On the exchange, current bid/ask 3 - 4.9 CNY!!
So that means it is 0.0006 - 0.0009 BTC/DTC !!!
Now bid\ask is jumping sooo much. But I think that it will quickly go to 0.001+ BTC/DTC . Maybe other exchanges can add Datacoin? Like BTER, Cryptsy, etc. |

To make things easier and quicker, i asked him some days ago about a pool software source. His answer was no, because ypool is closed source. But i am still working on making p2pool support prime algorithm.
But he doesn't need to give us its code, DTC can simply be added to YPool - just for first time, until one of us doesn't create own pool |

Some updates:
- oocook5u told me yesterday that he's working at this functionality, and it will be added soon (see main thread).
- technical update: all wallet numbers, filenames and 'entry points' for each file will be also pushed to blockchain and will be kept up-to-date. So I'll release initial Tx id where anyone can take this file with list of stored content. In case of site unavailability anyone can easily get necessary files from blockchain with help of only this initial TX id
- concept update: there will be wallets for each file, and one wallet for 'overall' donation - if someone doesn't prefer any file, he can send money to this wallet. These coins will go to file which has the highest vote rating.

i'm running on qt version, but seem current diff is too high for solo mining.
We are working hard to get pool mining up. Currently talking to some pool operators & exploring possibility of developing pool s/w for datacoin. Regards. hopefully ypool will add datacoin soon - I'll talk to them today. Also I requested support from beeeer, but still no answers from their members (they're offline all the time). Can anyone provide me any other their contacts instead of forum PMs? |

I am confused about the fees for storing files. What is to stop someone from modifying the code to just insert files for free? From what I understand there is nothing in the algorithm that would actually prevent that.
Thank you for the question. Nothing stops us from modifying mintxfee as soon as txfee isn't a hard rule: block will be accepted with zero tx fee. There is two kinds of mintxfee: 1) minimal tx fee that limits me (as a miner) to accept tx into block 2) minimal tx fee that limits me (as a node) to relay tx to other nodes As a miner I can accept lowfee txes into my memory pool but these txes will be accepted by other nodes only with blocks I've mined myself. This means that lowfee txes will reach other nodes much slower. ...and no confidence that it will reach other nodes at all, correct? |

I like the Twidder idea but I suggest that we add one more RPC call to make it easy:

datacoind senddatatoaddress [address] [amount] [message]
The tx fee is paid to the network for storing the data but the 'amount' here is paid to the operator of the website which establishes the protocol (the meaning of the message, what to do with it) and makes the data available for ordinary users of the web.

I'm I wasting my time and energy soloming this with a Core i5?
well people are selling them quite cheap right now so say you get 2 blocks per day thats 30 coins. People are selling at .0001 so you need 10000 to get 1 btc. I guess depends on electricity cost. Probably best to buy whilst cheap. I'm holding for much better price though right now. You're right, it's awfully cheap. And remember: you need 50 Datacoins to store 1 MB of data. And these 50 Datacoins should be valuable to avoid spamming blockchain in future. I.e. if 1 Datacoin = 1 USD, you won't spend 5MB * 50 USD = 250 USD to store your favourite song here |
