821  Economy / Economics / Re: Without government job we can survive on: October 08, 2023, 02:17:28 AM
In as much as we expect that the government should provide employment opportunities for us, with or without their employment, we will still survive.

In the first place, how much can the government-established jobs give you?

Most of the employed salary earners don't even earn as much as an average business or entrepreneurial person earns.

If you want to make it well as a young person growing up, one of the first things you need to remove from you is the mentality that you need to be employed by the government before you start working or earning money.
You're right. While it's true that the government has a responsibility to us, we shouldn't be depending on it especially when it comes to jobs. Besides, we cannot just focus on the responsibility of the government and turn a blind eye on our own responsibilities.
822  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 08, 2023, 01:31:42 AM
One of the difficulties of managing finances with a low (small) salary requires extra commitment and patience, always thinking positively and focusing on the goals you have planned. There are times when we need to manage our expenses. Note down all the smallest things in our expenses And get used to the daily needs of the family. Build a habit of living frugally in any case. the solution in my opinion is to improve your skills and look for additional income,
I completely agree with you. The ultimate answer to the problem is to find additional sources of income while ensuring that we are spending our money smartly. You see the problem with people who think that once they get an additional source of income everything will start playing out well for them is that they also start spending money more as they feel like they have more money now, what they fail to see is that additional income doesn't mean more money to spend but money to save.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: October 07, 2023, 09:50:57 PM
The real news is that Piastri guy winning a race,a Sprint race but nevertheless a race and he is on his debut season,he has shown signs of great driving but today with that driving he showed that he really deserves the title at McLaren and most likely they at McLaren are preparing for a very good race tomorrow.

The guy has a lot of potential if he keeps on driving like this. I've been eyeing at him for a few weeks now and he's really good at a lot of technical aspects of the track that they're racing on. It's not every time that a driver on his debut gets to be better than the rest of the flock who has been driving in F1 for years. Mad respect to this guy, and hopefully he continues this good performance under McLaren in order to contend for future championships.
824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They know the truth but they don't want to accept it, publicly on: October 07, 2023, 09:32:12 PM
If you are freely spending a lot in your hobby in exchange for a good time or something that satiates your hunger, then the same can be said for gambling. A lot of people are freely giving money to streamers in exchange for a good time, why can't something apply to gambling? The key difference is that in gambling, you have the chance to get back a lot more money than what you originally put in, whereas in other hobbies, you are kind of throwing it away fully because there isn't a chance that you can get it back, aside from those hobbies that collect something which can be sold later down the line.
826  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Mga Artista Na Scam Ng Crypto Investment on: October 07, 2023, 08:44:14 PM

827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Governments Ban Cryptocurrency {Bitcoin} on: October 07, 2023, 08:16:27 PM
There are already a few threads that discussed this topic, I'll leave some here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5468635.0

Anyway, although in the country I live in Bitcoin isn't much given attention to by government, meaning there are no laws that cater to it, it is common knowledge and belief that the reason as to why governments ban crypto or bitcoin is due to how they are not able to control it. It is as simple as that. Something outside of their control is seen as a bad thing for them.
828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: October 07, 2023, 07:57:57 PM
First of all, it's good that you have a goal, may do not, and are just following the wave of life. Secondly, although Bitcoin may be helping you in terms of the money needed for your dream house to turn into a reality, having other sources of income will be the best way to help. Having various ways of earning money like a small business or getting a job (parttime or not) will help in allowing you to reach the goal sooner than just relying on Bitcoin that will surely take years (given that you don't have that much)
829  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 07, 2023, 07:39:24 PM
This is a pretty outdated claim and belief. The main root of this claim is gender roles wherein men are expected to provide while women stays at home and pay the bills with the money the men give. However, with such changes following the steady removal of gender roles and gender stereotypes both in society and in work place, women and men are finally free from the barriers of roles they were expected to play in, meaning men and women can be providers and nurturers at home. Hence, going back to the topic, it doesn't matter what an individual's gender is it all comes down to personal insights, actions, and decisions.
830  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Education in Financial Literacy on: October 07, 2023, 07:16:24 PM
Financial literacy? Well, how about common sense? Degree owners in my country still fall victim to loan sharks and Ponzi schemes, why isn't their financial literacy sounding a red flag bell in their ears? That's why some old illiterates are way smarter than today's educated people, because it's not always about education, and most times it's just common sense.

