881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Inform Yourself? on: August 03, 2019, 10:47:25 AM
Do we really need a new thread like this? I've seen several threads sharing a list of useful URL for the crypto enthusiast and with forum or Google search you can find the same thing.

I don't like redundancies, especially if one of those threads are still open.

It is worth the try, aside from uninformative post and other shit post around the corner, this is way too better. The top informative site for me is of course this forum, the birthplace of the crypto space etc.

I also watch news around the globe via satellite tv, and also with the helpful tips of my colleagues when it comes to investing in new coin, they are surely helpful.
882  Economy / Economics / Re: Is institutional capital good or bad for Bitcoin? on: August 03, 2019, 07:26:21 AM
Institutional investors wants interests on their said investments, they want assurance that their money they invested would give them profit at a specified time, Bitcoin was not designed for this, it is volatile and no specific price, it is unpredictable and no one knows whats gonna happen if you invest on it. Institutional capital is big, they got money and power, it is a big help for Bitcoin in order to push it to another level. Currently some big names in institutional investments are researching crypto currencies, on how they could manage to extend their businesses along side crypto trading and the likes. If more and more money gets in the it could give motivation and the whales would play even harder, leaving Bitcoin to be in a bull state again.
883  Economy / Economics / Re: On Bitcoin and old-timers on: August 02, 2019, 11:58:38 PM
Well in our case, my father is nearing his 60 years of age and he is fond of me making an investment in crypto currencies. He even told me one time that if possible he can learn from me and invest on his own. I told him that even myself lacks deep knowledge about this kind of investments, but the important thing is I earn from and that's all that matters, knowledge about it is a bonus for me and he totally agrees with me. He is now nearing his retirement and one of his plans is put some of his money to Bitcoin, because that is all he knows for now.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do with a 1000$ and what would you do? on: August 02, 2019, 11:14:22 PM
Ethereum and EOS if you are not looking forward on investing on Bitcoin, but if I had the money, I would split it in to half. One half is for Bitcoin and the other half are for alts like eth and eos. It is been like thi for me since the beginning, I also took advice from the people who are experience  here and so far I am convince and contented on what they are giving to me.
885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If they banned bitcoin in your Country (just clone a representation of it) on: August 02, 2019, 10:18:56 PM
I will just trade it or our local currency if they ban crypto here, it is definitely the best option or us people with no power to fight back, if you fight a government then you would be a revolutionist and that maybe great in the eyes of some people but not to the well being already. But if they only ban Bitcoin and nothing more, then there are tons of alts that are next to the top so I will just trade to what ever my desired coin is.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: British Virgin Islands introducing new fee to send money abroad on: August 02, 2019, 11:23:14 AM
This will only drive closer the adoption of Bitcoin to the public. I strongly believe that the dwellers will devise another means of sending out their funds to their parent by using the Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency and when it happens there will be a general mass adoption toward cryptocurrency in general.

It is still on British grounds, I think it can speed up a little adoption when it comes to more than 10 countries. If only remote Islands here in our country does have internet connection maybe then they would use crypto based remittances, just their travel to urban areas to get the money make them suffer, cost and everything is high that is why we need internet here and then we implement Bitcoin or other crypto to be use as a means of receiving money abroad.
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Campaign After Getting Listed on: August 02, 2019, 07:13:37 AM
I notice that some coins that are already in the market are doing bounty campaign again like Credits, Veil Eterbase and among others, do you think it's important for a coins/tokens that are already listed to run a bounty campaign from time to time even if they are already listed in exchanges.

It is a strategy of course, aside from attracting more investors to join it is a liquidation process, for the coin to circulate they should give it to the bounty hunters for their work. I bet some bounty hunters are also traders that is why some coins are pumping from the holders and not from the devs, this cases are rare but true,
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You Should Know Before Playing A Crypto Betting Game on: August 01, 2019, 11:44:59 PM
Some crypto betting games are provably fair, while others aren't. When deciding the crypto games to play you should consider it's fairness. (Especially a game that requires luck.) Not all that claim to be provably fair are actually as they say, some are just managed by scammers.

A provably fair crypto betting game would have it's code on Github i.e. open-sourced. That way a developer can easily confirm the authenticity of the claims. Another way would be to use a provably fair tool to check. These tools can be found online.

