I explained Bitcoin to my grandmother and she thought it was a great solution to the problems of banking and fiat currencies. She pulled out her pocketbook to buy some bitcoins then she stopped and said

"wait, are the blocks going to scale beyond 1mb or are they going to offer some sort of channel solution to handle transaction volume?"

I told her it was still under discussion.

She slammed her pocketbook shut and said "I'll stick with fiat thank you very much!"

Excellent Elwar!!

Come on Master, give us the bad news.

From a not so bullish bull.
943  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 15, 2016, 05:54:27 PM
I preferred the high 700 eurphoria.

This is pretty shitty and I'm usually bullish but getting a bit pissed off. I will as usual keep hodling but halving done and not much coming up isn't looking that great. I wouldn't write off seeing the 400s again between now and Christmas.

Someone tell otherwise.

This bull isn't overly bullish at this moment in time.

Wow, can't be much to talk about if we nearly have a whole page discussing Jimbo saying good morning.
945  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 04, 2016, 09:56:43 PM
why it died? the name could be changed to bitcoindeadtalk. it's gonna need a few years of post mortems so we can all learn something.

Ha ha love it^^^

946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 04, 2016, 09:49:50 PM
Well what do we talk about now then??
947  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 03, 2016, 12:02:34 PM
This is what annoys me more than anything....

Price goes up and no one I know says a word.

Price goes down and I get photo messages of Bitcoin crashes news reports and links sent to me by so called friends saying oh dear.

People have a real issue with success but thrive on even their close friends losing money. (Even though I bought far far far lower than in the 500s)

It's hard not to bite.
948  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis on: August 02, 2016, 09:29:51 PM
I must say your prediction is very impressive masterluc.

Horrific dump. I'm at a wedding, supposedly enjoying myself..........until I saw the bitcoin price.

WTF happened mannnnnnn!

Mate, get on the tequilas and all this will be forgotten
950  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 02, 2016, 07:54:40 PM
It was nice knowing you guys... I'm done with bitcoin  Embarrassed

.... until the price rises again in a year or two

You've got to ride the rollercoaster dafar! It'll be ok. No need to leave.
951  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 01, 2016, 06:33:13 PM
What's happening guys? To be honest I was not expecting this much of a battering after staying at $660 or so for a fairly long time.
do you feel that feeling of impending doom?

lots of people are feeling the same thing, thats whats happening...

I've been around for worse than this so no doom here, just slight disappointment and just wanting to bury my head in the sand and deny that the price is dropping. 500s will hurt.

953  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: July 25, 2016, 07:26:25 PM
I have very simple plan.It is use dice aites with faucet and invest in shares in one site which will make me reach because they will grow very much. Also i will invest money there from poker and signature campaign.

This doesn't sound like a good plan at all. Basically "I will get rich gambling"

I'm not saying it's not possible but extremely unlikely.
954  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2016, 09:30:47 PM
That's crazy what you can get where you are.

I bought my small 2 bed bungalow in a nice area here in the south of the U.K. for Ģ232,000 4 years ago. Roughly Ģ270,000 now. It's nice but nothing special..........yet. (Building work being done as we speak)

I would not be brave enough to sell and put it all in to Bitcoin. Even though I love it I still believe it's not a guaranteed success.

But, no one got rich by playing it safe so good on you! I have invested as much as I possibly can in to Bitcoin without affecting my family if it all goes wrong. I'd still be severely depressed losing it all if this happened but we could still continue with our lives no problem.

955  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 18, 2016, 09:57:03 PM
How was jay trolling exactly? I can't see it.  Huh
956  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 16, 2016, 06:03:09 AM

Quote from: Jorge Stofli comment to SEC
As for the proposed ETF, it does not add any productive mechanism to the underlying bitcoins. It only provides a level of indirection, that is intended to make bitcoin accessible to investments funds that it would not otherwise get (such as retirement funds). But, would the SEC authorize an ETF whose shares are to be backed exclusively by shares of a specific penny stock?

Its been a long time since I have seen him on here and he's still vehemently against bitcoin. Why is he hell-bent on seeing bitcoin not succeed?

He's a socialist academic in tenure at a tax-payer funded third world university ... what else is there to understand?

He's the typical scum that has bought humanity to its knees through a tragically-failed ideology and attendant rent-seeking classes. It's important for them that their world-view destroyed by prosperity-generating examples of liberty in action is not exhibited to a wide audience.

His posts always angered me but he seemed pretty friendly with everyone so I never said anything.

But why he spends so much time reading up on something he doesn't like or has any part of is weird. He needs to do things he enjoys and maybe spend time with his family rather than trolling something he has no part of at all. Sad old man, get with the times!

Even trolls have Bitcoin. He was/ is a strange troll breed that holds none and has never intended to hold any.

He needs sectioning.

The good professor is petitioning the SEC. Charming. Smiley
https://www.sec.gov/comments/sr-batsbzx-2016-30/batsbzx201630-2.htm

That is a bit better argued than his normal misleading posts.  He doesn't deviate so much from facts in his attempt to denigrate bitcoin, yet his emphasis of bitcoin's non-tangibility and failure to add value because of it's "pure" speculation seem to be exaggerated attempts to play into fear of the unknown and fear of the innovative nature of bitcoin.

I really wish he has some BTCs stashed for the upcoming post September 2016 Bankmargeddon... (Financial) Winter is coming professor. Get yourself a coat. Wink

what a prick. i knew it. but didnīt think he would go that far. what idiots like him do not get: they are making bitcoin more resilient. every crusader that is not able to kill bitcoin will one day realize that he has been used as a free sparring partner.

What a prick. My thoughts exactly.

How can someone who owns zero bitcoins spend so much time on Bitcoin forums and stress about shit like this? He's like the neighbour who peers through the window if someone parks outside his house or moans at kids having fun. Miserable bastard, get a life.

Edit. Just because he is intelligent it doesn't mean he can piss on everyone's fire.

Thanks for the explanations
959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 15, 2016, 06:50:37 AM
Does the low volume means no one is spending or buying coins? Also, if the volume is so low why does it not affect the price?

Does this mean people are just hodling?

Just trying to work out the whole low volume thing.
960  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 14, 2016, 06:37:00 PM
I have a good feeling we are going to see $33,333 soon. 777? Pah.....
