921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Prelim Qualifiers on: August 15, 2023, 03:25:36 PM
All 2nd leg games is played oday, as Wednesday is reserved for UEFA Super Cup. Except Dinamo Zagreb - AEK, it will be their 1st game. Marseille - Panathinaikos will be very interesting game as PAO have 1:2 advantage from 1st game. I expect that Marseille will solve their problems, but odds for their win is a bit low. Haven't checked yet, but I will look at Marseille to qualify odds. Not sure that Servette can eliminate Rangers after loss in 1st leg. My prediction here is BTTS. Galatasaray seems to start getting pace (though they had draw in Turkish league) and I think that it will be high scoring game, so, I go with over 2.5 goals. Braga is almost in next round, but I put money on their win against Backa Topola - it's simply just different level teams. And some money on Maccabi Haifa against Slovan, but I don't write-off Slovan.

The most important question is, can Klaksvik make it to the final playoff?  Grin  They've already made history becoming the first Faroese team to make the group stage of any competition...i think they are more than capable of squeezing a draw against Molde.  It's hard not to root for them...
I think it's possible, in 1st leg they played well and their win wasn't just luck. Klaksvik to qualify @3.10 looks like good option, maybe it's worth to put some money on them. Offcourse, they're not favorites, but same situation was against Ferencvaros and Hacken.
922  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canada censoring the internet? on: August 15, 2023, 12:03:04 AM
I'm not from Canada, so, I'm not famikiar with that specific case, but in general, such things happening all around the world. From what I saw, usually low quality websites which publish lot of fakes or conspiracy theories is getting blocked. IMO, that's not right way to fight against fake news, especially when mainstream media isn't much better in terms of quality and reliability.
I doubt that any Western country is going to turn on full China mode anytime soon, but trends doesn't looks good.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: August 14, 2023, 11:52:39 PM
So, now after almost month of competition we reached semifinals. And we starting with Sweden - Spain. I think it's pointless to look for favorite there. Both is high quality teams, what we already saw in previous rounds. Bookmakers giving some advantage to Spain, but you can't understimate Sweden - team that kicked out USA. They weren't favorites against Japan too.
I would prefer to see Spain in the final. It would be interesting to see what odds for this game you guys have.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2023/24 on: August 14, 2023, 11:44:02 PM
First round was very interesting and difficult for main contenders. Boavista win against Benfica is probably main upset. After Musa from Benfica god red card and score become 1:1 few minutes later, things didn't looked good for Benfica. They managed to take a lead again, but Boavista didn't gave up. Score become 2:2 on 90 minute and when it already looked that it will be final score, Boavista caught Benfica on counter attack, Bozenik scoring his 2nd goal.
Porto win was difficult, but it was different kind of game. Moreirense scored their only goal with 1 shot on target in total.
925  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "The Significance of Independence Day: 14 August Independence day of Pakistan ' on: August 14, 2023, 03:44:58 PM
Congratulations with your country independence day! But do we really nned such kind of topics here in Repuation or Meta boards? IMO, it doesn't belong there, probably Politics & Society would be better place for it. But I don't think it would be great idea if everyone would start making topics about their country independence days.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 13, 2023, 11:28:51 PM
Don't know what is @Colorpoll54 name on Bitcointalk, but he simply delivering on 1st round - so far he got right outcomes of all 9 games so far, including 4 exact scores. He have great chance to get right predictions of all 10 games, it happens very rarely in EPL.

OK, so today, just watched my first game -- and I guess we're all going to have to get used to all that extra time. 10+ minutes for the first half unheard of, but personally, I think it's great if it reduces time-wasting and simulation. I would prefer if teams who did it were punished by refs to give that extra time only if the opponent needs it (and if the team guilty is losing, they blow regular).

It seems excessive at the moment. 20+ mins per game mean almost 15 extra "matches" over the season!
I expressed my opinion in other thread and I don't really like new regulations. I understand that this is how things should be handled with wasted time, but it makes games a bit too long for me. As you said, with 20 minutes added per game, clubs will get quite a lot ''full games'' in whole season. I doubt they're happy about it when they already have such intensive calendar. I think that risk of injuries can increase too.
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: August 13, 2023, 11:02:03 PM
So, Barca dropped points already in 1st round, 0:0 with Getafe. It was such dirty game and Rapinha gave up to one of provocations, getting stupid red card. Speaking about attack - it lloked like I was watching previous season game...
What I hate is new regulations of additional time, something as we saw in World Cup. 10 added minutes in 1st half and 14 in 2nd half - 24 minutes in total. When big teams havesuch intensive calendar and then they have over 20 minutes added in each game, we shouldn't be surprised if number of injuries will increase.

