841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: May 29, 2015, 09:35:29 PM
Why has no one mentioned the fact that he paid to get various people killed? Surely this was the primary reason for the lengthy sentence?

Not even the BBC news page of this story ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-32941060 ) mentions this. I don't understand it at all.

He was convicted of paying for 6 murders. There was no proof of any of these murders.

Quote
The judge also said there was "no doubt" that Ulbricht had paid for murders. Prosecutors have alleged he commissioned six murders-for-hire while operating Silk Road, though there is no evidence that these murders were carried out.
842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: May 29, 2015, 09:23:23 PM
Ross William Ulbricht, legendary creator of the original darknet market The Silk Road, has been sentenced today in federal prison to Life in Prison.

Can he appeal to the higher court ?

There will definitely be appeals.

The sentence is so harsh, because they want to make an example out of him. Only the government can sell drugs and murder people that cause problems.

Wrong section and Venmo is a great way to get payment reversed.

Avoid at all costs

I vote Kluge! He's the wittiest member by far  Grin

Xetsr I would trust since he's traded with such sheer volume of BTC.

SaltySpitoon as well since he's always been composed and even-tempered even in his position of power.

Actually surprised that neither of these three are on DT.
All three of them are in the default trust network? Salty is on level 1 and the other two are on level 2

I figured they weren't, since they were on this list. I try not to keep up with DT drama.  Cheesy

Nothing like DefaultTrust to turn a Bitcoin community into squabbling, teenage schoolgirls.

848  Economy / Gambling / Re: NBA Eastern Conference on: May 27, 2015, 11:43:54 PM
Hawks completely rolled over after that third game.

Cavs and GSW should be interesting. Teams with no finals experience except Lebron
849  Other / Meta / Re: Changing our passwords on: May 27, 2015, 05:00:18 PM
I was really taking my time to change my password to be honest , because my email password and my Bitcointalk password are totally different .
Now I changed my password and I didn't have to receive anything on my email  Huh So Basically the hacker should simply connect to your account and change the password and then you are screwed  ?? It wouldn't make a lot of sense to be honest . Shouldn't we add some sort of protection like sending a verification link to our emails then when we check them we can change our passwords ? Shocked

EDIT : Also how much characters do you advice me to use so I will be safe

Massive exploit that's already been taken advantage of by members.

Still looks like there is some work to be done on the site..

Having Pacquiao backing is interesting though

852  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fox News is ‘self-brainwashing’ Republicans into a radical fringe party on: May 25, 2015, 09:30:06 PM
That has been the case for awhile and not anything new.

Pretty sure the emergence of the Tea Party was because of Fox News antics.
853  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mossad and CIA about to overthrow the elected government of Macedonia on: May 25, 2015, 09:28:57 PM
I know many people will claim that we're not in World War 3 right now, but doesn't it seem like there's this huge indirect proxy war between Russia, the EU and America? We may as well already be in World War 3 but the only difference is that nobody as of yet has been using outright conventional warfare, it's all just been espionage and financial.

They're trying to avoid the appearance of starting a war because it would be so unpopular yet if you look at all the various conflicts between them it's very much starting to turn into one.

There are proxy wars happening many places, particularly in the Middle East. At the same time there has been conventional warfare in that groups are being armed by more powerful nations. But no one of "importance" has been bombed or attacked yet to cause a full scale conflict. Nobody sees it as a war involving their country as long as all the shit takes place somewhere else.

856  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin is the savior of professional poker players on: May 25, 2015, 08:50:23 PM
There are still fiat sites like bovada where poker players can play. I wouldn't say Bitcoin is a savior for pro poker players by any means. At most a more convenient method for casual online players.
857  Economy / Gambling / Re: NBA Eastern Conference on: May 20, 2015, 06:34:28 PM
I like Hawks to come out strong in the first quarter.

It will be a good series though imo. It could come down to 6 or 7 games.
858  Other / Meta / Re: Trust score algorithm change on: May 20, 2015, 06:32:04 PM
Damn, my trust score changed drastically. With the default settings I now have over 50 points, instead of 30 or so.

Same here. I saw 24 for myself before and now it's at 100..

Seems like a more straightforward representation of numbers though.
859  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Waco Biker Shootout - 9 Dead, 170 Arrested on: May 19, 2015, 07:49:17 PM
They said 5 of the 9 dead were most likely killed by Police. They also reported that even more members of the gangs are going to be coming into town. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a flare up of violence in the next week or two.
860  Economy / Gambling / Re: NitrogenSports.eu - LARGEST BITCOIN SPORTSBOOK - POKER - BLACKJACK on: May 19, 2015, 07:40:22 PM

Someone really needs to figure out whats wrong with their BJ Tongue
Even though, I know they claim run a provably fair Blackjack, but a lot of people have reported it not being fair, which isn't just a coincidence and is actually strange. Seems they have a cooler sitting on the site the whole day .

It's not strange at all, it's just results based reporting/thinking.  When people win, they don't say anything.  When people lose, they cry publicly.  So all people see are people who lost saying "zomg rigged".  And since most of these people are likely martingaleing, they are either going to win small or lose big (it's by far the dumbest way to gamble).  Saying "I lost therefore it's unfair" doesn't prove anything except a lack of understanding of math.

It could be that but unlikely. A lot of people that play Blackjack at multiple sites, including me, see fishiness in the BJ department at Nitrogen. Yes, provably fair is stated but they can still cheat on the back end.