A friend lost a chunk of his crypto investments to a scammer that claimed his game was provably fair. The owner of the website waited till the website was popular, to accrue more victims. Then he simply closed the website and vanished with thousands of dollars belong to people.

Don't play because others are winning!

That's another tactic the scammer used. He usually gave winnings to a circle of accounts that were managed by him. When you try to compare the losses of the accounts to wins, the wins would be more. He did this to entice his victims.

Be safe!

Pinpointing scammers would definitely help many gamblers especially the newbie in gambling. IF you have any experience meeting or encountering a not probably fair game with  solid proof evidence that the said site is cheating then you should report it for everyone to know. Application and tools around the net is somehow dangerous, it should be filtered, with no hidden machines that may corrupt your PC or even worse hijack your accounts, so you better list some authentic and proven probably fair tool for checking.
889  Economy / Economics / Re: (36%) of U.S. investors would consider buying bitcoin on: August 01, 2019, 12:14:16 PM
Considering and really buying is poles apart , but seeing this number increase over the years is a good thing for not only US but the whole world because trust me many countries follow US.
The only loop hole is them being ridiculously double sided when it comes to cryptocurrencies , you could see one investing in it and as soon as it's given a bad reputation they follow this .
This sheep trail regarding the cryptocurrencies does very less good .
But Gold still holding it's investors high despite slow growth just shows us how people are favouring less risk , less profit situations.

Since US is somehow a model of others in terms of investments then some people should be able to open up their minds and follow choosing the cryptocurrency a choice for their investments. This kind of events is somehow helping to the crypto community.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling affect your overall lifestyle? on: August 01, 2019, 10:55:16 AM
You had win so many times and yet you came back to win more? That i way too greedy of you, if i were in your case I would've quit already and think of another business that could make your money survive for a decade, even not multiplying at least cycling in more than a decade paying your bills and giving you enough food. Well people are different, maybe you have your reason on why you still came back to gamble you winnings.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is better Government run Lottery or private run Lottery on: July 31, 2019, 12:34:36 PM
Philippine President Duterte suspended the operation of the government-run lottery because it is spam infested and many governments appointed officials are pocketing money coming from the sales, do you think it is much better to let a private company run the Lottery or they set up a monitoring board to check if all funds are all remitted..

Source : https://www.rappler.com/nation/236406-duterte-suspends-pcso-gaming-operations-july-26-2019

Your thoughts

I am totally in agree with the current president, there is something fishy inside the lottery system in the Philippines, in my whole life I ave only bet 2 to 3 times because I never felt winning in the game ever. The time has come that my wishes has come true, investigating the illicit activities inside the lottery would make it better if it re-opens again with no corrupt employees inside.
892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & Lightning - Would you pay for coffee instantly if it was possible? on: July 31, 2019, 12:28:36 AM
Bitcoin was created to be a universal currency and lightning makes it possible to make completely P2P micro-transactions for a few pennies paid in fees.

Now let's assume for the sake of this poll that you could now spend your bitcoin that is under your control on your wallet, anywhere, by just tapping your bitcoin wallet (hardware or mobile) against an existing credit card machine and you are able to pay with bitcoin over lightning.

What I'm trying to understand and defend against a lot of the mass skeptics is this exact question - Would you use bitcoin as a currency if it was possible?

I believe, irrespective of the value, anybody that held bitcoin before 2017 would be in a place to spend it.

I rarely used my Bitcoin at all, in fact I am planning get more. Even if the price plunges it doesn't matter, I will still buy whenever I have the means. In terms of using it daily I don't agree with using it with just some coffee, It is the same as it was way back, the 10,000 BTC pizza, and maybe if someday it will be worth a fortunes millions or trillions then you would be probably the talk of the future people who spend their Bitcoin on a coffee. I would use my Bitcoin only if necessary like there's some grave illness that needs to be cured in the member of the family and there no more options to use.
893  Local / Pamilihan / Re: PSA: You can buy from Shopee using Bitcoin on: July 30, 2019, 11:05:53 PM
894  Economy / Economics / Re: Crimes involving crypto have risen on: July 30, 2019, 01:52:29 AM
"Nearly 2.7 trillion won ($2.3 billion) have been lost to crimes involving cryptocurrency in the last two years, according to South Korean government data."

where do you see the improvements being made against crypto criminal activity. this can really hurt the price for traders/investors if conditions don't improve.

