901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: regulation n altcoins' future? on: February 11, 2018, 01:59:45 PM
If you notice that already now governments of different countries are trying to develop all sorts of laws that will prohibit the use of certain coins, in general they will prohibit the use of crypto-currencies
So you're saying that future of crypto lays behind massive regulatory-wall?
Unfortunately I got a feeling this going to be the case. Governments have huge appetite for our privacy.
Day by day some small freedoms are being taken away from us, how long before we realise that we are owned by some sort of master-race?
Its hard to call people to start mutiny, if this process is being rolled out with small steps. Eventually they will come after cryptocurrency, under some ridiculous pretext, like war on drugs or terror. Goal it to establish their own, centralized, fully controlled chains.
We should be against and we will be but what about "grey masses"? That's why broad acceptance is important. More people with wallets the less chance "they" will succeed. Protect all crypto freedoms!

903  Economy / Services / Re: [CONTEST] 0.01 Reward for coming up with a creative name for our SportsBook on: February 10, 2018, 04:06:44 PM
There are so many propositions Shocked already, its doubtful that mine will even get noticed but I will give it a try anyway.
BitBooky - this one is available for almost all domains, only tweeter is taken  Undecided
Bitnbook  - also all versions available and looks like its free on social media
Blocksports - .com is taken but rest looks free.
And as a last proposition, the most simple and descriptive one:
btcsport(s)book - to my surprise all domains are ready to buy, (s) is optional doesn't change the availability.
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitgrail hacked, 17 million Nano (XRB) stolen on: February 10, 2018, 10:09:47 AM
Sad news i am really tired from news about scams and hacks. This can kill crypto
That's so true...
Unfortunately this hack(if any) is the direct result of their account termination policy.
Of course this is just my opinion, I have nothing to back this up but just look at their social-media feeds, full of dislikes for the termination process. There are hidden rules, stating that accounts with small amount of coins will be terminated without any returns (0.005 if I'm not mistaken ). This is nowhere visible during termination of the account, horrible practice dot you think? And so, somebody got pissed.
I was a "victim" of this termination as well, despite my account being registered before the new rules. Lost just few thousand doge...
All they have had to do was to enable people to withdraw their penny's with said doge, no harm done and easy peasy  but no!  Undecided
905  Economy / Services / free BTC here -> 100% share-back [crazy update] on: February 10, 2018, 08:45:32 AM
Hi, I'm looking for few members(of any rank) to become my referrals on freebitco.in faucet.
As you may know, this faucet is offering 50% commission for people who refer others.
I had set up this system to share 100% of my commission back to you.

example: If you freeroll 5 times a day, for 7days you will earn about ~800 satoshi*.
normally ~400sat would be my referral profit of your work, however freebitco.in lets me to set "share-back" feature so I can reward you
for your effort. This 400 will be given back to you at the end of the week, before automatic withdraws.

*(calculated roughly with current rewards ratio)

My account is already set and this process is fully automatic, all you have to do is PM me to get my ref. link and then register with it.
No risk, more you play the more will be given back to you!

-Crazy update!-
If I will ever become a winner of the freebitcoin lottery,
25% of my winnings will get shared with 1 random, active referral.
Verifiable as you know what is my user ID @ freebitcoin.
906  Economy / Services / Re: 🚀[Signature Campaign] 🚀LEGOLAS Exchange 200 Members Required | [CFNP] on: February 09, 2018, 06:49:10 PM
I am constantly reminding them to send the payment. Please know the delay is from their end as I have already submitted all sheets. I suggest you guys also remind them on discord
I think they made the transactions just now Smiley
It was a a little bumpy ride with  Legolas but all in all satisfying.
Would like to give my thanks to Wapinter and of course to Mr Fink.
Hope you will have a blast and see you somewhere in the webs Smiley
Cheers. The TX.
907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Jesus Coin will be Nr 1 by the end of the year on: February 09, 2018, 05:21:43 PM
I will never understand why some people think coins like this are a good idea. And then cry afterwards when they have lost all their money.  Roll Eyes
Millions of flays can't be wrong, poop is tasty!
This basically answers your question. They are following the herd.
Majority of them don't bother with research, all they see are huge crowds on chatrooms, mega-hype on forums, memes on social-media etc.
There is also language barrier, lack of experience and to much of extra money.

