But bitcoin is certain to be above 30k before the next halving cycle which is around 2024 so hopefully, we will see some major shift.
we are all having this hope but the question is are we truly going to break that 30k?
if not happened this year then maybe it will be harder in 2024.
I do think that it will break over 30k this year for sure, I mean it's such a close price, it's not even 100% and we all know in the crypto world we face 100% increases all the time when bull run happens, in fact it happens a few times back to back. Like it could go from 16k to 30k and to 60k to 120k, which are all x2 increases eventually.

I believe that 30k will happen but in order for that to happen, we need to make sure that we are in the right head space because it won't be that simple if we do not end up with a good increase in price. Basically, all I am saying is that we need to have the starts of a bull run before we could end up being above 30k.

I'm also not going to participate in this Bonk meme, but what makes you think that SBF is behind this project? He is currently busy with the troubles he is facing, and with the money he stole from the crash of FTX. I think he has more than enough money to live the rest of his life with no worries, he won't need to create meme projects with less than $1 million in trading volume per day. No need further blame him, I believe he will soon pay for what he did.
I think investing into a memecoin based on something that has connections with criminals is naturally not a good idea at all. Having such a big increase right away at the start, and then having this increase crashing hard after a while, and all the other things surrounding it, this comes out to not being great idea at all. I wouldn't invest into it and I understand people who would, and that's their decision if they want to.

Do you really think BONK could get high and stay there, really? Like something that is called BONK would go up and stay there and make you a profit? If you got it at the very start and sold it after 3000% increase that was very lucky of you and great for you, but now it's gone and won't do that again, will just crash.

Erik ten Hag got into a battle with Cristiano Ronaldo and won it. They have won their last 7 matches. They had 8 wins in a row at Old Trafford. They have an amazing performance. All the statistics show that their condition is improving. I think Manchester United will get better momentum now. Time has shown who was right.
To be fair they were winning some of those games when Ronaldo was still there as well, but they kept on winning after he left as well. It's just clear that we are talking about a team that had no plans for Ronaldo, and they are doing fine because they were ready to get him out in the end. All in all I am sensing that they are going to play well this year, but will play even better next year because they will be even more ready.

Just need to players and that's it, more would be great but if they get a great centre back, and get a great striker, that would be more than enough. However, if they could get a good midfielder as addition, or even a good right back, that should be good too.
844  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 2023 on: January 06, 2023, 09:48:02 PM
What evidence do you have for your claim, or on what basis do you base what you are saying? I can't make a prediction for 2023, but as seen by economists or the world bank. 2023 will be another bad year for the economy as rising interest rates start seeping into our economy. So I wouldn't be as optimistic about a bull run as you think bitcoin will hit $64k in the next 2 months, or even this year is unlikely. And one more thing, we are still far from halving, so we cant expect bitcoin to go to 64k in 2023.
The idea is to make predictions, this is the "speculation" section of bitcointalk, which means we are all speculating and making things up. I believe that 2023 will be a "bad" year but the bad there has a level to it, and I think 2020-2021-2022 were worse than what 2023, it's not going to be good at all, but it's not going to be worse than those three years neither.

This is why that means a recovery, if you took an example and got 10 out of 100, then 20 out of 100 then 30 out of 100 that means if the exam you take next could be 40 and still be bad but better than previous years. That's what we should be focusing on, and that's what we should be doing.

Messi was given a warm reception few days ago.
I don't know when Neymar red card suspension will end. If Ney Leo and Kylian will feature in PSG next match that will be very wonderful to watch.
Those three super stars are so good with what they do but among three of them I love Ney more
I think they don't even need all three at the same time, and we have not seen all three play on the same game that frequently neither. Go check the stats and you will see that all three on the floor at the same time is not that common considering it has been over 1.5 years since they got together.

It's fine though, even with just two of them they still win, and even with just one of them they are not that bad neither. So all in all, they will just use the league as a way to overcome match shape issues and fatigue and all that, in order to play all three at the same time during the UCL games, which I believe they will be ready for when the time comes.
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Factors that contribute to form addictive gambling. on: January 05, 2023, 09:04:59 PM
Talk about the factors that make up gambling addiction. the answer will be very relative and very diverse, depending on each individual. and in our current discussion is, alcoholic beverages. in fact, alcoholic beverages cannot actually be an indicator of someone becoming addicted to gambling. As for what actually happens, when a person consumes too much alcoholic beverages, he has the potential to behave unnaturally. whether it's his behavior, or losing the way to think rationally.

