921  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Theymos: What the fuck is up with BFL and TradeFortress? on: May 20, 2013, 09:27:44 PM
I think the thing with tradefortress is pretty obvious.  He said here is a debt in a system I do not agree with.  I will not pay it.  I do not see how he can be scammer tagged for that.  He could have 'sold' false debt or otherwise made real promises and that would get him a scammer tag.  He did not do that.

923  Economy / Goods / Re: Possible Airplane for Sale ~1500 BTC = Very Nice Single Engine 4 Seat Bo on: May 20, 2013, 03:07:17 AM
I am currently in discussions with what I see is a valued member of this forum to assist in verifying I am not blowing smoke, also if you are interested see if John K will somehow faciliate the transfer that will be acceptable.  Again I am not interested in your 1 BTC but just getting enough info so I can tell youre not blowing smoke (yes I will be calling you to check) prior to telling John K to release or me resending you your BTC if you choose that option.

At a minimum you must provide:
Model
Year
Engine hours
Airframe hours
Propeller hours
Condition paint/interior
State registered
Avionics

This will all be provided upon verification, also pictures, an older youtube video from prior salesperson, along with my name, address and telephone number, also online contact info, as this deal will need to be down in person with owner.  After that if you are interested log books and such.

This is just a joke, you only speak about your comission and how rich are you going to be after selling the plane... but you're not caring about the customer, no photos, no specs, no nothing.

And of course with 10% fee.  Huh

The 10% fee will cover Bitpay, the commission I would get (just like a home realtor - standard practice in aircraft brokage), and him an extra % on top of planes cost for doing Bitcoins.

Remember not all people are against Fiat and the Federal Government.  Some just look at BTC as another diversification in their portofolio.

If you want to pay cash (check once cleared) again that is preferred and there would not be a 10% fee, just straight cash homey.
Makes no sense.  Cash no fee then where do you get your commission?  The cost of taking BTC to USD is 1%, not 5%, 10% or whatever.  Just be honest, say you are taking X fee on top of the price.

Are you worried that someone will try to buy the plane directly from the seller?  Have a contract or understanding (if you trust the owner) that you get paid if you sell it.  But you should be able to publish the model of the plane, being worried about the risk of someone finding the owner indicates something is fishy.
924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Identity of Satoshi Nakamoto is known on: May 20, 2013, 12:16:26 AM

Not to mention business experience to structure a First Adopter Ponzi scheme.

For meanings of "Ponzi scheme" that are incorrect.  Go to a dictionary and look ok Ponzi. Bitcoin does not even resemble a Ponzi scheme.
925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Identity of Satoshi Nakamoto is known on: May 19, 2013, 11:01:54 PM
This guy apparently has zero programming experience.

Who said he actually wrote the program? He might have worked with a couple of other people to make Bitcoin.
Might?   He is not Satoshi.  Satoshi may be more than one person of course.

We have money. So we don't need anymore.

You are off to a bad start already. Nice.
927  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Thinking about building a cheap rig on: May 19, 2013, 07:17:51 PM
My 7850 mines 402 Kh/s - I think it is very good card in relation to money and power! 100 Kh more than 7790 and price is about the same!

I agree. 7850 or higher. 7950 preferred.  The better cards will have higher resale value.
928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [wts] white litecoin shirt $18 shipped USA on: May 19, 2013, 05:41:45 PM
That shirt is pretty awesome man, could you make a Franko one!? and Do you accept crypto for payment?

Franko?  I have not heard of that one.  I can do a pre-order for anything so long as you supply the art and the coin.  I will take BTC or LTC.

929  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DO NOT BUY GPUs to mine! You will not get your money back! on: May 19, 2013, 05:38:33 PM
All I can say is that when I sell my GPU's I am getting almost what I paid for them after a year or more of mining.  I have sold 5970's for more then I paid for them, including recent sales over $350 with an original cost of $329 (new).  If you buy and sell GPU's carefully you will do fine even now.  Today the card to buy is 7950's, especially if you can get them used, rebated or discounted.

