801  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 1$ per day crypto investment plan any good ? on: June 07, 2023, 01:14:41 AM
Investing $1 per day is a good investment plan under DCA which can ensure that you cut lost over time, it is also very important that if the opportunity to invest more than that occurs within a day when the market go bearish it's not a bad idea to invest higher, but using DCA has been one of the best means to posses or buy bitcoin over time as long as you have the intention to hold the coins for a while before selling.
Now that I have a stable job, that's what I actually do although I am not putting money daily, more like I split my salary and have around 25% of it put into crypto or 50% if I see that the market is bearish, it may sound big to you but I don't have any big responsibilities yet so I can afford to do this.
802  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Atomic Wallet hacker sends crypto to mixer used by Lazarus Group: Elliptic on: June 06, 2023, 08:58:11 AM
Seems to me that it's going to be a bad day for Sinbad.io and the people that's promoting them with campaign signatures.
Bad as in how?
Didn't you read the article? It clearly said that Sinbad was involved in the laundering of millions of dollars for the hacker group. I don't see how it can be good for Sinbad.io this news is but you clearly know what you're talking about.
Quote
I'm having mixed feelings with mixers now, I think that it's a freedom to be able to use it but then group's like the Lazarus group using it makes me want to change sides.
Then you should have mixed feelings about the dollar, the banks and all those Government back financial institutions because they have been used to launder money for decades by bad actors and in some cases the Governments just look the other side because it's "big" people within them that are involved

How are both situations any different?
Why would I have a mixed feelings with the dollar? It's not the currency that I use although I know how influential it is to my local currency. The way I see it, they're difference is that there's a way to trace the dollar if it's laundered compared to a mixer. Don't act big just because I have mixed feelings about mixers by mentioning something unrelated to the topic.
803  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Atomic Wallet hacker sends crypto to mixer used by Lazarus Group: Elliptic on: June 06, 2023, 07:23:27 AM
Seems to me that it's going to be a bad day for Sinbad.io and the people that's promoting them with campaign signatures. But I guess, if it hits a rogue nation's hacker group that provides funds for the rogue state, the sacrifice is hopefully worth it. I'm having mixed feelings with mixers now, I think that it's a freedom to be able to use it but then group's like the Lazarus group using it makes me want to change sides.
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Force Your Children to Learn Bitcoin on: June 06, 2023, 05:17:01 AM
Every thing has a certain age limit. It would not be good at all for children to like Bitcoin and should not be forced to invest. A child can never have real knowledge about Bitcoin. There are very few people in today's world who do not know about Bitcoin.  So in future even children will know about Bitcoin when they grow up. We can now give them a basic idea of Bitcoin but never force them to acquire it. I think it would be really dangerous for children.
The age doesn't matter, the child should be able to choose what he/she wants to learn, remember that they're individuals that will grow and will have an increased capacity in thinking as they grow older, a lot of people in this forum that's professing that we should teach our kids about bitcoin and investment without considering how the children will feel about the subject matter, I am not a parent yet but I think that we should never think of our children as our clones, why force them on something just because they show a bit of interest and we know that that interest will be gone the next moment, we focus too much on making bitcoin a staple in creating a family that we forgot the essential which is spending time with your children doing meaningful things.

809  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 7 tips to know about crypto trading on: June 03, 2023, 01:00:48 AM

Worst of all is that I've never even heard of people advertising copytrading, therefore solidifying my theory that it just doesn't work as advertised. But I digress.
That's a hasty generalization though, just because you haven't heard of people that are talking about copytrading doesn't mean that they're a bad thing, maybe in your experience it's what as you say but personal experience most of the time is biased if not insufficient in terms of data.
810  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 7 tips to know about crypto trading on: June 02, 2023, 08:43:45 AM
It's like riding a bike, it's true that you will fall and get scratched, but 3 minutes of riding a bike equals hundreds of hours of trying to read books to learn to ride.
That's a nice advice, experience almost always trumps theory, not most of the time though (i.e. theoretical physics), but I do agree with the analogy. Only difference is that trading is much more painful than riding a bike when it comes to mistakes, some people will experience loss in trading and that's it for them, they won't try again.

This advices you've got OP, are pretty basic in my opinion, most of them are common sense in trading in my opinion. I don't truly believe in the advice about giving your crypto to other people to trade them for you, copytrading is a profitable way to make money when trading without trading yourself. Also, it's a stockbrokers job to trade for you so it's not that solid of an advice.

812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dad's retirement money is invested in Bitcoin! on: June 02, 2023, 04:55:40 AM

If it's a one month pension then that could be fine for his father but it's still best to ask him whether he's fine with it.
You think it's fine but I will stand by my opinion that OP should ask first, you said it already, it's OP's father's money so I don't think OP has any right to spend it without permissions.
~
There are financial advisors that's not aware of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and that's why if OP is the one to explain investing in Bitcoin to his pops, that's much better.
Those financial advisors that aren't aware of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are bad financial advisors, I don't think they're a profession that lives under a rock most of the time.

