801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: May 15, 2023, 07:12:55 PM

So in gambling, make sure you know why you are doing it and the purpose of it, and are you doing it for the long run?
For the purpose of entertainment, gamblers surely stick to their limits and self-control. But if they consider gambling as their source of income, no way that they will follow our advice. Instead, they even spend more and gamble more without thinking about the mental and financial effects on themselves.
I agree that only a few gamblers will take their time to listen to advice but rather expect the majority to ignore us and do what they think is right (even though it was totally wrong).
Most of the time people start gambling as a form of entertainment. This is true, but when timepass automatically people start to concentrate on earning out of their gambling activities. The lucky part, gambler wins and withdraw the winning. The negative part money lost and running behind to recover what one have lost through gambling. It is the time when a gambler should have self control to limit spending. Take a break and think how fast he/she had lost funds. Only through loss real understanding of gambling experienced. Further limiting the loss or just go bankrupt is one's own choice.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government's actions against crypto on: May 14, 2023, 11:53:43 PM
The US government and the cryptocurrency market are having a lot of ups and downs, and it seems like they're headed towards a very important conflict. This conflict will determine the fate of many people and companies involved in cryptocurrency. They might have to shut down or move to a different country.

Governments are central authorities. Cryptocurrencies are decentralized systems. These two concepts have to conflict with each other forever. So I'm not surprised by the expectation you've created. Also, I think we can hear news like this all over the world, not just in the US, because the problem is fundamentally a conflict of concepts. Of course, they can find common ground under reasonable conditions, but I think they will always be at opposite poles with each other.
As stated, this is the common news that we can come across the world. At some point we can expect both the markets to have coexistence. Maybe such an action can take years and years as people aren't completely moved to the technology depending life.

Both will be opposite to each other in terms of existence and the operation. On the top both were to give the same service. When one if found better over the other the conflict becomes serious as the government holds control over the financial system.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like Meme Coins ? on: May 14, 2023, 11:49:01 PM
People who had made good fortune out of memecoin likes it much more than the common cryptocurrency users. I'm not much into memecoin, but I prefer having specific memecoin for what it have delivered in the past. As stated memecoins were short term investment, if not we should've invested what we can afford to loss.

In recent days once again memecoin discussion have reached the cryptocurrency trend. Someone can be seen lucky and we should understand the risk in it and progress. Major thing required with memecoin investment is luck.

Once people used to get good chance to earn bitcoin from faucets and other giveaway. Now those have got limited, which means the choice of receiving bitcoin rewards have decreased whereas the possibility to make investment and buy bitcoin have increased. Even now we aren't late for what is being mentioned in the opening post. Ir is all about the perception and the acceptance of how we take it forward. If we find the growth have achieved its peak and not gonna profit then its our wrong calculation. We need to understand the market and know the reality through the growth charts. Major thing, we should have the belief, shouldn't get into the market for the sake of someone else.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk IPL Prediction Pool & Discussion 2023 on: May 14, 2023, 11:08:28 PM
Two rounds back it happened with me. Once again I've failed with the last four match prediction. On the leaderboard I'm standing down and no more chances of reaching the top position. Congratulations to the leaderboard toppers. All the four matches were completely against the prediction, something completely one sided.

The competence is much between the second, third and fourth position ad the points are something close.
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: May 14, 2023, 11:00:02 PM
Continuous wickets falling down from the beginning of CSK batting. One is coming and going back. I don't know if CSK can play 20 overs or not. In my perception if they play 20 overs  they will not be able to run more then 150. Looking at the current state of play, it would be hard to guess that CSK's low score is a big barrier for the opposition.
CSK completed the entire 20 over game and set Kolkata a target of just 144 runs.  It's a big chance for Kolkata to win the match and if they try, they might succeed. the target of 144 runs in a T20 match is not too big so it can be achieved without being a very good team. It will be a big failure for Kolkata if they fail to take advantage of this opportunity. Let's finally see how many opportunities Kolkata can exploit
If Kolkata can surpass CSK 144 run target they would have a decent chance to win the match. When playing intelligently Kolkata Knight riders can easily reach their objective of 144 runs in a T20 encounter. But if they do not take advantage of this chance their team will suffer serious setback. It will be intriguing to watch how the batsmen for the Kolkata Knight Riders fare during their pursuit. As of the most recent update Kolkata Knight riders batting is still going strong. They have scored 39 run in just 5.3 overs showing that they are likely to win this match. It will be fascinating to watch how the match develop in the remaining over while it is still in action

Chennai super kings failed to make a decent score. Anything under 150 runs is almost impossible to defend in these IPL matches and due to this Kolkata Knight Riders comfortably won this match.