It's a joke, a very good one. And it's self aware too.
One say it's good and the other will get disgusted, I don't find in funny at all. To be clear, its not the faith aspect that offends me.
Person referred as Jesus on the telegram chat called followers "his bitches" in the official announcement of the airdrop.
And this wasn't a joke, at least there was nothing that indicated a joke. Just like that he lost probably a few people and even one of his minions, referred as Jesus's Donkey, felt a little resented(I assume) and retaliated him with F.U etc... lame and boring shitcoin.
908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still buy Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2018, 10:12:57 AM
Yes because now it's a good opportunity for buy bitcoin.
Because bitcoin prices are decreasing and I will hold it until the prices growing up again.
Looks like most of you guys are missing the entire point here  Undecided
One does not simply pump and dump... this saddens me, that such great amount of people treat bitcoins as pure profit machine.
Pump and dumping should be reserved for shitcoins only. This attitude towards btc is making it fluctuate so greatly and in fact killing it bit by bit.
It was suppose to  become worldwide currency, not asset for making more fiats...
This was designed as a tool, to bring back the original financial balance to the world, not as golden eggs laying hen.
Buy? Sure but don't dump for fiats.
909  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: February 09, 2018, 08:54:10 AM
Also, are people still posting their bitcoin addresses...
Yes they do and its absolutely pointless Smiley This promo have ended long time ago.
Just like TheQuin said, only way to have some "head-start" is to follow a ref link from people that offer referral returns.
If you interested, I'm sharing 100% for my ref's based on activity (more you win with free rolls, the more you will be given at Sunday afternoon),
just PM me if you want.
And if not mistaken there is still "bounty" for posting proofs of winnings in lottery.

911  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning Network & bigger amounts? on: February 08, 2018, 03:45:00 PM
{Most channels are funded with much smaller amounts, right?}
Yes, they are rather small but nothing stops an old-school holder from starting one with say 300BTC.(well as it turns out there are limitations)
But most of those 1000s will probably be willing to send small transactions anyway, they can pick any channel as long as it supports the amount they need to send. Quantity of people is kinda irrelevant, the amount of money they're sending in one TX is what matters.
If 7 people out of those 1000, use all the founds on one particular channel, rest will have to look for a new payment channel.
The original one, with 100BTC will be "automagically" closed/excluded from suggestions.

Is this why the Lightning Network is more effective for micro transactions and less affective for large transactions?
That will be yes again, it was designed with smaller transactions in mind.

