OoC,

50BTC is PPLNS and PPS.
Pool fees are 1.5% for PPLNS and 6% for PPS.

I would strongly warn new users not to use this pool as they have never paid me for shares that I submitted.  I am still owed somewhere in the vicinity of 14BTC.
Pool operator no longer replies/responds to users in thread.  Last post was over 3.5 months ago, even though they almost daily login to forum.
When mod placed warning on their pool thread that "THE POOL OPERATOR HAS STOPPED RESPONDING AND IS NOT PAYING MINERS" they of course immediately responded to forum mods, but still no communication to users.

82  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: 50BTC.com-THE POOL OPERATOR HAS STOPPED RESPONDING AND IS NOT PAYING MINERS on: May 20, 2014, 03:51:39 PM
No response whatsoever from 50BTC to anyone in this thread. No post from 50BTC since February 2.

I believe the "THE POOL OPERATOR HAS STOPPED RESPONDING AND IS NOT PAYING MINERS" should still be placed on the thread.

The fact that they responded solely to a forum mod is an obvious attempt to ensure that the warning is removed from the thread title in order to continue luring unsuspecting miners to mine on their scam pool.

Don't mine on this pool.  You've been warned.

When you create a post in this thread, please make sure you use the title:

Re: 50BTC.com-THE POOL OPERATOR HAS STOPPED RESPONDING AND IS NOT PAYING MINERS

Thank you!
83  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.452 BTC for 180GH/s on: May 18, 2014, 05:20:04 PM
I was PM'd asking how all this happened. Here's a recap:

I ordered an S1 on April 30, 2014.
Bitmain shipped it via UPS on May 2, 2014
UPS updated on the web that it was to be deis yhe chance ivered on May 6, 2014
For the following 10 days, UPS kept updating on the web that it was to be delivered the next day.
On May 15th/16th, 2014, UPS issed a loss claim.
I emailed Bitmain about getting a refund on May 17, 2014.
Bitmain responded by offering me a replacement S1 and 3 x 0.05 coupons on May 17th/18th, 2014.

I will update this post with more info in the coming days.

That is great customer service. You got same day turnaround. The moment UPS called it quits they replaced the unit and offered you transferable coupons. Nowhere on their website do they offer refunds. Nowhere on their website they guarantee profit margins. This is the chance you take when you order anything that will be shipped. Next time buy one from a retail store.

Are you for real? Show me a retail store where you can buy a miner? Tigerdirect doesn't count, due to BFL connection.

There is no reason the SD card problem would cause a breaker to trip

Of course it wouldn't... I was just reading how others corrupted their SD's when they cut power abruptly.

I replaced the PS, then the BBB Board wouldn't get a link light.. Then I replaced the BBB with one of my own from my personal stash.. and it linked up fine.

Then I put back the orig BBB (Because I wouldn't have a use for a partially populated BBB like the one in the miner.)  Luckily, it linked up once again and decided to work.

Anyway.. I'm hashing right along now.

I did notice something else while removing the boards however...  My boards have larger caps on them attached to the surface mount ones... but the solder is connecting to the cap right next to it on a few of them... maybe someone would know if this is a concern.

Regards,

Rich

Isn't this the "fix" that bitmain recently released?
It appears to be, yes.  Have they stated what problem these extra caps address?

Chips that go missing after a while

Here's something I posted up on the scammer accusation thread for 50BTC which is located here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=359277.0

After nearly 6 months, having lost my patience with 50BTC, I've decided to break my silence regarding my situation.

NO ONE SHOULD BE MINING ON THIS POOL

I started mining on this pool back around the end of August 2012 and for the most part was satisfied with the pool. On October 17th i was able to perform my last payout from the pool before 50BTC blocked miners from making any payouts. Keep in mind that I would often do twice a day payouts to minimize the amount I left in the pool. When payouts were blocked, after a few days I started moving my farm over to another pool. I completely moved my entire farm off 50BTC after 7 days. According to my estimates, and multiple emails and skype conversations I have had with 50BTC, I had in the vicinity of 15BTC in my account with them.  Balance was probably more, but I am satisfied with the 15BTC estimate, as that correlates well with another account on another pool I had at that time period. My farm, fortunately, was split between two mining pools. After a rather lengthy conversation with them on skype on February 17th, they sent me a payment of ~.2 BTC. Since then I have heard nothing from 50BTC.

I believe I have been as patient as possible, having hoped that this pool would come thru, but that doesn't look like it will happen.

Once a thief, always a thief. Honestly, I don't understand why anyone mines on this pool anymore.  History has shown us that mining pools that go bad eventually die.  The death for this pool cannot come soon enough. It was nice knowing you 50BTC, but I wish you a painful miserable death for the way you handled the situation.

VOTE WITH YOUR HASHES! TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW NOT TO MINE ON THIS POOL.

To this day I have not received a response to that post.
To this day I have not received full payment for shares I submitted to this pool.
I do not intend to ever mine on this pool again, and I intend to spread the word regarding how this pool never paid me my ~14.8BTC

actually i do but i know theres more than one way to skin this cat..

are you talking about decompiling the binary?  If so, have you ever tried doing that?  It's not trivial.
88  Economy / Services / Re: [Lee group,Round 7]2850$ and 2750$ ! Sales promotion of dragon 1T miner on: April 18, 2014, 10:53:18 PM
Is the price on these still $2850 ? I'm interested in acquiring one of these units for my collection Smiley $2300 is the current price-to-beat, apparently...

who's got 1TH at $2300?
89  Bitcoin / Pools / GHASH.io payout failing the past several hours on: April 17, 2014, 05:03:01 PM
Has anyone been able to create a payout the past 4-5 hours on ghash.io?