Chennai super kings had a good start with 61-2 in around 8 overs But after that, they started losing quick wickets and never recovered.
Shivam Dube scored 48 runs later in the innings but they were not able to make a decent total. Kolkata Knight Riders also had a bad start when Jason Roy was out at 33-3 but later Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh both scored 50+ runs and won the game for Chennai super kings.
Bo big score cane from the openers. Whether it is CSK or any other team when there is good start at the opening, automatically we can see good score coming from the team. Today CSK failed to score as Gaikwad scored 17 runs, Conway scored 30 runs and Rahane scored 16 runs. Somehow Dubey managed to score important runs for the team. If not the score could've been even lower.

Early wickets from KKR gave CSK a winning opportunity, but the same worked for CSK as Rana and Rinku got to be strong and made their half centuries that made KKR record an easy winning.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 14, 2023, 10:54:34 PM
Edit: RCB! Wow! 112 runs victory margin against a team like RR is freaking insane. Parnell was something else. 3rd lowest score in IPL history. RR are basically knocked out while RCB moves one step closer to the playoffs.
Yaar it was really painful to watch. I was backing Rajasthan to win the match but uff that was some meme level collapse despite having a good batting lineup.

Now their playoff chances are slim, they are almost out and might be dependent on other team's results. Maybe if Lucknow, Punjab and RCB lose their remaining matches.
I am also shocked with this result and batting of RR because As they started this chase of 172 I place bet on them for having win as Buttler, Root and Hetmyer with Samson and Jaiswal this target was looking achievable and things were also favourable for them at home, but suddenly we have collapse and all gone without giving any positive hope now RR is having 6 loses in their 8 matches which is the worst outcome near the end of season.

Now, they have just one game against PBKS which will be played at Dharamshala and for me after having amazing start of this season now they are heading for the worst end of this season with no chance for the spot into last four even they have one of the best batting in this season.
I am shocked with the fact that even after a few teams have played 13 matches and most have played 12. We still don't have even a single team who is 100% qualified to the playoffs and also with 8 teams who are still in the race to the playoffs with some or the other permutation combination in picture. I think this shows the level of IPL against other leagues where a few matches are always one sided, here the result can never be predicted because all teams have equal caliber it's just that which team performed better that day. RR which chased the total against KKR in 15 overs in previous match skittled for 58 in this one and that also against RCB which has lost many matches even after scoring 200+ in first innings.
We can make some wild predictions, but things can change as the end match performances weren't good as expected. Few teams have played 13 matches, even after that we weren't able to identify the playoff qualifiers. In simple Gujarat Titans qualified, CSK in a tough situation as it wants a must win in the last match. With the two matches left Mumbai Indians might win both the matches and reach the first position on points table. Fourth place is much in favour of RCB than LSG.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: May 13, 2023, 11:02:28 PM
The group stage games are at the end but so far it is difficult to say which four teams will eventually qualify for the IPL.  Today Punjab Kings won against Delhi Capitals.
By winning against Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings' points 12 and Rajasthan Royals' points 5th in the points table, LSG's points 13, which means that any of these three teams may qualify for the playoffs. Except for RCB and SRH, all the teams have played 12 matches each, which means that all the teams who have played 12 matches each have two more matches left.

Since RCB has played only 11 matches so far, RCB has a great chance to qualify for the playoffs. It is not possible to say in advance who will qualify for the playoffs until the matches of all the teams are over.

i just checked out Ranking table and i think all four teams already qualified and there is no spot for RCB because despite winning next match RCB will get 12 points while LSG now standing at no 4 with 13 points. Gujrat played well in this session and now on the top in ranking table with sixteen points in 12 matches, chennai on no 2 with 15 points while MI are on 3 with 14 points. MI won last t consecutive matches otherwise they would be no six or seven. This is best chance for MI now to reach final if they win next match.

