lol nice

i wish it or even the big silver coin was year of the dragon i might have been interested

I've got a handful of the year of the dragon 1 oz rounds, but those are in my personal collection at the moment and not for sale. I believe the Perth Lunar series may have been my introduction to numismatic coins. I've got all of them produced so far. At least in silver.
962  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 10/3/16 on: October 03, 2016, 07:25:13 PM

Yep, thats where I got them  Grin

I was actually looking for an ungraded 1/10 oz rabbit to make a necklace out of, when I saw the MS70 ones listed for the same prices as the going rate for the non graded ones. Now I can't find any comparables at any other shops.
963  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 10/3/16 on: October 03, 2016, 03:37:10 PM
Fresh in today (2) MS70 1/10th Oz 2011 Year of the Rabbit Gold coins and (3) MS69 2004 Silver Eagles

Actual photos of the Rabbits and Eagles uploaded. The photos are not stock.

As a side note, the MS70 1/10 oz gold rabbits are OBSCENELY difficult to find. There is not a single online bullion dealer, reputable or not selling them. If anyone happens to find someone else selling them, I'd greatly appreciate a link. Trying to compare prices is tough when no one else is selling them.

967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The danger of the cyptocurrencies on: October 01, 2016, 05:01:26 PM
You are probably aware of the recent news about removing the fiat money for good and building up the cashless world.

Have you thought that bitcoin maybe the first step of this utopia? What if CIA behind this project? Would you still keep your money as bitcoins? Would you trust them? Do we know who the hell is Satoshi Nakamoto? I suure don't.

There is one big danger ahead. If the paper money gets removed, you will have no choice but to accept to get paid in crypto currencies. And to the big point:

If you keep your money in a goddamn computer, the government can rip you off instantly if they wanted it. I am not saying they aren't doing that already as most of us are keeping *our wealth in the banks. But cryptos will make their jobs easier. Much easier.

What if bitcoin price rises to 1.000.000$ and gold and USD become literally worthless? That's when bitcoin will be the world currency, and people gonna realise that gold is just a stone, USD is just a toilet paper.

Your won't have another choice but to store your money only in crypto, because the other choices will be worthless!

I am not sure if that's a good thing. Being dependent so much on computers just scares me.

The point of Bitcoin is that it doesn't matter who made it. What if Satoshi is actually *insert bad guy* that doesn't make your money any less secure. The point of Bitcoin is that you can trust the algorithm that runs it, you don't need to trust some middleman to regulate it for you.

I dont think there will ever be a day where fiat or gold are "worthless". Gold has been a store of value recognized in every country in the world for thousands of years. The point of currency is to be a medium of exchange. To be a medium of exchange, all you need is for something to be recognized as having value by many people.

How does having money on a computer allow the government to rip you off?

The 2 Oz Silver Kraken is there for size comparison. These are BIG coins. As shown, they come in giant acrylic airtite cases direct from the mint. These are about $5/oz over spot value, shipping is free. These are definitely not just Silver Bullion. As I mentioned before, these are part of the Perth Lunar Series. Each year, the Perth mint in Australia produces bullion related to that year's zodiac symbol. 2017 is the Year of the Rooster, 2011 was the Year of the Rabbit, etc. The mintage figures aren't as low as some other collectible coins that are produced in extreme low batches, but its safe to say that the lunar series is the most collected series of any, so the premium is higher than others.

I also have the 1 oz and 2 oz versions of this coin in my personal collection. The premium on both of those coins is about $20+/spot per ounce or >100% premium. Larger bullion has a lower premium per ounce of course, as it takes less effort, electricity, and machine wear to make 1 32.15Oz coin versus 32 1 Oz coins, but as I stated, this is not something that will ever approach spot value.

