I'm really shocked about how many people still mine on deepbit: big fees, no 8-decimal pays, not particular clear interface, and... not DDoS-reluctant...

So, the worst pool has the biggest power. Incredible!

People are too lazy to switch
863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Surely this isn't a 51% attack on bitcoins, right? on: October 13, 2011, 01:24:33 AM
This is exactly why concentrating too much hash power in a few pools is not a good idea.
Better to mine at a smaller mid-sized pool Smiley

Mine on a mid-sized pool Wink

Deepbit, slush, and btcguild are easy targets.  This is a perfect example why too much hash power to a single pool is not a good idea.

867  Economy / Services / Re: Hiring somebody to help me setup my bitcoin mining rig. I can pay in bitcoins. on: October 04, 2011, 03:21:41 AM
You don't have to pay me to tell you this:

You need to have POWERED pci-e extenders to get more than 4 gpu on any motherboard, some motherboards can only handle 3.  With high power cards - 5970 and 6990 - you can only run 2 cards (4 gpu limit) without using powered extenders.

I almost burned out a motherboard b.c. of this once.

This.

Although I am currently running 2 5970s and a 6950 on a mobo without powered risers.

.... any modern power company they can tell down to the transformer how much power is being used.

Uhm, link?  I searched and found nothing that would substantiate this claim.

And the plot thickens...
Stefanie isn't Ninja/Hollie. Hollie emailed me from htaylo24@yahoo.co.uk trying to sell me this touchpad, and I felt that she was trying to scam me.

I have found this information about her:
MySpace:
Email: htaylo24@gmail.com
Password: frankie1
IP Address: 71.21.81.140 (probably a proxy)
Ladies and gentlemen, it turns out that this guy (Pearikay) is also an alt of Hollie/SHlFT, trying to spread misinformation. Now knowing this, look back at these threads:

Wow... just wow... who needs tv when you have all the drama you need right here...  Cheesy

Makes you wonder how many more aliases this guy/gal has lieing in wait, or building them up right now as we speak.

150SLC?  Isn't SLC worthless now?
878  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Motherboards: What Works w/Four or More GPUs? List Them on: September 06, 2011, 12:53:03 PM
Tested with powered and unpowered from cablesarus.
0, 1 and 4 work, with anything in 2 and 3 it boot loops.

I will re-test this again some time - right now the kids are all behaving, so I'm not gonna mess with them. Cool

Maybe presence pins need shorting?

Would be nice to clarify the Stephanie Andrea situation.  The user is selling some stuff here.

Would hate to see another member scammed.