I think it's the most interesting Playoffs chase in the history of IPL even after 12 matches of each team, there still isn't a single team which is 100% into the play offs and until the 12th Match of alot of them there wasn't a team which was completely out as well. Tomorrow RR vs RCB will mostly disqualify another team from the picture and then CSK vs KKR, CSK if wins might be the first team to enter playoffs and KKR is already out anyways. I think on Monday will get clarity regarding couple of spots atleast. As of now it looks GT and CSK confirm and other 2 doubtful are MI & probably LSG seeing form of both these teams.
Lets see whats going to be the result of the match. No season of IPL have got such close points between positions. Last season it was Mumbai Indians and CSK who were at the bottom. Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers were the playoff qualifiers. Team winning 8 matches have qualified for the playoff. If I'm not wrong runrate will decide the playoff qualifiers.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: May 12, 2023, 07:16:20 PM
Don't misunderstand me, I would also like to see a World Cup hosted in China during this decade or the next one and I would also like it to be a good experience for everyone. However, as far as I am concerned the gutter oil phenomenon seems to be an underground industry in mainland China, rather than isolated incidents. Who knows, perhaps I have seen biased documentary videos on the issue, if you ever feel like sharing some sources or videos which address the problem and indeed picture it as isolated events, feel free to send them to me through PM.

Being an Indian, I would repeat that crimes done by a handful of individuals should not be used to generalize 1.4 billion people. I have a few Chinese friends and they are some of the nicest people whom I have ever met. If Qatar can host the world cup, then why not China? No one is perfect. If China has this gutter oil scandal, then Qatar had the migrant deaths scandal. India and China together account for 2.8 billion people (more than 1/3rd of the global population) and these countries have never hosted FIFA world cup. On the other hand, a country like Qatar (which has 300,000 citizens) hosted the event last time. Very unfair, I need to say.
Everywhere we can experience some sort of issues that needs to be addressed. In recent years big complaints were made upon China, and nothing were proven. Same as that scandals were common all around, which can't be proved easily. Country that have hosted the 2008 and 2022 Olympics have got all necessary sources to host FIFA. Some might stay against them, which will be pure politics.

I don't see any chance for Gujarat to win. They are definitely going to lose this match. Now their only aim is to reduce the run gap. Still I think Gujarat will lose by at least 50-70 runs today. Gujarat managed to collect only 82 runs in 10 overs losing 5 wickets. Dawid Miller and Rahul Tripathi and batting. Both are quite experienced batsmen. If the bowlers of Mumbai take the wickets of these two batsmen, there is a big margin of victory for the Mumbai Indians team. If they win today's match, Mumbai will be able to move to third place in the table.

To tell the truth, it is not a matter of life and death for Gujarat. They have 16 points from 12 matches and still two matches remain in group stage. Chennai at second place has 15 points from 12 matches. So even after losing today's match, Gujarat is topping the points table. At this point, it is almost certain that both GT and CSK will qualify for the next round. However, it is not clear who will be the other two teams that will gain playoff spots. Mumbai has 14 points now, from 12 matches. They are 3rd in points table and they should qualify if they manage to win at least one out of the next two matches.
This obviously was a do or die for MI and they played really well as per that. SKY coming back in form is the best news for MI. I think now it's the biggest task for any team to take his wicket otherwise he has the ability to make MI invincible. They can make 220 in any match and chase equally big targets. Not to mention, they haven't even been using big hitters like Tim David and Chris Green properly. I think with SkY in form MI is a big contender for the trophy.
A big comeback moment for Mumbai Indians team. None could've thought of it to happen. It was Suryakumar Yadav who came back to form and Mumbai Indians started its winning count. In the last five matches Suryakumar Yadav have scored 55(29), 66(31), 26(22), 83(35), 103*(49). Other than the match against CSK, he had maintained the 200+ strike rate and 200+ runs were so easy reached while chasing as well as while batting first. Now every top team on the table will be in discussion how to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav in the important matches. Cheesy

Gujarat looks like they are going to lose by a huge margin which could help MI improve their NRR like crazy pushing them closer to the playoffs stage. GT being inconsistent as usual in this season.
Eventually MI has won the match by 27 runs only. Rashid Khan has played a great innings today which was completely unexpected. I was thinking that GT will lose the match by at least 80 runs. But Rashid Khan has changed the equation with his powerful performance. MI still have the negative NRR as they couldn't manage a big victory.

