961  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopay Bitcoin Debit card + Giveaway on: September 29, 2017, 08:00:41 AM
I'm also happy with developments so far. I have my new USD and EUR plastic cards, activated them and used both at ATMs already. I also have the virtual card, active and with generous limits.

I recommend Cryptopay's cards. The Wave Crest card, which I enjoyed for over a year, is coming to an end on 15th Oct but it's good to see a new card provider with far better card features. Contactless payments, USD 5k per day/event limit, separate and independent limits for each card. I hope Cryptopay's relationship with this new card provider will be one that will outlast the short partnership they had with Wave Crest.

962  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: sell bitcoin for cash in europe on: September 29, 2017, 07:48:29 AM
Caveat venditor.

Be careful when meeting up to sell bitcoins in Europe. There have been incidents of syndicate-style crimes perpetrated by a group of people.

If anyone intends to take up this offer, meet up at secure and safe locations such as inside a bank or within proximity of the police or security services. Never go alone. Take someone or a few persons with you who can monitor the transaction as it progresses.

I strongly recommend transacting inside a bank where money can be checked for authenticity. And preferably deposit the money in your account after the transaction. There is a risk of being followed and assaulted to recover the money paid for the coins. Worse, you could be forced to send the entire coins you have under threat of being harmed or even killed.

Do NOT fall for sweet words and terms such as temptingly high margins above market price but with conditions attached such as doing the transaction in a location of buyer's choice. This is dangerous. Don't do this at places such as a hotel room or inside a car or a parking lot or in a deserted location where nobody can help you if you are assaulted. Assault is the least of risks. You might lose your bitcoins and your life.

Tip: contact details are skype and a Russian email. Be extremely cautious.

963  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best Bitcoin prepaid credit card? on: September 29, 2017, 07:20:23 AM
No such thing as a "prepaid credit card" (since prepaid and credit are terms which totally oppose each other). One represents money paid in advance. The other is money (re)paid later.

If you mean best bitcoin prepaid cards and if you are a US citizen or resident, then options are thin. You can try Bitpay:

https://bitpay.com/card/

Or WageCan:

https://wagecan.com/

As for other card companies, I doubt they offer them to Americans.

964  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Mistertango - Bitcoin friendly European Bank Account + free MasterCard on: September 29, 2017, 12:57:37 AM
Couple quesions:
1. How can I order your card? "Cardholder name" field is inactive while the system require all fields to be filled.
2. Is it possible to send USD transaction via SWIFT to my Mistertango account? Or maybe it is possible to open USD account?

I advise you to contact their (really excellent and helpful) support team first before attempting to send USD to your MisterTango account. They might not allow a USD deposit or wire payment as mentioned on their price list:

https://mistertango.com/en/wp-content/uploads/Mistertango-pricelist.pdf

I guess the reason for this is that Lietuvos Bankas (the Lithuanian central bank) issued them a restricted license and not a full license to operate as a bank. As such, they are probably not allowed to do currency transactions.

Contact them and ask to be on the safe side.

PS.. my advice: instruct your bank to send the TT in Euros. Banks give you that choice. You send, say, USD 5000 and you will be given a choice for them to convert and send in Euros or you can send in USD and let the receiving bank convert it. If you choose to send in Euros, you will receive a TT quote which you can accept or decline.

965  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Wirex- Bitcoin Debit Card | Buy Bitcoin | Mobile Banking | Send Money on: September 29, 2017, 12:49:59 AM
I'm going to try use my card for the first time today. Do I need to transfer the money from my Wirex bitcoin account to my plastic card or will it automatically come out of that when I try withdraw from the ATM? Thanks.

I don't use the Wirex card but I'm pretty sure the procedure is identical to the card I have. You will need to first convert your BTC to fiat (which would be your card's currency). The conversion is an automatic procedure during the card-loading process.

If you have a verified account, the transactions limits are generous and high. If you have a non-verified card, be aware of the loading and transaction limits which can be really low.

966  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: September 28, 2017, 06:10:41 PM
@warningsigns: It's most likely another DDOS. It's very cheap to do, and very hard to prevent.
You can try the Tor-version of the site.

This is really sad. All these sick characters and their perverted acts, wasting other people's time and opportunities. I know it's wrong to say this but there should be mandatory abortion laws for wives of those found to be responsible for these attacks. They should not be allowed to multiply and populate this planet with more of their kind. There. Got it off my chest.

967  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopay Bitcoin Debit card + Giveaway on: September 28, 2017, 05:52:18 PM

I'm from ASIA and I'm looking for a card to withdraw money from ATM's. Is it your card works for this purpose?

Currently I'm using XAPO but they are stopping service soon so looking for another card. If it works then can you also send me the promo code to get a free card, please?

Yes, their cards work perfectly here in Asia (worldwide, in fact). I am also based in an Asian country and I have both their EUR and USD plastic cards and a USD virtual card. All work flawlessly. The cards have generous limits and are accepted by store merchants, online merchants and ATMs.

