So because of family reasons he grabbed his double-barrel shotgun and shot himself in the back three times. Well, that something desperate people used to do, indeed...

Damn! It hit the $500 . I guess someone will start a "When will bitcoin reach 1000 USD again ?" topic pretty soon.

I'm voting for the capital controls in China coupled with the recent devaluation of the yuan. Probably the good news from the EU also boosted confidence in BTC.

maybe yess but it's very hard to reach $500 today after we reach $440 and stable at some hours, price will be down to 230-240 maybe nextday will be hit $500
Bitcoin price high potential to hit $600 at end of this year
It's already around 490 on bitstamp, coinbase and bitfinex, it was 470 just about 10 minutes ago... this rally going to be a crazy ride .

Wow, it appears I was pessimistic two hours ago, it can hit 500 in even today...

I guess that this is something that we were all wrong about. We all thought that when the next Bitcoin run starts, that alts will go up even more. And exactly opposite is happening. Alts are taking a beating.
Another thing in crypto world that we were wrong about. This just proves that sometimes nothing makes sense in this world.
About the alts, I think that people have just lost confidence in pretty much all of them.
This is what always happening in the first phase of the rally, people are dumping alts for BTC, the pump and dump business starts a week or two weeks later . We will see soon if alts will follow this scheme again.

I don't think more Ad Hominems is helpful. Though you are completely free to just let the Ad Hominem stay as it is without providing any context whatsoever.
It's difficult no to be "ad hominem" when someone want to call someone else a con artist .

A few altcoins (e.g. datacoin -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325735.0) experimented with this, but all failed eventually because of concerns of being too well suited for transferring illegal stuff (like child porn or copyrighted material) over the blokchain.

Maybe Bitcoin Savings & Investment isn't the best choice of name. It's too similar for my taste to Bitcoin Savings and Trust .

Don't underestimate the power of technology in this day and age. Innovative technology and the internet will make sure that if something is as good as it says, people will learn about it really quick.
Compare it to the internet adoption, took 20-30 years til we started using it properly, now with the help of the internet the same could be done with bitcoins, just so much faster. The only distractions at the moment are laws and the government. But that will clear itself out soon anyway.
You are right about technology, but bitcoin isn't just technology but wealth and power as well, and we shouldn't underestimate greed and hunger for power on the government/bankster side. Those guys doesn't like things what they can't control.

BTC price rises used to drag alts to higher levels about a week or two weeks delay. I guess we will see major pumps in a week, but it appears there's already an ongoing LTC pump (I can rule out a natural price rise though).

Perhaps willys are migratory species. During the spring and summer they move to the northern islands for nesting (no Internet over there), and coming back with the young willylings in October-November, to keep themselves warm enough they are doing some trades over the winter and early spring months .

|
End of the year? How about the end of the week!? You can be right . As seen the price rise in the last few days, we can hit $500 even by the end of this week .

I don't understand why the poll even exists here, I'd say most people on this forum think the same, else they wouldn't be here.
Well, believe in bitcoin but I don't think it will be "world's future money system". At first I think the world not going to have a unified monetary system in the next few centuries. If it will happen at some point in the future, money will be still issued and controlled by the government or some corporations. Bitcoin (or it's successor) will remain an open alternative to whatever money will be used by that time or just a collectors item .

I agree. This is silly and unsustainable. I hope we cool off before 500. There is a lot of stuff going on in the bitcoin world right now and a rise in valuation is justified. But we should be at least a couple of years from a moon landing.
Yes, I also hope that it will stabilize around 450... shortly after hitting 7000 where I'll sell my stash .

This is just ridiculous. How can a person fuck up this much?
I posted a comment earlier saying he deserves more time in prison without even knowing this, now I hope he really does get more time.
At least now he won't need to use btc to pay for sex.
Well, he won't need indeed, in the prison probably he'll get some sex for absolutely free of charge.

...if we all hold our coins, we can raise the price to unimaginable heights, effectively fuelling mainstream massive adoption. Bitcoin is good enough, scaling problems will be solved, all we have to do is HODL!!! Who said price/market cap are not important?! It's MOST IMPORTANT factor of adoption, the higher it gets, the more people are interested joining in and realising what is the Bitcoin revolution. No matter the mandatory price drop afterwards, people are getting in mostly because it's profitable!
Right now we have a good chance to maintain this rise if we act right, and this so far may be 4th bubble. If you ask me - it's hugely overdue.
How do you want to persuade the big-time miners who have to pay utility bills, salaries and have to keep buying new gear quite often to stop dumping on the exchanges for spot price?
|
|
|
As I see at this rate we'll reach $400 today or tomorrow.
|
|
|
This current rise looks like a bubble inflated mainly in China, probably because of the devaluation of the yuan and the restrictions on moving hard currency abroad. I don't think this will stop or slow down very soon, we will see how long the pressure on the buy side lasts.
