1  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't live above your affordability on: June 13, 2024, 09:56:43 PM
Regrets only happen in the end. Don’t let this happen to you by trying to live your life above your means and affordability. Just stay low key and live a simple life. If you can do that, you can do a lot of saving and investing while trying to live based on your means. Otherwise, living your life in luxury in the first place might only put your life struggling in the end financially. Something that I see most common with a lot of people that are not educated on how to secure their finances in the future.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: June 13, 2024, 07:15:38 AM
I'm glad I backed the Boston Celtics here, might do the same for game 4 as well.

Did you consistently back the Celtics in the series so far?

If you did, you're on a winning streak because they have covered the spread in the last three games. Game 4 might be the same, as Dallas probably won't play with the same energy knowing they are about to be eliminated. So, it's likely going to be a blowout win by the Celtics. I think I'm riding with you on this one.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: June 12, 2024, 01:16:52 PM
The odds for stake is not that a lot for Dallas Mavericks and I'm expecting with the other bookies and providers too. However, I've already started these
I'm going with Dallas at ML like at 1.75.
I'm with you brother, who else is with us?  Grin

Why not take the spread instead? If we truly believe that Dallas is going to win, then it should be a convincing one. They won't give the Celtics a chance to make it a close game, as they might choke, although they are good in clutch moments, especially Luka. Dallas just needs one win to awaken their confidence. It seems like they are hesitant and too reliant on Luka. Where was the ball movement that we saw during the WCF?
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest on your dependants if you too must grow further on: June 10, 2024, 05:21:09 PM
If you are a business owner, you definitely have the blood of being an investor as well. So, aside from doing stuff from your business. You also have to do things that are more of your passion and likes like investing in crypto assets. We all want to get a better life and that's why we're investing to anything that we think that's going to be worth it someday and not just to dependents of ours as we also try to teach them what we've discovered and learned from investing.

If we can keep investing in crypto assets besides working, it can bring good things for our future. Smart people are always interested in investing in crypto assets. Because they know that the value of crypto assets will increase several times in few years. In these times.  Those who can keep investing can earn good profits in few years. So we should use these times to invest.
If crypto investing brings sustainable profits, then we should not limit it to ourselves only but introduce it as well to our family members. That way, we don’t just progress on our own but the whole family as well. However, not all dependents would embrace bitcoin like the way we embraced it and for me that’s understandable. Let them invest on their own investments, and share to the family when that investment has bring profits already. That way, the whole family will come to benefit and enjoy the profits.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Internet don't forget, many times Donald Trump says bad about Bitcoin on: June 10, 2024, 04:16:57 PM
Op, Trump was president till 2021, not 2022, but other than that, I agree with that post. Trump is not pro-Bitcoin, and he demonstrated it multiple times in the past. He is using Bitcoin to get a wider appeal at the upcoming elections, that's all. He can easily get back to his old rhetoric about Bitcoin being risky and the USD being the best once he's elected (if that happens). I believe that some politicians can be genuinely pro-Bitcoin (if they are libertarian, for example), but Trump is not one of those.
Trump was never a pro-bitcoin in reality. If he’s admitting right now that he has come to favored bitcoin and want to promote it, surely he’s currently wearing a mask for the sake of his future political plans. Not only Trump but I believe majority of the politicians are still silently against bitcoin, but with the coming election, pretending to favor and promote bitcoin is just a play in order to win the hearts of bitcoin community.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a legal jurisdiction backing up gamblers against the casino oppression? on: June 10, 2024, 12:24:11 PM
Everything is to each his own when it comes to filing a case against a casino that violated their rights and privileges as members of the casino platform, if the winning is huge the complainant should spend his own money to prosecute the casino and get his huge winning.
he should estimate the amount he'll need to spend for the legal battle. Hiring a good lawyer might be too expensive but there's always this agreement you can arrange with your lawyer like he'll only get the professional fee once they'll win the case. I'm sure a good lawyer will agree especially against a liquid casino and they have the right evidence to win the case.

it's quite complicated but there's always a chance to teach the scammers a lesson.

But if the winning is not that huge then Bitcointalk and the gambling directories are his best choices to file a complaint, there are two goals to let other gamblers know the behavior of the casino and for them to pressure the casino to address the issue, sometimes it works and sometimes the casino just ignore these complaints and move on.

This is the easiest way, no expenses on our part but it will create big damage to the casino being accused if we have an evidence to win the case.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: June 10, 2024, 10:24:43 AM
Worse loss of Haney, he couldn't get over that he has to make sure Ryan gets punished for defeating him fairly.

