Da lo mismo lo que imponga el Estado, la gente igual podrá usar Bitcoin, y el inteligente sabrá mantener el bajo perfil.
Lo de la adopción "orgánica" es lo que viene ocurriendo en todo el mundo, hay países que regulan pero no quiere decir que todos van a seguir la regulación. Todo Español debe declarar, pero el Estado Español no tiene forma de detectar wallets no registradas, basta con usar algo como tails. El mismo caso en Bolivia donde está completamente prohibido.
Pero los políticos viven en el pasado así que no es de extrañar oposición a algo que no entiende, o en algunos casos entienden y correctamente saben que está quitando poder al Estado. Y no lo digo por la ley, lo digo por el simple hecho de que se está impulsando la adopción.
El efecto neto global es positivo, no negativo. Bitcoin no puede fallar con o sin interferencia del Estado. En mi criterio, la oposición no le importa nada en realidad mas que oponerse por razones políticas. El punto es que el Salvador usa el dólar estadounidense, y ahora además va usar Bitcoin. No es que están perdiendo su moneda nacional, ya eso se perdió.
Internacionalmente el efecto es muy positivo, con muchas inversiones entrando en El Salvador que se muestra "amigable" a Bitcoin, y el efecto en otros países sobre la necesidad de no mirar a Bitcoin de forma tan hostil.

La manera tan viral de como Binance trata de apoderarse de todo es muy peligrosa. Tienen una forma muy desesperada de captar clientes.
Para mi es que secretamente están haciendo prácticas de reserva fraccionaria, y sin ser banco nadie les audita...
Es una bomba de tiempo.
Nunca se les olvide, el CEO de Binance propuso hacer un ataque a Bitcoin del 51% luego que le robaron unos 82 millones de dólares hace unos años. No lo hizo gracias al entonces CEO de Bitmain, pero hubiera llevado a la quiebra su empresa.
Y tras ese incidente ahora mágicamente tienen pool, y absorben liquidez viralmente por todas partes... ¿Que pasará la próxima vez?
Es que no quiero ni pensarlo, esta compañia no es de fiar.

when I replaced the PIC firmware with Pickit 3, one board have a different voltage than another two, and Asic power off. This part is worrisome. We have seen people that mysteriously have the eeprom configured for a different model, and each model uses different voltages and speeds. Braiins OS+ catches this (and you can manually force the correct model), not sure about factory fw or mods. Of course people wouldn't be messing with that if they hadn't their eeproms corrupted in the first place... Fortunately Braiins OS+ never ever writes those, but it reads for model identification and if there is a discrepancy the log shows an error and won't hash. You absolutely cannot mix hashboards from a different model, so maybe the other fw is panicking and (correctly) refusing to work. |

In Braiins OS the logs may have a line that says x voltage requested, y given.
Also for nicehash you have to use sha256asicboost urls, not sha256.
I would also try Autotuning enabled and the lowest power limit.
Remember, with Autotuning enabled, none of the manual settings (speed/voltage) apply.

Well, I'm not up to reporting it as a bug, but even with *every* "Do not tune" option off, it still wants to shut down boards in the name of "tuning". When I run the boards at say 400mhz they will run at much slower hashrates even than what is "expected" (the nominal hashrate). This is enough to trip the tuner that runs every 30 minutes By chance I just happened to read this thread, and I'm forwarding this info to the devs, thank you for your valuable feedback  |

Braiins OS+ doesn't control the hashrate, it controls the power used. Within this power limit, the resulting hashrate will vary according to the state of each chip, finding the most efficient solution. Absolutely different to whatever any modder does. Yes, you could change this power usage at will. If you stop the mining, only some power from fans and the control board is in use, which is about 30W for S17. Bitmain PSUs had? a hidden feature to turn them on and off if you solder a couple of wires to a switch, not sure about recent models but check this: https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012411694-Introduction-to-APW3-  Gently remove the resistor (if there is) on the signal point "-" and "ON". After removing, lead the wire to each point (in total you would need two wires), connect the wire to your remote device and the PSU can be switched on or off remotely. |