Quote
Because these financial advisors are most of the time salesman and they might suggest the investment products they're selling to him.
if you do consider consulting a financial advisor, make sure that they're fiduciary or something along the line where you can trust them to put your best interest.
813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be fool to keep it online, look my name on: June 01, 2023, 06:19:31 AM
For example, Coinbase was founded in 2012 and is still doing well to this day, so not every exchange is going down.
Maybe not yet, they waiting us off guard.
That's such a paranoid outlook although I can share the sentiment, I won't worry too much about my bitcoin lest it's in the whole number or 0.1 territory about the security, probably don't use obscure exchanges and online wallets to store your coins.
814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dad's retirement money is invested in Bitcoin! on: June 01, 2023, 02:02:34 AM
Ask your father about your plan because this is a really delicate situation and you're definitely going to be risking your father's pension in a really volatile investment, try to find other a venues of investment before going with bitcoin. Or better yet ask a financial advisor about what to do with this, asking an advice about a life changing financial decision in a forum isn't really the best course of action.
815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gas station payment with bitcoin. on: May 31, 2023, 07:02:17 AM
When I make this thread many people was saying its a lie that I should upload the pictures of my gas station to believe that what I said was true, I know that this thread has gone to pages and I believe that now maintenance has finished I will create another thread and upload the pictures for people who thought I was telling them false information to believe and I the thread I will list people who did not believe what I did was real.
You don't have to create another thread, just edit your original post and add the images there. You don't have to great lengths just to prove something. Commendable that you want to prove it and not just argue online.
816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think China is playing a double game? on: May 31, 2023, 04:56:29 AM
China's crypto dance is like a never-ending tango - one step forward, two steps back, and then a sudden twirl. Are they really regulating or just enjoying the dance? Either way, it keeps us all wondering what's next.
It's easy to understand to be honest, I like the analogy. CCP wants what's best for the party, and if the favor and benefits that bitcoin offers is swaying, then the party is going to swaying wherever they get the most benefit. Doesn't China always do this with other stuff too, I just can't think of one thing that is similar to this but I am sure of it.
817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At How Much Price You First Saw The Bitcoin? on: May 30, 2023, 06:15:47 AM
The golden era of Bitcoin in 2016, when it was just $586. It's a reminder that HODLing can make all the difference. Here's to holding tight and riding the Bitcoin rollercoaster!
You are too shy to say it, we all know the golden era was when you can buy thousands without burning a hole in your wallet. I think the time when you can afford that much bitcoin is going to be considered a golden era of bitcoin. The first price I saw of bitcoin was around 129$, now at that time I was still just a kid but I was curious about it although I didn't pursue it too much to the point that I will buy bitcoin, I was just fascinated.
818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DeSantis promises to protect bitcoin in presidential campaign launch event on: May 30, 2023, 03:24:09 AM
@Poker Player. Similar to the skepticism of the people who replied in the thread, I reckon that they are also correct in thinking that his motivation might be more about what he can get instead of what he can give. This characteristic is very common among politicians because they play a game of survivability. This is also why there is no such thing as a honest, idealistic politician because they will be defeated by the crafty, practical politicians.

However, I might be wrong. Let us wish that he is honest in his support for individual freedom, rights and also support bitcoin to be one of the instruments for this, very much similar to Nayib Bukele's support.
No way a politician has ever thought of what they can give back to the people, if it was the case, there's no homelessness out there or the poverty has been sold a long time ago. Even if DeSantis does support sincerely, I don't think that there's enough crypto people out there to support him against Biden and Trump who have a far more established platform and supporters.
819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I Have Shared About The Benefits Of Bitcoin With My Friends on: May 30, 2023, 01:38:49 AM
I like the idea that you've briefed your friends about the benefits but I think that you probably should tell them the negatives, remember that when some of them get in, they're bound to make mistakes and if that mistak is so severe, you're probably on they're mind when they want to blame someone for their misfortune so for your sake, tell them both sides OP, helps them too to make an informed decision about their next step.
820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating unemployed friends about Bitcoin on: May 29, 2023, 05:25:57 AM
I know you have good intentions when you want to help them, but in that way, you are harming them rather than helping them. Bitcoin is just an investment, and it can make a profit or make us lose, so Bitcoin cannot help them escape unemployment and help them get rich without doing anything. Second, investing in savings is the right thing, but if they are unemployed, there is no income, which means saving is something they cannot lose. Therefore, they should not invest in Bitcoin.
I aghree that OP isn't helping them by introducing them to bitcoin but the points you pointed out seem nonsensical, bitcoin isn't just an investment, it's also a currency that you can use to buy goods and services, it's unpopular as a currency because Laszlo made a monumental milestone in bitcoin history but I digress, your second point seem right but I don't think it's not a good enough reason to discourage someone to invest in bitcoin, they can probably just invest a small part of their savings to jumpstart their journey.
