Are trademarks valid also for categories which are out of business for trademark holder? I mean - can Disney really protect "piglet" for some electronic gadget?

Btw Honda Firebird is also motorbike and Dodge Viper is a car. I'm not affraid that Disney will go over us with USB gadget (as far as we won't misuse Disney's piglet images).

Just claim to be from China and you should be fine.  Roll Eyes  They are copyright exempt

983  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Find Trendon Shavers in person thread... [BTCST, BTS&T, pirateat40] on: November 15, 2012, 05:11:29 PM
This is incredible. Yet another scammer makes it out alive with a lot of money.

Ya know... the community, and specifically, this forum is a little dull without a weekly scam coming to light.  They sure do stir the pot and bring the masses all together for once.  Man, what's it been? Like a month or more since the last bitcoin scam?  Wink
984  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ["WAIT LIST"] BFL SC Pre-Order Information on: November 15, 2012, 01:28:29 PM
Wow people are still ordering. I  guess if BFL gets all the preorders out the door in a six week period ones ordered today won't be too far behind.

Also It sounds like BFL may re-index the order numbers. Would be interestig to  see how many orders actually made it on this  list.

So does that mean they'll parse down the numbers to new consecutive numbers and contact all the pre-order customers with their new order numbers?  Or were they speaking more in-house accounting reorganizing of the orders?
985  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [BOUNTY] 1BTC for hardware wallet name on: November 14, 2012, 06:44:07 PM
Well, I love both "Oink!" and "Piglet" and I'm considering these names for real. However I still need to decide how much these "informal" product names can affect seriousness of the whole project.

They sound like project code names to me.  I'd stick with Lockr.   Wink

989  Other / Off-topic / Re: Vladimir resigns from Bitcoin Magazine on: November 12, 2012, 05:43:13 PM
I have resigned because I would like to pursue other opportunities, spend more time with my family and because at this point I believe the company and its shareholders would be better off without my presence on the board of directors.

So will the mag get released faster or slower with your departure?
990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone really think Terracoin is a threat to Litecoin on: November 12, 2012, 12:05:02 AM

Litecoin will remain a refuge for the GPU miners and FPGA miners
FPGAs are doing Littecoin now? Hmm, I think you got that one wrong, if I'm not mistaken.
I don't think they do now but they have the potential to mine Litecoin once someone rights the code to.

I don't think half of all the chips are going to go into Jalapenos. There's a reason they started offering a "Little Single" upgrade from Jalapenos while still maintaining your place in line. Combined with the fact that they only use 1 chip instead of 8, I'd say it's a small percentage of their chips that will be in Jalapenos.

I agree with your logic on this.  They went ahead with an upgrade option while maintaining current spots in line.  Makes me think they're good for it.

Thanks! It was hard to let go for only 1 BTC  Grin
Hoping it finds a good home!
993  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin Forums on: November 09, 2012, 11:40:47 AM
What improvement does litecoin have on bitcoin, or is it just a clone? If just a clone it is fun to try and get in on the bottom floor of something, but with the way bitcoin is growing and gaining attention, there would seem to be no need for litecoin.
The biggest difference is speed. And for most of us that's all the difference we need.  My transfers are a few minutes instead of up to an hour (or longer). Once merchant tools get developed the speed factor will be huge.
994  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ["WAIT LIST"] BFL SC Pre-Order Information on: November 09, 2012, 02:41:59 AM
The list, so epic....

I wonder how many people ordered multiple times!

It is a crazy list!  Many multiple orders on there.

I'm partial to our PCP&C 950W Silencers.  They're consistently 1080W out of the box and you can get them close to $100 at some places online.  Portable, Single Rail.  I love it!
996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone with a lot of MH/s want to fork the TerraCoin chain? on: November 07, 2012, 04:18:12 PM
How stupid one must be to not realise he's dealing with TRC, not BTC, or the oppossite case? Should we really protect such people?

Population average IQ is already lowest ever. For the sake of healthy specie, we should remove any and all safety measures, now!  Grin

Remember: We're trying to create digital currency for the masses.  If my granny starts using this it needs to be logical  and easy to adopt.  Assuming people are idiots or not as smart as you isn't the way to go to move this idea forward.
997  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BOUNTY: BFL SC die size (20BTC) and process node (20BTC) on: November 07, 2012, 01:33:55 PM
The die size is 7.5mm^2
Where's the source for that then?

Check the comments section.  BFL_Josh clears up the die size question.

998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone with a lot of MH/s want to fork the TerraCoin chain? on: November 07, 2012, 01:23:46 PM
It's actually worse than pointless, since the addresses used start with a 1 the same as bitcoin.  This is something that the creators of the other alternate chains did not mess up!  A terracoin address is not easily identifiable as a terracoin address.

+1 I think this was a terrible idea.  What happens if we send bitcoin to terracoin addy?  Lost coins?