How can it be worse, if this is the first Haney loss ? Cheesy Like you saw other losses to claim that this is the worse one ? Cheesy I would laugh if NY Athletic Commission would turn this fight as "Haney win by disqualification" in the end. A guy drop you on the butt three times, but you still win. If Haney would really get a clear record after that, I hope he wont be proud of that and never claim that he is undefeated. To make thing fair, this time Haney should have (or have not) taken something and Ryan to be as clean as possible Cheesy

Probably worse because he thought Haney couldn't lose. But I have no question about Haney's decision to complain, and the current developments are favoring him. It seems Ryan really took illegal substances to gain a big edge in that fight. What Ryan did is null and void if he is proven guilty of what he is accused of, so he better accept the punishment if everything is proven. Most likely, it will be a suspension, which we fans of him don't want to see.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: June 09, 2024, 09:58:23 PM
3.05 for Dallas on stake.com if they win for game 2. Not that much difference compared to the game 1 but still, I'd take the risk and will bet on them. So, good luck to all of us that have their own respective bets, win or lose, we're all friends and will definitely going to watch some good basketball later on.

Here is my pick. I ain't going to be analytic anymore when it comes to the Finals, it's more of a fanbase emotional pick.  Cheesy So, it's not recommended.
Boston Celtics - Dallas Mavericks - Dallas Mavericks ML @3.05
Over 213.5 @1.79

I trust the Mavs will have an answer after that bad loss.
Good luck everyone and let's enjoy the game later.
We're the same here bro and I hope to see a win for the Dallas Mavericks this time. But again, this is just all for fun and happiness that we're doing, no matter what happens, happens.  Cheesy
Enjoy your bet too bro.
I'm glad to see a lot of backers for Dallas here, which makes me more confident in my bet. I'm also on the same side with the over, as I think Dallas was shut down in game 1 but will find a way to show their true offense. When they played in the WCF, it was an offense vs defense team, so I think in the NBA Finals, it's offense vs offense since Boston has everyone on the floor who knows how to shoot the ball, even from the outside.

My prediction is that it could go way over the total according to our sportsbook. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes over 240, so let's hit this one on the road.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone take gambling as a source of income to he/she life? on: June 09, 2024, 09:33:58 PM
Gambling can be a source of information, yes because so many people, who dont have work are depending on gambling to pay them for them to earn a living. It is very  common in some parts of the country, and in some countries,it is legalised and being played by most persons, therefore in places where there is no work, there is every tendency that they will engage much in gambling and make it a source of living.
For those who just gamble because they like it,they once in a while try it whether they will be lucky or not.

Not the right explanation. In my opinion, it's easier to work hard to get a consistent salary on a regular basis than to rely on gambling to make a living. People say that they can make easy money in gambling or earn a living from it, but that's easier said than done. In reality, it's almost impossible to earn a living from gambling unless you are the one operating a gambling shop or a casino where you get the house edge.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 09, 2024, 01:15:12 PM
Damn that was a tough game for the Mavs to open up the championship.  I had a few bucks on them, despite feeling that the Celtics probably had the upper hand in game 1, especially being that they were at home, which always has a nice advantage.  I personally feel like this series is going to go the distance, and likely to end up at either 6 or 7 games, or at leas that is what I am hoping for.  Really looking forward to the game tomorrow.

$10 gone for me. Cheesy $5 on the Over total score, gone too. Cheesy I thought it would be a high-scoring game because both teams are offensive teams. My mistake, I didn't expect the Celtics to play hard defense and blow out the game.

But this will be a good fuel for the Mavericks team. They now know their opponent is really strong so I bet they will be pushing their limits and use that loss to be more competitive in Game 2.

Later, Game 2 of the Finals.
I think I am still betting for the Mavericks despite their bad loss in game 1. Adjustments will happen and Coach Kidd is good at that. Their last two series are the living proof of that.
Game 2 will be offensive if both teams are making their shots, so betting on the over IMO is a good decision.
Luka will continue his good shooting but Irving will not struggle like in game one. what I've noticed is that, when both Irving and Luka are shooting well, it will have a good effect on their teammates, so everyone will be more confident and they'll make their usual shots.

I can see the sentiment here, just because Dallas loss in game 1, people think they are a bad team, but if it was Dallas who won, they might think Celtics  will still win the series.

Do remember guys, they also lost against the Clippers in Game 1 and also lost against the Thunder in Game 1.

Clearly, and I'll follow the trend, so Dallas in game 2.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Israil Madrimov vs Terrence Crawford on: June 09, 2024, 12:14:14 PM
...
I'm sure he is looking for a Canelo fight, I hope Canelo also has Crawford in his mind, it's hard for these two greats to not face in the ring because they have a claim for the greatest boxer of this era.
Crawford never declined any challenge, we can't say the same with Canelo who is just cherry-picking his opponents before heading for retirement.

