Hi everyone,

Is manufacturing on schedule to begin sometime this month?
862  Economy / Securities / Re: [Investment fund] Gamma Bitcoin Fund [Infrastructure change inside!] on: September 09, 2012, 07:50:34 PM
All the deposits has been added and the withdraws has been sent out.

I just got a very angry email threatening to drive to my home and take his/her money from me if I didn't send them. I don't take lightly to threats, and I sure as help don't every want anything to do with the person once I found out who it was. Threats are not okay on any level, This is why I didn't want to give out my ID, I have been nice to you guys, I have been fair and I have been honest. I have always done my best and I hoped that you trusted me, things have been hard but we have gotten out easier them most people look at HK, look at IMSAguy, the reason why we are not in the shitter is because I told you the whole story and we could avoid further liquidity squeeze, if you don't agree with my decisions THEN FACE ME, I am here, I am always here. I am open for disscusion please do question my decisions, do question my logic and morals, but never ever try to threaten me again.

There will be no weekly report tonight, I am no longer in the mood for it... some of the details is already in the log book, more details will be given tomorrow in the weekly report.

Good luck DeadTerra. We know you're doing your best, the time are harsh right now but eventually it'll get better Smiley
Thanks, I think we will see a major improvement after the 1200 BTC will be moved into safer investment Smiley
//DeaDTerra

Lots of us quiet ones are sticking with you DT. A pox on the house of those who make threats Cheesy You are a cool guy and do not deserve such treatment.
I know Smiley
Most of you guys are nice and cool, i just have to make a statment because now that I have given up my anonymity I can't have these kind of people coming after me, it won't work.
//DeaDTerra

Yea I understand, anonymity is important for such reasons. But that person is just embarrassing themselves. If necessary I authorize the use of funds to move you to a secure facility guarded by a team of special ops commandos Cheesy We will get you the DT Secret Service.

864  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Now that the bet is over... on: September 09, 2012, 05:28:51 PM
Now that we've given a scammer tag to a man after just a few hours of his even being able to verify that he indeed lost a crazy bet (a man who was probably sleeping at the time by the way), perhaps we should move on to something more significant.

Where's the revolution going next? Mesh networks? Insinuating itself (brilliantly) amongst the big established credit card companies in the fashion of BitInstant? Bitcoin banks with multisig?

As much as some might hate to admit it, it's gonna be someone like Matthew and decidedly not someone like Pirate that pushes Bitcoin forward...if you can't see the difference between a real scammer who profited off of others and what Matthew did, or think they are somehow equivalent, I suggest you think carefully. Most grown ups can see the difference...and no one really believes something that is too good to be true, much less act or rely upon it...

Good day all.

+1

Does pirate have the scammer tag yet?

Will the old addr.dat always hang around now that peers.dat has replaced it? I notice peers.dat is much smaller, is this because it is a more efficient internally managed method? Nice work again everyone, if there is any type of formal test plan I am happy to help run it.

PS. I also notice the .lock file is never deleted. Is this normal? Mine was from last year so after closing the client I deleted it and restarted it but it was created again. Normally a lock file exists only when the DB is open, right? I do detach my databases on shutdown.
866  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 08, 2012, 03:45:43 PM
So what is the word on the bet? It ends tomorrow, right?
867  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Version 0.7.0 release candidate 2 ready for testing on: September 08, 2012, 12:02:58 AM
rc2 is starts fine and downloads the blockchain on Windows 8 aside from the issues with Qt which I mentioned previously. Is there a test plan which should be executed to help testing? Nice work everyone!
868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Romney's tax returns - first Bitcoin extortion? on: September 07, 2012, 12:42:42 AM
It doesn't make sense to send money to either address unless it is done all at once. If there is a race and one loses they will have wasted their money. Please send me your coins and I will escrow them until it reaches 1 million. If not I will send them back Cheesy With 7% interest (sorry couldn't resist)...
869  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Version 0.7.0 release candidate 2 ready for testing on: September 06, 2012, 09:19:27 PM
Very nice Gavin! What are the changes between rc1 and rc2?
870  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Version 0.7.0 release candidate 1 ready for testing on: September 05, 2012, 04:00:25 PM
I see BIP 0034 is listed on the CVE page. Is it actually to fix a vulnerability? Also will CVE-2012-4682 and CVE-2012-4683 be fixed in 0.7?
871  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 05, 2012, 03:59:38 PM
Yes, the discussions are interesting but it would be nice to have a read only thread so that we could follow the ASIC development progress.
872  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 03, 2012, 08:23:22 PM
Where is the ASICMiner board? Is it a sub-board somewhere? Thanks

https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/Tor.txt

"In particular, the Tor Browser Bundle defaults to listening on a random port."

As of the latest Tor Browser Bundle it no longer listens on a random port (at least under Windows from what I could tell).
874  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin under Windows 8 on: August 29, 2012, 02:51:24 PM
Can you try http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.7.0/test/ but as was said before, the legacy theme we see on your screen could be related to Qt not knowing about Win8 and the ugly progressbar will look better with 0.7 even if Qt hast Win8 detection problems.

Dia

Edit: Btw. I hate the Win8 Metro GUI, it sucks soooooo fucking bad and the removal of Aero from the normal Desktop is another procovation from MS ^^.

Yea I don't understand why they had to ruin the GUI Sad

Yup, the progress bar looks better under 0.7.0RC1 so it looks like Qt has the issue! I posted this actually to the .7 thread but should have added it here too!
875  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Version 0.7.0 release candidate 1 ready for testing on: August 29, 2012, 02:36:29 AM
Does this version have coin control?
No, Coin Control was found to be poorly designed (how can you control specific outputs held by the same address?) and its maintainer disappeared. Parts of it (grouping logic) were merged into the new raw transaction RPC methods. At this point, getting Coin Control in probably means someone needs to step up to adapt it and clean it up to provide the same functionality as the raw transaction stuff.

Sad to say, looks like it was indeed abandoned: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/1359
876  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Version 0.7.0 release candidate 1 ready for testing on: August 29, 2012, 01:33:49 AM
Very nice! Would be nice when the command line options are opened and "Show Details..." is clicked if that windows could be resized. Should something as small as this be filed as a feature request?

The synchronizing with network progress bar looks good now on Windows 8.
877  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin under Windows 8 on: August 28, 2012, 03:59:31 PM
If you can't switch to windowsvista (or even windowsxp) style it misses some APIs. This is a Qt issue, so it will probably be resolved some day when we link to a new version of Qt.

For now, I'm surprised and happy that it's running at all.

Makes sense, thanks!

@keystroke:
You can see it in spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq6Ug2ODt-l2dC13WldWaTBWQVNYZWRwVDgtQmhzUkE#gid=0
Uninsured pirate exposure was 0, recently DT bought some pirate shares worth in total 182 BTC, because he believe they will be bought back at better price.
Everything is in the logbook: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq6Ug2ODt-l2dHBoeDFWTC10QXYwR25rRXctWUE3a3c#gid=16

Thanks! Smiley

Hi DT! Smiley Just reviewed the new plan and I like it. Sorry to ask again, but how much of the fund, if any, was exposed to Pirate?
880  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin under Windows 8 on: August 27, 2012, 07:40:28 PM
Yea it's strange it goes pre-XP. Trying with -style windowsvista didn't change anything. Nothing is running in compatibility mode and everything else looks fine. Basically the issues are the progress bar and the "3d look" to the areas with text. It looks like they are buttons. Not a big deal but Win8 is out soon so it is probably good if the client looks correct under it.
