181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer betting your own predictions or from prediction site on: March 11, 2024, 11:18:32 AM
Own prediction and others site's prediction have some advantages and disadvantages. If you make a prediction yourself, a gambler can get a better idea of how reliable his analysis is. All gamblers can gain more experience in their betting. But if the gambler depends on another prediction site, then he accepts the analysis done by others. He must depend on others. Here, on the one hand, he is dependent on others, and on the other hand, he will be behind in his experience. To make a prediction, one must rely on his own analysis.

Making your own predictions in gambling has its pros and cons. On the one hand, it allows you to develop analytical skills, improve your understanding of sports events and increase the likelihood of successful bets. On the other hand, one's own forecasts may be subject to subjective biases and errors, which can lead to loss of money.
It is important to find a balance between trust in your own forecasts and the ability to admit your mistakes in order to effectively manage risks and achieve success in the gambling world.

There's no excuse or whatever reasons to consider because the best answer here is only make a prediction base on your own analysis. We can improve from here and that would give us full satisfaction in gambling in the end. It's actually a challenge, and we are here to take on that chalenge, our goal here is to be profitable in the long run, and there's nothing we can rely on is ourselves.

Well, there are times that we follow someone and we won, but the question, how long? And how long that someone could provide a winning bets, and what's his reason for sharing the bets? Honestly, I don't think it's wise to trust other people's prediction, it should be ours only as that is our own money.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Management on: March 11, 2024, 05:54:39 AM
I often run out of funds due to gambling that is too blind in terms of placing $$ on every bet I make and ends up losing. I do multi-bets and single-bets, every time I win, sometimes I forget myself and use all my $$ on the next bet. This sometimes gives me big wins, but if I'm unlucky I can lose all my funds and this has happened many times.

I started to realize and change my habits. Now I use $$ from the profits from the previous bet to place the next bet and save my initial capital.

What do you think, is this good and can help me overcome losses that will occur so that $$ remains safe and can be used in future betting? Are there other unique ways that you can use to grow your money in gambling? feel free to comment. Thanks

Here I gamble and divide my money into three parts, with one of them I gamble and start playing. If my capital balance is exhausted then I can't gamble anymore and I take some time off from gambling. If I calculate it weekly I abstain from gambling for two days, so two days a week break is definitely necessary to keep myself calm. Otherwise, if the gambler becomes addicted, it won't take long to run out of capital, so with this strategy I can win at gambling and keep myself sober. And then there are two more parts with which I gamble later on. This strategy works best for me.

The strategy will help you prevent yourself from getting addicted as you know when to stop, you don't let your emotion control you and make a wrong decision that you might just forget in the end. However, you stated that you can win, do you mean a long term wining? or just a random gambling session?

Personally I also have no problem with stopping when necessary, but my success just ended on that fartor as in terms of profitability, I still haven't achieve something positive, so I'm curious about yours... I'm referring to long term success in my question.

https://www.si.com/nba/warriors/news/steph-currys-expected-injury-return-timeline-revealed

Quote
It was reported several places on Friday afternoon that Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry had avoided serious injury after rolling his ankle against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night.

In consecutive posts on X, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported, "(1) ESPN Sources: Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry’s MRI on his right ankle returned clean on Friday and a clearer timeline on his return will come with how ankle responds over next several days. (2) The expectation is that Curry won’t miss much time for the Warriors, sources said. Golden State is ninth in the Western Conference playoff race."

While the Warriors have yet to announce an official injury update on Curry, all signs point to a relatively quick return. In a report from Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area, it was revealed that Curry's timeline is expected to be similar to the 7 to 10 day range that Devin Booker is currently facing with his ankle injury.

He will be back soon and the Warriors will start winning again. With Curry back, we are seeing a healthy Warriors in the play-in or playoffs since CP3 was already playing and Wiggins as well. All signs are good for the Warriors, everyone were playing on the same page so pretty much they are ready on every big games.
Having Curry back would be awesome, but at the same time, kind of makes me worried.