I'm not going to say that Bitcoin will never switch to PoS, the future can be very unpredictable. There were people thought that Internet is just a fad and won't get any traction. But currently such switch seems to be very unlikely and the overall probability is very low, because Bitcoin's main goal is maintaining decentralization and PoS is against it. But maybe Bitcoin community will change after many years and will be more accepting of introducing centralization, or maybe some improved versions of PoS will be invented that will be more decentralized and attack-resistant. But PoW works well enough, so there must be some strong reason to seek to replace it.
Bitcoin will never switch to PoS. If you want to play with that, you can go to the altcoins and see how it goes, good luck. If i wanted centralization, i would stick to fiat. I have some bolivares for you, bet you want to live earning those instead?. It has only lost 14 zeroes in 13 years. Its already worst than classic textbook example of hyperinflation: Germany post WWI (lost 12 zeroes in 10 years). Many altcoins have centralization AND inflation built in, because they can't bother to read Austrian economics. So they exist under a flawed model, in other words, its more of the same. Digital fiat with all its flaws and then some. CBDCs or so called "stable" altcoins which are just pegged doing fractional reserve practices without the pesky regulation banks receive, what could possibly go wrong? And don't get me started with reversing transactions. That act itself destroyed the value forever, if a select few can invalidate transactions at will, its worthless forever. |

Es que sin libertad no hay progreso. No hay forma de que los políticos lo entiendan, especialmente en Venezuela que jamás ha tenido algo siquiera parecido a un Estado pequeño que no se esté inmiscuyendo en la vida de los demás.
No está en la enseñanza ni en la cultura. El gran caudillo debe ordenar y las masas obedecer. Esa es la triste historia de este país, y eso lleva siglos.
Bitcoin incursiona contra parte de ese poder del Estado, porque le arrebata el control del dinero. Así de simple. El Banco Central, hay que cerrarlo.

Before getting into Bitcoin, or at least before handling large sums, LEARN to make a cold wallet. Its literally write a bunch of words in a piece of paper with your own hands.
Once you practice enough creating and re-creating your wallet from your seed words make another copy (also by hand, no electronics) and keep them in separate physical places. Delete everything. Make sure you have plenty addresses copied to send funds to it.
NOW you can start moving your large sums into that savings wallet.
And if you ever need to move funds out of it, do it with the utmost precaution, using safe a OS such as Linux, etc. Move the funds out and delete everything (turn off if you simply booted from an optical media). The cold wallet will always exist as long as the seed words are safe.
When you are your own bank, you have to start acting like one. This is no games and there is no hand holding. Those are not "simple" mistakes, those are STUPID mistakes that could have been avoided by reading a little.
But people don't read, because they have money, they think that's above them or something. Bitcoin is not at fault, the user is, always. Bitcoin works, and has been proven for more than a decade, it works well, when used well. If you can't bother to learn, then keep paying others to take custody of your money, as you are clearly incapable of doing it.

The word bitcoin, as a monetary amount, simply means 100 million satoshis. As you should all know the actual bitcoin does not exist in code, only the satoshi.
Besides you can do nothing about it. The holders and the market have the last world. Its not Bitcoin's fault that anything else is going down around it. People are learning about fractional reserve banking and debt based economy with their trash money that is collapsing.
The Canadian gov is too worried that people have too much in savings... If i were them, i wouldn't hold to those dollars long, who knows if tomorrow their gov decides to make them all poor faster than what they expected?
The USD is collapsing, and will pull all the others with it. Your time to opt out may be running out. Once its happens, its too late.

China and America hate Bitcoin? No problem, the rest of the world will enjoy it. Their loss.

As far as i know there is no problem with the PSU missing fans, it may stop providing power if overheated. And yes there are many people doing immersion with Braiins OS+ with all the S17 family.