How I wish Canelo would just accept Saudi's offer to fight Crawford. It's not necessary to happen in Saudi anyways if Canelo does not want to go to the desert. Because Alalshikh and his team are willing to host even outside of their country and this card where Crawford is headlining is their first and there's more to come for sure. But Canelo already said, no amount of money can move his decisions. I don't know why Canelo does not want this, he already ducked Benavidez but somehow he does not want to hear people saying he beat a blown up welterweight. I honestly see the Mexican superstar stopping Crawford and I hate it to be honest but a part of me wanted to see this fight happening.

That pride of Canelo though, it was already in his favor since he is the heavier fighter, so I don't see any reason why he would not accept that offer. Maybe he really sees Crawford as a tough opponent and anticipates he might struggle in the fight. Canelo has been winning easy fights, but with easier opponents as well. I think it's time for him to take a risk again and fight a quality boxer, a champion boxer like Crawford.

I haven't read how much the offer was, but I'm sure it was a huge amount of money since that promoter usually pays good money, as we can see from the heavyweight fights.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When you make mistakes, do not fail to take corrections. on: June 08, 2024, 10:59:20 PM
Mistakes are made to be corrected in order not to repeat the same mistake again and to become a helpful tool for the future success. If not, you will continue to be blind with your own mistakes and end up committing errors again and again that made you a loser in the end.

However, sad reality is that others who want to prove theirselves that they are good enough are never open for corrections. I don’t know what’s their point of sticking to that, either it will reduce their self-esteem or they just don’t want others to invade in their own business. At our own point of view, corrections can be helpful while for others it can be very annoying or destructive for them.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Things to avoid when you earn a lot or become rich on: June 08, 2024, 09:42:27 PM
I remember shopping with my father once when I was younger.  We were shopping at Target (kind of like Walmart for those unfamiliar).  I remember running in to a man who had a handful of coupons.  He was a friend of my fathers and they had a nice chat and he went on his way.  I'll never forget my father saying "that is the richest man in our state, and even he clips coupons"  "those who get rich stay rich by making careful money and investing decisions".  He couldn't have been more right.
That only proves that rich people even become more thrifty in order to save more than to spend more. For me, that is a great mindset if you want to stay rich. And by staying rich it’s not necessarily that you need to make all out investments, sometimes even by saving a little out from your expenses will help you to remain rich by not spending a lot on your purchases, but by saving big when you spend big.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could 72K USD be the peak for this bull run? on: June 08, 2024, 08:45:35 PM
I will answer your question straightly, the Bitcoin could easily cross $72k this bull run and it may cross it within 2024. I believe we will get the highest value of this bull run during October-December 2025 and till then we should not worry about this bull run's peak.

It's just the middle of bull run and it will continue for many coming months. The bull run isn't intense yet but overtime you'll see huge intensity in this bull run and when that takes place then you'll see many altcoins pumping crazily within hours each day.
$72k will be an easy goal for bitcoin as it may possibly reach even after few days from now. But talking about $76k, most likely we will see this price after a month or two especially if bitcoin price becomes more volatile if ever price correction suddenly appears again.

However, this is still another pure guess and prediction as we can’t tell exactly what will be the next btc price movement. But one thing is certain, bitcoin will eventually reach its new all time high right before this bull run ends. No doubts with that.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't you think you should invest in Bitcoin instead of burning your money in fire on: June 08, 2024, 03:16:31 PM
Young people these days are very different if I compare them to the 90's. Today's young people feel too entitled because of the social media we have today. Are they the type who thinks they are always right and there is nothing wrong with what most of them say?

Also, for the majority of young people today, their priority is to enjoy being teenagers; they don't have the future savings that are mentioned in their minds, and they don't know about these things yet. Because all they think about is the money their parents will give them that they didn't work hard for.
Changes are inevitable and so the trend with these teens these days as well. Social media may create a huge impact in the lives of these young minds but I believe it’s not all about negativity since there are also some advantages that these teens have benefited from being exposed to social media.

However, when it comes to these young people’s mindset and perspective, yes they may be more of a fun and happy go lucky, but somehow it also depends on their parents upbringing to them. Some are even trained to save and invest at a young age, most especially for those career and goal oriented individuals, but for those who just want to enjoy their present lifestyle while relying everything to their parents, I believe in due time they will mature and will have a change of mindset and perspectives especially if they end up building a family of their own at a young age.
16  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it possible to inherit a gambling debt? on: June 08, 2024, 10:38:44 AM
If you want to borrow money, there must be a collateral. If there is not collateral, there must be one or more guarantors. I do not think anyone can be a guarantor of a gambler. It is the father that have the debt and if he dies, his family will pay with the properties or works that the father left on earth. I do not think the son have any problem with his own property. That is why it is good to have your own property and be independent.