For the whole regular season, they're relying too much on Curry's offense. I don't see anything wrong with that, but if Curry isn't playing, no one can step up on offense to lead the team. I mean how can they lose to an average team in Spurs that has no Wembanyama. I thought that their current roster would be better than last season because they solved their problem last season which is a big man that can help Looney defend the paint, but it seems like they're much worse than that. I don't know the reason, and I don't want to blame any of them, but if they are underperforming this year, I will not be surprised if the Warriors management will break the big 3 of Steph, Klay, and Dray just to get another all-star player that will help the team win the title.

As for Wiggins, he's underperforming for the majority of the season. Yes, there are times that he's scoring 20 points, but he wasn't the Wiggins that we saw when they won the title back in 2022. They need that old Wiggins if they want to win the title. Sadly, we might not see it anymore. I guess I'll just hope that the Warriors will at least stay on the play-in spot.

That is always the case for the Warriors, Curry is their main scorer and he needs to stay consistent everygame so they can win. I think with Thompson's being inconsistent too it makes them more dangerous because they are spreading the points. The loss to the Spurs is really bad but that was without Curry and I think they have a problem figuring out how to do the right play without him, or the Spurs just have a very good game, that's normal.

However, in the next game and Curry still not available and the Warriors still lose in the same manner, then I can say that there's really a problem with this team as they will be in the similar situation with the Sixers that struggles a lot without their best player. Wiggins could be a problem but him underperforming is making his teammates gets better because somebody needs to step up on that matter. I'm not sure how the Warriors will end up this season, but once they are in the playoffs, they'll be activated to the same Warriors who have won multiple championships.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: March 10, 2024, 08:49:08 PM
Thanks to the inception of smart contracts, we can now enjoy decentralized gambling in a provably fair way. I've used a few gambling dApps in the past, and the experience was great. Except now that dApps charge high gas fees (on ETH) due to increased network congestion. But with L2 scaling solutions and alternative chains, this should no longer be a problem.

Do you think decentralized gambling dApps will eventually replace their centralized counterparts? If not, why? Which do you prefer? Centralized or decentralized gambling? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley
I doubt decentralized gambling will replace the casinos that we have now, and this is because we do not really have a need for them, a decentralized currency like bitcoin was urgently needed as central banks and governments around the world cannot stop themselves from printing money, decentralized exchanges are needed so we can exchange our coins freely without the governments trying to get into our business over an over again, but centralized casinos are fine as they are, and a decentralized option is not different enough or offer sufficient advantages to replace them.
Bitcoin is decentralized but it's slowly losing its decentralization as the government are intervening hard trying to control us. When bitcoin and altcoins were created, the idea of decentralized casino came as well, but it was not successful due to its complexity and people wants a simple one and that is what they usually do before the crypto exist. Now, casinos and exchanges are regulated, so bitcoin is just acting like a digital payment when we are gambling because eventually at the end of the day you will have to convert it to cash to enjoy it, unless you are living in a country where bitcoin is accepted everywhere.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 10, 2024, 01:37:35 PM
In the fight happened what Mike Tyson used to say "everyone has a game plan until he is punched in the mouth" Cheesy What is exactly what happened to Ngannou. He probably trained and prepared for 10 rounds, but after 2 minutes and first knockdown, his faced showed that he was completely lost. If the rounds would be 5 minutes like in MMA, he wont survive for more than 3 minutes. That belt saved him from knockout in first round imho.

Whos next to beat Ngannou in boxing? Wilder? He would be more quick than AJ, but with same power. First round KO probably? Cheesy

I think his done, or if anyone just wants to make money from his current fame, they will gonna arrange another big fight for him as long as he is making money in the Middle East. Now that he was quickly knocked out like that, he needed some long rest and enjoy the money he made from that fight and get well soon so that he could get back to the right whenever he was ready. It maybe seem easy for him to win against the Heavyweight pro Boxers but in reality, champions like Joshua and Fury are almost impossible to beat because of their long journey of training and experience.

