That is the beauty of Poker. You should not assume and go all in before seeing all the cards or bad things will happen just like losing all of your balance in a short term.I hope you will recover and be more patient in the upcoming games.
If you are not going with ALL-IN in such a situation, I thunk you will never get a big hand at all. I have been playing poker for a long time. Have never had profit but I can say that if I had a big amount on my hand, I would still not change my decision.

Perhaps, before you go all in, you need to make sure that you somehow have a good feeling of understanding the cards or basically memorizing the entire deck to lessen the probability of losing. I have known some people provided some advice on how we could win on poker, here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHK1OjglQDs

It's Maria Ho, considered one of the best poker player, well with that impressive performance, she's probably memorized the entire deck of cards.
None can save you if it's not your day, specially if it's poker or three cards game. I strongly believe anyone would go ALL-IN with a full house of AAAKK and guess what, there's four of a kind of KKKK which can ruin your party. Now if you don't go ALL-IN with the full house, I will take you as a very newbie.
922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: LIGHTNING NETWORK - what is happening, dead, stagnant? on: May 04, 2020, 12:51:57 PM
Most people yet don't know what Lightning Network is till now. Couple of days ago, I had started a discussion topic on one of our local facebook group on Lightning Network. Almost 90% of the people seems to be never heard about Lightning Network while some other who have heard about Lightning Network but don't have any idea what it is. Without implementation in common wallets like Electrum, LN will not be known to the public. Once Electrum implement it, things will be different.

About the question, I think a limit between 1k and 5k ONION would be good.
1K would be too low to be honest considering the current price, and so does the 5k. People who will consider to maintain such privacy would really not love to mix their coin a few hundred times to make them untraceable. That would force us to loss potential users of DeepOnion.
924  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Confused about fee on: May 03, 2020, 09:20:04 AM
there's also the probability the feerate will drop eventually.
The size of the current mempool has fallen from 67 MB to 26 MB in the last 24 hours, and we are currently confirming transactions with fees of 2 sat/vbyte and higher. There are still 8 MB of transactions at 2 sat/vbyte, but give it another 24 hours, and provided there is no big price swing which floods the mempool with transactions again, then I would expect Pffrt's 1 sat/vbyte transactions to confirm.
I was planning to bump the fee but luckily the mempool isn't that busy anymore. My tx has been confirmed today morning with that 1sat/byte. It has been a learning lesson for me that I didn't consolidate the input when I should. Thank all of you.

Just got ruined with AA on my hand. Other player played ALL-IN with AK without the flop was 10,J,8. The turn was 3, I went ALL-IN, the fucking river was Q, I was just ruined all of my fund in that board. Damn.
These are shitty spots and something you will run into. What sort of betsizing did you use on the Flop and Turn?? Considering it wasn't all in pre-flop you might have been able to fold them off their AK with larger bets... some people just don't fold and it AA can't always win.
Come on, I would have FOLD if I had to go through the flop and turn before ALL-IN. The other guy had ALL-IN with his AK in his first turn, it was before the flop. Since no flop is there, I followed him too and has gone ALL-IN, damn the card cheated with me  Cheesy

Thank you guys for suggesting the sites. I will be joining them soon and will try to give a review if I got enough time.
People do still hesitate on using LN for some other reason like still on development state or some sort.
Yeah but you know with recent fee increase, LN would get a huge attraction. I just feel hurt to use such high fee when I deposit in gambling sites.
Thread locked.

Limit is necessary because one can send very big amount and others may not have it in mixer and guarantor these amounts. The idea best way to hide is in the crowds (in the small transactions)...

Hi Team! there is new poll about exchanges you can vote and help us see which are the most popular DeepOnion exchange

https://deeponion.org/community/threads/which-deeponion-exchanges-do-you-use-recommend-poll.43686/
Thanks for that explanation, I didn't think in that way. We should have a limit of 5000 ONION, it's a fair amount for now. We can increase in future.
Regarding exchange, I think we have coindeal as the best however, it has KYC requirement. I would say bisq is the best now.
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What type of coin specifications do you have in mind that is unique or wanted? on: May 01, 2020, 01:12:09 PM
I would be happy to see such a coin with utility which will be used for all the transactions regarding the freelancing sector, in a word, all the freelancing sector will be using the utility coin. I know there are some such coins who claim to be utility coin but in reality they are not.
930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites with Lightning Network on: May 01, 2020, 01:02:40 PM
Is there any gambling site allowing Lightning Network? It has been a pain with the recent fee increase when it comes to deposit on gambling sites. Usually I gamble with low amount and if I lose all, I deposit again. I don't want to deposit big amount. If there's nay, recommend me. Would like to save the fee.

I have no idea about this and if there is, I would like to know. But instead, you can save not only BTC, but also platforms that accept altcoins. I usually prefer Ethereum as an example.
I do gamble with altcoin sometimes but not all the times. However, I'm particularly looking for BTC gambling platform because I don't have any surplus fund of altcoin to gamble, I mean all of my altcoins are investment and I don't want to touch them. Anyway, this thread is for discussion on Lightning Network based gamblibg platforms.

