certain challenges to keep moving. Perhaps Elon musk and warren may be destined for such financial levels they have attained and any little effort takes them higher.

Forget about the notes, don't peep into them because they have a grace different from yours and whatever decision they took worked for them because of the grace that is different.

We are all different, don't be wasteful, guide your finances and follow your plans. Things written on books are not always the way they are, reality changes and circumstances are different. The Economist are not rich or super rich because they wrote phrases and hypothesis.
794  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Interest is the common business in today's world? on: January 22, 2024, 02:31:30 PM
In today's business world, Usury is the way that people have survived in their business. It is difficult for a family member to raise a certain capital for you to start up your particular business area so you have to go borrowing to see that you start your business and keep financing it until a certain extent where it is financially stable and you can also lend a helping hand to others either by usury or gift.

What is not really good is the high rate of interest that is charged on it like what the banks do, upto 12%-25% is charged in banks especially those in Nigeria and that is really high for a business to survive with it amidst other economic development indices that are not there like electricity, double taxation etc.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: January 22, 2024, 12:57:49 PM
This is a normal feeling in anything that has to do with investment or gambling, the instinct is a factor that differentiates human. So in gambling, because you don't know the outcome of the bet you are trapped with this feeling of increasing your bet but I think it is because of greed that a gambler begins to reconsider that against his staking power. What matters is the capital and capacity that you can bear to lose but it is a natural feeling that comes in the mind of a gambler to double or triple your bet incase of winning but we also should consider losing too.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social aspects of online gambling on: January 22, 2024, 09:55:25 AM
Some people prefer to play at offline casinos because they want to socialize with other players and feel the live casino vibe, which can improve their mood when playing. But there are people who prefer online casinos because they don't like crowds and can play anywhere and anytime via their devices - they can play more quietly without any interference from other players. So it's not a matter of shortcomings between offline and online platforms, but just a matter of gamblers' preferences.

In other sites there is a single chat and it's so active that it's actually hard to follow, while there are thousands of players...

Yes it is a matter of preference. Some people like the offline gambling because they are not hiding their gambling character while some gamblers don't like someone to know how they gamble so it is about preference.

I know that casinos have a single chat room that is difficult to keep up with and some gamblers like it just that way because they don't want traces of their chat easily that is if at all they are chatting, hence they just want to gamble on their own in their own closet without involving any other party. But really online gambling doesn't really need a third party just like cryptocurrency.
797  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crypto & Older Generation on: January 21, 2024, 09:07:29 PM
I must say that the older generation don't have interest in cyptro because it looks scammy to them. They are exposed to fiat currency means of exchange,so cyptro look strange to them as it is stored in a digital wallet. Those older generation that knows the value of cyptro are investing and making huge gain.Older generation that feel reluctant about cyptro in my country are in their 60s to 70s.

The older people simply don't know how to go about cryptocurrency and also the internet looks like a challenge to them but they may not tell you this opening because they don't want to be seen as someone not informed about the use of the internet. The internet to me is the challenge here and I believe if everything about cryptocurrency were to be offline then you will see the kind of interest from the older generation. The old that is investing in crypto are those already visiting the internet and having businesses online requiring email address or social media marketing handle to marketing and transactions.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be a hope restorer if we go about it wisely! on: January 21, 2024, 04:49:58 PM
You are very right, if we win a large enough nominal amount, we can restore our own situation, especially financially, by making the best use of the winnings and using the winning money with extraordinary benefits, for example creating real business capital, which really helps someone's finances, but if they put their fate back into gambling, I think it will be in vain

But always remember that it is not a very good decision to plan with gambling winnings because such hope can be dashed at the instant of losing and that will set you back more than you were as you would have used your initial capital to gamble and calculating, while waiting for potential winning to show real. Most people who have been planning with gambling money have not been succeeding because they put all hope in it but gambling profit comes as luck.
799  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 21, 2024, 04:06:08 PM
When people see how others make money from gambling, how they win millions or easily increase their deposit in a short time, then those people are the first victims of addiction. People who are greatly dependable from money - first one to get addicted. Those who gamble for fun, most likely wont get addicted, as they can switch to something other to get fun. Once again, most weak, unprotected stratum of the population are affected most.

That is the dependants. Yes those that depends on the addicts for money are likely to be the worst hit because they will need money and if the addict is not winning to provide for them then they will suffer. However, the addict will also be affected because they are the first hit of their inability to win and usually those that depend on someone for money may feel the heat of not getting the money if the provide pretend not to have the money but if genuinely the money isn't available then the provider will feel the effects more, in this case the addict will feel it if he is not winning.
800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 21, 2024, 03:11:14 PM

Question: would she be so disheartened and mad as this if the son had won the bet on a multi million price?
Dear fellows, let's assume you are the mom, what would be your state of mind on this context?

No she won't be that mad if the son had won jackpot with the stolen money. What she would have done is to only talk to him about not stealing but to inform her if he wanted some money to gamble  Grin

We have also had issues hear about children in religious home where gambling is forbidden and the child won huge some of money and heaven didn't lose. So such cases are not going to get the perpetrator to die, it will only be more painful if the risk didn't result to winning but if it did, the mother will swallow the shame that the son stole from her but be happy that he won the bet which the stolen money was used for.