It's Fury's fault, he didn't train well during their fight and after that it made people convinced that Ngannou is a real deal. But it was proven wrong by AJ as he finished the fight early and the fans were shocked. I'm sure they are expecting that this fight will go to distance as AJ will not be so aggressive, but with just quick straight from AJ, Ngannou already felt his power and could not recover his normal strength.

It was suppose to be AJ vs Wilder, but Wilder destroyed his chance.. it could have been more entertaining as Wilder could give AJ a tough fight, but because of what happen to Wilder, Ngannou was given a go to faced AJ and that made AJ to easily win and now he is just waiting for another championship fight.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 10, 2024, 12:11:02 PM
Looking at the four teams that will play play-in tournament, Kings, Mavs, Warriors and the Lakers I can say that Lakers actually has a chance. However, it is not going to be all that easy at all, it will definitely feel like it will take a while to get there. I realize that it is going to be a tough one, and I realize that it will not be easy for them to get those wins but with Lebron at the helm, I feel like anything is possible. I am not saying that they will win, I am just saying that they have a pretty good chance this way.

It should be pointed out that we still have no idea how the league will end though, if one of these teams go on a big win streak, then they may end up with something major without a doubt, it has to be bound to change.

The difference in win percentage between the team currently 6th in the Western Conference standings and those teams in the play-in zone is too small. So, I wouldn't rush to make any predictions yet as to which of the above teams will be in the play-in tournament and make it past this stage.

Still plenty of games to be played, more or less 20 games for each team and the outcome could change their ranking. They could be out of the play-in, stay, or ensure a playoff spot. We don't know yet, so we cannot count those teams that are not in the play-in picture as out.

Even the Warriors, they experienced 2 losses and recently loss to the Spurs in a big margin, the effect of Curry-less Warriors, so they need to get their MVP back as soon as possible so their ranking will not sink.

Curry was injured but good thing was not serious. Here's the full report about his injury.

187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: March 10, 2024, 11:35:37 AM
those who win are those who are not influenced by emotions, these are good words that I have ever heard and if practiced then the results are very good for all aspects of life, as well as in gambling, those who gamble carried away by emotions will only experience losses, such as OP's case, he said he lost when betting big but won when betting with small capital, i know it's not easy to control emotions, but learning to control it is very important, especially since gambling is an activity that risks money, don't be emotional for a moment so we lose the money we have worked so hard to find.

Definitely there's an emotion involved and probably the biggest reason why the outcome is different depending on the size of bets. When you bet big, there's probably bigger pressure when analyzing the game, thing is if we over analyze it and we put a lot of pressure, that's when we get too emotionally attached which is not good if you are gambling since it should all be based with what you think, not what you feel.

Eventually we can learn if we want to, otherwise if we are not learning, then winning in gambling or being successful to it is not for us.
188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is going to touch all time highs on: March 09, 2024, 08:35:11 PM
Bitcoin price has already touched 69000 thousand dollars, which is the highest price of 2021. So how reasonable do you think it is that the price of bitcoin will touch 70k dollar again if it takes another step forward?
It is broken once again , bitcoin crossed 70k and that recorded its ATH now and looks like we will be breaking it again and again before the halving comes , because seeing the market now staying at 68k after hitting that 70k? this shows how strong the market can be and its value will continues to flow, surely this is the ETF thing here.
From the very beginning, I have this feeling that this ETF thing will create a rapid growth for bitcoin price and now it’s really happening. Although reaching $70k is still a failure, but I think the market is only taking a break and gets back eventually to its higher momentum until we see bitcoin price finally touching $70k and above.

However, talking about its new all time high, I assume that it will only be possible when bitcoin halving will be finally over. Although we don’t know what will be the next target for bitcoin’s new ATH, but we will definitely find it out soon.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing into Bitcoin as self pension on: March 09, 2024, 07:47:07 PM
Do be careful about that idea OP, you don't want to end up with no money in your name when you retire or that you've got smaller than you'd expect to have amount of pension money, don't rely on bitcoin as your way of growing your pension, maybe diversification can help you but other than that, you've got to be crazy to just rely on bitcoin, can you even handle the possibility that you're going to be seeing your pension money going up and down whenever the market is experiencing issues and FUDs because you've got to be really strong and won't be easily swayed by these FUDs and short-term price drops if you're investing your pension on bitcoin alone and can you handle hodling for a really long time? Because that's what you're going to be doing all the time, no selling or withdrawing, just accumulating.