You must verify your account to enjoy the card's amazing transaction limits and features.

968  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: September 28, 2017, 05:42:29 PM
Is the site down? I keep getting a "This site can't be reached" error.

If it's down for maintenance, when will you be up and running again? Please let me know. Trying to teach and convince my (skeptical) friend how mixers work.

969  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Virtual Debit Card Without The Low Load Limit on: September 27, 2017, 10:08:09 PM
It's good to see ALL card providers provide strict and low limits for those who stubbornly refuse to respect the law. If you want to transact large amounts, verify your account and identify yourself as required by law. If you want to launder criminally gained money, stick to cash and nothing else.

I am happy to see these bitcoin card providers strictly requiring account verification and identity vetting. It's the criminals who spoil the game and make it difficult to operate in the bitcoin ecosystem with total peace of mind. Banks view bitcoiners as launderers, criminals and tax evaders, precisely because of these characters who want to channel and move their funds across the banking system anonymously and sans a name linked to those funds.

$250 is a nice low limit. Keep it that way.

970  Economy / Lending / Re: I want to offer lending service on: September 26, 2017, 11:14:53 AM
Are BTC loans with a guarantee? How do you make sure that you will get your money back?

If you are the lender, you can increase your chances of seeing loans repaid by asking for collateral to secure the loan. If you are the borrower, you can be sure you will get your collateral back by paying back the loan. If you don't repay the loan, you effectively forfeit your collateral. Simple.

Assurance is much more solid when you transact with trusted lenders or if borrowing from a fairly new members, if the collateral is held in escrow.

971  Economy / Goods / Re: Btc to gold bars on: September 25, 2017, 10:13:16 PM
In his defense he might have the gold bars, if he really is based in Dubai as his user name indicates. Dubai is one of the major hubs for gold transactions. And he might just be cautious about providing information related to his assets or gold holdings. Precious metal dealers usually are very paranoid.

Regardless, because of the multitude of scams and the ingenious way scammers now operate, I suggest OP provide solid evidence of ownership of or access to these gold bars. And additionally, information about how he intends to ship the bars (especially the 1kg bar) discreetly and safely. I know precious metals are big business in the UAE as I was just recently in Dubai (and gold and gold-dealing businesses are on-your-face and ubiquitous in the city!) but it is also important for potential buyers to be aware that scams and fraudsters exist everywhere and the UAE is not immune to these criminal elements.

Escrow is a must. Always have the gold assayed or checked by a reputable assayer or goldsmith.
972  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Any safe way to withdraw bitcoin to western union on: September 25, 2017, 09:55:01 PM
Countries like Pakistan are heavily reliant on remittance systems. Western Union works best in these countries. It is difficult to use PayPal or similar systems in countries like India and Pakistan where stringent exchange control mechanisms are enforced, making transfers to banks a very cumbersome task.

So yes, OP is best served if he sticks to the Western Union (or Moneygram, if available) option. Don't even think about accepting any questionable and reversible payment methods such as the one offered above for F&F. That would be a disaster, especially when you consider he could reverse the payment up to 180 days. Always consider account age, account feedback and trust level, past transactions, account and post quality before considering a PayPal payment. And even if those indicators pass the test, make PayPal your very last option. It is a very risky payment method.

Same with a bank transfer. SWIFT MT103 instructions can be recalled if fraud is involved.

973  Economy / Lending / Re: Will pay for 0.04 BTC on: September 25, 2017, 09:45:15 PM
Hi Ladies and Gentleman,

I was wondering if anyone is interesting in loaning me 0.04 BTC. I will return a whopping 45% yearly interest rate. Contact me if interested at leoliang8833@gmail.com

Best Regards,
Leo Liang

Nice interest rate but I doubt anyone with a shred of intelligence will email you to take up your offer. Instead, unless you lock this thread soon, you can count on your account being tagged and painted red soon.

You can't get loans here if you can't offer valid and adequate collateral. Many have tried, conjured up wild and inventive stories, offered worthless collateral.. they all failed.

To borrow the 0.04 BTC, offer good collateral worth 120% or more of 0.04 BTC and you might get offers.

974  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopay Bitcoin Debit card + Giveaway on: September 25, 2017, 09:33:04 PM
I have both the new USD and EUR contactless cards. They work perfectly. Accepted at merchants and ATMs here in Asia.

I still have my MyChoice card. It is still valid unti 15 October this year. The advantage is the new card's USD 5k withdrawal limit plus the MyChoice card's USD 2k limit. This bridging time makes it easy to convert most of my cold storage coins into fiat.

For the new cards, I think they only support verified accounts. I don't see any limit option for non-verified accounts. They might support lower limit cards for those who don't want to go through the verification process but for now I think they only offer the new cards if you can successfully complete the verification requirements. I wasn't required to submit new documents.