I'm personally a rabbit fan, so the 2011 Perth Year of the Rabbit coins are on my top 5 favorite list.
969  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 9/30/16 on: September 30, 2016, 10:57:00 PM
All prices are updated and my teased "BIG" silver rounds are in! Keep in mind I also teased that I'd be soon receiving some gold in the same spirit as these.  Wink

I'm now offering (2) 1 Kilogram 2011 Perth Lunar Year of the Rabbit Coins. These guys are massive, quite literally nearly the size of a real rabbit. 1 Kilogram is 32.15 Troy ounces for those of you doing the conversion, so if you have a 1 ounce coin laying around, consider these ones 32x larger. These also come in large acrylic airtite containers, so you can pat them as much as you would like!

Perth is one of the most distinguished mints, being particularly well known for their zodiac series. Every year since 1999 they have released coins with relation to that year's zodiac animal. 2011 was the Year of the Rabbit, and these cute fellows were minted.

This year may be the year of the rooster, but screw that, rabbits all what its all about! Oh, the coins also have some old broad on the back and are legal tender in Australia, making them coins rather than rounds.

And as always, this is a stock image for the sake of convenience. If someone is interested, I'd be happy to take pictures of the ones I have.

970  Other / Meta / Re: Admins -- Sort out this investor based game section once and for all. [POLL] on: September 30, 2016, 07:44:19 PM
but isn't it logical to either allow or disallow people posting in that section? everyone, every single post, gets tarnished with red trust unless they are negatively posting about the "game" or "program"...why not just make the board info more clear for people who find it hard to understand that way cryptodevil and other members do not need to do this and those that actually want to play, can play without their profile being destroyed?

Its allowed, otherwise all of the threads would have been trashed already. As I just finished saying, red trust is completely subjective. Cryptodevil could give negative trust to anyone who sells socks if they wanted. That doesn't mean its the forum's policy to disallow the sale of socks.

Forum Policy has no connection to the feedback system. Those who wish to play only have their profile destroyed only in the eyes of those who will no longer due business with them because of their affiliation to investor based games. Negative feedback does not all have equal weight.

If you are going to buy socks with Bitcoins here on Bitcointalk, and there are two traders. Both have 1 red trust. The first trader got their negative trust because they support Russia's involvement in Crimea. The second trader's negative trust is because they scammed someone out of 5 BTC. Which trader are you going to go with?
971  Other / Meta / Re: Admins -- Sort out this investor based game section once and for all. [POLL] on: September 30, 2016, 07:32:03 PM
The section was added to separate "investor based games" and the more traditional gambling types like dice/cards, etc. Both gambling communities were complaining because they were constantly fighting over the main gambling section, and it just became a bump war. Its not that Bitcointalk supports investor based games in particular, its just that it needed its own section to solve that dispute.

Trashing them all is an option I suppose, but trashing all forms of gambling is also an option. I can't fathom why this discussion comes up every day. If you don't want to gamble, stay out of the gambling section. Trust being unmoderated is a good and bad thing (mostly good in my opinion) people can go around marking whoever they want for whatever reason. Bitcoin mining is a gamble, so maybe I'll give negative trust to anyone involved with Bitcoin mining! If I did that, everyone would just ignore my feedback, and the problem solves itself.

Everything is just someone's point of view. If you are someone who doesn't care about "investor based games" and any of their implications, just ignore cryptodevil's feedback. If you are someone who finds them wrong and don't wish to do business with anyone involved, then heed their warning and don't. Its not really a big deal.
972  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 9/22/16 on: September 29, 2016, 11:39:45 PM
So I placed the majority of my restocking order today. When things start arriving, I'll update the thread and update prices and such.

As for a hint of what I have coming in,
(2)BIG Silver coins (debating whether or not I'll sell one or both, THEY ARE MINE!)
(10) 2 Oz Coins from across the pond
(2) MS70 Gold pieces in the same spirit as the BIG Silver coins
(50) 1 Oz silver bars
(3) MS69 Silver Eagles
and something a little interesting that I think will get Bitcoiner's attention. Its a 2 oz proof piece from a mint I've patronized before. Less than 250 were produced, and its definitely in the general spirit of the forum, so we will see how long that lasts.