Have you also thought about how to store your bitcoins long-term? Because there's a case of obsoletion in technology and you don't want that bitcoin get locked out because your wallet isn't compatible with the latest technology at the time that you're selling to claim that pension.
Investing in bitcoin might gained the biggest ROI these days but we don’t know in the future if it will remains the same. The volatility rate of bitcoin is very high that it could turn your investment into a multi million asset and the next day, its value have dropped down to its dips. So having this thought, this would bring a lot of depression if ever it happens one of these days.

I suggest just invest in bitcoin on your extra money. Learn to invest as well in other investments like gold, stocks or real estate so that when one investment fails, other investment might succeed. Diversification is the key. And don’t underestimate saving your own emergency funds before retirement. That will be your last key when all your investments did not work as planned.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake loses $615k bet on Joshua-Ngannou bout on: March 09, 2024, 06:51:47 PM
Drake thought Francis Ngannou would win but Anthony Joshua knocked out Ngannou in the second round of the match of the heavyweight showdown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Drake lost $615000.

https://www.thecable.ng/drake-loses-615k-bet-on-joshua-ngannous-bout/amp?/drake-loses-615k-bet-on-joshua-ngannous-bout

Too bad, I think everyone here as well thought that Francis Ngannou will pull an upset win against the Brit. But Joshua didn't want to happen and as if this is a tailor fight for him to win in that dominant fashion. Not the first time that he have heard Drake bet on a fight or sports and losses big money,

So the Drake curse continues...

He loves betting on the underdog and probably fine with losing a lot of money (maybe fore us).

Based on what I read...

Quote
Drake has a net worth of $250 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

So I would say that there's nothing so alarming with his bets as surely he can afford to lose what he bet so far. Also, it's just his losses were publicized, how about his wins? Drake continues to make money and probably gambling is just his way of spending money, as long as he has no gambling addiction, everything should be considered as normal.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Support, do not criticize. on: March 09, 2024, 05:20:10 PM
Addicts might have to face a lot of anger from their nearby family members, lenders and so on. So eventually that anger ends up in criticism, so its common and not everyone is going to be supportive.

The gambler is at fault because it was their choice to play with their luck and they did not stop themselves unlike other who moved on. If they chance their attitude to gambling they might be able to come out of this rabbit hole, pay back their debts and be proud of their conversion to a new human.

Support from family and friends is important, but how they provide it is also important. Sometimes its not possible and the gambler has to cope up on their own.

If an addicted gambling himself will try to change for the better, we should set aside that criticism as it will not help at all. Besides, this gambler if he will be able to successfully cure his gambling addiction, he will not be a problem in the community especially with his family. The problem with non supportive family is they are the ones that are good in criticizing gambling addicts, instead of helping since he is part of the family.

Actually it's not easy to get out from addiction, but it will only be easier if the family member are supportive, so that's the key.

Yes, as the OP said that what we should do is support them in any way or at least say "encouragement" I think that's good instead of criticizing them which in the end will actually be able to thwart their struggle to quit. I think we all know that quitting gambling is a difficult act to overcome especially if you have entered the addiction phase where your brain and mind are filled with everything about gambling. On the other hand, I think it is quite unlikely for them to criticize if they are basically family or family members of the addicted gambler because obviously the family always wants the best for their fellow family members and I think it is likely that they will support the healing process that is being carried out by the addicted gambler.

For the problem of criticizing or ridiculing, in my opinion, this is more likely to be done by others who are not related to the gambler, such as maybe some friends in the neighborhood or hangout who usually prefer to say or say something that is not based on any consideration that leads to ridicule or criticism.