Gujarat were defeated by just 27 runs. The way they started the innings I thought they would lose by a huge margin of 50-60. But with Rashid Khan's brilliant batting, the Gujarat team managed to collect 191 runs. Rashid Khan scored 79 runs off just 32 balls. And the interesting part is that he hit 10 over boundaries. Rashid Khan's batting I have never seen before. He also managed to pick up 4 important wickets. The way Gujarat has been performing this season, it looks like the team will be able to win the title. Almost every player in the team is capable of playing well.
Often Rashid Khan used to make some exceptional performance. One such happened today. In the 32 balls faced by him, he had scored 10 sixes, 3 fours. This means 72 runs have come out of it, just 7 runs have come from singles. With his batting and bowling, Gujarat Titans have lost the match by a small margin. Even at this situation it looks like the team is very strong to defeat any team.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 12, 2023, 06:53:33 PM
LOL.. the Irish bowlers are really struggling. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy are scoring at close to 8 runs per over, and the 4th wicket partnership is now worth some 101 runs. Ireland may lose this match if they can't take a wicket in the next 5 overs. The pitch is offering hardly any support for the bowlers and the Bangladeshi batsmen are making optimal use out of it. And the Irish skipper (Andy Balbirnie) is looking clueless. So far he has tried a total of 6 bowlers, and none of them looked as if they are threatening the Bangladeshi batsmen. Time to bring Adair back?

We know that Ireland's bowlers are not experienced enough. But it will be very shameful and disappointing for Ireland if they are defeated after giving a huge target of 320 in 45 overs. Bangladesh needs 88 runs in 11 overs. Bangladesh team must collect 8 runs in each over. Ireland's bowlers managed to break Shanto and Hridoy's partnership. Now if they are able to take Shanto's wicket as well then Ireland's bowlers can take control of the match. But if Mushfiq and Shanto are able to survive at the crease then Bangladesh will win this match. It will not be difficult for experienced batsmen like Mushfiq and Shanto to score 8 runs per over on such a batting-friendly pitch.
In 45 overs they have managed to score 319 runs. This will be really shameful for Ireland. For now they've taken four wickets. Shanto is at 110*(90) and his wicket is more important at the moment to make it a winning match. Ireland have got good batting line-up, till the last player runs came good. Bangladesh is surely under pressure, because the country people are much into cricket and losing against small teams used to make big critics against the team.

As usual Surya Kumar Yadav rocked the match with his performance. With his massive 103*(49) runs Mumbai Indians have set a target of 218 runs. Today Rohit Sharma scored 29 runs which is his best in the ongoing IPL season. Hope this will be a winning match for Mumbai Indians. As usual Rashid Khan became the best bowling figure with an economy of 7.5rpo (30/4).

From the discussion pattern and the way OP's friend have decided to invest in bitcoin, it looks like OP's friend have heard about bitcoin earlier through someone else or through some source. When OP too spoke about it, the friend might've built confidence on investing into bitcoin. Nothing seems to be the fault of OP, it is our responsibility to spread the word. OP have done it and he hadn't compelled his friend to invest into bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Women's Cricket Prediction & Discussion - T20 & ODI on: May 11, 2023, 05:46:54 PM
Rain interruption resulted in the ODI series getting washed away between Bangladesh women and Sri Lankan women (only one match was completed, and that was won by SLW). T20I series is currently tied at 1-1, as Sri Lanka scored a big win today. These two teams are not among the top sides in women's cricket. So a series win for either side would act as a big morale booster. I just hope that tomorrow's match will get completed without any washouts. That said, these teams need to play more often. They hardly take part in 2-3 series every year.
In the first T20 Bangladesh Women team won the match at the last over. Today Sri Lanka Women team have won the match in a much comfortable manner as the target score is just 100 runs. As said the winning out of the series isn't gonna make any big changes on the points table.

