801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 21, 2014, 06:40:51 PM
So you guys want Minerals to be the main e-sports betting currency? Is that what you thinking? Should we take this path?
I've got a friend who's now working on a betting service that will accept cryptocurrencies. I can convince him to use Minerals only and make it mainly e-sports focused since there's no major e-sports betting service (at least that I know of)

We could embed twitch.tv to watch major tournaments and bet on the outcome of each game. SC is not the only game we could bet on. Twitch.tv got many other popular games that are competitive and popular at the same time
http://www.twitch.tv/directory

If you guys think its they way to go we can do it no problem!

yeah i know starcraft fans will hold a bias for this coin. but i urge them all to consider that gaming alone doesnt make a coin. for it to hold value it needs to attract investors.. the more investors the better and they can and should be able to come from all walks of life. if we narrow our investment market, we narrow our potential. so as much as this coin will attract many starcraft enthusiasts.. let me just state for the record..

i have never played starcraft in my life.

im investing in this coin purely based on structure and design features. and features will attract new investors to boost the price.. so is that what we want or no?

edit: and guys dont go gambling away all your money lol

We're Mineral.  We sponsor a tournament with prize Mineral and then we market the hell out of that tournament.

Heck, we should sponsor every damn tournament out there with at least some mineral.  Starcraft players need to hear the name over and over and over again.

Forget anon.  Starcraft is our niche and it is a HUGE niche.

And if the dev can create a betting site or betting bot if those are legal, all the better.

Agreed. linking a game server to the min wallet with some API would be awesome but a lot of work.

this is very advanced thinking. i have imagined playing fps and the actual gameplay generating blocks as though mining the coin. with bonus scores for good performance also providing bonus rewards in the block. basically.. getting paid to play. lol
To many ways to exploit it I reckon... Bots, p.servers, rigged matches. It's a good idea in theory but not practical.

doesnt mean it wont be done anyway.. right?

i feel these pools have been skimming all our shares hence why low payouts all around crypto. just changing pool can increase payout and i find that very strange. keep an eye on them. or maybe dont use them. always check your mining shares per hr then switch pool and check an hr again to see which one give best payout.
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [DIG] DIGIT | Unique & Transparent | Fair & Dynamic PoW & PoS | on: June 21, 2014, 06:20:30 PM
whats going on with this coin? why supernova return 0 shares mining? i smell something dodgy

how does one use this algorithm?Huh?

sgminer - what -o http://

??

this coin has rush written all over it. op provided no meaningful info. how the hell are we supposed to mine this coin. there are no instructions. so who is mining now when noone is told or knows how to connect to pool?

edit: nevermind.. dont care.. bye

we should begin discussing possible new features asap.

among the top demanded i think in crypto is anonimity features and encrypted chat. these are 2 features that are very useful moving forward for attracting new investors. wouldnt mind hearing your thoughts on these being possible implementations for the near future?

Yes! Lets discuss new features plz  Cheesy

I am now looking into integrating TOR for the wallet. But not sure if its needed since Razor coin has it

What's encrypted chat? Do you know of some coin that already has this feature? I know SilkCoin has irc chat built in. It doesn't seem to be encrypted tho

i wouldve commented on it earlier.. but as far as i know. tor network isnt as secure as some still think it is. i vaguely remembered reading an article about it being compromised and it's lost it's true anonimity.

i saw cinnicoin has an encrypted messaging system built into their wallet. if im not mistaken it somehow uses the blockchain to send messages.. but dont hold me to that ;p

irc chat isnt a bad integration either. makes things simpler for keeping up with community discussions.

all reassuring that i have a good eye and nose for good investment. i never mined or bought/traded a single one of these coins except for eac and i sold when it first hit somewhere around 16,000 satoshi. all these coins in the list except for eac are all garbage and you shouldve dumped them when you had the chance. look at real coins and consider moving whatever investment you have in these crapcoins to one of these:

distrocoin
minerals
noblecoin
blackcoin

these are the top coins in crypto atm with real longterm investment opportunity. i suggest you shift your focus from crapcoins and look at these real and growing opportunities. minerals is only just begining it's rise. good opportunity to get in on an investment at the low right now.

Donated 1k.

Cheers Dude!

The Devs done a great job and made sure that all people taking part in minerals have a solid, fair, and profitable coin and is managing it on a shoestring.

If we didn't have minerals this week then we would be stuck with crap altcoins.

i have 4 gpus in my system

what command can i use to get the gpu indexes as this software sees them? i used "-di 123" to use my 2nd to 4th gpus while leaving my primary gpu unused. is this correct?? it starts mining but is also using my primary gpu so i feel i did something wrong somewhere. anyone have a similar setup can point me in the right direction?