That is why sometimes it's hard to get out from addiction because instead of getting a help, you are getting criticized like you have no chance to correct your mistakes. The closest people to understand you is your family as they know you better, but there are still those who are from the family, not so close that might criticize. As a gambler, we have to accept criticism as that is one of the consequences of our wrong action, if we have prevented ourselves from getting addicted, then it could have not happen.

Everyone makes mistake, right? So there's no need to push that burden more to ourselves, instead, let us forgive ourselves and move on to what makes us a better person. After all, gambling is just an entertainment, it's us who only created a problem, but when the time comes that we will be able to control ourselves and be responsible, we can fully enjoy the essense of gambling.
192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: March 08, 2024, 10:07:22 PM
I wouldn’t recommend you to any of the Trading platform or any of the coin that you should buy to increase your fund. That is nothing that comes easily, but I would tell you to take the ricks go to CoinMarketCap check some coin ask questions and also don’t forget to have some bitcoin in your wallet because it will also help and go make some research and continue to ask questions please don’t make use of your money, useless and don’t spend it on any coin that you think that is better think very well and analyze properly before taking any step Money is not easy to get
Trading will only used up all your money if you continue trading without proper skills and experience. I suggest focus on investing first as the risk to lose is quite less, but never use your money that you can't afford to lose. There is no fixed results when it comes to any form of investment, everything is uncertain really.

However, if you focus on bitcoin and invest in long term, the probability to be in massive profits is high. But you have to establish your knowledge first on your investment, then build your faith and patience so you can manage the high volatility of bitcoin and its market uncertainty.
193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Prepare Your Children For Bitcoin Investment and Not for Government Jobs. on: March 08, 2024, 09:31:08 PM
Every human being is very unique, there are many who don't want to be directed by their parents, there are even many who follow in the footsteps of their friends in terms of their careers, but as parents, we can only support what our children want, give them consideration so that they can think again, never push them too far, children are still very young and hurt, so be careful in giving advice, especially when it relates to their future.  but if i were a parent, i would educate my children about bitcoin and others.
Of course, being independent is part of our children who want to grow on their own without their parents control. That is understandable as we’ve been there too. However, if we aim to lead them on bitcoin investment, then we should have educated them while they’re still young because what they’ll learn earlier, they will never forget that when they mature.

But there’s still no assurance of that they will follow our lead. Parents should be more open with that. However, one thing is certain, if they will invest in bitcoin, they will definitely look for ways on how to start entering the market. But most of the time, their priority is to get stable or government job first so they can earn and eventually invest in bitcoin once their funds are sufficient enough.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 08, 2024, 04:21:06 PM
It's been posted on all social media Tyson still attracts a lot of attention, this is an interesting and exciting fight Tyson is still at the peak of his health even though he is already 60 years old but age is always a factor when it comes to boxing, Tyson may be good in the first two rounds but old age will catch with him and the fresh legs of Jake Paul will take over.

Easy money for both fighters, this is a real exhibition fight but if there's a winner and odds are available, I think I will bet on the younger and active boxer. It's true that Tyson is a legend, but he is already old, against a young boxer who can also fight, I don't see Mike Tyson winning here. Honestly, I believe the only reason why people would bet on Tyson is because they got influence by the hype of the legend, but me, I see the current situation and based on my analysis, all the edge point out to Jake Paul.

196  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am i bad to this friend if i refuse to loan him some money in bad economy on: March 08, 2024, 10:23:24 AM
You have income from signature campaigns that may already exceed the monthly minimum wage in your country - so what's the harm in helping out with a few sats without affecting your bitcoin holding?