Una wallet fría de verdad (que es un pedazo de papel con palabras semillas escritas a mano) puede ocultarse bien en distintos lugares físicos, de manera que si ocurre una catástrofe en el otro sitio físico se puede recuperar.
Los dispositivos electrónicos, especialmente basados en memoria flash, no sirven para el largo plazo. Contrario a cierta creencia equivocada, las hardware wallet están hechas es para usarse en caliente en lugar de solo un sistema operativo inseguro como Windows.
Desde hace años está la frase de que si no son tus llaves no es tu dinero. Cualquier cosa que no está en tus manos, está en manos de otros. Eso es lo que ocurre con los exchange.
Con un buen Linux y Electrum se puede hacer todo, o si tienen buen internet, Bitcoin Core.
De resto no está en tus manos, es igual que darle tu dinero a un extraño para que lo cuide, y claro el extraño va cobrar su comisión adicional... Está el eufemismo este de "custodial" para que no suene tan feo, pero lo es, muy pero muy feo.
Hagan el ejercicio mental de que mañana, van al exchange y ya no existe. Así ocurrió en 2013 con el exchange de Bitcoin mas grande del mundo, un día no estuvo mas. Y otros exchange mas pequeños han desaparecido igual, recién robaron 80 millones en Liquid y hace unos años casi la misma cifra a Binance, cuando su ceo tuvo la infamia de proponer hacer el ataque de 51% a Bitcoin.

Los fees siempre son bajos (1 sat/B), solo que ahora pasan en menos de una hora y no en 6, 12 o 24.., como llevo años diciendo: No dejen que la wallet elija.
Cuando vuelva el precio a moverse mucho y los exchange y los trading bot vuelvan a sus andadas, pues no les extrañe se repita la historia de siempre. Aunque algunas mitigaciones al fenómeno han venido apareciendo desde 2018 que en enero una transacción de 1 sat/B podía tardar un par de semanas... Segwit y taproot entre otros.

La historia demuestra que este recurso de tachar ceros como "fuente infinita de dinero" terminará sobrepasando al Estado que no le dará tiempo de tachar ceros lo suficientemente rápido en el futuro. El bolívar soberano duró apenas 3 años, y el fuerte duró 10, ¿cuanto creen va durar el digital? Esa progresión logarítmica se encuentra en todos los casos históricos de hiperinflación.
Ya la gente tiene fijado todos los precios en dólares, si bien aceptan el "pago" en bolívares, son cantidades astronómicas que no duran ni un día, horas en algunos casos y quien las recibe, lo que hará es pasarlo a otro activo. Guardar bolívar es perder, pero el acceso a dólares es limitado...
Por si queda algún despistado que no entiende el motivo de la hiperinflación, es porque el gobierno gasta mas de lo que tiene. Eso es todo, no son "guerras" ni "bloqueos", pura mentira...
La historia también dice que esto eventualmente colapsará por completo, el tema es que puede durar años dependiendo de lo que hagan. Los políticos que son falsos no atenderán el problema de fondo, que es gastar mas de lo que se tiene, porque eso no es popular para los votos... La oposición por ejemplo propone endeudarse para solventar ese déficit, cuando lo que en realidad se necesita es gastar menos, reducir el tamaño del Estado, etc... Pero claro, no es popular mencionar la reducción de "programas sociales" que están todos en el suelo e in-operativos precisamente por falta de presupuesto. y la corrupción que este sistema estimula.
Sanear la economía es básicamente liberar, eliminar las trabas al libre mercado, y reducir el gasto para que no sea mayor al ingreso. Parece elemental, pero eso es todo. Y los socialistas te tildarán de "neo" liberal, pero pregúntales si ellos están viviendo gastando mas de lo que les ingresa...
Como dicen por ahí, el socialista solo sabe gastar pero no puede producir riqueza, luego no les queda nada por "repartir" y logran el sueño de eliminar la desigualdad social, cuando se acaba todo y todos quedan igual de pobres. (Excepto la élite que gobierna, claro).