I am not in support that education isn't playing a major role here but the majority of educated people are the ones who are blindly doing shits in my country, some things that uneducated people should be a victim of, it's a big shame.

There is a vital point why some world billionaires ditched education and degrees, and it's not that hard to understand why, so many things that don't make sense in school, shits that you aren't going to use in the real world, and also practical is way better than theory.
Why choose one when you can have both? While this may be the case for you, I'm sure there are others who have witnessed the complete opposite wherein uneducated people are the ones who are the main target of scams and other financial crimes. While you have a point regarding practically dominating theory, we cannot take away the fact that educated people also have an advantage uneducated people don't possess. So, instead of choosing one, why not both? Practice the theory.
831  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we truly need cbdc when bitcoin already exist? on: October 07, 2023, 03:20:04 PM
that is true, we actually don't need CBDCs. however, for the sake of adoption from the government sector, they need to push thru this route.
well, it won't harm the crypto market as they have different purpose to serve. and also, i highly believe that it can pave the way of more crypto adoption as these users will uncover the true benefits of dealing with other cryptocurrencies when compared to the government-controlled CBDC.
Right now the adoption of CBDCs is voluntary, however you can be sure that if a crisis comes that puts fiat currencies at risk then it will become mandatory to use CBDCs, and that is when things can get really bad, as the amount of control governments will have over the whole economy and each individual will be simply too much, but ironically this could lead people to finally appreciate the characteristics of bitcoin as a currency.

Once CBDC is released and the government forces us to use it, things will be much worse than they are now. Our privacy will be seriously violated and we will no longer have privacy if CBDC completely replaces fiat currency. Furthermore, we will not have the choice of CBDC or cash, the government will definitely issue it whether we want it or not. But maybe you're right, when CBDC makes people feel like they've lost all freedom, it will most likely boost the popularity of bitcoin and I hope the government won't ban bitcoin because of that.
Although you have a point, I doubt they'll replace fiat currency fot CBDC, at least not in the near future. Replacing fiat currency will take a lot of time and changes, not only for the people but the law as well. Hence, I don't think the government will be able to force us to use CBDC for now or in the next few years.
832  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you are becoming a billionaire in 2025,buying a large ship should not be goal on: October 07, 2023, 01:04:08 PM
I don’t think today’s generation is that much understanding. They want money to be thrown away for big parties and booz and even after that their bank balances are not getting moved an inch. This makes it act of non humanly but who cares these days.

Rather than them middle class person would know the pain of hunger and they will go and donate the money. Though OP you have good thoughts I hardly think billionaire cares if it’s out of their good thinking league.
I don't know where this mindset of villainizing rich people came from but it should really stop. Just because they have the means to provide for those inneed doesn't mean they are required to. At the end of the day it's their money and we don't have a say as to how and where they'll spend it on. Moreover, who's to say that they're not helping out in their own way? Do they have to broadcast their every move? Does their act of helping and donating money be more in numbers and volumes just because they have more money than middle class people?

Just because someone's a billionaire doesn't mean they're a bad person, society just gave them this "responsibility" to provide for the less fortunate ones even though we really shouldn't have a say regarding this.
833  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement [Pros and Cons] on: October 07, 2023, 12:36:28 PM
Early retirement does give people the ever wanted freedom to enjoy their time, dive into hobbies, or even travel extensively or do anything that they always wanted to do. Plus, without the daily boring sleep - work - eat - sleep routine, many find they're healthier and less stressed. One gets to start a "new" life after their retirement. Now imagine all these early in your life. Who wouldn't want that? And I don't think there are any cons in early retirement. You might hear about early retirees getting bored, but with passions or hobbies to focus on, that's hardly an issue. I do agree that staying mentally and physically active is crucial, but if well-planned, early retirement can be more of a fresh start than an end.
Good point here. Perhaps if early retirement was already planned out since the beginning and an individual was already able to save up and have other sources of income to rely on to ensure they have the means to survive and carry out a good financial lifestyle then that'll be really ideal. However, unfortunately, not everyone can enjoy such things as for them early retirement means losing their main source of income.
834  Economy / Gambling / Re: make some developments related gambling on: October 06, 2023, 11:54:26 PM
i would give some suggestion to make developments related  gambling up to that time

Online Gambling Online gambling continued to grow in popularity, with a wide range of casino games, sports betting, poker, and other forms of gambling available on the internet. .