I have been attempting to do my daily withdrawal and the pool responds with "Error: Insufficient funds".  I usually do a complete withdrawal of my balance. I even tried doing a withdrawal of 50% of my balance and still get the same error.  Wondering if something is up with their hot wallet?

You guys do know these are ran of a raspberry pi and is just stored on a SD card take the card out copy card ...

I'm not sure what you're talking about - what exactly would that accomplish??

He probably doesn't understand the difference between "source" and "executable/binary"  Wink

Am I the one who didn't get all coins after they completely rebooted the system?

No, you're not.
92  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 05, 2014, 02:45:31 PM
what a complete trainwreck. geezus. considering s1's will be worthless in 3 months tops. it's time for an alternative. how about a 5Th for 6.5 btc. mmmmm hmmmmm

Yeah - I don't get where the ROI is coming from on some of these units. Given the difficulty level - and constant increases,  the market price of BTC, the cost of the mining rigs - and the upcoming boning from the tax man,  I just don't see it.

Must be that new math I've been hearing about.

There is not a single machine that would get your ROI unless you are playing the long term game. Price of BTC will go up to reflect that difficulty changes and cost of the miners. At the moment, BTC is going through some changes and government announcements having negative impact on the price.

Think this as an investment rather than regular monthly income.

Price of BTC could be $2,000 or $20 in the next 12 months.

Even you design your own asics and manufacturer your miners you will not make your money back unless you pre-mine and sell those miners few weeks / months later just like every other manufacturer.

That reasoning is a fallacy.  A piece of hardware will generate a relatively finite amount of BTC in it's lifetime.  As difficulty increases, the amount of BTC generated by a piece of hardware asymptotically approaches zero.  Given the amount of BTC the hardware will generate and given the amount of fiat required to purchase said hardware, it usually makes more sense to buy and hold btc now if you assume that price of BTC will go up.

1l1l11ll1l,

Does the top S2 in the stack have a dead display?

Not dead, just dim.

Kinda bummed about my dead displays  Cry

My S2 is working now!!

I noticed a chunk of glue(?) in the slot with the main card.  I removed it and reseated the card and now everything works!

http://imgur.com/a/D4xcV#1

I have some glue on mine too, but it didn't interfere, and there appears to be something under the glue as well. By the edge of the tab, it looks like its been partially cracked or added after the fact or something. The pictures didn't turn out great but you can at least see the glue on both sides. I'll take it out and snap another later tonight, but it works solidly so I'm going to ignore it for now.

---------

As for the fragile sticker, the only thing on the box besides the tracking/shipping label is a big blue sticker with a black D on it. Which I'm guessing is for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ORM-D that? but it just a D and nothing else.

It's just a rework of the board.  If you look closely, a trace has been cut and a jumper installed.  The hot glue is there to help keep the wire down and try to keep other stuff from snagging on the jumper wire.

Who wants to see the difference between the Bitmain BBB and the stock BBB?

{pics snipped}

Thanks 1l1l11ll1l,

the small differences make me think the S2 BBB is a chinese knockoff clone..
97  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 04, 2014, 01:46:46 PM
FYI I heard back from Bitmain - nice fast customer service.  A few relevant points:  (1) They are standing behind the products, and they promised to refund my trashed unit immediately (we will see how quickly that really happens, but hopeful), (2) they are letting me try to salvage Unit 1 from the control board in Unit 2 without voiding warranty (this was pursuant to authorization so maybe not a universal permission), and (3) they said that BATCH 2 units have a fix for the weak mounting of the boards, which they are aware of.

did you email them?  the info@ email?
98  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 04, 2014, 03:08:53 AM

did you change the ping address in /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh ?

I did, it wouldn't hash at all until I did that.  I've changed it to my router IP and even removed it.  Both result in the same behavior and it's overwritten on a reboot, of course.

after restarting cgminer, check to see that cgminer is a running process.  it's run in a screen session.  screen -l to view available screen sessions.

8 of the 11 cards were not seated properly.   Shocked

However, after re-seating, there is still no display and no lights on my router from the Ethernet connection.

I've already done a second pass at re-seating, and the internal Ethernet and ribbon cable are connected fine...any other ideas?

Since the display isn't lit, does that suggest a power terminal isn't connected or that the main board is fried?   Huh

At least the fans make an impressive sound.   Cry

I got my S2 today.

However, the display does not light up.  Although the fans do turn on and I can see red lights inside it.

Also, the Ethernet is not detected by my router.

So the consensus is that I should open it up and see if anything needs to be reseated?  Will this void the warranty?

Thanks!
Volgon

Check that all cards and cables are seated properly.

check lights on controller's ethernet port

I thought the 'hash for a while then stop and beep' issue might be power related so I removed a blade and started it back up.  It ran for a while and started beeping again--so that doesn't seem to be the issue.

If you ssh in and type '/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh stop' followed by '/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh start', it starts right back up with mining.  Is anyone using 192.168.1.x and having this issue?  Or not using that subnet but also not having the issue?

Really frustrating to have a miner that only mines for a few minutes then stops and beeps.

did you change the ping address in /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh ?