I'm not sure how many correct and close scores are normal but my start is pretty lousy. Out if 4sixgames I have only one close guess which earned me 1.5 points. I won't give up, that's for sure but I guess that this competition is for folks that follow football more closely than me.
Most of us have difficult start, but I wouldn't say that we havd lot of upsets so far. Probably only Valencia win can be called as big upset. There was many 50/50 games without favorite, most of players decided to go with home team or draw and it wasn't right pick. Betis scoring late goal against Villarreal was painful for me, I had 1:1 on this game.

@LTU_btc : sorry mate. It could have been a draw on this round if it wasnt because of Brighton but hey on the bright side, we are both still on the bottom of the league together so cheers to both of us  Roll Eyes We both still have pretty long way to go for sure if we want to stay at division 1 for the next season
Congrats, mate! Painful loss, but I have to accept it. It seems that my decision to go against Real was stupid. It's not first time this season when I risk with bald predictions and it cost me a lot. But here I was biased - I'm Barca fan and I expected that Bilbao capable to take points from Real.
I'm out of cup already, so, going into week break with bad mood.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Bundesliga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: August 12, 2023, 11:29:36 PM
I'm not sure how I managed to get so confused and thought that Bundesliga begins this weekend and I even made prediction for 1st round games Cheesy.
Back to Super Cup, maybe Harry Kane bring bad luck to Bayern from Spurs Cheesy? Seriously, I didn't even expected that we wil be ready to play today. Anyway, he was released when game outcome was basically decided. Bayern today gave lot of flashbacks from last season and it gives hope that we will have interesting season.
930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2023/24 on: August 12, 2023, 11:21:55 PM
Sporting today had very powerful start against Vizela when they were up 2:0 just after 15 minutes, there was just 1 minute between their 2 goals. It looked that game outcome was decdided already. But then in 2nd hald Vizela responded with 2 goals in 2 minutes. Sporting still managed to win game after Paulinho goal on 98 minute.
Other clubs from Big 32 will begin their season on Monday, both away, Porto against Morerirense and Benfica vs Boavista.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: August 12, 2023, 03:33:05 PM
Both 1/4 final games today were really exciting. Maybe Australia - France wasn't most beautiful, 120 minutes without goals, but penalty shootout was amazing. I preferred to see France going to semifinal, but after all, happy for Australia and all people who support them.
Colombia joyrney ended today. They were underdogs and achieved more than anyone expected. And even today, they gave good fight for England. It's bad for them that they didn't managed to keep lead for a bit longer, that would give more pressure for England.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: August 12, 2023, 03:23:14 PM
Valencia started season with an away win over Sevilla, on a hard to beat pitch, with a late goal, is it annonucing a better season for us or what?

looking forward to better Valencia that is fighting for Europe under Baraja

Real is set in Bilbao tonight, will be interesting, Real has wins in a row in La Liga there, time to miss one?
Initially it was really boring game, especially 1st half, but 2nd was better, especially ending of game. Valencia impressed me, not sure about their chances fighting for Europe, but at least they shouldn't fight to avoid relegation this season. Sevilla squad on paper doesn't looks bad, but it was poor game for them. I expect that they will be destroyed by City in UEFA Super Cup.
Looking forward to see Athletic making upset against Real today.
P.S. Damn, we have 27 players in pool this year, it's way better than I expected Smiley. It"s going to be interesting.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: August 11, 2023, 03:20:59 PM
Seems that my doubts about Legia turned into reality. Despite being favoured by bookmakers, they lost to Austria Wien at home 1:2. There is few teams that already have guaranteed spot in next round after huge wins in first game. It's Ferencvaros, Adana Demirspor and Brugge. AZ Alkmaar scored just 1 goal against Santa Coloma, but probably it can be justified as season just begins for them. Partizan situation is complicated now after loss away 0:2 against Sabah.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: August 10, 2023, 09:31:21 PM
It's safe to say that Sheriff is already in next round after win 5:1 against BATE. I didn't expected that it will be so easy. Same thing about Zrinjski after 6:2 win. Impressive performance in 1st half with 5 goals scored. Breidabik scored 2 in 2nd half, but it doesn't change anything.
As expected, Slavia didn't had much problem against Dnipro-1 and won 3:0. They even scored 3rd goal having 10 men on pitch.
Hacken achieved confident win against Zalgiris away 1:3. It was poor game of Zalgiris, but even without playing well they had enough good chances that they wasted, as usual. Late goal that Zalgiris scored keeps them some hope.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: August 10, 2023, 07:33:40 PM
We are already in the final stretch of the women's world championship.