In the Southeast Asian Games Philippines Women and Myanmar Women played. Philippines Women team scored 47 runs and Myanmar Women team won it scoring 48 runs in  the 8th over.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: May 11, 2023, 05:14:17 PM
What a batting from the young 21 years Yashasvi Jaiswal. Made the fastest 50 runs in the history of IPL. In the very first overs scored 26 runs. Continued the scoring momentum and reached 50 runs in 13 balls. I thought he'll reach 100 runs, and this time it missed as the target is reached with the four runs. With the thrashing win Rajasthan Royals have moved to the 3rd position with good net runrate.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: May 10, 2023, 11:59:44 PM
In the past gambling platforms used to start from the scratch with small investment. This means they've very limited number of games and from there slowly add more games and keep on reinvesting what they've made out of the business. Now things were different as the competence is quite high. This had made casino business owners to be millionaires, only then they were able to stand against the leading platforms. The gambling industry have grown big over time, and the online gambling have given access for all levels of people to experience gambling.
818  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving effects, how long they will last? on: May 10, 2023, 11:59:09 PM
-

However, slowly the halving effect may decrease because repeats will be easy for the market to take advantage of and big institutions or whale will take other steps that will be more profitable for them than retail.

I also believe the halving effect or the time it takes for bitcoin to reach a new ATH will be altered as things are getting too predictable, but we won't know when that will change. We can't do anything but believe in history until everything changes.

Cryptocurrency is still a market manipulated more than it is based on supply and demand, so things will be mixed up, and resetting the game will only be a matter of time. We should have more than one plan to prepare for the unexpected, rather than just having one plan and believing too much in the halving.
Having multiple plans is always a must with any form of investment, particularly with cryptocurrency it could bring the best. We can expect the market to be bullish around the days of halving, but it isn't assured. This can happen prior to the days or after the days of halving.

Market manipulation is part of the market, however this is done big with crypto market compared to the traditional market. With investment it is always good to plan for the worst, which assure with maintaining the portfolio in all worse situation of the market.
819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing doesn't guarantee you to be rich on: May 10, 2023, 11:51:23 PM
No investment has assured returns which supports the idea that not all investment would make you rich in an instant. Also, successful investments mostly, suffered from failures for sure no matter how an investor is prepared of it. Some of them had thoughts of giving up. It already takes courage to start an investment so what more of continuing such thing. Risk will always be present and there are variables an investor won't have control of, which could contribute to an investment's downfall. In fact, most of the investors are atleast hoping for a breakeven between asset and expenses simply because negative outcome often occurs. It is okay to have desires or big dream out of something you have started but always manage the risk and expectations 'coz not all things would come as expected.
that is why in investing you must have a strong mentality in making risky decisions because not all in investing has an assurance to make you rich well there are some but we have different fate maybe someday it will happen to you and some of us might have breakdowns too as what you have said things will not come to our way and don't need to expect that much.
These days each and every way of money making have turned to be more risky. We should have the ability to take risk, only then we'll be able to enjoy the goodness of our investment. Investing doesn't gives the assurance, but it increases the chance of giving you better profit based on what you've invested. According to me, investment needs to be left to grow. We shouldn't keep on looking our portfolio. We need to watch the market, if it looks profitable just book the profit and look for the opportunity to buy back at the least price.
820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 09, 2023, 08:47:44 PM
That's true, cricket rules are completely different and ICC doesn't care about it. ICC play its role only when the four powers of cricket experience some problem. According to me, playing with foreign players is not an issue. Let the funding be provided equally to every team than the performance based system. Even in football it is possible to see the players descent from two different countries and the kid playing for another nation. This doesn't come under foreign playing just because the player is born in that country.
In football if a player is allowed to represent two different countries, that is because he holds the citizenship of both these nations. Diego Costa is an example. He was born in Brazil and represented that country, before switching to Spain in 2014. A more recent example is that of Rogelio Funes Mori, who switched from Argentina to Mexico. Anyway, no one complains when 1-2 players are included from other nations. But the problem is when all the 11 players are foreigners, and none of the natives are included in the playing XI (this is the case with 80% of the associate teams).

Well at least in football they have the citizenship to play for that respective country. But in cricket that is not the case. In cricket, anyone can play for any country. That is wondering which ICC have to make a change on.

We certainly wouldn't have made any comments if only 1 or two or even 3 players were actually from another country presenting the national team. But the problem has come when 10/11 players are from another country. ICC also knows very well that those associate teams which are actually made out of foreign players actually do not have any intention of getting better in cricket. They are just here to find some profit.
I don't think the focus on having a national team atleast with the foreign players is to show the team's presence. It doesn't look like they're behind the money that is being funded for the respective cricket board. There is no native players interested in cricket, maybe for that reason the sports authority of the respective country might've made plans of having foreign players added to the team. ICC knew everything and this continues till some problem arises between the native and foreign players.