975  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Physical bitcoin debitcard? on: September 25, 2017, 09:21:01 PM
Cryptopay now offers MasterCard which are also available for non-EU residents. I have both the new USD and EUR contactless cards. They work just as flawlessly as the MyChoice card (which I still have and is valid until 15 Oct 2017). The main difference is the transaction limit. Daily withdrawal limit of this new card is USD 5k. And of course the contactless payment functionality.

I also have the WageCan card. A good card too with decent limits and worldwide acceptance.

If you want a card with an IBAN account attached to it, I recommend MisterTango. The account comes with a free MasterCard. You also get your own dedicated bitcoin address for depositing funds to your account. Features include inward and outward SEPA and inward SWIFT.

976  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How to buy bitcoin? on: September 24, 2017, 02:35:55 AM
I signed up at coinbase and made a purchase. Their commission was more than 4% though.

Why do the ICOs want us to go via bitcoin? why wouldn't they take credit card payment directly? I'm sure thee-commerce part of a website is standard off the shelf so it can't be offsetting the financial part

Perhaps because they know that you could charge back the amount later if the ICO fails to achieve expected results. Or perhaps they want to be sure the credit card payment is a legitimate one. A fraudulent one would put a dent on their project's funding spreadsheet.

Bitcoin is final and irrevocable which is why they prefer it.
977  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Advcash | a new "anonymous" bitcoin debit card [EUR & USD] on: September 24, 2017, 02:25:17 AM

Thanks for the response. The police from my home country has to act by law. In fact it`s not that different to an ebay transaction. You pay, you expect a service or a good, if it isn`t delivered you ask for your money back. If you don`t get your money back it`s fraudulent. Sure thats a simplification but you get the point.
Sure you are right, to get somewhere will take ages but I will do it if I have to as I simply won`t gift them my money. Not gonna happen.

As I mentioned earlier, the funny thing is I would verify just to get away from that Bullshit but I can`t provide the proof of address that they are asking for. Sorry but they can`t expect me to change contracts with my Landlord or from myself just to get them a piece of paper. If they are so curious about my address why don`t they just send me a letter with a pin code enclosed? Bam address verified.

Well I used the service before and it worked perfectly fine which is also a reason why I am that upset right now. To a new or other site which I wouldn`t have used or tested before I would have NEVER deposited that money. I expected it to work exactly the same as the last time. I guess I was wrong.

This is the problem with certain exchanges. They will keep you running in circles until you (hopefully) give up and let them keep your money.

I have a bitcoin card from a major exchange and to keep things simple and straightforward I provided everything they asked for. They wanted proof of address... so I went to my bank and asked them to print a statement with my address on it. I also rent and my landlord's contract wasn't good enough as proof of address. I didn't give up. Asked my bank and credit card issuer to give me statements showing my address. I sent those and my card's limit were increased.

I suggest you look for ways to satisfy AdvCash's verification requirements. If you don't, your money will sit on their exchange forever and ever. Count on it.

978  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have PP, Want BTC on: September 24, 2017, 02:19:08 AM
I can selling you my bitcoin

But you have to carry out an identity verification process

If you manage to pass the process, then I will sell you my bitcoin and deliver them immediately

Do you want to start the verification process?

That's an interesting verse below your user name.

Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's.” And they were amazed at him.

Is this message supposed to be related to your planned escrow service? Or is it a general thing you believe in? Like carrying out an identity verification process and getting bitcoins for those IDs?

What kind of payment methods do you accept? And how would you do the transaction? You can't self-escrow yourself of course.

979  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS 1 Remaining x Ledger Nano S New in Sealed Box - US Shipping Only on: September 24, 2017, 02:12:23 AM
I would have taken one but I am not in the US. Too bad. I had a KeepKey but it stopped working and there was a sticky residue on it over time. Not sure if it has something to do with the weather here in Asia but I doubt it. I stopped using it and I'm now looking for an alternative portable wallet (a Trezor or this one offered by OP).

Are those Trezors and Ledgers sold on Amazon safe and guaranteed untampered? I'm thinking about getting one but not sure if it's a good thing to buy wallets on Amazon. If I factory-reset it, does it generate a totally new and unique recovery phrase?
980  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Advcash | a new "anonymous" bitcoin debit card [EUR & USD] on: September 24, 2017, 01:54:36 AM

I guess I don`t really have a choice besides getting a law suit going and file police reports Sad

A lawsuit won't get you anywhere. Not even a chat with a cop near you. The amount involved won't pass the public interest test and prosecutors will give you a no with a yawn if you tell them what this is about.

Your best option would be to relentlessly and stubbornly dog them (pester them) to fix what you perceive is wrong in your account. If they want you to verify the account, you should either do it or decline to cave to their demands.

This is why one should do extensive due diligence and think carefully, decide intelligently and act wisely when choosing the right service and bitcoin card.