Also Mobile gambling apps and websites became increasingly prevalent, allowing users to place bets and play casino games on their smartphones and tablets. The convenience of mobile gambling contributed to its expansion
countries make some positive work in this process to regulating online gambling to ensure consumer protection and generate tax revenue

To be honest, the gambling industry will not develop well if it is not started with online gambling apps. And it only became very trending or well known during the pandemic because all the land-based casinos were closed, so they thought of a different marketing strategy so that the casino owners didn't end up falling into bankruptcy.

And they succeeded in the matter, but even increased the average of its popularity and community in the gambling industry using the social media platform. And so many influencers today on social media platforms are promoting various online casino apps. That is what is really happening in reality at this age.

It's the comfort and accessibility that won over a lot of patrons to online gambling platforms. If not for these two, I'm pretty sure people will just look for other hobbies during the pandemic and not try to make a living off of gambling. Plus, the advertisements and marketing strategies of these casinos are also widespread. It reached a lot of audience, and a lot of those may probably already be curious about gambling but are too shy to ask and start with this activity.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: October 06, 2023, 11:33:08 PM
George Russell really stepping up on Qatar. That's still almost half a second difference but he can sure as hell come close to Max if he wanted to. Hamilton also comes in with a very good 3rd place in qualifying leaving the two Mercedes at the top of the food chain together with Max. If this continues until race day, both of these Mercedes drivers will have a chance to steal the win from Verstappen, although that's highly unlikely given how smooth the Red Bull's driver has been.
836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which games offer the best chance of a big win? on: October 06, 2023, 11:03:38 PM
Judging by the statistics of the survey forum members believe that all the same slots are more profitable compared to other gambling games. I wonder why OP did not add a lottery option to the poll?

Perhaps because lotteries are huge money sinks that will suck you dry off of your money without guarantees that you'll win something. Sure, you win big on lotteries, but how often do you win anyway and what are the chances of a win at all? At least in casino games, card games, and sports betting, you have some good chance in beating the gambling platform and not get screwed by statistics and probability big time.
837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 06, 2023, 10:49:26 PM
Do you know when CS:GO will be left finally and they will pass to CS 2 in official tournaments as well?

Because some time ago they said that it was the last tournament in CS:GO however there must be a few more tournaments which have been organized since then. I assume they are waiting for CS 2 to be fixed more for some more time. I saw even s1mple saying that this game wasn't playable yet so there is still a need to make it much better.

I have been seeing big updates regularly whenever I launch Steam. I hope the game would be ready for tournaments as well soon.  Smiley

That's actually their plan. They are to abandon CS:GO to move forward with CS2. There's not many tournaments left for CS:GO while it's still being the official game for CS and major tournaments, although we can't say that CS2 is polished enough to be a platform for huge tournaments specially if there are still some bugs here and there that could potentially destroy a team's strategy.

And now that this is mentioned, the movement still feels off whenever you try to walk or run in CS2. It's as if your character is using rollerblades or something because everything feels so slippery.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery with a twist on: October 06, 2023, 10:14:08 PM
Why would the prizes be at random rather than split into the number of winners? Wouldn't that be 'unfair' even if the system you have installed revolves around fairness? The first parts of your idea is okay, and it's as simple as can be. It rings more of a raffle than a lottery to me. Anyway, as for the prize, I don't think there'd be a lot of people willing to play the game if they find out that their bet could return 1x in an event of a win. That means they just wasted their time and would be frustrated even if it's a win.

840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 06, 2023, 07:09:24 PM
If you’re concerned of someone, you won’t allow them to engage into something which they are unfamiliar with, or to simply expose them to risk. Giving them warnings should not stop them to continue in any crypto activity if they are really eager to do so. Instead of being easily  discouraged, they should be more curious and open with a particular downside. It would be worse filling them with positivity given that there’s really no such thing in the first place. These negative comments or acts of discouragement would make them more aware of what they are into than for them to just continue because of the hype and popularity of this industry. Also in these instances, more people are being negative towards this technology which is what we’re more concerned with to prevent.
You're absolutely right. The feedback and warnings of the members here should not be taken as a bad thing as they are not negative. Instead, they are more of caution or advice from people who are more knowledgeable and have the experience that newbies don't. Members are giving warnings and precautions so the newbies can be more aware and not make the same possible mistakes experienced members did. Instead of seeing it as a discouragement, I see it as a warning and act to make newbies aware of how the system actually works.