With no display or buttons the functionality is not going to be as good as an android app or as safe as a paper wallet.  This needs a computer/phone to be useful, why not just use a USB stick type device instead?

How long are these?  Do you have x16s?

I have sold out of my x16's and new ones are at least two weeks away for me.

The 1 to 16 cables I have in stock are about 14 cm long.

BTC only method of payment?

Yes.  BTC for automated checkout.  I could take LTC as well manually.

Most of us have voted that he does what he wants with them.  I do not see how having him move them is beneficial to anyone.  They could be destroyed and will never move.  If he does move them, I vote that he sends them here:

937  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama was the best thing that ever happened to the USA in a long time... on: May 17, 2013, 04:14:06 AM
Both dominant political parties in the US are so close together on a political scale that they are indecipherable from each other.

Agreed.  Both are bought and paid for, just by slightly different groups of people.
938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How you will pay for Bitcoin network access services in the future on: May 17, 2013, 04:07:34 AM
I think Gavin has alluded to possibly rewarding those who run full nodes, which I think is the way to go. I don't see any reason why miners should get rewarded, yet those who run full nodes and eat the bandwidth/disk space get nothing.

When running a node becomes expensive enough that people can't do it for free you'll still be able to find full nodes willing to accept incoming connections. You'll pay for that service in a variety of ways:

1) Transaction fees: You connect directly to a miner who lets you do so because they want your transaction fees. They may require some # of transactions per unit time, and part of the agreement may be that you only send transactions to them. (easily verified) In return they'll run your bloom filter against incoming blocks, although don't be surprised if they force you to give them a bloom filter specific enough to identify exactly what addresses are in your wallet as part of the deal.

2) Pay-for-service: You pay for the service directly. In return they resend your transactions to miners to get them mined, possibly with preferential deals (kickbacks) that may or may not be public knowledge. They also run your bloom filter against the blockchain, and again, they may or may let you do so in a non-specific manner. Given AML regulations I wouldn't be surprised if the services that operate out in the open only allow you to tell them what addresses you are interested rather than a bloom filter obscuring that information. (AML rules apply to case #1 too)

3) Datamining: Google and other search engines already provide a lot of services purely in return for the data they can gather. The blockchain itself is a rich source of transaction data, made richer by figuring out the real identities behind the pseudonymous addresses on it. Just like #1 and #2 if you can determine who is sending what transactions and owns what addresses you can integrate that into a rich dataset to do things like get real-world information on what vendors are actually popular, which in turn can feed search engine results and other services.

It'll be interesting to see how AML regulations apply to all these services in the future. I suspect they'll eventually be subject to the same know-your-customer rules as any other financial service provider to help authorities link identities to Bitcoin addresses. This doesn't have to be very intrusive: in case #3 that might be as simple as using your Google login to authenticate with Google's Bitcoin servers.

Since running a node will not be hard for someone with infrastructure, small companies (like mine) could run one and just give it out to customers few or no strings attached.  Even if it cost $100 a month it would be good advertising and a customer perk that spread out over many customers really costs almost nothing.

Enthusiasts could also just run a node for family and friends.  I have seen people spend thousands of dollars on gaming PC's, spending $1000 for good hardware for a full node will not be a problem for people into it.
939  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Using a riser for older mobos? on: May 16, 2013, 09:55:35 PM
Nice!

I got an ASUS M2N-E with only 1 PCI-E X16 running a 5830 and i'm thinking about using a riser (x4 to x16 i guess) and add a 6950

Received my risers.. and tried to add the 5850 card .. Windows don't like it.. it's listed as :"unknown device"  in devide manager..
and i tried to reinstall drivers, and even short the pci-e bus pins .. dunno what to do to make it work.. Sad

I have found that some older boards just don't like to see newer video cards 58xx and higher.  They would work with a 54xx card and be fine but that would be near pointless for mining.