I think you would want just -di 01 to just disable your first graphics card.

ok just tried that but the result was the same. my pc starts locking up because it's using my primary. can i specify intensity with -i?

there is not an exchange that will not want to hold this coin because they get free stake coins for every coin that sits on their exchange long enough.

1.6K satoshi  ! It's amazing, I hope it's just the start although my 800+ order wasn't filled.
You on CEX trading? give it time lol
Yup, I am trading on ccex, 2K satoshi at the highest just now.

ok while ur doing the price updates. did anyone realize that itll only cost 400btc to buy all the minerals at this price? this baby's going up.

Ya know what, I think Min is doing just fine at the moment with exchanges we have. If others do not want to participate in the future of coins such as MIN, then so be it  Cool

lol

soon the 1000 satoshi buys will be done when the weak hands sell early trying to treat this coin like the rest and all will remain is the committed 100,000+ satoshi sellers(.001btc). the multipool will do the rest of the work.
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 20, 2014, 11:24:53 PM
Secondly i dont know if you guys saw this but the platform for decentralized exchanges will gain ground. no more need to trust exchanges to store your coins, will they shut down and run away with them? u never know when its going to happen. could be today.. could be tomorrow.. could be next 3 months. but decentralized exchanges will keep things anonymous, and secure (or at least as secure as you keep your coin storage network).

Suggestion for strategic investment and usage of the multipool

i would like to suggest to the multipool owners and our multipool miners a strategy which will be geared towards maximizing our use of the multipool technology. i would liketo suggest that the multipools after obtaining btc were to send an equal fraction to each of the major exchanges and simply buy up the sell book. not wait or post a buy order. this will mean that multipool miners will get a smaller payout per day as the owner would then have to split the minerals based on the average price paid for each one. but will also mean that the average price will be lower than the high, meaning a win for all as the value of our coin has risen. instead of taking the cashout route.. though some will do this regardless.

e.g.

multipool gathers 10btc after 1 day of mining.
splits that into 3.3btc per exchange and sends to 3 exchanges.
buys up the book on each exchange from 1000 to 2000 satoshi
based on the total number of minerals obtained he finds the average price paid per mineral
then distributes to miners based on their percentage of btc gained through mining the multipool

in this strategy it works out that all the miners paid an average of 1500 satoshi whilst the value of their coin is now 2000 satoshi each.

what i suggest for those of us participating in the mutipool is to create a separate wallet for multipool mined coins which we will try not to put back on the market because obviously.. as the value rises we will be buying them back again from day traders at a higher price. so best to just hold on to it till the last samurai sells his minerals for less than 1btc=1min LOL.

it is about being bullish, nonchallant about price or return of investment and building the value of the currency. once it is useful, people will pay whatever price for it just as they do with btc. we lose minorly in the short term to gain much more over a slightly longer term. with the development of new services and merchants, new technologies and uses for the coin it wouldnt matter if it's valued 10 cents each or $1000, investors will buy in to make use of the services at whatever the price is at the time.

essentially, the lower price we sell at, is the more difficult or longer it it is to rise higher due to day traders. we must think of the early sells as the low. that low can be .01 cents or it could be $1. but its all up to the miners and the market what price they want to relieve themselves of the currency and liquidate for btc for whatever their reason. but it is my sentiment that nothing attracts investors like rising value. so if they want to speculate all week while the price climbs to 10,000 satoshi it will be their loss.

needless to say this will take a team effort on the part of our entire community. let's make this one coin, the coin we dont manipulate or daytrade on the markets risking a downward spiral. let this be the one coin that has no panic sellers. let this coin go back to the intention for the design of crypto.. "building a worthful currency that can compete with fiat and generates increase in value rather than inflation and devaluing of the currency" as the bankers have done to fiat all around the world.

#RZR is live @BittrexExchange .. don't cut yourself. seems not..
Never heard of it razor lol
Wow I think I'm going to point my scrypt miners to Razor! lol just did a little research  Grin

good luck.... over 2ghs per workers on the pools... scrypt! LOL Cheesy
ya really ,, well I am officially mining razor on suprnova.cc lol that was quick... cool coin actually... don't worry all my gpus are busy earning more MIN Smiley

its should earn at present rate about $2.09 a day lol,,, razor that is..... (that's with just 5 little grid seeds Smiley

$2 a day with 5 gridseeds.. lol

just a few months ago before the asics came out we were all mining at $40-$100 a day on 1mh gpu rig. these guys were supposed to hold the coins so the value would rise instead they dumped to pull out roi. its like they thought crypto was going to die or something.

anyway, minerals is a decent enough name and with some work we can build it to a point where it is also useful for commerce. if everyone is on board i hope we can focus on building the value of this coin and not cashing out on it. even if it is just to buy .0005btc worth of coin each day. with teamwork and patience we can build it's value to something worth talking about.
