I would love to take advantage of this sale but I'm still waiting for your eCheck to clear.

Hi there,

We don't normally issue eChecks, but for some odd reason (perhaps because it didn't recognize his IP address or computer) it was only giving Jay (our CTO) that option when he was fulfilling orders while I was on 27 hours of flights. If you reject the payment I can reissue as an instant payment now.
82  Economy / Currency exchange / Get up to 5% more for your bitcoin NOW at spendbitcoins.com -- Limited time on: July 30, 2012, 12:54:01 AM
Hi bitcoin spenders,

Lucky you! We want to balance our # of bitcoins vs fiat currency today, so until that is done, we are giving you 5%* more for your national currency than LAST PRICE on Mt Gox (give or take 5 minutes).

If you've been holding out on cashing out or spending your bitcoins, now is the time! Head over to http://spendbitcoins.com while this sale lasts. It could end anytime!

Happy spending,
Jeremy West
http://spendbitcoins.com

*Please note that while every other conversion option is figured at the mid-market exchange rate from Mt Gox LAST USD, wire transfers are figured at Commonwealth Bank's retail AUD->other currency rates, so if you choose a wire transfer while you will probably get MORE than Mt Gox, it will certainly not be 5% more. Please see link on the wire page to estimate how much you will get in your national currency.

Oh while we are making suggestions,  I would love to see more options for grocery stores for US people.  Groceries are something we all have to buy on a regular basis whether we want to or not  Smiley

The best way to make a suggestion (and bump it to the top of our list) is to go ahead and order it on the "anything" page of our website. This makes you a guinea pig for the new service and still allows you to get your bitcoins back if it doesn't work! Wink

I will start making use of the anything* page I guess.  I have just always felt like I didn't want to cause extra work for you guys...  it seems like if everyone had you doing custom orders you would not have time to.. take showers and eat dinner.  I do not want to be the reason you are malnourished and stink.  I have always just been really thankful that you offer amazon cards and paypal at the stable spot price... I don't want to rock the boat Smiley

Wink Actually using the anything page to make suggestions causes me less work. I used to add pages at people's suggestions just to find that neither they nor anyone else actually made an order for that page. The anything page means I only do the work to add a page when someone is actually ready to order there. Smiley

Hey Jeremy. What do you think about adding the Payza [was Alertpay] and Skrill [was MoneyBookers]? Some people can't have PayPal, some people boycott them. ;-)

Working on it. Smiley
87  Economy / Services / Re: Amazon gift codes back at spendbitcoins.com on: July 29, 2012, 08:20:22 AM
Currently, we are only accepting orders in multiples of $25 so we can preorder the gift codes and know we can get them to you.

So if I choose any currency from the list of drop-downs other than USD, what amount should be entered?  e.g., 25 GBP for UK?  You have $25 which is the symbol only used in U.S and Canda, of the currencies in the list:

Quote
Country / Currency:

 - usa - United States of America (USD)
 - canada - Canada (CAD)
 - france - France (EUR)
 - germany - Germany (EUR)
 - italy - Italy (EUR)
 - japan - Japan (JPY)
 - uk - United Kingdom (GBP)

Amazon Value (in above currency)

Sorry.. I'll fix that ASAP. Should be 25 Units of any of the above except JPY which should be 2500.

I don't know whats up they havet been responding here like normal.
got my paypal.

Oh no! I must have missed an email notification from bitcointalk when someone posted in this thread, and then they don't send another until you've looked at the thread again. Sad Sorry to everyone who posted here and didn't hear from me. As always, the best way to contact us is through the "Help" link at the top of our site.

I think he's running low on funds in his account due to demand.  Jeremy had me accept an eCheck instead of a typical transfer to my Paypal last night.  A little concerning because of the amount involved, but I trust him so hopefully it is just a temporary setback.  Really would like to see Amazon & eBay gift cards get brought back on there.

Nothing to do with running low on funds. While I was on a flight my brother was handling paypal orders and I guess because it didn't recognise his IP or his computer or something it was not allowing him to do instant transfers, only eChecks.

Btw, all is sorted with both PayPal and Amazon now. Sorry for all the inconvenience caused!

91  Economy / Service Announcements / Delays in order processing/answering tickets or emails on: July 26, 2012, 08:22:53 AM
From https://spendbitcoins.zendesk.com/entries/21752122-delays-in-order-processing-answers-to-tickets-or-emails:

Hi everyone,
I sincerely apologize for all delays anyone has experienced while I have been on a combined business trip/vacation in the USA for the last month. I thought that between me working part time and our CTO Jay picking up the slack we would be able to run as smoothly as normal, but we then had several issues with Amazon and PayPal which have taken up an inordinate amount of our time.

I finally arrived home in Australia today, 27 hours after getting on the first of 4 flights in Seattle, USA. While I was on the plane and Jay was handling things, PayPal "randomly" selected our account for yet another review. This has slowed Jay down quite a bit and as the account is in my name, only I am authorized to speak with PayPal to get it unblocked.

I am doing everything I can tonight (6:12 pm here now) to get all orders through and all emails/tickets answered, but I anticipate crashing at some point after all the flying. I promise to get everything that can possibly be resolved tomorrow resolved tomorrow and to communicate with everyone else as to when I expect their issues to be resolved. If you have not heard from us within 24 hours of this message, please contact us again because that means your message has been misplaced.

I apologize again for any inconvenience my travels have caused anyone. I pride myself on giving good, timely customer service, and I have failed on that many times over the last month. Everything should be back to the normal high standard once I get through everything in the system and things settle back to normal over the next few days.

Happy Spending,
Jeremy

It seems that US-based purchases are temporarily suspended [2012-07-14, 1320-hrs, EDT].
Any idea when that might change, and will you still accept MoneyPak after?

Thanks.

Hi there,

US spending of bitcoins is working fine with everything except eBay at the moment. US buying of bitcoins is suspended because we have hit Moneypak limits. We are working on other ways to exchange USD for bitcoins at the moment but don't have any set up yet. Please sign up for our email, Facebook, or twitter lists if you would like to be notified when additional options are available.

Happy spending!
Jeremy

Yo Jeremy,
i bought 32 bitcoins around 3pm thru westpac, but the address i gave is
different to the one i seein my bitcoin wallet under 'recieve coins'. My address
or what i thought was my address is half the size of all these addresses ive seen on this thread.
Im trying not to panic, your rep tells me, you wont rip me, but, could it have gone to someone else?
The BTC address i gave, dont know where the hell it came from, this is all so confusing to a newB, its
only around 10 characters long, as opposed to 14ZETYRwkA6RjeA73WJ5jf2HGksXChPoGh which is the address
when i look under 'recieve coins'.
I hope its not too late, everything has fucked up for me today(friday 13th too), Lord please allow one thing to
go right and let Jeremy work some magic.
going to take a xanax, and check back soon.
thanx mate,
Matt

Hi Matt,

If it wasn't a real bitcoin address it would not let me send. Can you please forward your quote to jeremyATspendbitcoins.com and I'll look it up for you. Take a breath. All will be okay. Smiley

That's right, our sale continues. Order Aussie dollars in your bank account, to pay bills, the Austpost Reloadable Visa, or "anything" and you get 2% above current (give or take 15 minutes) Mt Gox price for your bitcoins. Act now, who knows when this sale will end? Smiley