So actually what's wrong in this case is the man who is the character in this story, not even the gambling house. throughout my experience, especially in land-based casinos that have big names. the casino always provides the facilities and luxuries they provide to pamper their guests including free drinks. so, in this case the man is not responsible for himself.
Indeed diverse because I already saw a lot of heavy drinkers here in our place but these guys don't even gamble that hard or they never play a gambling during their drinking session. They drink too much so they are only addicted on it. Now if the person is addicted in gambling, that means he gambles often.

Alcoholic drinks shouldn't be blamed here. There are reasons on why people drink and there's also a reason on why people play gambling. It could be because they want to earn more profit but that isn't the case that usually happens here. Instead of profits, all what they got are more losses. Now they are planning to recover those losses first before they continue their journey of winning more money.
847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: January 05, 2023, 08:18:01 PM
I don't see it that way, Thomas Tuchel never met Chelsea at its best state before accepting to stay, Lampard was already leading Chelsea to relegation but Tuchel came with a different energy and the club rose to a different height which later resulted in Chelsea winning the UEFA Champion League and later the club world cup. Manchester United has experienced a rejuvenation in the era of Ten Hag, even if it is in the Midseason or season-ending they can still catch up with whatever trophy they want.
Tuchel was sent for political reasons, not political in the sense of elections or politicians but team politics basically. He was better than any manager they could get, and we are seeing right now how terrible they are without him as well. They are nowhere near the level they should be and considering how much money they have spent they are nowhere near where they could have been if Tuchel stayed as well.

It's just a sad situation where we are seeing them play much worse than they possibly could, and all of that is because they fired Tuchel, the guy who got them a UCL title. In the end though we are just going to have to accept the situation at hand and realize Chelsea sucks.
848  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading With Borrowed Funds!!! on: January 04, 2023, 09:00:33 PM
Not good to be an option just to have money to used for investing on crypto since we don't know what will come and its so risky since we might lose and that will be a big problem to us. Much better if you just stick with the amount you have since even if you lose you will not get any stressed paying someone who sue you for what money you lose from them. Crypto market is so unpredictable so don't risk all with it and always use extra money you have.
That is the difference, because bitcoin is a long term project and may not go up today, and that is understandable and that's true but that doesn't mean that we should be focusing on how to make any type of money based on borrowed funds that you need to pay back.

Someone I know did exactly that this summer, took funds from friends, asked for loans basically and his friends gave it to him, but he failed to make any money at all and basically his whole year profits are gone, his business works towards paying his debt back. That is why it is totally against my mind to go out and get a loan when you have no idea if you could pay it back, doesn't make sense at all.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 04, 2023, 08:23:24 PM
Cremonese should've scored when they found clear positions, what a waste. They could've gotten at least one point from this match. But extra time free-kick goal saved Juventus. They should be thankful to Arkadiusz Milik. If Juventus didn't get 3 points from this match that could hurt their chances. Cremonese is still the only team that don't have any win in 16 weeks.
Now we are waiting for the game of the day. Surely the most important match is Inter vs. Napoli, that will start ten minutes later. While Milan and Juve got 3 points, Napoli should continue their win streak. That will be only first game of their hard fixture coming up.
Cremonese not able to convert their vital chance but Injury time goal from Milik give vital win, and now they are having fifth match with clean sheet which is impressive for them specially after break things looking good because now situation is clear for them in league table for having spot into top four currently Napoli is playing against Inter and AC Milan won their match against Salernitana which allow them two points gape from Juventus and strong hold on their second spot six points behind leaders Napoli.

Lazio also lost his match against Lecce which is clearly indicating now they have to stay out of top four Roma also won their match and now having same points like Lazio but here Lazio is ahead of them just because of goal difference.
850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 03, 2023, 06:19:11 PM
Every gambling enthusiast has their own preferences, and if they have chosen to play at an online casino, it is certain that gamblers will enjoy it.
Not all sports match bets are profitable, there are some that we cannot guess using insight and knowledge.
For example, if you bet on one of the football teams and the enemy team that you are not betting on, actually there are other gamblers who bet on that team with a higher total bet than the team you hold, then automatically that team will win and the team will win. what you hold will lose.
In my opinion, there is no such thing as justice for matches where there is betting activity.
I think personal preferences matter as much as the options offered as well. Like if it was up to me than I would have been a poker player more than anything else in the crypto world, but no matter how many times poker websites tried to be in the crypto world, it never became huge and that is mainly an issue because crypto people do not like Poker I guess, or whatever else the reason.

