i've tried pretty much every o/c utility out there and i've been sick and tired of the crap you have to go thru to get them to work for multi-gpu setups.  Started using something called clocktweak.  Search the forum.  Cmdline utility.  Nice cause you can put it in a batch file.
942  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining w/ two 5830s reboots system on: August 26, 2011, 02:15:14 AM
i had issues like this as well and ended up going to a 900w psu. those 5830s are power hungry especially when over clocked. i know lots og people say 600 or 700 is enough for two or the rule of thumb for btc mining is 200w per card plus 150 for mobo, memory... but for my 6 systems i needed about 250 or more per 5830. just my 2 cents
I'm not sure if your 5830's are just power hungry or what but I have a rig of 4 5830's that pull a little over 900 watts and they are all overclocked to go 330 megahash a sec. I know it pulls a little over 900 because I have a kilowatt meter.
hmmm maybe its my cooling system that is pulling more than expected. I have a crapper 1000watt and it will not power power 4 5830s. (i meant 1000w not 900 above) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159101, 4 80mm fans on top, one 120 pushing air from the back.

I'm running 4 5830s o/c to 1020/325 on that same exact psu.  Rest of the rig is minimal.  sempron 130, 1 stick 2gig ram, low power laptop drive.

I have been using a hdtv as a monitor for several years now, the only problem is since I've started mining and bought a sapphire 5830 and 5570, I can no longer switch my tv to another source and then back without locking up my computer. Has anyone seen this before? My google searches have been fruitless. I don't have to have the miner running for it to lock up. Same thing happens if I remote desktop! I assume its an hdcp issue of some sort but have no idea how to resolve it? Any ideas

You might be at the edge of your power usage?  Switching a monitor might cause a slight power glitch that burps the gpu?

Not a single troll has put forth an argument of why they aren't personally responsible for their actions, aside from coercion. Typical.

Not my fault Wink

Please add a wording/notation that even if you have a x64 processor, you need to install x32 python.

x64 python + x32 ssl doesn't work.

Thanks!

CCC does not want to go past 875mhz, nor does AMD GPU Clock tool want to work. When i start the software is says, no supported devices found. Can someone please help

Unless you have your case opened up with a high CFM fan blowing right on your card, or you're water/oilcooled, I call BS on your 70*C full load @ 1010Mhz....

I have 5 5830s running in my basement, with no additional "high CFM fans" blowing on them.  All are running at 69-70C @ 1010/250 stock voltage. No cases.  all open.
Ambient in the basement is about 20C.

just use another pool. deepbit charges a big fee anyway.

What pool do you suggest I use that has a small fee?