In the quarterfinals we have:
SPAIN vs NETHERLANDS
JAPAN vs SWEDEN
AUSTRALIA vs FRANCE
ENGLAND vs COLOMBIA

I selected the teams that I think have the best chances of reaching the semi-finals. In your opinion, who do you think will win in the quarterfinals?

My prediction that we will see only European teams in semifinal. I know that Sweden aren't favorites against Japan, but IMO it's very similar level teams and extra time and penalties is likely scenario too.
But there was so many upsets already that I have no idea what to expect from 1/4 finals.
It's too bad that Spain - Netherlands will start at 4:00 AM local time for me. It should great game and it's sad that I will have to miss it. I will follow Japan - Sweden game at work.
936  Other / Meta / Re: Whats your take on adding 2FA key as a Bitcointalk account security features. on: August 10, 2023, 07:21:59 PM
When you can prove authenticity by signing a message from any of your old/staked bitcoin address. why bother having 2FA? Learn to sign message if you are worried about account comprising.
Signing a message from staked address is solution of issue when account already got compromised. But until case with your account will be resolved, hacker can make significant damage for you. While having 2FA would be prevention that such things wouldn't happen.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2023/24 on: August 10, 2023, 07:13:24 PM
Super Cup final was interesting, especially some last minutes of game. Benfica were up 2:0 and when Pepe got red card, it looked that's the for Porto. Just few moments later Galeno scored fantastic goal, but it was cancelled because there was handball in early phase of attack. I was disappointed about it because that goal would made last minutes of game very exciting, but rules are rules.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: August 10, 2023, 03:26:17 PM
We reached stage when there is basically no no-name teams remaining, so it probably makes betting on it a bit easier. Few my bets for today.
Besiktas ML against Neftch @1.60, Rosenborg - Hearts - over 2.5 goals, Ferencvaros ML @.160 vs Spartans, Twente - Riga FC over 2.5 goals @1.67 and Rijeka ML against B36 Torshavn. I'm a bit afraid to go against team from Faroe Islands which are playing at home, but after all, they're not Klaksvik.
Not sure why Legia is so clearly favoured against Austria Wien.

Partizan plays first Conference league qualifier this season, against Sabah from Azerbeijan, should be passable, but not sure with our current form
it is early termin, odds for Partizan win are solid, but would not take it today
I saw a bit of Sabah in previous round, they looked quite solid team, it should be difficult for Partizan. In general, Partizan is favorite in this pair, but I wouldn't count of them on away game.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: August 10, 2023, 03:09:53 PM
There is 6 Europa league qualifiers games played today. 3 games were played on Tuesday and Wednesday. Results of it - Astana 2:1 Ludogorets, AEK Larnaca 1:1 Maccabi Tel Aviv and Gent 5:0 Pogon.
Probably most interesting game is Olympiacos - Genk. I go with BTTS here. Also, going with Sheriff and Qarabag ML's. Slavia is quite heavy favoriteagainst Dnipro-1. Over 2.5 goals looks like safe option, though odds isn't high.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Prelim Qualifiers on: August 09, 2023, 09:36:56 PM
Panathinaikos made little surprise by winning against Marseille. Quite big factor who helped them was Kondogbia second yellow card in 2nd half, but even before that Marseille didn't looked impressive. Nothing surprising about that - it was first official game for them this season.
Rangers won against Servette, but 2:1 result isn't something very confident. 2nd leg game should be interesting.
Maccabi Haifa took a 1:2 win against Slovan away, it's serious step to playoff round.
