921  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Bitcointalk post maximum text lines/character length? on: September 28, 2017, 10:49:12 PM
Found this one:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2054766.0  ( I put in google: "post length limit site:bitcointalk.org" )
922  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: suggest software to follow stock- and coin prices. on: September 28, 2017, 08:32:59 PM
I like tabtrader (android) ....  supports lot of exchanges.
923  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Too good to be true on: September 28, 2017, 07:46:05 PM
Contacted via PM, received link and can see they are selling SP50  (claiming they have them in stock )  ... it's definitely scam.
Stay away.
924  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: are our word phrases safe from dictionary attacks? on: September 28, 2017, 06:15:42 PM
thanks trump,

this sounds good to me.
one thing, if i got it right you are calculating the time to hack one specific wallet.
along the way another random wallet should open first, right?

From the opposite point of view. Take the "100/number of possibilities" and you have the percentual chance hitting already used wallet.
925  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why positive trust is important? on: September 28, 2017, 05:50:27 PM
It's not important. I would say it's rather convenient.
Without positive trust you will be asked to escrow (when making some deals you will receive funds after counterparty receive the goods).
With pos. trust is a chance the counterparty will send funds directly to you.

Here is an example:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/6j1j8h/what_the_hell_bittrex_10_deposit_fee/

People complaining for 10%. I was wrong with the 25%. Misread yesterday.
So my questions were : Are these hidden fees in bitstamp and bittrex really present? Is there a way to avoid them, or to understand them? Or since others mentioned other websites, are those different?

This specific case is about sending quite small amount 0.1 ETH, with 0.01 fee ( I'm not experienced with ETH transfers much so can't say this is regular fee ) and I agree it looks terrible.

True is cryptos are not very suitable for such small transactions. You would most likely transfer e.g 1000 ETH using the same fee but you are correct when saying this is hidden fee ( you can't be sure how much untill you try it).

It's like the smaller amount is being send the fee percentage grows (sending 0.01 ETH would cost you 100%) and you should count with that.
927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One more critic for Bitcoin. on: September 28, 2017, 12:01:12 AM
I'm not surprised of such wording at all. It's part of standard hassle among competitors ( throwing dirt at each other trying to sustain own bussines at all cost).
But what I found hillarious is was the specific "bitcoin is fraud"  Grin ... seriously?
How about the current monetary system (with the famous fractional reserve system ) ... this is not fraud?

I think the answer would be something like: No it's not fraud because such system is allowed by authorities. In other words: It's government supported fraud.
Question is: which one (of the frauds) is worse?
928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency exchanges on: September 27, 2017, 09:41:02 PM
First time hearing about such fees. Really 25% ?  That sound ridiculous. Can you share the source?

I have good experience with kraken, bittrex and poloniex (bittrex and polo does not support fiat).
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can maths help you win in gambling ? on: September 27, 2017, 08:40:28 PM
Actually your loss is mathematically bound (house edge) and only you can do is try to apply math to mitigate the chance of loss (but you will never eliminate it).
930  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitco.in - is it even worth it? on: September 27, 2017, 08:22:22 PM
i'm giving up on this site. Undecided
You have to input a captcha every hour.
It wouldn't even be worth wasting as what you earn from the ammount is waaaaay to low.
I don't get why one needs to do captcha when you have to wait for an hour.
An imacro script to run for 1 hour could hurt ?

For me, it’s very comfortable because I can play from my mobile. So, when I check my WhatsApp messages, I play, as long as an hour has passed.

Almost 173.000 satoshis is not bad for having started around the 20th of June. In addition, playing that free game is totally EV+: you win a small amount of satoshis but there are higher prices. I even got once the third highest price. I will keep playing because I know that in the long-term I will get first and second prices, worth 200$ and 20$ respectively. Apart from that they give you free tickets for a lottery, which is also EV+, reward points and interest.

What usually happens is that people get impatient and they bet their small amount of satoshis in EV- games, most of the times losing everything.

Forgive my ignorance here, but what is EV+/EV-?

Assuming the EV stands for "expected value" I think he marks EV+ to be profitable games and EV- non profitable ones. (like all faucets can be EV+ because you don't risk any own funds and all casino games are EV- due to house edge)

Not sure tho.

It's so funny to see scammers to post about the same crap/fake scheme and try to convinse ppl to join.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2206079.0

Idk that you have some kind of...contest who will attract more fish in his bag. Pathetic...

Yep, to me this entire board is funny. There is not a single non-hyip topic (well, there are but it's vast minority).
Might this board should be renamed to SHOUT OUT LOUD ABOUT DOUBTFUL SCHEMES  Grin
933  Other / Meta / The topic is too large to fit on one page ? on: September 27, 2017, 07:34:11 PM
Recently I get this warning when try to see entire topic (using print function). Weird is I'm getting this message when printing e.g 30 page topic (which is not that much). I'm pretty sure I have printed topics with 100+ pages in past without issues.

Whats wrong? Has anything changed last days?
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Poll]what is the right warning to say to someone who gambles/invests all he has on: September 27, 2017, 07:26:55 PM
It also depends on what is the aim.
1-Gamble to get rich or 2-gamble just for fun (the first option is reallly bad approach and usually ends wrong, making more people homeless rather than rich).

Nevertheless for both suits the well known "gamble what you can afford to lose" but I also consider important to pinpoint that gambling can be very addictive.
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: (New) altcoins trading: which desktop wallet and exchanger? on: September 27, 2017, 05:57:08 PM
Exchanges: poloniex, bittrex , cryptopia, kraken, bitstamp, okcoin, bitfinex ...

There is no 100% universal wallet. For major altcoins I use ledger HW wallet and for others coinomi (android).
936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: trying to create same web as localbitcoins/paxful, got problem help pls on: September 27, 2017, 05:30:02 PM
If you are asking such questions, you are not eligible to run such service.
Just some hint: bitcoin full node
937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Step to make some Bitcoin. on: September 27, 2017, 04:10:03 PM
Half BTC in one month is more than double the average salary in my country and it's not easy to earn such amount. But given your twitter has 8k followers it could be possible.

Lurk around Games and rounds and Bounties (Altcoins) boards ... there is pleny giveaways and promo actions.
Or just use google to search this forum (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=twitter+bounty+site%3Abitcointalk.org)

938  Other / Meta / Re: Bot? Spammer? RIDICULOUS! on: September 27, 2017, 07:02:03 AM
Only you can do is to use "Report to moderator" link in their OP and try to describe the situation ( good to mention that not only that post but entire users is spammer).
Then it's up to mods to decide whether to ban the user.
939  Economy / Securities / Re: trusted btc invest site?? on: September 27, 2017, 03:29:55 AM
I believe a good invesment is in casino bankroll ( see my signature for more details ).  Alternatively I trust bw.com & freebitco.in with their interest wallets.
