901  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where would you invest $100? on: July 07, 2017, 09:50:48 AM
i recently invested in TEzos, the only ico that make sense to me now, the investment support is huge, so no reason to believe will fail, the first pump will be my exit with a good profit

i only invested 0.2 btc, because i don't like ico in any case, but this was a safe bet in my view, not gong to lose this chance, $100 is a bit too low for an investment, but i would suggest some good altcoin
902  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could Bitcoin price increase to $1 Million one day? on: July 07, 2017, 08:00:27 AM
very unlike but not impossible, it just need more exposure and adoption, we are in the correct track to reaching $10k, let's think about that first

then you have the 10k-100k range adn beyond if everything go well, with block issue and regulation but we need another decade at least, 2-3 block halving will help the value to grow

I think the better question is will be total market cap of all digital assets reach $20 trillion.

the main factor is bitcoin and ETH for that other coins does not matter, maybe tezos will be the new added one
903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin cannot replace currency in the world because price is not stable on: July 07, 2017, 07:53:15 AM
to the contrary of the popular belief the value recently is very stable, is as stable as you can have it, can not be more stable than that with a currency based on supply and demand

besides if you have trouble with this you can exchange asap to your currency when receive bitcoin, another thing is that if you use it as a currency you should not be worried much about the stability
904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC funds on exhange if hard fork happens on: July 07, 2017, 07:50:42 AM
probably the same but remember that value won't be the same pretty much like ETH and ETC, so you are not getting double of your investment

still it's unclear if they will listen the new fork or not, many exchange are on the fence now, they only support core
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block size isn't important on: July 07, 2017, 07:49:26 AM
you say it it's how many tx per secodn you can sustain, which is the point of having an additional space in the block size, but this isn't a good solution for solving the issue

because if we need more space we then need to fork again to increase it another time, we need a solution that can be conclusive for any numbers of TX we need to sustain

and LN isn't the only one, there was another proposal regarding the block like Extension block
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do altcoins effectivrly "dilute" the 21 million BTC limit? on: July 07, 2017, 05:46:54 AM
no because first of all you need bitcoin to buy most of the shitcoin out there, and therefore those altcoin are actually helping bitcoin to grow and not the opposite

the strongest coins can be bought directly with fiat but they are limited in numbers, also the money of that many shitcoin always return to bitcoin after the pump and dump end
907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: July 06, 2017, 01:30:53 PM

908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: July 06, 2017, 08:55:50 AM
Hahaha, good old spr... it is full of helium anyways so lets pump that nethash too.

Opensource:

750ti did what, 1.7MH = $1.5/ day?
970/1060 4-5MH = $5/ day? closer to 4MH $4/ day
980ti/ 1070 8-9MH = $8/ day? 6MH maybe $6/ day
1080 who knows?
1080ti 14-15MH = $15/ day? who knows?

Go mine those cheap coins... remember to sell in july.

Nethash is 8.59GH when I hit enter, will it rise?

16MH+ with 1080ti 20 intensity, with private of course

I've located a bug in Nexus sp-mod #6 on highend cards. I am working on a  free update in sp-mod #7.  ETA in the weekend.

yeah getting only 190MH with a 1080ti, should be 250MH at least
909  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Any recommendations for good exchange allowing deposit/withdraw fiat money? on: July 06, 2017, 08:54:19 AM
all i can say is kraken, but for non european may be not ideal, maybe if you can tell us from where are you from first

but anyway krkaen has the fastest withdrawals in sepa less than oen day, and the lowest fee for that, 0.09 euro

there is no verification required if you are not going to cash out more than $10k per month, and the volume is good, kraken was in top 5 exchange recently
910  Economy / Economics / Re: BITCOIN Flippening GOLD on: July 06, 2017, 08:52:10 AM
That won't happen until 1BTC equals 1kg or at least one pound of Gold. One Oz is not that much money after all (2500$ is a month's wage in the Western Hemisphere).
1 bitcoin = 1 kg worth of gold will never to be real, It means the bitcoin must be worthed over ten thousand dollars.

OP, Bitcoin is not flipping the gold. My thought if the bitcoin is different with the gold itself. The value of the gold depends on the how many weight of the gold itself. And bitcoin is not.

well it's not that unfeasible to have bitcoin worth $10k or more, will happen eventually in the near future

bitcoin is more rare than gold, and therefore the chance to have it with a better value is high

also gold will never grow more than that, gold is there in its stagnantion since ages...
911  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Consumption tax on Cryptocurrency? on: July 06, 2017, 08:49:48 AM
Quote
bitcoin is exempt from taxes in many country only in America they regulate it and tax it like no tomorrow
False.
The IRS has no direct interest in crypto coins as an asset and treat it the same as when investing in metals or other securities: Only when cashing out do they want taxes and that is only on the amount exchanged into fiat. At that point it become a matter of simple Capital Gains income.

