881  Economy / Goods / Re: (WTS) Black iPhone 5 AT&T 16GB Mint Condition w/ Mophie Case + Element Case on: May 31, 2013, 08:11:16 PM
You're asking $600 for a used phone that retails for $650. A quick ebay search reveals new iPhone 5 sold for under $300. You might want to lower your expectations.

get me an ATT iPhone 5 that is still on the old OS so it can be jailbroken and I will gladly pay $300, heck and I would buy 10 of them right now...

Also the mophie case is $80 and the element case runs another $100 (if you pre-ordered before they were out)

ATT iPhone5 16GB models average at $475-550 for good condition units
http://www.ebay.com/sch/Cell-Phones-Smartphones-/9355/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=iphone%205%20att%2016gb&_pppn=r1&_dcat=9355&LH_Complete=1

And you said it yourself there.  $475-$550 is the right range, knowing ebay/paypal take 10% try to get $500 here.  Not $600+  Also used cases don't add too much to the price.

884  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB Avalon TP-LINK TL-WR703N. 1BTC on: May 31, 2013, 12:32:55 AM
The MR3020 is the more advanced version of the wr703.  Do you have the firmware needed to flash it or is it stock?
885  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1Kw PSU apparently not enough juice for 2x7970's Ghz Editions... on: May 31, 2013, 12:22:57 AM
A PSU also should not be light.  If you pick up a 900W power supply and it feels light it is probably crap.  Pushing out high power takes serious components that have weight to em.  I have found some off brand supplies that have done well, like Rocketfish.  I get Rocketfish 900W supplies and treat them like 700W units.  Out of 6, not have died over two years.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Start Using mBTC as Standard Denomination? on: May 30, 2013, 10:09:01 PM
Often orders for small items in my store are priced in the mBTC range.  I have orders down to 16 mBTC SHIPPED for a set of QR stickers for example.

888  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How long before GPU mining is obsolete? on: May 28, 2013, 08:56:47 PM
Once BFL starts shipping or those large orders of Avalon chips get assembled, difficulty will rise enough so that GPU's will no longer be profitable above average electricity.  That point is NOT now for anyone who already has GPU's and regularly priced electricity.  I do not expect the price of BTC to keep rise with difficulty so I once difficulty goes up by 4x, GPU's are out for most users.

I say three months.
889  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining Power Could be Put to Better Use on: May 28, 2013, 01:20:56 AM
I saw a thread which suggested redirecting hashing power towards a project that had potential to cure cancer and other diseases - a better use of resources IMO

Still has the problem of a central authority as well as it is not 'hard to do, easy to verify'.

890  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining Power Could be Put to Better Use on: May 28, 2013, 12:47:54 AM
The reason why you can't do this is you need a hard to do, easy to verify problem.   While there are a lot of cool ideas like cancer research, finding ET or weather work, all of them need human interaction to verify and most require huge data streams.   None of these will work to replace hashing.
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [wts] white litecoin shirt $18 shipped USA on: May 27, 2013, 08:07:17 PM
Why don't you accept LTC as a payment ? If you do i'll order a couple of Tshirts.

I do accept LTC, just not automated.  If there is an automated way of taking LTC, please let me know!
892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Liberty Reserve is now dead (Good News For Bitcoin ?) on: May 27, 2013, 12:55:03 AM
Now that Liberty Reserve is dead is that good or bad for bitcoin?

I think its good because it should lead to more people adopting bitcoin.

Read Article -

http://krebsonsecurity.com/2013/05/reports-liberty-reserve-founder-arrested-site-shuttered/

I hope people will now learn not to put any trust in digital centralized monetary institutions. They all have the potential to fail eventually .. Egold, Liberty Reserve etc...

It's bad for Bitcoin. Remember what E-Gold did? Kept people from Bitcoin.

I disagree.  I think it will actually force a bunch of people to use Bitcoin. Some of these people will have honest businesses and others won't.  There simply are not many alternatives.

894  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: The Lowest heat producing Radeon card? on: May 26, 2013, 01:56:33 AM
Which card produces the least heat? (and hashes efficiently)

I want to buy it

The least heat per hash would be a 7970.  You do need to find one that has unlocked voltage though, that can make a big difference with undervolting.
895  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Hardware help please on: May 25, 2013, 05:39:00 PM
Ok, so on-board video works.

When you removed the cables to your hard drive, did you replace them back into the same sata port? Make sure everything is connected correctly and tight. That message is basically saying its having issues finding/connecting to your HD.

Double check in the BIOS settings that your HD is being detected.

I just updated the bios had windows up again then I put both the graphic cards back in and now it won't boot up

Using a asus P8Z77v LX motherboard running a MSi 7950 and a 7850 off a 700w psu now it wont turn on did I toast the psu?

Ok.  Just was checking for low quality but OCZ is ok.

897  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: shoruds or no shrouds on gpus on: May 25, 2013, 05:15:57 AM
shoruds probably there to ensure warm air isn't recirculated back into the fan's intake.
Bing bing we have the winner.

Reference shrouds also route hot air out of the computer case so in crossfire can be done with a closed case.  Open case bitcoin miners do not care but it does help you run cooler.
898  Economy / Goods / Re: Radiation Free Air-Tube Headphones on: May 25, 2013, 01:54:39 AM
I went outside one time. Did you know they have a big nuclear ball of fire just spewing radiation at us out there? This needs to be remedied.

That is why I think of solar panels as thermonuclear collection plates.  Smiley
899  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Schumer: It’s time to go after the 3-D printable guns on: May 25, 2013, 01:47:08 AM
I just want a printer that can print more printers.

It's like having unlimited wishes, except you have to pay for the materials involved Tongue

Of course it only makes some of its own parts, but that is a start.

Obama's face is a face of a guilty man who has been at the helm of killing many innocent people abroad based on nothing of substance.

How is he different then the past presidents?  He has done many things that are clearly illegal just like other presidents.  The last one lied to start the war that killed so many and really worked against our own interests by making Iran so much more powerful.