Well it's possible that the garantoors maybe trusted friends or even family member that had no idea that he wanted to use the money for gambling, its also possible that it wasn't his initial reason to borrow the money and maybe passing by a gambling shop he couldn't control himself or maybe just decided to fund his betting account and that's how he ruined it all.

It's possible, but if I were to be a guarantor for a borrower, I would make sure I know the purpose of the loan because I feel like I'm the second borrower. In the event the main borrower fails to pay, the lender will certainly come after me, which means trouble on my part.

I think it's better if the borrower has something to use as collateral. That way, there's no burden on the lender to collect the money, as they can just sell the property or asset and liquidate it to settle the remaining loan balance.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which are you more attracted to: -10 (favorite) or +10 (underdog)? on: June 08, 2024, 08:58:51 AM
Is that not handicap that you meant? I do not like going for handicap. Some people like it especially to go for the weak team with minus that the strong team will still win them. I do not know much about basketball but I have gone for -2 in football before. But I do not like handicaps. I prefer to just go for the tram that would win but it can be a small odd for the strong team unlike handicap.

I do play handicaps but not often, the thign about picking Handicap against the weak team is that, I've often seem stronger than not able to score much goals as expected against weak teams and that could be at your disadvantage, but in the Turkey leauges, they have two outstanding teams raring from last seasons performance, fernabache and gatasaraway I don't know if I got the spelling right, but they are normally my picks for a Handicap match.

I think the statistics for the percentage of covering a high spread is different from other sports. What OP is discussing is basketball, specifically the NBA, where sometimes a -10 spread is even very low. There are teams that can win by blowouts, winning by 20+ or even 50 points, especially if the opposing team is really weak. This would just boil down to how confident we are because that point spread created was not taken from thin air; it was well analyzed by the bookmakers to attract equal actions.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Converting altcoin profits into Bitcoin? on: June 07, 2024, 09:25:09 PM
First bull run for me and I do not have any Bitcoin yet but do want some after this bull run to hold until 2030 at least.

Is it best to take my altcoin profits in the next 6-12 months at the bull run peak and then buy Bitcoin in 2026 during the next bear market?

I see some advise to just convert my profits straight into Bitcoin but in doing that I would be buying Bitcoin at the highest prices so don't understand that.
I believe Bitcoin is more reliable than altcoins, but you never know for sure, and it's true that BTC price is pretty high right now. I don't know what's the best choice in this case, and I'm not giving financial advice, so I'll just write what I think I would do. I would sell for USDT or USD to keep the profit from altcoins and wait for the price of Bitcoin to fall by at least 20% before starting to DCA and gradually obtain more and more BTC.
Bitcoin has proven its bigger worth and value over altcoins and there’s no doubt with that. However, knowing bitcoin’s future is still uncertain, it’s still not advisable to buy all in knowing if the price suddenly crash, we will definitely end up losing all our funds.

The best approach here is to sell your altcoins for USD and just spend them whenever bitcoin is at its bearish season. But always invest with a small amount first, an amount that you are comfortable of losing, and when opportunities keep coming in, follow DCA until we’ll reach a significant amount of bitcoin in our portfolio.
19  Other / Meta / Re: Let's make bitcointalk great again. on: June 07, 2024, 08:27:10 PM
Bitcointalk is as popular as before because there are some searches about Bitcoin, mining, and cryptocurrency that I will do on Google, and the results I get always point me to this forum. The only thing that has changed as per the last topic I read is that the number of posts on the forum has reduced from what it used to be in the past; some old, experienced members have left too; and some old signature campaigns have ended. An example is the CM campaign, and the best change that they just recently discontinued their campaign. If the existing members continue to improve in quality topics and discussions and if some old members continue spam bursting, then the forum will just be fine.
I do think as well that bitcointalk gets even more popular these days knowing bitcoin has become a hot topic in the social media. However, the sad part is that this forum has been full of spam posts because it’s obvious that newbies are mostly the thread openers these days, and creating some topics that are irrelevant to the forum. I’m not saying that newbies are no longer helpful in maintaining the good reputation of the forum, but if they will continue to make spam and off topic posts, I’m sure the forum will no longer attract new members that might somehow become the assets of the forum in the near future.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: June 07, 2024, 07:02:51 AM

It's now needed for Kyrie and Luka to bring that spark if they failed to deliver then this first game will be for the home team.

This is not alarming yet as we've seen a lot of games in the playoff where one team loss by a huge margin but the next game they come back with a big win. Even if the outcome is not good for Dallas, it's still scored as 1-0 in the series, and it's a must win for the Boston since they need to protect their home court.

There's still game 2, and now that the hype has shifted to the Celtics, I think it's about time to take Dallas to win in game 2, yeah, I'm talking about the money odds which is bigger since they now opened at +7.5.. Also, you guys might want to check the series odds, Dallas had a very enticing one.