There are a few.
Thank you for the recommendations. I think people even don't know that they allow Lightning Network. They should have come up with more promotion.

New Vote for DeepSend
Hi Team Let's discuss the new DeepSend limit
I added a poll so you can vote. This can help dev team to decide on new DeepSend limit.

https://deeponion.org/community/threads/new-deepsend-limit-discussion-vote-poll.43681/
According to the pool, the suggested limit by you is 5000 ONION. If you don't mind, why not unlimited amount can be sent/received through DeepSend? Is there any limit in DeepSend itself or why the limit purpose is there? I would suggest unlimited amount, any amount anyone want to send/receive.
Limiting the amount will have some info when someone will try to trace the tx, for example if the limit is 5000, a tx with 5000 ONION might be defined as DeepSend tx which will not be good.

That's your account? You can try to recover your account by following the above linked thread.

My apologies for not posting on Meta, I realised as soon as I posted, and tried to ask for someone to move it there, but was foiled by the new account post timing limits. A tiny bit ironic I think.
You yourself can move the thread into meta for getting attention. Check below of this thread and you will get the opt to move the thread.

  • How long are you prepared to wait
  • Was the tx opt-in rbf
  • Do you mind "gambling" on the probability of the fee decreasing in the near future
1. No hurry to be honest unless I see BTC to $15k  Cheesy However, that's the reason for my consolidation of inputs.
2. Yes it was rbf. I will wait till the fee decrease or replace fee only if btc hit above $15k.
3. Yes.
However, I was not in hurry and this thread was to learn thwwhat possibility can be done.Thank you.
935  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Confused about fee on: April 30, 2020, 03:13:27 PM
Thanks o_e_l_e_o, I can't share the details due to privacy reason. As I said, I had 14 input which I combined to one.

o_e_l_e_o is 100% correct about a CPFP, you do have other options tough:

  • It's a transaction consolidating your unspent outputs, so you have the private key to re-spend those 14 unspent outputs AND you have the private key for the address that was funded by the stuck transaction. If there isn't a case of urgency, you can always wait untill the transaction drops from the mempool of most nodes, then double-spend those 14 unspent outputs. This can take up to 2 weeks, and the odds are that by then the average fee is even higher
  • You can do a rbf, in case the tx was opt-in rbf
  • You can pay a big mining pool to include your transaction into the next block they solve (viaBTC is known to do this)
  • o_e_l_e_o has already explained CPFP
  • You can also get the raw tx and keep rebroadcasting it... Sooner or later the average fee will decrease and if you kept rebroadcasting the tx every couple of days, sooner or later it'll end up in a block

There is a financial difference between the options, aswell as a difference in wait time untill confirmation, aswell as a technical difficulty difference.
I don't want to bump the fee because I don't want to use higher fee for all the 14 inputs which will turn into a bug amount which I don't want to pay. That's why I combined all of them into one input now.
936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Confused about fee on: April 30, 2020, 01:33:40 PM
I was too lazy to consolidate some of my inputs when the fee was too low, around 1sat/byte but now I nees to consolidate. I used 1 sat/byte which isn't going to be confirmed soon. Now I want to send the consolidated input (which I used 1sat/byte and unconfirmed still). Will it be confirmed if I use 100 or 200 sat per byte? Since my input now will be 1, total fee will also be lower. Will it be confirmed or I need to use more higher fee for confirming the previous tx as well.

https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/

The fastest transaction fee to be accepted in first block is currently 88 satoshis/byte
I know that but I'm confused if I use the current fee for my unconfirmed tx (it was around 14 inputs which I made 1 input with 1 sat/per byte, still unconfirmed), will the previous tx be confirmed too? For your info, I had to use a lot of fees for the 14 inputs in total if I were to use the current fee. That's why I sent with 1sat/oer byte and combined all the input into one.
937  Other / Archival / Re: Let's talk Texas Holdem poker hands and how to play like a PRO? on: April 30, 2020, 01:30:55 PM
I was unlucky yesterday. Didn't capture a screenshot though. I had A,8 on my hands while on the table, it was A,8,3,6 till the fourth. Since nothing higher card was possible in general (it could be, could be three of a kind which I took risk), the fifth card was 10 which ruined me. The other hand had A,10. I always got screwed with the fifth.

939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much have you earned in one year on: April 30, 2020, 01:04:26 PM
I thought you were referring to trading income, I was wrong. I don't think many bounty hunter was able to earn a good amount as we saw very few successful project last year. On the other hand, there was some good signature campaign last year from which I earned around 0.20 BTC.
940  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The halving Gusto on: April 30, 2020, 12:46:07 PM
As a matter of fact halving may not have any impact on Bitcoin price, there is no big deal with halving, even price don't surge after halving happened in the past years, I don't know why people are making stupid decisions because of the upcoming Bitcoin halving
Halving has a significant affect on bitcoin price if you think technically. The rewards will be halved, so the supply from the miners will be halved. Miners need to sell btc always because of maintaining their cost. So, the total supply will be decreased which will create more inequality in demand/supply which in short time possibly create significant price pump. This is both the technical and theoretical explanation why people speculate halving may increase the btc price.