That will improve for sure but it will take time, when market regulation happens, scams will be minimize.

Next time you post the source so you will not violate the forum rules which in your part is Plagiarism.
This is the source https://www.coindesk.com/south-korea-estimates-2-year-losses-from-crypto-crimes-at-2-3-billion for sure.

This could not be avoided, it is in the nature. crypto currency or not still there are corruptions, stealing, money laundering etc. All we could do is to be very vigilant. There should be any problems if we equipped our selves with prior knowledge on how to avoid this things in first place. So I think the ones who have been robbed also has their flaws, they let their guards down in fact when it should be up all the time.
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: July 30, 2019, 12:21:11 AM
Most of the followers for both Pacquiao and Mayweather wanted to hear another rematch plan for them. It seems to be hype creation to gather demand from supporters. Although we heard lots of statement coming from Floyd, which gives trash talks on the champ Manny. In reality they're not enemies but friends  for real, but they're not showing it publicly just to preserve privacy for their career status.

Mot trashtalks are just to promote and nothing more, I think only some Mexican boxers do really intended to hurt Manny's feelings and his family too. The great thing is even they throw some bad words about Manny it only stays outside and in the real fight, they can even hardly land a single blow to Manny leaving them in dire situation and being a punching bag at all.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I don’t share Strategies anymore? on: July 29, 2019, 11:07:30 PM
I don't believe on any strategies, if someone has a 100 percent accurate way of winning for sure he won't share it with us. He will keep it for himself, because that would cause chaos on the gambling companies, losing all the time for them means closing the site. I saw lot of people sharing strategies of their own but in the end wants share or profits if you win, but how about if we lose? could we also hare it to them? I guess not so it would be better if we play our own style.
897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A funny conversation you can have on: July 26, 2019, 09:30:51 AM
Boosting how much you make may sound like you are promoting a ponzi scheme to them, at least to those who doesn't know about bitcoin yet.
Every country I guess has different level of exposure in crypto, I just happen to belong in a country where bitcoin is not yet popular, so I would just keep my mouth shut and let them ask me and I'll answer, it's just hard to win against the majority.

I think they would just assume we are in some kind of networking stuff that we may take the upper hand because of we have invested earlier than they have. May this kind of approach would work for some managers who are desperately in dire need of money, hearing big profits with just a small a amount of time would drive them crazy to invest in Bitcoin.
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things all gambling websites/apps/games should have? on: July 25, 2019, 01:31:48 PM
Provably Fair is in top list, no one would play a game if isn't fair at all for sure. There should be at least some features that would be pausing the to play in streaks, like for example a chatting box, for them to mingle with other players and share their ideas on current trends and strategies of the game. I remember in some poker game, I could send flowers and drinks for other players at the table and get their attention to talk to me.
899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] The International 2019: Dota 2 World Championship on: July 25, 2019, 09:07:46 AM
Liquid at epicenter has great gameplay with the miracle he got an MVP award at Epicenter, TI 9 probably will really have cooled match between Liquid with old member Matubaman. Also, Na`Vi & Alliance get a spot at TI 9 and make the game will be El - Classico.

Also PSG.LGD Training was really hard, they have some rules for the team member to always training at Bootcamp if not they will pay some charge to the company.

I am Liquid fan despite being an Asian and a Filipino, I do really like how Miracle carries the game with the help and support of his team mates. I will be betting all of my in-game Dota 2 items when Liquid will be at the finals, so if not I would just bet some. I really love dota 2 and this is the only game that I play, I am excited to who will reign in TI 9, I hope Liquid does.
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think a "winning mindset" can get you what you want while gambling? on: July 23, 2019, 08:19:16 AM
Not at all time but it could less the stress of losing streaks. Also it is good to have a positive mindset than negative one a it will give you some courage to bet higher that you have used to. In other cases, it also helps you forget about the times you have lost, and then gives you more push to continue play and get back what you have lost.