Once everything arrives of course I'll reveal all of the details, but for now I at least wanted to give everyone a heads up that some new things will be arriving. I may delay listing a few things so that I can order cases for a couple of the pieces that may need them.
973  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Rare! Double Funded “Twin” BTCC Mint Bitcoin Block, With 50+ BTC on: September 29, 2016, 02:35:36 AM
Heh, hope it doesn't come back to bite you starting the bid at 50 BTC instead of 50.7. I'd say theres a decent chance of Canary winning it at 50, due to the lack of people with 50 BTC laying around to bid with.
974  Other / Meta / Re: Why was the thread moved by Gmaxwell? on: September 27, 2016, 03:13:55 AM
If I had to make a guess, I'd imagine it was a misclick. Perhaps he meant to move it to reputation since its about the reputation of hardware manufacturers? The two boards are right next to each other when moving a thread. Its really easy to make that kind of mistake.

I'd move it back for you, but in case I'm wrong, I'll wait a bit to see whats up.
975  Other / Meta / Re: Rules of Self-Moderated Threads on: September 27, 2016, 01:42:05 AM
Last week I was informed of the rules of self-moderated threads by hilariousandco.  I can't find them posted anywhere, so I'm hoping he was misinformed.

The only official looking rule I've seen is the one you get when your post is deleted by the OP of a SM thread (which I also think needs to change):

Quote
A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by the starter of a self-moderated topic. There are no rules of self-moderation, so this deletion cannot be appealed. Do not continue posting in this topic if the topic-starter has requested that you leave.
You can create a new topic if you are unsatisfied with this one. If the topic-starter is scamming, post about it in Scam Accusations.

I don't think it's  ok to give anyone the right to dictate who can and can't post in the main forums.
All users who post in self-moderated threads should be expected to follow forum rules and local rules if any are posted in OP.

It get's worse....

According to hilariousandco, users who start self-moderated threads have the right to privately black list any user without saying a word about it in the thread or to the black listed user.   All they have to do is inform a mod they don't want a user to post in their thread anymore.  The mod then informs the blacklisted user that they will be banned if they post again in the thread.  Doesn't matter why or what has been posted in the past, the mod is just following the rules.

I would like to suggest that the mods/admin stop going out of their way to keep "self-moderated" thread starters happy.  Transparency is good.  Self-moderated threads are opaque. (<---does that word work like that?)

Why not just enforce the General Forum rules and leave it at that?  The fact that op has power to delete any post they want doesn't mean they should be entitled to the power of the ban hammer also.

A user who blacklists someone from their thread must notify them. A moderator can be an intermediary I suppose, I've actually done so before when explaining self moderated rules to both parties, but it can't be a secret blacklist.

If someone is banned from posting in a thread, they can create their own thread. By general forum rules, if someone has their posts deleted but they repost them, they are banned. The same applies to self moderated threads.

any wiggle room on the geiger

Thanks for asking, of course I encourage people to ask.

At $2/oz over spot, my geiger bar is currently $345.50 in BTC

After you asked, I went to a couple of my go to sites and price checked. These are their lowest cash prices, dealers charge more for Paypal and credit card transactions.

JMBullion's current price is: $356.89
APMEX's: $357.84
Ebay: $367.82
ProvidentMetals: Out of Stock

I'm currently $0.70/ounce under JMBullion's lowest price. For that reason, I don't really have much wiggle room there. On top of that, I take another $6 hit because I'm offering free shipping.
977  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Low Prices! Updated 9/22/16 on: September 26, 2016, 03:12:24 PM
all gold gone?

damn

Yep, someone came along and bought it all up in one swoop. Not hugely surprising, I'm just a little confused as to why it took so long. I bought a lot of those bars at $10-20 over spot value myself. I'm shocked it took this long and this much effort to move fractional gold bars.

I'm debating whether or not to bother buying more gold. I pretty much just bought it for a little diversity in my products. I'm going to look at the slightly higher premium prettier gold and maybe platinum bullion on my next purchase.

1.51BTC

Heh, I'm out. I just kind of wanted these because I like Smoothie.

1.51 BTC is still a steal people. If you crack the cases, peel the stickers, and sell the silver at spot value, you have about 1.3 BTC worth for anyone wondering. This lot is worth quite a bit more.

good luck greenplastic  Grin