Hence, I never get to gamble poker that much, tried a few but its usually empty tables and that is not good. So, I had to go to dice first, and now gamble sports a lot more than anything else. This is a proof that you gamble what is given to you, not what you prefer.
851  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tutored or you learned how to trade? on: January 03, 2023, 05:09:33 PM
Studying independently, of course, is a little difficult, but I think that with this we become more serious about learning because it is indeed a little different when we are taught. Even though this is indeed easier because someone teaches, but indeed this can become an addiction in my opinion because in this case we become more fixated on other people even though this does not apply to everyone but I think the average will be like that.
Because when we are being taught continuously I think we can't be more mature.
It's good to have a mentor to tell us what to study and then study it ourselves, that's a bit better solution. Like, if you want to study yourself then you are not going to find what is best to study and how to be great and all.

But, if there is a mentor who doesn't teach you, but just shows you what you need to study, like a syllabus or something where you have a path to study and then you take it from there and start studying yourself? That would be a lot better and would give you a good return for sure. I did just that, I had a friend who was great at this, and asked him what to study, he told me, and I googled and found my way into studying myself.
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs is looking to buy crypto, why? on: January 02, 2023, 08:22:40 PM
You must have misunderstood the news article. It didn't say they will buy what's left of FTX but they will buy or invest in cryptocurrencies because the prices are down as a result of the FTX implosion. These banks are business opportunists at the end of the day and will take a calculated risk if a chance presents itself.
That's right. They risk with the investment in Bitcoin and speculate just like everyone else on profits. They do the same with the "normal" currencies. With cryptocurrencies, the risk is only much higher. You can also call it an additional asset class. Investing in currencies, bitcoin, gold, real estate, cars and more is just a way to invest your money and not let it destroy by inflation. If possible with the smallest risk.
I mean it is super smart to get in right now. They could build a billion dollar portfolio and make as much as 50 to 100 million dollars just from staking it, and then they could also make more from the amazing increase that we are going to have soon enough as well.

I know not many people could do such a thing because they do not trust bitcoin with a billion dollars but Goldman Sachs is rich enough that if their 1 billion dollars becomes zero, they would still continue operating without any problems, this comes with the issue that if they turn 1 billion into 2 billion it won't really be a big profit neither, but it's worth trying at least.
853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High Profit Projects Are Prone To Scam on: January 02, 2023, 06:50:51 PM
This is always a thing we all advise ourselves or new traders to lookout for, but one thing funny is that a team that will be scam or that will not stand by their word which at the beginning was fair, friendly and attractive at site, having achieved it's aim, ends up abandoning the project and moves with the money.
The team working on the project can't be tagged as scammers or geniue and that is why investors have this issue when it comes to investment. Making your research, you'll definitely get everything that will make a project look very good, but the heart intent of the team can't be exposed or seen on the forefront.
Perhaps, they are clever enough to hide their real identity in order for them to make other projects and scam more. They did their best so nobody could notice that they will scam us but sometimes, they will fail to protect it because we already learn from the past scam experience and we are now careful, especially for a new project that promises high-profit returns. I'd see that everyone is now doing their job which makes these scammers hard work and mostly fail in their evil plans.
If there is a good launchpad that you use and if you could get the KYC and even the security of it down then there is no problems. Like for example I use pinksale, they have safu badge, kyc badge, and a few others, which means if a project has all of them at the same time then they are doing great and there is no problem at all.

I obviously do not think that it will be done in any other way if you want to invest, it has to have all badges so I could trust it. If they do, then that means in order to get those badges they had to provide so many proof and even give control so much that they can't technically steal money from anyone and will use it for correct purposes.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 02, 2023, 05:52:02 PM
PSG are still safe at the top of the standings even though they dropped points last night against Lens and of course that doesn't make the PSG team discouraged because they didn't play with a full squad team, so yesterday's defeat made PSG have to improve so they don't lose points in the next game, Lens can just overtook PSG at the top of the standings because they are only 4 points apart
The opportunity for Lens to overtake PSG at the top of the standings does exist because the point gap for the two teams is very close, but Lens needs to hope for two more defeats at PSG because if PSG only loses once more and Lens is able to win again in the next game, PSG will still be on top standings and Lens still has to be in second place in the standings. And this seems to be a little difficult for Lens as well considering that PSG can still be consistent in the next match.
It is rare situations where teams have a chance to see PSG lose, and just because they got a loss doesn't mean that PSG will give up that position. I mean there is a subtle situation where teams would lose to whoever is fighting PSG, just so PSG wouldn't be the winner and usually that doesn't work, just worked for Lille once but usually it won't work.