As for the States, same applies but also Sales taxes on items paid for with BTC come into play. Then same as any mail order or internet purchase, when you file your State taxes each year you are supposed to list purchases and pay any State sales taxes due that were not collected at time of sale.

i was talking about that when you cash out you are taxed, in other country you are not taxed even if you cash out, that what i mean with my post, some country don't tax capital gain if you don't go above certain threshold

i know that taxation on bitcoin directly is not true in any country, but i remember that in the USA they even tax that in some cases, otherwise someone that want to buy an house with bitcoin, can evade taxes...
912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it even possible to regulate bitcoins? on: July 06, 2017, 08:46:31 AM
decentralization has nothing to do with the impossibility of regulating it, because in japan they are regulating it despite the nature of bitcoin

you can track every transaction with the blockchain more so if you are going to use your bitcoin to buy something on any phisical shop that accept it

these shop will report anything to their "IRS", so everything is transparent and regulated
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most likely outcome on August 1st ? on: July 06, 2017, 08:42:09 AM
worst case we end up with 3 chains which would be the death of the btc as we know it or have gotten to kno it

that isn't happening, first because exchange don't care about any other chain that is not core

second because one of the chain will be an altcoin, there can't be 3 chain of bitcoin ever

worst case you get a crash in price below $2k and a recover that's it
914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Good Reason to Own Some BTC on: July 06, 2017, 08:39:34 AM
this comparison doesn't make much sense you can also lose you know... your wallet and your bitcoin

the thing that matter is that you don't need to convert to local moneyw ith bitcoi, because it's a global currency

while with fiat you need to pay a fee for that
915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ladies and Gentlemen, Bitcoin is about to be Centralized on: July 06, 2017, 05:55:02 AM
i don't think they understand that soemthing like this would probably take an hard fork, which will never happen, because you can't access the data they want to access regularly, and there is no implementation of it in the code

therefore it's not feasible, another delusional dream from bankers and government, like the one of creating their own altcoin in the fiat-esque, with nothing more than added centralization, with the same purpose as the original fiat
916  Economy / Speculation / Re: Last 4 months of bitcoin on: July 05, 2017, 08:29:33 AM
one may think that we are heading to 1000 or sub value under that but, you need to account that bitcoin is not a pump and dump in the end, the value can only grow by average each year which is what is happening

maybe a little fast now, so probably a correction is needed, but it's undeniable that bitcoin final goal is to acquire value and not to lose it, and the current adoption premises are clearly saying that another increase is approaching
917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 2.0 - opensource - GPL (tpruvot) on: July 05, 2017, 08:24:59 AM
Hello everyone! I've been using alexis miner for a while and it gave me 1300 k/h on my gtx 1070 for neoscrypt Cool. Few days ago I bought two 1080 ti, and I find out that they do only 550 k/h with alexis miner. When I switch to tpruvot ccminer 2.0 I start getting 1000 k/h for 1070s and 1600 k/h for 1080ti. Is there any way to fix this abnormally low 1080 ti hash rate for alexis miner?  Huh

1080 and 1080ti have problems with like half the algos for Nvidia, which is why most people don't buy them.

half...again with this, it's like only 2 algo worth mentioning if there are other they are on shitcoin not worth mining
918  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Consumption tax on Cryptocurrency? on: July 05, 2017, 08:23:02 AM
bitcoin is exempt from taxes in many country only in america they regulate it and tax it like no tomorrow

australia also is exempting bitcoin from taxation https://cointelegraph.com/news/australia-will-recognize-bitcoin-as-money-and-protect-bitcoin-businesses-no-taxes

it must be said that we are talking about certain kind of tax like consumption tax, not every taxation, capital gain is still taxed...
919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Billions stolen from South Korean Bitcoin exchange on: July 05, 2017, 08:19:47 AM
I expected such great hack will drop the price for bitcoin and other crypto at the same time, but i don't see the price has changed. In the past such hackings affected exactly like that. What's the difference now?

Its small exchange, and the number of Bitcoin lost is not so big.

not at all it's not small it's the first exchange in the world by voluem go check coinmarketcap, 24 hours volume, it's ranked 1, but still the 300 btc amount is negligeable, and not worth mentioning

every day there are whales, that dump 1000 btc and they are worried for a tiny 300 btc, i think they are joking, the value is evne increased yesterday...
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: Rollout of 260,000+ Bitcoin-Accepting Stores in Japan Begins on: July 05, 2017, 08:16:38 AM
i'm wondering if with that massive adoption, japanese are fine with the current fee situation for bitcoin, i guess they ar enot using it other than buying expensive items on the web or in phisical store

otherwise it's onyl a myth that bitcoin can not get adopted because of high fee, i guess bitcoin can work fine for expensive stuff only and gather a big market and not a niche one like we believed in the past