I don't know how much he needs from you - but helping him with half of your weekly income from signature campaigns doesn't seem like too much of a bother. For me, friends are more than money, especially when they are always there for you when you are in trouble - unless they only come after you are truly financially successful. You have the right to help or not - it's your money.
Its not wrong if you focus on bitcoin investment and delayed your luxuries in life, but when you are already experiencing profits, I guess helping a friend who is in a bad financial situation is not bad at all. Even lending him a small amount can do a lot already, it’s up to him if he will refuse to accept the help or not. Don’t prioritize money over your friends. You can easily lose your money and make another, but real friends are hard to find again. Learn to balance your life, at least you’re rich in your pocket as well as rich with the love from your friends.
197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dont sell because you feel like selling, give it another thought. on: March 07, 2024, 09:59:08 PM
Everyone's investment goals are different, if they sell because they have made a big profit, why not? for example, they buy bitcoin when the price is still discounted when the price is $20k and sell it at $60k for other purposes such as buying a house and other urgent needs.

So we also cannot urge someone not to sell bitcoin because people's needs are certainly different, in essence investing is to make a profit. If they feel the profits they have are sufficient then there is no problem selling some. However, it would be better to remain Hold if there is no urgent need or anything else because Hold is a brilliant move at this time, the reason is clear that bitcoin has not yet formed a new ATH and it is very likely that bitcoin will reach $100k then the profits we get will continue to increase.
I couldn’t agree more. We can’t hold the people from not selling their coins if they have already seen substantial profits in their investments. Take time to sell but never sell all your coins. Leave some for your future profits. While others would want to sell and make profits already, majority would still want to continue hodling. Most likely because their target selling price has not achieve yet, or they have no plans to sell since there are no genuine reason of selling. Just hold if you don’t want to sell, but never sell all your coins if you want to stop buying already.
198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is rising faster and faster, It is time to Buy Bitcoin ! on: March 07, 2024, 09:31:35 PM
I guess as the bitcoin halving is approaching, it is like a hype among investors to buy as much since in past there have been trends of bitcoin reaching all time high price after the halving. I think there will be a bit of bear market that will come right after a few months of halving as hype fades away, then I guess it would be more wise to buy instead of right now when it is breaking all records and we don't know when and at how much it might stop! Grin

Right now it's pointless for regular people to buy BTC IMO. It's very expensive, an opportunity to buy it cheaper might come. I stopped buying it when it crossed $40k.
You don’t have to buy the whole portion of bitcoin just to acquire bitcoin investment. Just buy a small of portion of it and continue with DCA. Although I have to agree that entering the market now is quite risky due to bitcoin’s high price. But if you are here not for quick profits, but definitely for long term investment, then I don’t see its pointless buying bitcoin this time. You know it’s a lot better than having no investment with bitcoin at all.
199  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving don't make wealth on: March 06, 2024, 11:59:36 PM
If you are trying to set aside some money for savings, why don't you try going one level higher which can make your amount of money grow by investing?
Instead of saving which means the value of the money can be depleted by inflation, you should use a method that can provide future benefits by investing the money in Bitcoin.

If you plan to build a monthly savings of $100, you can also get Bitcoin with that amount. Bitcoin which can be purchased in smaller denominations can make it easier for you to invest your money by using the DCA strategy regularly, you will feel much greater benefits from investing in the future compared to saving.
Don’t just save, but also save a portion for investment. Saving alone won’t make you capable to gain higher interest of profits, but will only save you from those unpredicted emergency events. While saving can be a lot of help for us, but investing will help us yield more profits which may lead into building our wealth and securing our finances.

Don’t make it too hard on yourself. You can definitely save and reserve some spare money for investment. Just invest on what you can afford to lose, and invest only if you have gained sufficient amount of knowledge and skills that are required for a successful investment.

When I was new to gambling, I tended to look for a pattern to win. In fact, I lost a lot of money over time before I finally figured out that what I was looking for is impossible to achieve. I realized in the end that as long as there's a house edge, regardless of its size, I will never win in the long run. It became a challenge for me in the past, but I'm happy to have finally learned. Although I still gamble on the games I played before, now I'm just doing it for fun.

More so, I also realized that if I want to be long-term successful in gambling, I should choose a game to focus on, and that should fall into the category of skilled-based games. Currently, I'm more focus in sports, and I'm sure there are a lot of bettors here who are doing the same and would agree that sports betting belong to the skilled based games.