Because, PSG would beat everyone anyway and be the winner. I personally believe that the best thing here for Lens is to focus on staying as second since that would give them a lot of money and a bit of wiggle room to get great players with that much money in the long run and they could become much better as well.
855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 02, 2023, 05:18:41 PM
Anyone notice this. Those last year top on the Western conference switch places to bottom. 1-5 switch to 6-10 places except Timberwolves and Jazz. Those team that destroyed by GSW on the playoffs is now very strong in regular season and fixed there weakness. Nuggets now have a reliable outside shooter to help Jokic while Gordon is now performing impressively. They recently beat Boston in perfect form with huge price gap.

I know this is too early but I really that Jokic will finally get his ring this year. I just hope that his team mates will not choke because they have the best roster inside out in the league.
In todays NBA, you build a team for a title or you don't have a team at all. This means that many teams either get one year free agents that will give them something and leave, or they pay huge amounts of money to players who would be terrible by the end of the contract, but could get them a title early on.

This is the cause of the trouble, like yeah Warriors won last year, but have you seen what they are paying to their players? They have no room for one more good player and that means if someone gets bad (draymond for example) then they have to keep him on the books for a long time. Which causes them to be amazing at first, but then start to go worse and worse.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 01, 2023, 09:44:11 PM
The Memphis Grizzlies are one of the most ambitious teams of the West this season as well. The Sacramento Kings, which they will host tonight, had a remarkable performance especially in November. They closed the month of December with a rating of 8-6. They have shared their trump card twice this season. Memphis won in the first game and Sacramento in the second game as the away teams. The Sacramento Kings manage to win the overall handicap in their last game in Memphis. Therefore, even if they lose in this match, i think they can stay in the handicap. They have that potential.
The Sacramento Kings have been surprising this year, at least to me.  I didn't expect them to be on top of their division but there is one secret weapon that I was unaware of and hadn't considered...  The beam.  People in Sacramento, including the players, are going nuts over lighting the beam when they win games.  I've honestly never heard anything like it.  I think all teams should adopt something similar.  The sense of pride folks are feeling when seeing that light after a win I truly believe is a motivational factor.  Trading for Sabonis wasn't such a bad move either.  Smiley
I honestly do not think that Beam has absolutely anything to do with their wins Cheesy. I mean sure it's a good motivator but if you are bad then you are bad and you won't be winning games anyway. The difference is that their division has been filled with teams which are not good this year.

Suns was the only team that was good, Warriors were champions but both lacking Steph and they sucked all year, Lakers has been bad since the title, clippers filled with injured players and so forth, it is not because Kings are good, in fact they are 5th in the west, so not that great at all in the west and lacking many games so they could drop a lot as well, like if they lose 4 in a row, they could drop under the playoff spot all together.
857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: January 01, 2023, 09:16:41 PM
The best Visual effect will be for Avatar. Seem very easy for that movie to get such an award. Somehow I feel not very fair since all the effects are computer generated. For me, Avatar 2 has a terrible story that could go up to Avatar 10. They made a new watermen race in that world and a new messiah who could be the girl in Avatar 3.

Oscar Jury has different criteria and of course, those juries know how to scrutinize a film and will look at the film from different angles. And they may prefer the film that features it all for awards that are given more importance like Best Actor, Actress, and Director.

Avatar in all probability will win the Oscar for Best Visual Effects once more. And it is not fair to say that they don't deserve it as the visuals are all computer generated. In that case what prevents the other films from doing the same? I watched Avatar 2 a few days ago in IMAX and I was astounded with the visual effects. It is not just the software, but the skills that go in from the technicians as well. Anyway, I am more interested in the award for best picture. I don't think that it will go to Avatar 2, since the jury is biased against it.

It's true that movies like Avatar have a strong advantage in the visual effects category at awards shows like the Oscars. These movies often rely heavily on computer-generated imagery (CGI) to create their fantastical worlds and characters, which are often impressive and visually stunning. However, it's important to note that creating high-quality visual effects requires a lot of skill and expertise. It's a highly technical and challenging field, and I think all the artists and technicians who work in it deserve recognition for their hard work and talent.

