Got my PSU Padrino.  Thanks!

As promised, here are more photos from the Shenzhen facility of Bitmain. Thanks again for their hospitality. I have a video of their miners hashing aswell, I'll upload it later on.

They said they were busy with packaging the miners and shipping them. I hope you guys get yours soon too.

Are those S5+ miners there?  I thought they were done with the S5+.

Some quick stats:

625MHz = 1220w DC (From PSU) 1300w AC (From WALL) 5015 gh/s 12.05v at hash board
650MHz = 1267w DC (From PSU) 1352w AC (From WALL) 5220 gh/s 12.05v at hash board

Next stop, 675MHz.  Shocked

Just curious what PSU are you using to power these?

Wow those are running nice at 625.

If I had dead S5 boards I would consider this.

Do you have a set price in mind?  I could use a spare board.
849  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Looking for sp20 controller boards on: October 07, 2015, 01:03:07 AM
I'm a little confused are you selling these units or looking for parts to repair them or either?

If you got all the cables i'm interested in the 5 * 1300w evga! price please?

I believe that he wants to sell them all as a single lot.
851  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 05, 2015, 01:16:34 AM

pacmic 4 is so much worse than pacmic 3. i will wait until they have something based on s7 at more reasonable prices.

It is soooo bad it must be written in error.  I say just don't buy it and I think it will be corrected after the Chinese holidays.

 v3 price   .666                    v4 price 1.00
v3 interest 0.8        v4 interest 0.45

so interest drops from .8 to .45  the contracts are based on  s-5 power use and a 120 day limit.

the v3 will need 95-110 days to pay off and that is paying off .666  most of us will be paid off in 60 days or less from now

the v4 will need 135-160 days to pay off with 0-2% diff growth.
at 120 days they may no longer earn based on s-5 power.

So even though the interest is better ( I could be wrong and missed by a decimal)  you really run the risk of the contract getting shut down after day 120.

I was wrong interest is .45  I quoted old v3 below.

If the s-4 was based on s-7 power use it would be good.  I have to think they meant s-7 power use not s-5.

You're right I really hope that they adjust that to the S7 but I'm not taking the chance on that.
852  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: October 04, 2015, 05:51:02 PM
@philipma1957 can you sleep in the same room with you mining rig?
Aren't those noisy to sleep in front of them, btw i like your rigs.
@valkir well it can be for fun, but i like when it is also for profit Smiley

I was thinking the same thing. Mining rigs generate a lot of energy, I can't imagine being able to sleep with the massive noise/heat just feet away from my head. Lol if I was a miner and that were my set up I wouldn't even want to ROI, it wouldn't be worth the lack of sleep imo.

If you read his other posts that a spare bedroom and it gets quite warm in there.

Had another urge to buy a miner. A Batch 3 S7.

Decided to do this again, instead.

PACMiC v4 looks to be a loser.

Good luck everyone.

I was reading the PACMiC v4 and it disturbed me that it was still based on S5 hash and power rates.

The link to the NXZT fan doesn't seem to be working correctly.  Also does the XBox one Mini controller work on PCs?

Yes, I used it for GTA V (on PC)

Link fixed for fan!

Sweet I'll take the fan and the XB1 controller if they both work properly.

We don't know / Bitmain have not told us the reason for Batch 2 being 575Mhz, 4660GH/S. However we do know that there is always a variance in Miners with some being better at overclocking than others. So best guess is that when they got into production it was found that the HW error rate for some units was unacceptable at 600MHz and this was the easiest solution. Very similar to the S3 when that came out?

Whether they will now make some changes in order to secure 600MHz for all units, or if there will continue to be a selection we will have to wait & see?

What I would add is that according to the BM1385 data Sheet with a core voltage of 0.66V, which only needs an 11.9V supply the expected Hash Rate / Chip should be 32.5GH/S which for a complete S7 would give 5265GH/S. So even prior to this they had already chosen to be quite conservative with the spec of 4860GH/S

Rich

I wonder what kind of testing bitmain does to check if a miner should be a batch 2 miner or a batch 3 miner.  Sometimes you need hours of testing to see how stable a miner is at a certain frequency or were these batch 2 miners manufactured with a certain flaw that has been fixed with what they call batch 3?

Any idea how fast it would hash at full speed with the faulty loop?

A final surprise.  I did a 24 hour rental.

http://solo.ckpool.org/users/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

If it hits each one that purchased from me will get 1 btc.

Bet no thought  of this surprise!

Nice little bonus Phil.  Thanks!

It looks like the 1600w psu has 2 12v rails.  I couldn't find anything about how the 2 rails are split among the connectors.

I might be interested in a system if the price is right.