...make on-chain payments, but this would defeat the purpose... right?
Yep Smiley
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 🔷 TV-TWO | CONNECT YOUR TV TO THE ETHEREUM BLOCKCHAIN 🔷 on: February 08, 2018, 02:35:29 PM
What fees should advertisers pay for a channel with 1m number of viewers a day? What if I would like to watch several videos simultaneously, will I have several rewards?
I believe you are not able to abuse the system in a such way Smiley It would be too easy then. Probably you better have several accounts for this purpose.
I guess we will have to wait for developers response on this question. I also wonder if "multiple instances" going to be possible.
It's not meant to be a farming mechanism, those credits earned from ads, promo videos or trailers are for you to spend on content you will be potentially interested, this is just my reasoning.
Speaking of content, how TV-TWO is planing to fill its offer for movies and other video entertainment?
I assume you wont be making your own productions, at least not at the beginning  Smiley (but are you planing to?), will you rent content from other platforms, like Netflix/HBO etc?
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: shameless on: February 08, 2018, 01:00:37 PM
I wonder what happened to OP to accuse MEW? If you haven't take any security procedure to make your investment safe, its your fault and not because of MEW.
Did you see the way he spelled the URL?  "myyetherwallet.com"  That pretty much explains what happened to him.  When you type in the wrong URL, you are on the wrong site - "oh gee, maybe it is a hacker site".  Yeah.  That could be the problem.  Bitcoin and Ethereum are very much stupid proof.  People who do stupid shit are gonna get killed.  Very strong Darwinism in Cryptoland
We should have a board named this way Grin catchy and descriptive.
To be more serious, OP if you got robed of your precious altcoins or ETH at MEW than you should definitely share more detail of your story.
Posting such cryptic sentence wont do any good for you or anyone else. Right now this just looks like some FUD directed at MEW service.
Nobody will treat your warning seriously. Post exactly how, when and of what you where robed, make some effort to prove it / document it.
This wont bring back your stolen funds but you may save other people from replicating your mistakes.
This of course if you care, at least a bit.
914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should government consider bitcoin as a legal global currency? on: February 08, 2018, 11:18:12 AM
Japan already made bitcoin a legal currency. Would you consider your countries to also pass a law recognizing bitcoin as a legal form of currency?
That would be great. That's a good way to unify the whole world; by having one monetary system, that is, bitcoins. With bitcoins legal around the world, then we won't have to worry with exchange rates and money changing booths. We'll all have to depend on bitcoins.
Well, I don't know... kinda scary idea, this world currency is. Bitcoin could however serve this purpose. As it is decentralised and by design "influence free", by this I mean no one will be able to lock you from your coins, sweep you of the grid etc.
But there is one more factor here, governments are full of older people, some of them "cant even in to internets", I can't imagine how and when, such concrete political establishment could understand and appreciate cryptocurrency's values. And I'm completely neglecting banks opposition.
Japan somehow made it... but they are weirdos Wink 20years ahead of everybody else...maybe some day but not soon, rest of the world will follow them.
915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Media is negative about Bitcoin? on: February 08, 2018, 09:05:38 AM
You must understand that the majority of the media is controlled by the same powers that control the western central banking system. -snip-
This sounds like something i want to believe.
Do you have any facts for what you are saying?
-snip-
If you want to believe it than I guess there is nothing that could stop you from doing just that Smiley
Nobody will provide you with evidence because there are none. Its mostly a guess or estimation of reality we are living in.
Over 100 years ago there was more than 80 news/media company worldwide (majority in the states). Today we have, like 6?
Massive conglomerates, owning entire sports teams and movie studios. Their stocks are "free" for everyone to buy.
It would be stupid not to assume, that super-rich family's are not owning some significant amount of those shares.
This however is a commercial secret, none of those conglomerates will ever expose their investors(I think its even against the law), and so shareholders can rule from behind the curtains. If you look at the background of the chairman's in major media-complex's, you can notice that almost all of them where at some point employed in the banking system(but that's not a prof). Simple image emerges and it is described in a form of a question, that is the tittle of this thread. A: It threatens their very existence.

917  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie starting out where to invest $500 on: February 07, 2018, 08:46:59 PM
As the title suggest new to crypto, small investment of $500, which coins should I be looking to invest in?
Always make decisions while being backed by knowledge.
I could for example, turn your attention here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1883902.0 It showed very good resistance to recent plummet, probably because of its "hodl" nature(profitable to hold). This will change at some point, so you will need to keep an eye on it.
Make sure to study this proposition carefully and don't act to swiftly.
Second thing is to diversify, split your investment in few parts or at least two, considering 500$ is not to much.
If you hesitate, go with BTC it looks like a good moment for buying.
918  Economy / Economics / Re: The intrinsic fallacy on: February 07, 2018, 05:11:33 PM
Value is always attributed, never intrinsic!
From the top of my head:
House, livestock(cow etc), human life and I bet there will be much more stuff that can have some/any "value" on its own.
So I think your logic i a bit flawed there. However its not the point, you are considering this expression as literal meaning, where this is an actual terminology taken from economics and I'm not blaming you for being somewhat angry, fundamental value is the secondary name for it and it is a lot better/ more suiting. You can't blame people for using this name, just because some mathematician gave it awkward name.
It would be like being angry because of Hindu not being called Indians etc. It just is this way.

920  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: February 07, 2018, 03:17:04 PM
Is there actually a database or at least backup for this thread? An attacker could and would potentially delete the post here with the address and signature and it would after all be pointless to leave proof of BTC address in here.
There is no database, backup (not sure about web archives), nor any special storage for this thread.
And that's why users quote each others posts. Attacker can't (well can but its highly unlikely) hack multiple account at once, so your quoted post is relatively safe. If you get hacked, for example my account is still in my hands and your post with address and signature is like "written in stone" (attacker cant change it, only me). So as you can see, there some logic in this madness.