That being said, I think that the Top Gun: Maverick will also have a pretty good chance at taking home an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. The movie has some really impressive CGI, especially when it comes to the aerial dogfighting scenes. I think it might be a close race between these two for which one wins the category, but my money is on Top Gun: Maverick.
The visual effects is not really a category for the movie itself but for the company that did the CGI and that's still good but that doesn't tell much about the movie. No matter how much it was pushed and pushed and pushed on marketing, even didn't let End Game to have the highest box office and put first Avatar on theatres again just for another run in order to get the top box office to make more marketing on the second one, I have to say Avatar will never be a good "movie".

It is about improvement of the cinematic technology and nothing more. For acting, script, and everything else, even producing, its not the best movie at all, its just there to flex on the tech they can use to make a movie and that's it.
858  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mistakes Successful People Never Make Twice on: January 01, 2023, 08:44:26 PM
Blaming others is something I see a lot in the crypto market. The collapse of Luna or FTX has caused a lot of people to lose money, and they have repeatedly blamed greedy and fraudulent developers. But the bottom line is that if they are not greedy and invest in projects that promise high ROI in a short time, they will never lose money or scam. I am not saying I'm rich or successful, but I think we lose money because we are greedy, unable to control ourselves, and then get caught up in scams. Let's draw our own lessons and avoid them instead of blaming others for our failures.
I feel like I am exactly at your point as well. I have seen a million scams or failures in crypto and I have never invested in any of them myself. I have seen friends who got rich thanks to doing silly stuff and that's understandable, at the end of the day we are talking about something that is dangerous but also risk/reward ratio is high, you either lose all your money most of the time because it turns out to be a scam, but on rare occasions you become rich.

But I never did that, and yet I still made a good income, not rich in any means but I did managed to make a good profit. That means if you do not take chances and stick with big coins then you will make a good profit anyway, and you won't get scammed.
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: According To me Ethereum Looks Weak on: January 01, 2023, 08:13:02 PM
Where are you when ETH was in the $500 range in 2020?

Why wait for it to drop to $500-$700 when you can just buy them right now by doing DCA. The price range you are waiting might take some time to happen since it will only go down once there's a FUD or Bitcoin will drop. And by comparing those previous price of ETH in $500 during Nov 28, 2020, BTC price at that time was at $19k. Do you think it will happen again when you already missed it?

If you keep waiting for the price to drop at what you are expecting price you might missed your chances when you can just buy some right now since it's quite low compared to its ATH price.
right, now is a good moment to gradually buy altcoins from now on. the discounted price is now showing an average of -70% I also anticipate not throwing away my money directly, the gradual method is the safest. and this moment should not be missed. although there is a lot of news that bitcoin will still drop in price in the future to reach 12k or maybe more, but the market is difficult to predict, there could be good news that suddenly
Oh, that's great but I wonder where is the drop coming from? I am sure not in Bitcoin because its price is still the same but in fact when I check BTC earlier, it gained some and then its colour is green again. Altcoins are supposed to increase and not drop right? Since BTC is their leader and they obey it whatever it do.

2023 is suspected to be a continuous dump year for the whole crypto so yeah we should not hurry up when buying and use most of our money but we can just do a DCA to be able to gain access for a better buying entry. If they missed the last times bear then they still have a chance. They shouldn't missed this one because this may be the last bear we have before the rally begins.
860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who are responsible for the bear run on: January 01, 2023, 06:28:04 PM
When people say that FTX was the worst thing that happened to crypto in the long time, maybe we should back up and get some perspective on that. Things were already messed up. As in comparison, total crypto marketcap was thriving during covid and recovered almost instantly to ATH after tesla dumped their crypto. But LUNA was the thing that broke everything. FTX was nothing compared to that.
Well i kinda agree. I also think that the whole events around Terra (Luna) also where a major incident within the crypto space, because it was also a major company which was also in the top 10 in terms of marketcap if i remember correctly that fell apart very fast. Now with the happenings around FTX people often forget about that because the FTX events are just more recent. I don't think though that the Terra incident had bigger impacts on the crypto world than the bankruptcy of FTX. Yes, the prices went down even more in terms of percentages when UST lost it's peg but the main reason for that is that the prices were higher back then obviously. So those two events are hard to compare in my opinion.
Before FTX, Others and Luna, the market is already in bear and I think a bear occurs naturally. There are no major reasons on why it happened although there are some things which can amplify it such as when weak people panics and sell after seeing the price crashing hard. Another thing would be the negative news or negative events and the fall of UST is the first one in this list, then followed by luna coin. Other big crypto companies like Three arrows capital are then following the trend.

The last to finish the list would be the collapse of FTX exchange. We shouldn't underestimate this one because the amount involved here are billions. All of these are going to be remembered forever due the amount of damage that they have caused.
